I have suffered for years with interstitial self cystitis, which was making my sleep very difficult and affecting my daily life. Finally, my urologist suggested that I see Dr. Wallace for possible hormone replacement. It's now been four months and I could not be happier with Dr. Wallace or her staff. Dr. Wallace is very insightful and she really listens and she looks at the whole body. I am a retired registered nurse and I would encourage anyone to seek treatment from Dr. Wallace. Stay away -- BAIT AND SWITCH! I NEVER write reviews - but this is worth it. I called and got the quote of $400 for a pellet. I called back to verify that it was a total of $400, because a friend felt that was low. They said that it was total $400 out the door. To my surprise, I am being billed another $250. I called and told them I had verified. After not getting a call back, I called again. The office manager called me back and after I explained the situation, she said that they had made a mistake "because they are only human", but there was nothing they could do about the extra bill. I reiterated what she said to me (they made a mistake but they wouldn't fix the mistake) and she said "this is the medical profession, not retail. We don't fix things in the medical profession". Then she proceeded to tell me that I don't have to pay it, but that they will just send it to collections. She had a raised voice, and was interrupting me every time I tried to say anything and was 100% unprofessional. She sounded like she was in her 30's without much life experience. Dr. Wallace seemed knowledgeable and fine. (When she inserted the pellet, I wasn't numbed all the way, but she immediately fixed it and it was a fine experience.) Ultimately, I don't think the pellet is rocket science - you cut, insert and bandage it. But since they are expensive, the price took me to Dr. Wallace. The truth is - I would have gone to Dr. Wallace for the next 10+ years for a pellet. But her receptionist was rude and defensive, I never got a return call on my first inquisition, and her office manager was ready to fight with me as soon as she did call. I won't be returning. And I have a sister, mother-in-law and sister-in-law who have already made appointments with her. Plus several others who I have given her name to. Pretty sure not one of them will be going....because I told them it was only $400! Dr. Wallace - your staff is a disservice to you. Customer service is still essential! My wife doesn't have a Yelp account - but this review is written by her and her experience with Dr. Wallace and her office. After doing my research on Urethral Sling surgery/doctors I found that Dr. Wallace was, for sure, the only Doctor I would want to help me with my stress incontinence issues. Still being relatively young, I wanted to make sure I had the best advice, options and solutions from a fantastic Doctor. I had to plan ahead to get my appointment with Dr. Wallace as she is a really busy Doctor. But don't let that put you off. Her office staff are efficient and make sure there are no problems with insurance and that you are covered. My initial visit with Dr. Wallace was great, we talked about my options and made a plan and then had a follow up call to discuss what I wanted to do. For me it was about waiting; I needed to have me my deductible before I could go ahead and plan the surgery option I had decided upon. Dr. Wallace was very understanding of that and when the time had come she and her staff made every effort possible to fit me in around year end madness and my own schedule at work. The day of the surgery came around and I have to say, the compassion that Dr. Wallace showed me brought me to tears. Any surgery is like stepping into the unknown, despite having had each step explained to me in detail- I think nerves take over and we don't always take in all the information. Dr. Wallace came to me in the pre-surgery room, made sure I was OK, answered any questions I had and then said "I'll see you before you go to sleep". Even her words were so calming and caring. Once inside the operating room I remember Dr. Wallace holding my hand, rubbing it gently and she reassured me everything would be ok. That little gesture meant the world to me, I'll never ever forget it. Post surgery follow up has been great too. Any advice is given in a way that leaves you with no doubt on how to follow it. I've had a question that I needed to ask Dr. Wallace when the office was closed (it's the holiday season) and her answering service was fabulous. Listened to me and took down each detail. Dr. Wallace called me back almost immediately and set my mind at ease. I know this was a long review, but when we need a great doctor and we are so unsure about how things will be, I always find other people's experiences to be helpful. I have no doubt in my mind that Dr. Wallace would be a great choice for any woman looking for complete care, compassion and empathy. From my first visit and after surgery procedure I was very pleased with Dr. Wallace. She is very knowledgeable and I had confidence in her performing the procedure. The staff was fine but it was hard to get to the party you want to talk with for questions. After surgery I got an infection but was told my symptoms were just normal post surgery. It kept getting worst. It was a horrible period of time and felt I wasn't being listened to. I finally got into the office, told I had an infection and needed meds. I knew what was happening couldn't be normal but, after all, I'm not a doctor. Then I had insurance denial of part of the claim. I showed Dr. Wallace twice and she said she would take care of but nothing ever was accomplished. It's over now and all behind me, pun intended, the surgery was successful and so ... the beat goes on. I recommend Dr. Wallace but the communication availability with the office due to phone system didn't help me get the help I needed.. read more

Dr. Wallace was lukewarm to say the least. It was like visiting a car mechanic. Annaliese was so indifferent the room chilled. She comes in before the doc and gets all the info, she's totally cold and seemed as though she could care less that there was a human being in the room. She never smiled or looked up from her computer. She seemed very junior. When Dr. Wallace made her grand entrance, she was very matter of fact, which is fine, but then gave no credence to the fact that I had a very painful cystoscopy before. Her staff was occupied with each other when I was leaving and I stood for 5 minutes waiting for them to finish up personal conversations. They never looked over to see if I was there. This was one of the worst offices I've ever been to. I waited 3 months to be treated with utter disregard. She has a good rep as of now, but perhaps they're feeling a bit secure and less caring towards what really matters , THE PATIENT. Will never go back. Analiesse could use some customer relationship management classes, or perhaps she should be in need of compassion one day. Not good if you need caring and not just mechanics. read more

