The appetizers were incredibly fast, which they should be. The food was delicious. The service was great. The ambience was full of Cheesie metal SINES so make you laugh some make you cringe. But definitely worth the drive if you don't already live in Hastings. The pizza was pretty fire the burger I think was even better. read more

Great menu, excellent service and a wonderful variety of beers to enjoy. The menu has been improved and the ingredients used is of the highest quality. We had a large group of people on this visit and all the items ordered were incredible. The longhorn burger, fried pickles and the fresh strawberry pie were among the favorites. We had the day off and decided to take a day trip because that's what we do! This was on our list of places today so we could grab the tags in this area. We really loved it here. Street parking was free and the Downton area was adorable! We loved the atmosphere here and there was a lot to look at! We sat at the bar and ordered our beers. They were delicious and cold. We also decided on loaded fries because we had been drinking all day and it was a necessary move. Well we must have been hungry because we chowed them prior to getting a pic! Haha. Had a girl's day lunch here. I had never been before, so was excited to try it out and checked the menu ahead of time. I had it narrowed down to a few choices. The waitress was eh. It was lunch time on a Friday. I get it. She asked us if we wanted appetizers and then got sidetracked and left with out our appetizer order. Finally ordered lunch and the appetizers. Appetizers came out pretty speedy and were good. Green beaners were delicious. Pretzel nubs were just ok. The dips were too cold to even dip into. Food seemed to take a long time. And boy let me tell you. It wasn't worth the wait. At least not my entrée. I ordered the fish and chips. The "chips" fries were good. The fish was overcooked so much that the meat of the fish actually disappeared. Every one else's looked good. I wouldn't make the 40 mins drive there again. read more

First time visiting Walldorff. It was a great walking in to brewery equipment on display. We were greeted with a friendly smile but brought to a booth where the menus and wrapped silverware were tossed on the table. The booth seats have clearly sat thousands as they were cracked and in poor condition. We tried the Brewmaster burger with fries and the Longhorn burger. The fries were delicious and reminded me of a thicker cut McDonald's fry when I was a kid in the 90's. The Brewmaster burger is worth a visit alone. The bee sting bbq has a sweet flavor which pairs perfectly with the grilled onions and bacon. The Longhorn burger is a lean beef which showed in the flavor. I wouldn't recommend without extra condiments. Along with the meal we tried the BS Honey Ale and Bistro Blond. Both were delicious. read more

I gave this restaurant a 3 out of 5 starts because of the food and only the food, it was very good and there was nothing wrong. We liked the deep fried green beans and pizza. The only thing to complain about was the service. The service was terrible very slow and mean about everything asked for extra sauce and the waitress sighed. Hope they were just having a bad day. Our order took longer than what seemed normal to arrive and then it was over cooked and inedible. Fish and chips were battered beyond recognition and cooked so hard the fish was rubbery. Tried again with a sandwich and struck out again. "Shaved turnkey breast on a grilled pita was actually thin sliced cheap deli meat with gooey (not the good kind of gooey) white cheese. Pita was wringing with oil. So bummed all the pictures and reviews had us excited to drive out of our way to try this place. Don't let us ruin your good time. Maybe just a stick with beer and pizza those looked good from across the room. read more

The Veggie Pesto pizza is absolutely phenomenal!!! Pair it with a Bee Sting Honey Rye Ale. We love the Walldorff.

Always a great place to stop for food or drinks. Saturday night at 6:10pm (during March Madness) we were able to walk right in and get a table in the bar area. Very cool setting and decor. Every few months on a Saturday night they have a Comedy Club upstairs -$10. Tonight we ordered the Dijon Chicken special and I subbed out the spaetzle and wilted spinach for the cracked pepper mashed potatoes. The special also came with a house salad. Wow! So good The other meal that we ordered was the Bistro Steak which was cooked and seasoned to perfection and a side of mashed potatoes. The French onion was tasty, just a little thicker than I prefer. At about 6:15 the restaurant really picked up and we would have had a 30-45 minute wait. So don't wait too late to go. We also like the fact that they have a pool table, shuffleboard and a bunch of board games. read more

Over time they've made progress. The Pizza's are really the reason to come here, the beer is pretty good, but the Pizza is really good. The service can be slow and sometimes the servers can be seemingly vacant even when it is slow. But the pizza is definitely quality. read more

hubby and I make a weekly stop to the walldorff after hiking or running at yankee springs.... typically we sit at the bar - bar/wait staff is always friendly and attentive. food is always so good. have enjoyed the ham & cheese as well as turkey sandwich... hubby has enjoyed french dip and burger.... we've tried pizza as well. only thing we have tried we didn't care for was the appetizer nachos... wouldve liked more chicken on them. the mug club is a hell of a deal, hubby got that and takes full advantage every time we go. post covid I think they are doing their best - they have outside seating. sometimes the bar gets a little too full - people crowd in (standing or moving bar stools). that said, I do not expect the staff there to be the police. read more

