This was probably my third or fourth purchase but this time, my refund took me horribly longer. The person I spoke with informed me that there was no indication that my refund was to be credited to my credit card. However, I placed my order, I specifically stated to credit my trade-in funds to my purchase. Buyers/fellow golfers beware! Their processes and communication became horrible and sub par through the years. They do not respond to emails so attempt to even reach them electronically Now, since my funds would be converted to check, it will take another two to three WEEKS to receive my check. My husband lost his pitching wedge last year on a golfing trip in Montana. He is left-handed so finding good clubs at a reasonable price are pretty tricky. Having played with the same driver for over 15 years, I decided to try out getting fitted for my new driver. I reviewed the fitting options online and went with the InFlight fitting experience for a used driver and selected Tom to be my fitter. I was able to schedule the hour appointment for the following day. I showed up a few minutes early, checked in, and met Tom. He asked me a few questions regarding brands, current driver, etc as we walked to the bay near the back of the store. He explained the process and had me start hitting drives to warm up using my current club while he searched out a few options for me to try. I ended up trying out three different drivers, hitting each about 10 times to gather statistics on distance, height, dispersion, etc. Throughout the process Tom gave me a few swing tips to help with my swing as well. Tom reviewed the data with me on each club to guide me in a choice. The overall experience was amazing and I feel more confident in the club I purchased than if I just randomly picked one based off internet reviews. I bought my Taylormade Sims ll max driver here. It literally blew up. when I returned it to 2nd swing they told me yeah that happens and it was not the right club for golfer of 100 mph or higher club head speed, but also would not help me try and get refund or replacement from Taylormade. My fitting for new driver was just looking at my simulator results which I could see myself, no help. I paid top price for new G2 that chipped the face after 3 weeks and 3 rounds. Returned to 2nd swing under their 30 days return policy they could not replace in store, could not overnight a new head, would not refit with my shaft and would only give me in store credit. They're a 2nd rate store with 2nd service. I won't go back there. read more

She gave me some good advice on drivers and helped me understand what would be best for an intermediate golfer like me. I am planning to do a formal fitting but it was nice to be able to talk to a lady who understands. Thank you, thank you for renewing my faith in 2nd swing- you rock girl! A literal golfer's paradise! I showed up a half hour early for my fitting just to browse, and I shit you not, I felt like a kid in a candy store. Like a Michelin chef in the world's best kitchen. I should've came a couple hours early, but I'd've probably ended up buying another Scotty Cameron honestly. My fitting was with Josh Buckonaga, and he's a golf god! He was very thorough with me and helped me understand all the golf science stuff about picking the right clubs for me. I went with the Sim 2 Max irons, and after a couple rounds, I'm certain this is the iron set for me. I hit my 7i as far as I hit my old 5i. No shoes for sale in store though, just so ya know. They have a million clubs though. And great prices on near mint condition used clubs! He shortened in about 10 minutes (and saved the grip!). The staff on the floor was super helpful and checking out was a breeze. Bought a set of used irons on 5/12/22. On 5/13/22 I received an email announcing their 10% off used irons. I emailed customer service to see if they could honor the discount as I had purchased the set not even 24hrs before they announced their promo. Matt in customer service responses that "Unfortunately we cannot retroactively place these promotions on the orders as they need to be put on at the time of the order. I apologize for the inconvenience." I asked if I could return them in store then rerun the purchase with the promo. To which Matt replied "It would work, but you'd have to wait for it to be put back onto the site from there and that would take a few days. They also only do in-store credit for returns at the stores so that credit would only be valid in the physical store not online." Awful customer service. Could have even offered a credit for what the 10% discount would have been. That was my first purchase at second swing and had subsequently bought a putter and SW. ill look to buy future golf gear elsewhere. read more

I'm shocked to write a 5 star review here but delighted to do so. My husband and I went to the 2nd Swing in Minneapolis and I was disgusted and disappointed by the way I was treated as a female golfer there. I couldn't get service, it was clear their people didn't want to talk to me, etc. So I almost refused to try their Minnetonka location a couple of weeks later and it was like night and day! Skylar Kistler, one of 2nd Swing's female equipment experts, helped me and was such an amazing help in picking a new driver and fairway wood, I felt like I wanted to cry! As a fairly new golfer, she was so open and easy going and a great coach in the simulator for what I was looking for. It was clear she was selling me something that would help me learn and not just the most expensive thing. I did not have a good experience. First time in I did an impulse buy on a new set of clubs that were on sale. I did not like how I hit them, but the salesman just kept saying you are down the middle, you can find your ball, even though I was hitting the driver 100 yards and my normal drive was 165. Not once did he offer to show me some other clubs. I did not take the clubs out of the bag. I came back with a friend and when we asked to have some help and that we would like to look at some used womans clubs, the person pointed and said they are over there. So we proceeded on our own and pulled some clubs to hit. Then we were told don't take too many drivers, even though there were 3 customers in the store and not another woman. One of the "salesman". and I use the term loosely kept saying what was wrong with my swing and ridiculing me and saying "Lessons, lessons, lessons, until my friend said, she knows how to golf. At that point, I decided to return the unused, unswung clubs for money back and not store credit and I will never buy anything from this store, ever. My goal was to leave my clubs in California and have a second set here in Minnesota. I will still do that, just not with company and certainly not with this store. Monday called to put a Nike Oz left handed putter on hold, told me I had until 5pm Tuesday to pick it up. Drive an hour to the Minnetonka location only to find that they sold the putter online, while it was on hold for me. Nobody bothered to call and tell me. Wasted 2 hours of my day, and all they said was "sorry" ask for a manager to call, and that didn't happen. I guess I'll spend my money at Golf Galaxy. Not happy with the customer service, and in the business climate we are in you would expect better customer service. read more

