I wore them walking when I got home and I had the wrong socks on. They were uncomfortable. Today I had my Feetures socks on and did the 5K and it was better. With 20% off and being marked down, they still were $95.00. Oh well, YOLO.

If you're not a name brand person their DSG brand has some pretty good options for a low cost as well!

Mostly sports gear and equipment. Upstairs was shoes, clothes and various accessories. We did browse some clothes. For sure on the spendy side but they had some cute stuff. When we got to the shoe dept it was a bit busy but they have a system where you scan the barcode of the display shoe you want to try on and you put what sizes you want to try as well as what color you are wearing so they can find you. It was a decent system, only waited 2-3 minutes after requesting my size. The checkout process was a bit slow as they only had one cashier by the mall entrance door (hopefully they had other checkout areas). The cashier was nice & kept things moving. Overall I felt like the store was organized and I liked colorful displays of each brand. Worth checking out even if you aren't into sports.

I saw some cute Bondi 9's. I researched Hoka website and they are a neutral shoe, but will work for overpronation, which my friend says I have. They were comfortable walking in the shoe dept. I also needed a new cover for my thrift store Stanley. I did score 20% off. What bothers me is they say they have a military discount but supposedly this store doesn't do that. Scheels offers 5% off. I'm glad I had a 20% discount for these spendy $174 shoes. Hope they are comfortable for my new side fun job this summer. I will be walking a lot and enjoying concerts.

I did a search and found a stadium blanket that was perfect for my needs. You can get it for curbside pickup. However, Dick's Sporting Goods online site only caters to folks with American credit cards with a US address. Instead, I looked at the in-store stock and found a bunch of blankets at this Dick's store in Burnsville. The following day, I decided to visit it. This store is a part of Burnsville Center, but you have access to this store without going into the mall. Perfect! I had no problem finding a parking spot. There were so many that I backed into one that was fairly close to the main entrance and walked in. Sure enough, I wasn't even into the store for half a minute and the blankets were staring at me by the checkout area. I wanted the green buffalo check blanket and got it. It came with a built-in handle, which I loved using while walking around. I was impressed with the Minnesota Wild apparel. It was nice to see other designs than those at the Hockey Lodge at Xcel Energy Center. The shoe section was impressive. There were plenty of running and walking shoes to choose from. It also had Doc Martens that weren't as heavy in weight as they used to be. I was ready to pay for my blanket and lined up. I got a nice young man, but he wasn't highly experienced. He couldn't find the barcode on my blanket. After a minute, he found the tag. Other than that detail, he was polite and friendly. I paid with a credit card, thanked him, and left with my blanket. I used it in frigid conditions (temperature was -23°C with a windchill of -32°C). I was bundled well. Having this wind-resistant blanket over me helped. I am still using it, but indoors. I like having it on me when I'm watching TV, so it serves more than one purpose. I love my purchase. (10)

I was looking online to see if they carry converse, as I was looking for a pair of regular black chucks. When I entered the store there were tons of staff all over which is nice to see these days. I browsed the men's section first since the shoes are pretty much the same, I couldn't find them at first so I went across the store over to the women's and couldn't find converse in women's either. I did notice the women's shoes wasn't as busy as the men's. I browsed around a bit (no one greeted me or anything in men's or women's). I did finally find them under a table display and they only had platforms for women's so I went back over to men's to take another look. I did find them and waited for a salesman to assist me. A man walked up (after me) and the shoe he wanted was next to stock room so he was helped right away. I waited and asked for help.. I was told by a rep that he had to go check on some other customers, I kept waiting and being ignored to the point I witnessed reps asking people still looking around if they needed help and finally someone came up to help me, I asked for a 7 (as I'm a 8 1/2, 9 in women's), he came back and told me the smallest size they have is an 8 which is too big. He asked who I was shopping for, I said myself and he asked me what size I wear and I said about a 9 in women's and he said "well this is men's" as if I was blind. Just didn't like the vibes all around.

Considering I know absolutely zero about running shoes, I followed that advice and had a top-notch experience. I was greeted by Kathleen, who is a total gem, and was directed to a bench to place my belongings. I then did a 3D foot scan, followed by a quick walk up and down the store so she could watch my gait. Kathleen brought the tablet over and we looked at the scans. She said a lot of foot terms and I nodded along, fully trusting the process. Shoes were suggested and then taken for a spin around the store. They were all excellent choices, but I had to choose one and went with a pair of Asics. I was so glad I had a shoe guide for the journey. Kathleen was knowledgeable and kind. The store has running accessories, apparel, and even nutrition offerings. I'm not saying I'm a runner, but I would definitely make a return visit for another pair of shoes down the road.