Had Thanksgiving with family in Hastings and the next night we found ourselves out trying one of the local bars or maybe even two or three. I highly recommend Walldorff! We had the fried green beans and a couple of mixed drinks which all were really good! Plus the bartenders were super friendly which made for an excellent night out. The waiters are terrible and rude your food is usually like five minutes late and if it's 5 minutes late it's never even fully cooked could be incredibly improved other than that the owners are pretty nice. It takes the severs so long to serve you and seat you! read more

Stopped here for lunch when we were in town visiting. Very cool old building with a great selection of beer! The grilled cheese sandwich was really good, and I noticed people at two different tables near me also ordered it so it must be popular and I can see why! My mom ordered the onion soup and said it was made exactly the way she remembered it as a kid. We also tried the fried green beans and house chips and they were pretty good. Their menu has a ton of choices that I would want to try next time we are in town. We only checked out the one side of the restaurant but it looked like the other side had a pool table and bar. We arrived early, around 5:15pm on a Friday and the place was very empty. We were seated at a table in the bar. All staff and all customers, except one old dude, were wearing masks while walking around. I ordered the State Street Stout which was excellent while my husband ordered a Mad Mike Martini which is basically a margarita with Gran Marnier and Cointreau except when it arrived he said it tasted quite bitter and not like he remembered them from past outings. So he ordered a shot of Gran Marnier to spice it up. I ordered the "it's not possible burger" with all toppings except onion. Hubs ordered fish and chips. My burger was good but could have been hotter, it was lukewarm. Fish and chips were ok. Good service, sorry I did not catch her name. read more

As always, the food was just perfect. My wife and I had to fast overnight to have blood drawn this morning. 16 hours later we made it here. We had just enough blood left to enjoy our lunch. Our server was awesome, he checked on us every time he went by. Ask for Brandin. Very friendly and very attentive. You will not be upset. If you've never been here, come on in, have a seat, eat and enjoy yourself. It kind of reminds me of Cheers in here. I love the look. The only bad thing would be the tables being a bit wobbly and the chairs need to be reglued. They are very loose. read more

best place i have ever been in my entire life, and that's a fact! i have been all over the world and never have i ever even nearly graced a restaurant that so much as holds a candle to this joint. i mean, what's not to like? perfectly hot cuisine each and every time, an indescribable vibe of comfort and warmth - just like you're being greeted by a family member - and impeccable service and waiting like you've never seen before. i have spent most of my life in italy, and the chicken piccata pasta here blows every single plate i've had in europe out of the water. the feeling of when this delicious, perfectly al dente and gloriously seasoned pasta hits your tongue, is like no other. i have seven children and none of their births have made me as happy as this dish does. it is truly out of this world. i would live in your kitchen if i were allowed. but alas, i am on my private jet to la. my dogs are starving and they miss their mother. please never stop doing what you're doing. read more

In my experience with brew pubs, this is by far the most ordinary, and by far not worth the price. I arrived with a group of four on a bustling Friday night, we were seated after a 20 minute wait. Drinks came quickly, food as well was reasonably quick. No complaints as far as service, nor atmosphere, but that's where the plaudits end. (And notice that I haven't given any superlatives, either. Average.) Beer: Flavorless, uninspired. I started with the honey ale, and I couldn't drink it. The honey gave it a blandness that paired with something metallic in the ale to trigger my usually robust gag reflex. I passed it off to my friend and ordered the stout. I was extremely underwhelmed by that. Although dark in color, it tasted rather watery, with none of the usual pleasing woody or sweet notes that characterize stouts. I did drink this one, but reluctantly. Both beers were put on my tab, and while I did order both, I was clearly displeased with the first. I was willing to buy my friend a beer, so I didn't complain, but an extra star could have been earned with the comp of a single beer (not to mention additional tip). Food: I ordered a burger, rare, with garlic fries. It came medium well, with pepper fries. I happen to like neither of these. I was so hungry, I ate it all anyway, but I told the waitress in no uncertain terms that this needs to be improved. The waitress then asked if we'd like dessert. Again, no need to offer a free one for my trouble with the beer and food, but if she had, I might have been inclined to stay, and my friends would also have stayed. Instead, we went elsewhere for dessert. Should I return to Hastings, I will venture to try some of their other dining options. I am optimistic I can find improvement. read more

i just had a phone conversation with a female employee about how an item on my order was wrong and about how their fries have changed. She lied to my face and told me they have not changed their fries in 8 years ( I live on Jefferson and go her every single weekend). The fries for one were not the crack pepper fries we orders and two still FROZEN and cold. She tried literally said (don't get upset with me and I won't get upset with you). Disgusting. Also, the Jefferson steak she recommended I get was absolutely trash. She said she would refund 2$ from my meal and hung up on me. We visited Walldorff on 4th of July because they were one of the only restaurants open on the holiday. I was craving healthy food and was afraid I wouldn't be able to find any in a small town. I had the spinach salad (dressing and cheese on the side) and loved it! The veggies were fresh and the chicken was great. My sister and mom had the gyro and that was also very yummy. Other than that burgers we ordered were good. My family and I are not picky eaters by any means, we're always real flexible and understanding when it comes to eating out.
