Empty parking lot on a Saturday afternoon. This place is a joke.
    Kim H.

I wish I could give zero stars. Definitely a tourist trap. I highly, highly doubt locals come here. We were here once years ago and thought it was awful, but decided to give them another chance. It's been years and we were in the area ... So hopefully it's better? Definitely not. It's Saturday afternoon and the place is dead. I wonder why? Well ... We were seated and were at the table for quite a while until we made eye contact with someone and they asked if we were ok. Well, we haven't been asked if we wanted to order anything so no. The service is so bad my boyfriend had to go to the bar halfway through our meal to order a second round. When the meals came out the server said 'be careful bc the plates are hot'. The plates weren't hot at all. Actually the nachos were completely cold. The cheese was cold. They were not good. We were never checked on once after the food came out. Not once. Really poor service. We hate tipping less than 20%, but this is one of those times we have to. We will not give them a third try. It was such a disappointing meal. And they have a shit ton of staff all over this place so it doesn't make sense. Just poor management and they obviously don't care to change or make it better. We hate to be those people, but if we managed this place we would be hitting the roof with the lazy staff and half of them were on their phones. There are so many good breweries with great beer, great food and amazing staff. This is NOT one of them. It sucks bc some of the beer is really good. Currently waiting for the bill, which will probably never come. Now I know why they make you put a card on your tab before you can order bc some people probably leave after getting sick of waiting. The table next to us had trouble getting their check and another table had to get up to ask if someone was going to wait on them. This is basically an empty brewery! Get it together. As someone who has been coming here for at least 3 years, this was the first time where the food really didn't hit right. They must have changed the chef bc solids like poutine were prepared differently - almost like a mozzarella cheese spread across the top so that's all you tasted, vs It used to be very light melted cheese and more curds / gravy. We tried the special Swedish meatballs which were so Smokey, It overwhelmed the dish. They also switched up their pretzels and cheese, which was extra runny instead of thicker beer cheese. Beer was still solid as ever and loved.

    Reuben egg rolls.

The reuben egg rolls were overcooked. The fries were not good. They were pale in color and just didn't taste that good. My burger was very good.

Great pretzel! Not so great dipping options.

We six stopped in briefly for beers and soft pretzels. Super professional and friendly service from walking in the door. VERY good beer. Big open space -- very inviting. Pretzels were great, but oddly all three dipping sauces were too sweet, even the beer cheese. Cinnamon dip for a pretzel? No thanks. Honey mustard was waaaay too honey and no enough mustard. And beer cheese had no snap -- way too mild. The wonderful multi-herbed pretzel deserves better dipping sauces!

Great spot! Ventured here after a hike and quickly researched food online. Sampled a few beers which ended up being delicious, and the Caesar Salad and Bratwurst Sandwich... was fantastic. The group I was with confirmed how good their food was as well! Our service included ordering at the bar. Nice staff. I happen to judge food based off of timing as well, and we were on the verge of waiting just enough before we started to comment. Sometimes the longer the wait the BETTER the delivery, and this was one of those cases. Everything came out great! I'd easily come back here. Such a vibe.

What an awesome brewery!! We drove all the way from Camelback (1 hr and 15 min). It's a large brewery. Sunday they do $10.00 flights. I had their 4 IPA's. I liked them all. We are here on a Sunday and they have live music. They have a food menu, but we didn't eat. This brewery has an awesome vibe to sit and sip for a while. They have a water station to hydrate in between beers. I definitely recommend this brewery.

Had the French onion soup well done......holy good god! Amazing! Then had the sandwich "thank you Arby's". Best lunch I've had in a while . No pic of sandwich, took one bite and couldn't stop eating, sorry.

Love breweries, this one was awesome. I got the pomageddon which was cherry and pomegranate beer at 7% and it was really good. Lots of more options, also food, live band, indoor and outdoor seating and spacious

Great beers. Great prices. Great service. There's a spacious and modern indoor space as well as plenty of outdoor seating for the warm sunny days. Pretzels and trio of sauces were a nice sharing option. I gave the pork tacos from the pilot menu a try, and I wasn't a huge fan (there was much of a standout flavor). Coordinate your visit with the 2pm pretzel eating contest if you're hungry. It's just 3 of the pretzel sticks, same as the shareable plate but without the sauces. $25 gift card to be used on a future visit is the prize. If nobody else signs up, you're an automatic winner.