The trade in process took several weeks to complete. 2nd swing devalued one of the clubs I traded in. when I attempted to purchase the new driver which was supposed to be in stock I was informed that the driver was not in stock. it was going to be several weeks before the driver would be available. I canceled the order and purchased the driver from The PGA store. I will never deal with 2nd Swing again. read more

Had my first ever fitting last week with Brian. All I can say is that I was blown away at the one on one time I got, the advice, and the customized recommendations that he provided based on the data generated from my swings. I ended up getting a full bag of used clubs, and since I purchased something, the fitting was free of charge. He was very knowledgeable, professional, and I would highly recommended him! Other big box golf stores that sell new clubs only, have simulator equipment that looks like it is 10 years old, while the ones at 2nd swing look state of the art. There is no comparison here. Their fitting area had a lounge feel, and it would be nice if it was even bigger to host a group of your friends to have fittings at the same time and hang out. They did have 3 or 4 simulators, but a bigger area to hang out would be cool. I've been to the Minnetonka store a few times before my fitting with a couple friends to look around, and each time I was overwhelmed by the help offered by the sales people. I was never pressured into buying anything, they always had answers to my questions, and were able to make recommendations of brands and models based on the traits I was looking for. Bottom line...if you're looking for new clubs (new or used), go and get a fitting to make your investment worth while. Then if there is a club setup that you want and they don't have it in stock, they can search inventory at their others stores and ship the clubs directly to you. This experience is just something that you won't get buying online alone. I'll post this same review on Yelp, Google and FB because I think it's worth other people knowing about this place. read more

I had a great experience at 2nd Swing being fitted for a set of clubs in the Tour Van by James Tracy. I used to play a good game but gave up the sport for other pursuits for almost 20 years. James was very skillful in introducing me to 21st century golf technology! And boy has it changed! The ball is still round, but that's about it. His approach was very systematic and professional and I am very happy with my purchase, having kept in budget too! Highly recommend a fitting if you are looking to buy a set. The only option for the true golf club buying experience in the Twin Cities. I definitely recommend scheduling a fitting in their Tour Van. They take you next door into a golfer's dream of a laboratory to break down your swing, identify your miss, and provide you with the club recommendations to minimize that miss. If you do end up making a purchase, the fitting is free. They will work under your parameters, e.g. your budget, used vs. new, specific brands, etc. Through this process, they force you to think critically about your own game and what you truly want to improve upon, matching those desires to the attributes of the clubs they have you try out. If you do not schedule a formal fitting, give yourself enough time to be fit on-the-fly by one of the many representatives working the sales floor. If you ask (and you may not even have to ask), they will gladly let you try out a few clubs with a fitter in one of the many swing bays within the store itself. They will work with you and make recommendations, though not to the same extent as the formal fitting, as they often have a busy store. That said, I did not feel like they were forcing me along in order to clear the stall for the next customer. Their selection of clubs cannot be beat, especially when it comes to used clubs. If you are in search of one particular club to fill a gap in your bag, this is the place to go. For beginner or casual golfers, I also highly recommend 2nd Swing. My girlfriend was new to the game a few years ago, and we headed to 2nd Swing to get her a few clubs. We left with a decent used ladies set for under $200. She has since gotten much better and will be heading in for an upgrade soon. I actually live in Wisconsin, but I save all my major golf club purchases for when I am back in the Cities, just so that I can head in to 2nd Swing. read more

Terrible service, RUDE staff - I walked in with the full intention of buying one of three specific drivers, and when I asked two different sales associates if I could swing them, I was told that hitting balls was only for people that were serious about buying (I'm not sure what about me came off as not serious). I was then told to go find 'the guy in the red shirt' and then ignored by two additional salespeople when asking for help. After browsing a little more with no help, I left and bought the exact same club at a competing store. All they had to do was be the minimum amount of courteous and helpful and I was prepared to give them my money, but instead they basically asked me to go spend that money elsewhere (which I did). Will not be back to such a poorly managed, customer unfriendly store, which only gives attention to a very specific customer type. read more

