The worst service experience that I have ever had. I showed up for my appointment on time and was told that no appointment for me existed. I showed them my email confirmation with the service advisors name and the time and was told they could not "see" the reservation (?). Then was advised there was nothing they could do and I had to schedule another appointment. Keep in mind this was early in the morning and they were clearly not busy. Very poor customer service and I would not suggest anyone buy a Volkswagen if you're going to be relying on this dealership. read more

Its funny that my five-star review of Wallace Volkswagen is the first one on this list. My family, friends and business associates are no longer Wallace customers. After failing to fix my 2019 Jetta's infotainment system problems, the Service Manager was overtly rude, condescending, and offended me. I found out yesterday, while pursuing a Safety Recall on my car that my business is no longer welcome at Wallace Volkswagen. They said flat out that they are not interested in my business. Which, I guess given the poor service, I'm OK with. My network of car buyers will vote with our wallets and give someone else the business. Previous to COVID we started our search for a new vehicle. During Covid we we did most of our shopping online. We corresponded to test drive a vehicle before we purchased it. We contacted Wallace & spoke to a woman on the phone who set up an appointment for us. When we arrived we were greeted by Jim Boyle. Initially I was put off by Jim. He was wearing his mask below his nose and his upper lip. He lead the conversation by pointing out that he saw a doctor and the doctor told him that masks do not help you, only prevent other people from getting your germs. I responded with "exactly, I prefer not get someone else's germs and I protect them from mine. No one needs blood on their hands." We had limited time to really look at the car because we had asked a favor of a family member to watch her children for an hour to two hours. Jim was so intrigued by telling us stories about how many cars he has owned and how he now feels that money should be invested in real estate that we barely got to speak for at least the first hour. He then spent a good deal If time talking is out of the Atlas and telling us that he thinks we would prefer the Toureg because of our budget. We never discussed budget. He had no idea what our budget was. He continues to insult us by telling us that the $10k price difference is a different class of people. Finally we got to go into a car while driving it we had some questions questions. Jim took off his mask and started talking more about real estate and not answering our questions about the vehicle versus competitive vehicles. Much to his dismay we said that the toureg is NOT the vehicle we want, we would prefer the Atlas. He then spent another hour talking about himself & real estate and how people waste money on cars. We asked him for a price and if they had the color we wanted in stock. Then he disappeared. Finally we came out of his office because we needed to release the person that was babysitting our kids. Jim was speaking with Lance about finding the vehicle with the color combination we were looking for. We expressed to Lance, the manager, that we are ready to make the buying decision, we just want the vehicle to be black on black. We asked them to contact us as soon as they could find a transfer with the color we wanted. It took Lance 2 days to get back to us. My husband was busy so I called Lance back. When I called, I was out on hold for about 15 minutes. Finally I was told Lance was busy and would call me back shortly. I never heard back from him. Then 1 week later a customer service person called to follow up. I told them we had worked with Jim and we were waiting for Lance to call us about locating the car we wanted. The customer service man said that Lance was in today and asked us to hold. Then he finally came back and said Lance was too busy. 4 days later I telephoned AGAIN and this time Lance and Jim were too busy. What a frustrating. Experience. We bought the black on black Atlas SEL that we wanted. We just bought it from the West Coast of Fla. what a great experience that buying process was. We called Gettle Acura and worked with Austin. He took care of everything for us. The car was 1 year old and had 1k miles on it. It is a dream vehicle and I was so glad that I did NOT buy from Wallace. The people at Wallace are part of the small group of sales people that give car salesmen a bad reputation. They were disrespectful, self centered with poor sales skills. Very disappointed after four years of using Wallace VW. Within 3,000 miles of 90,000 mile check- up found both my coolent and oil almost nonexistent. Upon checking receipt noted both were supposedly checked and topped off. No leaks or indications. This could have burned out my engine. Upon reporting to dealer I was offered to have it checked!! What an amazing experience we had yesterday with the crew at Wallace Volkswagen in Stuart. We did our normal shopping by phone and text and after we were quoted our salesman John told us to come up and take a look at the car. When we got to the dealership we were expecting extra charges and anything you could expect from a car dealer! With that being said the price quoted was exactly the price we paid. If I could give 10 stars for this company I would. This is our fifth VW and by far this was the best experience of all of them it was definitely worth the drive from Palm Beach County. I have had my Volkswagen serviced here for over 5 years (and note I did not purchase it here). They have always been very fair and helpful. They always look out for me and advise when there is any type of savings via a "coupon" that reduces my costs. During my last service/repair they made every effort to make it painless (loaner, great communication during the repair, and saved some cash taking their advice, thanks David!). David and Andy (Service Advisors) are top notch! I am in the market for a new car, and though none of the VW's really excite me, I am still considering one due to the service here. As a side note, I previously owned a Volvo that I serviced at Wallace down the street. They too had excellent service advisors, showing that it appears to be company culture to provide a high level of service. read more

I leased a 2017 jetta and the lease is now up. My purchase for the vehicle was 10,200. Went to buy vehicle and now its 13,200 to purchase. They added a 1200 dollar certification fee. I took out a private loan. Why does it need to be certified. Then a 700 dollar dealer fee which i paid when i leased the car. 700 hundred dollars for what. Then 600 for plates and registration. Really. Stay away from Wallace. Horrible experience. read more