It was a quiet afternoon on a weekday but you can't beat the lunch special price of $10 or $12. I ordered half a salad and soup. I didn't like the cheddar beer soup, tasted too much of cheese. The salad was good with beer dressing. My bf ordered onion soup and shrimp tacos. Both of his dishes were good. I really enjoyed the Malbec lager, red wine with a lager. Carbonation was light and wasn't sweet at age. The way I like my red , dry. I ordered 4 cans to go as gifts.

    Are dogs welcome outdoors?

Hi Elaine! We do not allow dogs in either of our seating areas, including our outdoor beer garden. Only service animals are allowed.

Do you have wifi? Looking for a place I can work and eat (drink) as the house I am at has no wifi.

We do have Wifi! We are currently operating at a 25% capacity, so we highly recommend making reservations and tables are reservable for 1.5 hours. You're welcome to stay longer if there are no reservations following yours.

    Do they have TVs?

Not when I was there a few months ago but they were about to open up a new section in the back so maybe they do now.

The taproom inside feels cozy, and the two young women working were super sweet about getting us samples and drinks. Get the Endless Summer! It's a light, refreshing beer with the perfect hints of cucumber and watermelon and it is absolute heaven on a hot day. The lime lager was also excellent. We took our drinks and went out to the patio area under the tent where they were doing the pizza vending. There was a nice vibe in the air: a mix of folks and ages, but everyone just chilling and having a fun time. Bugs weren't too bad! The outdoor pizza set up is John's of Arthur Ave, which we have always had as to-go, but wow, they are bringing their A-game here with the outdoor ovens! The pizzas are INSANELY GOOD! Like, Razza-style impressive. We were seriously blown away because it's nothing like what we've had in the past from there. We ordered their white pie with ricotta and the "Bronx Bomber." DAMN. Perfect char and chew on the dough, and while we know that the ricotta on the first pie wasn't homemade, it practically tasted it. The BB pizza was outrageously delicious as well: loved the meat and banana peppers with the hot honey, which we're normally not a fan of, but it was perfect here. Cannot say enough good things about the pizza! Overall, a wonderful visit despite a heated conversation about world events at our table! Four very happy stars and we hope to have just as good of a visit next time, which will hopefully be soon.

It was founded by business partners Vince Benedetto, Justin Genzlinger, Joe Napoli, and Greg Pollock. Genzlinger is the CEO of the Settlers Hospitality Group while Benedetto is the founder and CEO of the Bold Gold Media Group. The two decided to team up when they saw that the space originally occupied by Irving Cliff Brewery was available. They teamed up with additional managing partners Pollock and Napoli; the latter owns a brewery in Atlantic City. Together they formed an LLC dubbed "D&H Brewing Company": a reference to the historic Delaware & Hudson Canal which used to run through Honesdale. The brewpub has a railroad theme which is an homage to Honesdale's rich railroad history. Many consider Honesdale to be the "birthplace of the American railroad". My family and I visited Runaway Train for lunch on a recent trip to the Poconos. We all love trains and we loved all of the railroad decor in the brewery; it almost felt like we were in an old train station. The historic train tracks right outside the brewery are the same ones that the "Stourbridge Lion" (the first locomotive to be operated in the United States) ran in 1829. After looking over the menu, I ordered the "Breakfast Burrito" (eggs, pico de Gallo, avocado and cheddar cheese in a wrap served with fries), my wife ordered the "Ranchero Salad" (crispy chicken, chopped lettuce, tomato, red onion, roasted corn, bacon, house made ranch dressing), our older son had the "Chicken Bites w/ Fries", and our younger son had the "Buttered Noodles" (penne pasta tossed in butter). We all enjoyed our choices. To drink, I ordered a beer flight that featured "Honesdale Rail Cream Ale", "Party On the Patio" (Lager w/ Lime), "Ticket To Ride" (Czech Pilsner), and "Day Tripper" (IPA). I think that the Cream Ale was probably my favorite of the bunch! Great food, great brews, great decor, and great service! We all give Runaway Train Brewhouse our seal of approval!