Brian did a great job going through all the options before zeroing in on fine tuning the spec's for the putter I ultimately settled on. I want to describe my incredible golf fitting experience at 2nd Swing Golf as it was awesome!  First, my background.  I am a guy that likes to figure stuff out on his own.  I want to watch advice on YouTube and hear what people have to say about which clubs are best.   I have access to a golf simulator, so I think I knew what I needed for my next golf set (in terms of swing speed and shafts).  I am also skeptical of salespeople as I am afraid of being the sucker that was upsold something I did not need or something I did not want -  so, five years ago, when I bought my set of clubs, I did it on my own. I thought I did a pretty good job with the information and money I had. I was a bit intimidated by the upfront fee of a fitting.  This fee is applied to the purchase of clubs, but what if I did not like what was recommended to me during my fitting?  I also did not want to find out that the only thing I hit well was a crazy exotic shaft that was more than the cost of the club.  But, in the end, I had to get advice as I just felt I was too inconsistent with my clubs, and I have gotten to the level where I knew it was not just me.  I also could not figure out why I could easily hit my 7 iron 165 yards, yet my driver 240.  It just did not make sense.  I was going to Dick's Sporting Goods and testing out clubs on the launch monitor, and I was essentially going to buy a similar but new set, to what I owned.  I was in Minneapolis, and a friend told me to come to 2nd Swing Golf, so I booked an appointment for my first ever golf fitting. I arrived at my 2nd Swing Golf fitting with my Driver and my 7 iron.  I knew I  wanted a new driver and was leaning towards the TaylorMade Sim2, but I also like the Callaway Mavrik.   I was also open to anything that would make my golf game better, but I am a brand loyalist and enjoyed my previous Callaway set.   If my driver fitting went well, then maybe I would entertain the idea of buying a set of used high-end irons or new irons. I met my Golf Fitting Master Josh (great name), and he had me warm up with my driver on the TrackMan.  I was giving him feedback on when I hit the ball well.  Overall, I was hitting my driver at my baseline. Some went straight, a few left, a few right, and most were around 230-250 yards.   Josh pointed out that the first thing we needed to work on was getting my spin down.  My driver was losing distance as the ball spin was way too high.   My shaft flex was also not right for me based upon my swing speed. He then asked which driver I wanted to hit first.  I asked to hit the TaylorMade Sim 2, and he made some adjustments to the club hosel before handing the club to me.  I instantly got 30-40 yards more on each drive, and I was tighter with my grouping.   He then tried various shafts with the same driver head.  He then set up the Mavrik.  Repeat.   I then asked for his recommendation on an alternative brand, and he brought me a Ping.  Repeat.  I am not sure how many different shafts we tried for each clubhead and subtle tweaks, but we tried them all. I was crushing both the Ping and the TaylorMade after both had been adjusted for my individual swing.  It was evident to me what I was not getting from my old driver!  I then had the sinking fear of what the cost was going to be as I assumed that these shafts I was trialing had to be more expensive as they were not the stock shaft I could get from Dicks.   In the end, there was no cost difference.   I was literally shocked! These were simply options that could be ordered from the manufacturers with the same baseline cost.  Nuts!  I then picked out the grip I liked, and my new driver was ordered. So, in the end, I bought the same club I was planning on buy online, only it was specifically adjusted for my swing speed, with the correct shaft and it was the same cost... why did I not do this before??? Plus, I was able to directly compare it to alternatives that I was considering, and I now know that this club is the best for me currently. I then did the same setup for a fitting for a new set of irons - trialed some used, some new, and then various shafts.  My old clubs were hosing me!    I would highly recommend getting a custom fitting and 2nd Swing Golf as it is the place to go when you need to know the best clubs for you are. I felt zero pressure to buy a specific brand, and I also knew that they were trying to get me the clubs to help me be better at golf. read more

If there were more stars to give, these guys have earned them. I came in recently looking for a new set of irons as I have been playing Eye 2's since I was 12 and felt it was time for an upgrade. They were not jumping all over me with the "oh yeah you definitely need something new" they were helpful in finding out what I like about what I have and what I am looking for in something different. They were also great about staying in my budget. I finally decided to stay with ping and so we went through the fitting. Once a club was recommended we searched for options within that new and used. After asking how much tech could there be between last years model and this years, I went with the used clubs. Everyone there was very friendly and extremely helpful. I took a trip with my new irons to Arizona and once I got some of the kinks out I could tell I was hitting the ball more solid. This group is great and I definitely recommend them and I loved that I was supporting a local business. read more

If you're a golfer, or not a golfer, this is the golf store for you. I'm always very impressed with this store, the employees and the products they offer. I have purchased both new and used clubs at this store - the customer service is the same. The employees take the time to fit you into the right clubs, rather than doing the minimum to get you out the door. The Minnetonka store has five simulators in the main store - there are ample spots to try out a few different clubs to find the right one for you. The employees are golf and golf club nuts. Most of the employees have gone to numerous trainings and are certified to fit many different club brands. This is a definite advantage, as they are able to try not only numerous club head and shaft combinations, but they can do it from a variety of manufacturers. I recently had a fitting in their new facility, Tourvan. I was fitted for new irons - I spent over an hour hitting golf shots with different shaft and head combinations. Brian (one of their fitters) explained the characteristics of each club head and shaft during the fitting process. I was very impressed with their facilities, but more impressed with his knowledge of the process, clubs and how to best match clubs with my golf swing.
