A friend recommended Judd's so we decided to take a drive down to Wayland and check it out. First, thanks to my friend for the great recommendation! I looked up Judd's online before making the approximate 30 minute drive and was surprised to see they took reservations. Never knowing how busy they might be, I made one and was glad I did because when I arrived, there was only one table available besides the one I reserved. We were promptly shown to our table and greeted by our server Aubree. I would describe the menu as bar food on steroids. A full list of appetizers, salads, sandwiches, pizzas and a few "main course" items are on the menu. It was also $3.00 margarita night (and they were quite good!) We were in the mood for burgers so that's what we ordered. We both ordered burgers and upgraded to the hand cut fries. Both were excellent. We both ordered medium rare. They were cooked perfectly and tasted great. When we go to a new place, we always look around to see what others are eating. We saw a pretty good cross section of the menu all of which looked good. I asked about the hand breaded chicken tenders. Rather than tell me, Aubree brought both of us a sample. They are a real possibility when we come again. (or maybe one of us will order bluegill, and the other a "Mother Clucker" which are chicken tenders and share). I need to devote a paragraph to our server Aubree. The restaurant was packed and she took care of each table like they were her only customer. Her service was so north of outstanding I think I'd go back even if the food wasn't so good. We are locals who live about 15 minutes away and had never been to Judd's. Service and food were awesome. We had a brick oven pizza that was plenty for two people. Ambiance was a typical local bar but felt clean and tidy. It was 5pm on a weekday and the bar area was mostly single men and the dining room was mostly older couples. read more

we loved this place, but the past 2 times the service and food has been horrible. we waited over 45 minutes for our food, the place was not busy, it was 5:30pm. I went to the waitress station to ask when our food would be out, three waitress were chatting away, she said "pretty soon" then went back to talking. when the food arrive is was warm, not hot, the chicken tenders were dark, like dirty oil, and was soaked in grease it was not eatable. we used to eat here once a week, need to find a new place. Been here a few times and have always enjoyed the atmosphere/ crowd. First time I went with my wife and another couple. It was outstanding food and service all around. Everyone loved their food Chicken Tenders- large and delicious / hamburger- cooked perfectly/ South of Monterey- chicken. I had the latter with asparagus. The chicken was very lightly battered with a cream sauce of bacon and mushrooms. Cooked perfectly and was very delicious. I can't wait to return. read more

I have not been feeling well and had to go to the Dr. in Wayland today. Was hungry for soup and looked and looked and decided on Potato Bacon soup at Judds on my way home. I also saw they had 6 piece chicken so I ordered that also and I ordered curbside pickup. Judds has always had good food and is a nice, clean restaurant with a friendly atmosphere. When I arrived I called to let them know I was there. He came out to let me know he had accidentally dropped my order while bringing it out. He brought me an iced tea while I waited and remade my order. He also did not charge me for my food...he has no idea how he made my day!!! The soup was fabulous and the chicken was crispy on the outside and so moist on the inside with great flavor. But tonight 02/05/26 I fast passed The Wreck Of The Edmund Fitzgerald by Gordon Lightfoot and for whatever reason someone in charge behind the bar decided that 50 Cent was more important and skipped my song. that's my hard earned money just pissed away by the people I'm already paying to serve me. I love this place. The only reason I'm giving it a 2 star is because the management. They keep changing their menu and taking off stuff that is amazing. No longer have spinach and artichoke dip, smothered chicken (southern charm). Yet you keep nasty fried food like fish and chips. They need a new manager that knows how to run it. Stopped by here for lunch after doing an open house with another Realtor friend of mine. It's a cute little place near Gun Lake, with lots of modern updates while keeping some old touches. We both got sandwiches, I had the BLT and she had the brisket. Both were good, but I tried some of the brisket and wish I went with that. The "bacon" is advertised as pork belly, but the cut really reminded me of a sliced pork loin. There was a bacon jam on it that was cold, and cooled the overall sandwich. In my opinion, a little too much experimenting for a staple sandwich. I would definitely be back if I ever find myself in Gun Lake in the future. read more

We are frequent flyers at Judds, some of our favorites are Mother Clucker, Fish and Chips (the local blue gill is amazing), pizza and burgers. many times we have enjoyed the live music and the over all atmosphere of the place. After flying in on a late flight yesterday we were so happy to see something local on the lake open until midnight. I called at 11:20pm to see if the kitchen was still open and Jessica was so pleasant and said yes! We buzzed right over. The late night menu was perfect and freshly made. Although we were conscious of the time the staff never made us feel rushed or like we were a burden for coming in so close to closing. We went to Judd's after church Sunday. It had a nice atmosphere for early Sunday lunch. It's our first time eating there and we will be back. We were promptly seated and Alyson our waitress quickly took our drink order. We looked over the menu and made our decisions. My wife had the fried chicken tenders and I had a pizza special. My wife said the tenders were the best she has had. You could tell they were not a frozen bag product. They had a thin breading and very moist. My pizza was a hit as well. Portion size made these entrees a good value. We will definitely go back to try more offerings. read more

We walked in and the place smelled of cannabis so bad we actually asked the hostess about it. We decide to sit outside because the smell was so strong. Walking back out it was just as bad. The food was horrible. I had the Ultimate BLT ciabatta bread was so dry I had to remove it from my sandwich and the pork belly was so dry. The same was true with the po'boy seafood sandwich my husband had. The only positive thing I can say was our server was excellent. 86.00 dollars later we won't be back. Went here for the first time tonight. Was not disappointed! Not typical country GFS food. Had the Cluck Norris sandwich sans bun as I am gf. Really good chicken breast! Clean place, friendly staff. Will definitely be going back to try the burgers and gf pizza! read more