Dr. Wallace specializes in chronic bladder conditions and pelvic floor dysfunction so you can discuss interstitial cystitis or recurrent urinary tract infections with her. Her advice to avoid prolapse is to avoid heavy lifting, strengthen core muscles, and wear support underwear. I asked her about constipation and how IUDs affect pelvic health. For a laxative she recommended Miralax but said to avoid bowel stimulants like Correctol, Ducolax, or Senna. To prevent recurrent infections avoid thongs, drink water throughout the day, try probiotics, and use baby wipes. I learned that to prevent incontinence, one should avoid bladder irritants like caffeine, drink 6-8 glasses of liquid every day, and void regularly. If you have dyspareunia, pelvic floor dysfunction, or vaginismus, she works with a physical therapist. She works with Dr. Kanaly at the Incontinence and Pelvic Support Institute. She's certified by the board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. The most helpful item I found out is that citrus juice, green tea, soda, and wine are bladder irritants. read more

This has got to be one of the best doctor's office I have ever been to. Dr. Patricia Wallace is one of the best doctors that I have ever had. She is kind, and really listens to what you say (many doctors don't do that!). Her entire staff are the most courteous and compassionate people I have ever met in a doctor's office! Their work ethic is excellent! That says a lot since I have Chronic Lyme Disease and have been to every kind of doctor you can imagine. I have been disabled for 22 years now. I suffered for the 3rd time with Interstitial Cystitis from having Lyme disease. It is like having a chronic UTI and this time is was for 8 months. Extremely painful! I sought a doctor at UCI Irvine but they did not know a thing about Interstitial Cystitis! It was so frustrating wasting time at UCI!!! I had to wait 2 months to see Dr. Wallace, but when I did, I was extremely happy because she cured me! I am still having mild pain, but not like before. "Health & Wellness" doctor specifically for treatment of low energy with testosterone pellets. The pellets are inserted under the skin in the fatty area of the gluteus maximus. Over a year, I found that the doctor became less gentle while inserting the pellets which was very painful and left bruises. After I cancelled my last appointment, Dr. Wallace never followed up or contacted me to ask why or if there were any problems. It's also too expensive considering other options available on the market. read more

Dr. Wallace is an incredible physician. Not only is she is an expert urogynecololgist, she is gifted with wonderful people skills. I had a uterine prolapse and she performed a laparoscopic robotic hysterectomy. I had issues with urge incontinence and she is totally up to date with the latest therapies. I profited greatly from Percutaneous tibial nerve stimulation (PTNS) and a series of Emsella sessions. The difference is remarkable. I cannot speak more highly of these therapies. I feel like I have my life back again. Her office staff is highly capable and very warm. I am so glad I found Dr. Wallace. She makes a huge, positive difference. read more

I hesitated to see yet another urologist about my bladder pressure. I am a 51-year-old menopausal woman, who cannot sleep because I feel like I have to pee every 10-15 minutes throughout the wee morning hours. Well, this doctor is different. Dr. Wallace thoroughly read my pages and pages of notes and forms before coming in to meet me, she asked good questions and discussed my discomfort, listened and HEARD what I was saying, evaluated the symptoms very scientifically and logically, and she expressed a genuine interest in helping me with my discomfort. Dr. Wallace is truly amazing and a credit to her profession. She was professional, gentle, complete and thorough, followed through on every action she said she would like to take, devised a short-term plan of attack, and was VERY organized. She was very rude to me more than once during our short conversation. I ended up not making an appt. and will be using someone else for my issue. I hate writing this review because I have had great care from Dr. Wallace. However, on Feb 11, 2021, I was seen in the office & wasn't able to leave a urine sample & didn't even walk into the bathroom. Two days later, the office calls to tell me I have a UTI. I explained that wasn't me & thought they called the wrong patient until I got the bill from Quest. It's been months & I am still being told this was my urine. The office manager even tried to tell me the Dr may have used a catheter. I am so disappointed because I not only lost this Dr, but also my OB/GYN because of their mistake. I cannot go back to them after their mistake. I'm hoping with this much information the actual patient who did have the UTI will see this because their mistake for her is worse. read more

I first saw Dr. Wallace during the Fall of 2013 when my OB/GYN sent me to her for a urodynamics test. I am just over 50, a mother of three and felt it was too early in life to stop dancing, running, jumping or basically playing anything rough because of my body's inability to hold the contents of my bladder. After the appropriate testing and consultation I had surgery in December. This morning I had my final post-op check up, which verified the success of the surgery. Dr. Wallace goes above and beyond. I have pelvic floor dysfunction which she understands very well. I had rectocele surgery this year which I did not understand well. She did not do the surgery but was my second opinion. She was fine with me going with the other surgeon due to scheduling and handled the follow-up because she is my uro-gynecologist. The surgery didn't cure all my problems and she set those expectations. I still have digestive issues and she helps me with them and she isn't even a GI doctor but knows more than my GI doctor. She always has pamphlets and handouts on important information. She gave me a document on fiber that they have in their office because so many people with pelvic issues have GI issues. She even gives me notes from my visits when I leave. She works closely with my pelvic floor therapist who has a great deal of respect for her. She's amazing. So much passion and energy. My wife is a current patient of Dr. Wallace and she is so pleased with her outstanding treatment and bedside manner that I feel compelled to write a complimentary review. My wife is a RN who has worked at Mission, Hoag, and Long Beach Memorial Hospitals, and she is a critical judge of the care, knowledge, judgement, and treatment provided by physicians. Dr. Wallace performed bladder repair surgery on my wife, and when she awoke she told me that she heard Dr. Wallace inform the anesthesiologist that he should not start until she was present in the operating room. This was to allow her to reassure my wife on the operating table that the procedure would go smoothly and as the anesthesia was begun, she held my wife's hand.