I have purchased over 50 cars for our family over the last 30 years. I can honestly say this was the worst experience I've ever encountered. Also this was the 1st time I walked away from a car dealership without purchasing a vehicle. I called and spoke to a sales rep ( I will leave names out of this to spare them the embarrassment) and gave him the car I wanted to see from their website and asked to have it ready to view when I got in there. I gave him 2 1/2 hour notice for when I was going to be there. I asked if he could call me back to ensure he could do that. A sales manager then called me back and told me they will have the vehicle ready when I come in. I called the sales rep again 45 minutes before the time I told him I was going to be there just to be sure everything was ready because I live 40 minutes away from the dealership. I was told everything was set. I arrived and spent 25 minutes with the sales rep waiting for him to obtain all the information about the trade-in. He then proceeded to walk me outside which I thought was to view the car. It was the same make and model but not the vehicle I was interested in. When I questioned him on it he said he just wanted to show me what the car looks like. I told him I know what it looks like and to show me the vehicle I'm interested in. He then let me know that he didn't have the car but we could go see it, which was at another dealer 45 minutes further away. I told him we were leaving and if they wanted my business that I wanted a manager to call me. I waited 2 more days and still hadn't received a call. I then got an em from the dealer about the vehicle I was interested in so I called and asked to speak to their main manager. I explained the whole situation and he said if you come back in tomorrow I will make sure to make it worth your while and we'll for sure get a deal done. So I proceeded back to the dealer for another hour and a half round trip. The manager gave me a good deal on the car but was trying to hose me on our trade. He gave the normal set of excuses, but of course nothing that I haven't heard before from a typical car salesman. I had a True Car True Cash Offer from another dealer that was 20% higher than his initial trade offer. I was able to work to get him higher but was still 10% lower than my cash offer. All I was asking is to match the offer of our trade to get the deal done and his exact explanation was "I don't have to make the deal because we sell a lot of cars. If you want a better deal go to the other dealer." So needlessly to say I left. By the way this was 5/27/20 during Covid-19 when no one was buying cars. I highly recommend that you never go to Wallace Volkswagen to buy a car. They will waste your time, not deliver what they say they will deliver and show zero compassion for how they treat their customers. read more

I got an email promoting a 9.99 conventional oil change. I scheduled my appointment a week in advance. When I got there they told me I can get my oil changed and a recall fixed. They then told me they don't do conventional oil changes (which was advertised) and after going back and forth they told me they could get conventional oil. I went back to pick up my car and was told the oil was not changed because they can't put conventional oil in the car which left me to get synthetic but I had to wait until the next day, I then had to leave my car OVERNIGHT which I did not plan! A simple oil change turned into me visiting Volkswagen 3 different times! False advertising, lack of communication, and bad customer service. read more

My check coolant light came on for the second time since I bought the car and since I was in the area I stopped in to either have the service department check into the light or purchase some coolant and do it myself. I was advised that the service department was closed, it's Labor Day, understandable. So I then said that I had read my car manual and that I was unsure which coolant to buy and if I could be informed on the correct coolant. The lady and the gentleman sitting there didn't budge, the just informed me again that the service department was closed. Call me entitled but, I expect when I purchase a product that the company stands by their product and takes car of their customers. This is my second Volkswagen. Neither person offered to schedule a maintenance appointment or even offer information to the service department. Mind you, when I walked in there were a total of 3 people doing nothing. I only interacted with the woman and man. Every time I go to Volkswagen and have an issue it just further solidifies my decision that I will not be purchase from The Volkswagen Group. I guess the General Manager wasn't in that day, I doubt he runs the location that sloppy. read more

We just bought a 2014 Jetta Sportwagen TDI from Wallace Volkswagen in Stuart, FL. Bruce, our sales advisor was great and the sales management was also, terrific. Bruce is a real gentleman, originally from the SF Bay Area where we used to live. I was looking for a 6-speed stick-shift Jetta Sportwagen Diesel and the national VW site said they had one in stock. Apparently, 90-95% of these Sportwagens are produced as Auto/DSG transmissions. And of the Sportwagens sold, 90% are the clean diesel TDIs. With mid-high 40 MPG on Highway driving, these are awesome economical cruisers. We received a good trade-in price for our 14 year old 3-Series BMW and are loving the economy and European feeling ride of our JSW. This is a very versatile vehicle with tons of room and well-finished. The JSW feels like an Audi inside (VW owns Audi, so not surprising.) As a sales person, I appreciated the straight talk and business-like approach at this dealership. They really want you to be happy. I'd recommend making the drive to a Stuart if you're thinking about a VW. We live 35 minutes South of this dealer and had two other VW dealerships located in our area. We're glad we drove up to Wallace. read more

I had a fantastic experience at Wallace VW. I'm in a guy in my 40's and wanted something fun. My heart was set on a GTI but my head was telling me to be practical and get a Passat. I met with George Desjardins at Wallace and we talked it through. I test drove a GTI and that was the only decision I needed. What I appreciated was that George knew the car inside and out. He knew great spots on the test drive route to show off the capabilities of the car. After the drive he walked me through all of the features on the car (this was my first VW) down to the gas cap! He told me a story about selling a GTI to a man in his 80's, so I didn't feel so bad about driving a "kid's" car. I was still a little unsure about whether to seal the deal and there was absolutely no pressure from George. He understood where I was at and I appreciated that. When it came down to price I had done my homework and knew what I wanted to pay. After a bit of back and forth (nothing painful) I felt satisfied with the offer on the table and decided to take the plunge. George set up the bluetooth in the car so my iPhone would work and showed me how to use the Sirius, which made the drive home a lot of fun. He even took my picture with the new ride so I could text my family and friends! If I had any beef at all the detailing took a little long, but the GTI looked perfect for the drive home. I am very happy with my GTI and love driving it every day. I truly had one of the best car buying experiences I've ever had at Wallace and recommend the dealer to my family and friends.
