While my PRK eye still has some healing to do it was nothing like the internet made it out to be, and the team does everything to ensure you are comfortable and not in any pain. I have been working with the Katzen team since March of this year when I went in for my first evaluation. Because I was a long time RGP contact user, it took me a bit more time to be approved while only wearing glasses. Fast forward almost 3 months later, and I am writing this review without anything but my corrected eyes! It is truly amazing and the procedure was quick and painless (though you couldn't have told my nerves that the day I had it done). If you are on the fence about visiting Katzen Laser, DO IT. I did a lot of research before finally making the call for an evaluation and my only regret is not doing it sooner. I wouldn't trust my eyes anywhere else. Special thanks to Dr. McCracken as well for seeing me through the whole process, and Julie for her awesome bedside (or chair side in this case) manner! The whole team is amazing and now that this process is over, I will miss going in and SEEING everyone! Definitely an awesome team and experience.

I ended up having to do three total consultations. the first determined that i was indeed a candidate for lasik but they wanted to see me back after a week of no contact use. i came back for my second appointment to see if i was also a candidate for contoura but my eyes had been extremely dry due to allergies so i had to make my third consultation appointment. that week, i hit up costco and got the giant box of eye drops and used those religiously. third consultation appointment and they told me that my eyes looked much better. lasik was still on the table but my eyes didn't quality for contoura. it's an additional charge so i know they're not pushing for things just to get more money out of me. while i would have opted for contoura, it's a relief to know you're getting what will work best for your eyes. day of lasik surgery went smoothly. met the surgeon (dr insler) for the first time. he was very kind. some might take him as coming off a bit brass but he was just very efficient. he was concerned about doing lasik because i have botox in my forehead and i can't move those muscles much to widen my eyes. he wanted to do prk instead. after dr fiedler rechecked my eyes, i asked her if we could at least lay me down and see how my eyes did to try lasik. she was my saving grace and somehow dr insler agreed. actual procedure was painless and he was able to do lasik without any issues. the surgical staff gave me a teddy bear and a blanket after i laid down. it was a comforting feeling. dr insler talked me through the entire procedure, step by step, and was extremely reassuring. afterwards, dr fiedler checked my eyes and said everything looked great. she repeated my drop instructions and i went home to sleep for a few hours. the next day is the first followup appointment. it was a very fast in and out appointment. literally maybe 10 minutes. they check your eyes and your vision. my left eye was already at 20/20 at 24 hours later. my right eye still showed a little inflammation but they said that is completely normal and not to worry. my next appointment is 5 days post lasik and i can not wait to see how much my eyesight will have improved by then. i have absolutely no complaints about lasik vision institute or any of the staff. they were all amazing. from the girls up front, to randy (who always remembered my name when i came in), to the nurses who did my exams and held my eyelashes up and out of the way for me lol, to all of the doctors on staff. i am so so grateful to everyone at LVI. The wait times were as expected and always quicker than they said. pricing was amazing for eyesight that works! they never tried to upsell me on anything. i would go back a million times over. hopefully this review helps some of you that have any reservations! i know i got nervous right before and it was all for nothing!

I did not need readers for my phone, computer, or daily work. My job requires me to be on a phone and computer about 8 hours a day, so near vision is extremely important to me. After surgery, my near vision is significantly worse and now I need readers just to function at work. Never once was it clearly explained to me that correcting my farsightedness/distance vision at my age could make my close vision worse or cause me to need readers. If I had been clearly told that, it absolutely would have affected my decision. In my opinion, the office seemed much more focused on selling me LASIK than making sure I fully understood the risks and lifestyle tradeoffs. This was not a small detail -- needing readers all day for work is a major change in my quality of life. I understand there is a healing period, but my issue is with the lack of clear counseling before the procedure. Patients deserve to know if a surgery could leave them worse off for the things they do every day. At this point, I am requesting my full records, including my consent forms, pre-op prescription, surgical target for each eye, post-op measurements, and any documentation showing whether readers, presbyopia, monovision, or blended vision were actually discussed with me before surgery. Very disappointed and would strongly caution anyone considering LASIK here to ask very specific questions before agreeing to anything.

Dear Dr. Cohen and the entire team at Cohen Laser and Vision Center,…read moreI am writing this letter with deep gratitude and the immense satisfaction of someone who has regained a sense of freedom I thought was long gone. After undergoing LASIK refractive surgery at your clinic, I can confidently say it has been one of the most life-changing decisions I have ever made. From my very first consultation, I knew I was in the best possible hands. It is natural to feel a bit of nerves when it comes to eye surgery, but your team's professionalism, warmth, and transparency immediately put me at ease. Thank you for taking the time to explain every technical detail, answering all my questions with patience, and providing the peace of mind I needed to move forward. The Precision of the Procedure: The surgery was incredibly fast and efficient. It is clear that you utilize world-class technology combined with elite surgical skill. I was prepared for some level of discomfort, but to my surprise, the entire process was painless, and my recovery has been remarkably smooth and trouble-free. Every staff member treated me with genuine care, focusing not just on the clinical results, but on my comfort as a patient. Waking up today and seeing the world in perfect clarity without reaching for my glasses is a feeling I cannot adequately describe. Thank you for restoring my daily comfort and for the impeccable standards you maintain at your practice. I will not hesitate to recommend Cohen Laser and Vision Center to anyone seeking excellence in vision care. You are a true example of how medical expertise and human compassion should go hand in hand. With my sincerest thanks, Raycel Pupo

I ended up with 20/10 vision and I swear colors are more vibrant. I feel like telling the world. At 33, I didn't know what to expect as a result. Maybe 20/20 at best but I never imagined it to be this good! Keep in mind that the first week after surgery is the worst of it, and for me that was only a few days of slight to moderate discomfort. Yesterday, I input my prescription into Zenni to order new eyeglasses by the end of the year and it triggered an error response. Not only had the good (ha ha) doctor written a prescription for a far-sighted woman, (+ in front of the number), the numbers were exactly opposite of what my previous (fabulous) eye doctor in California had prescribed! I left a message for Dr. Wallshein and told him that I expected to hear back from him or I would write bad reviews. I got a call from someone in his office who barely spoke English. Apparently, his time is too valuable to speak to his patients. On my second appointment at this office, it looked like they were ready to make me play the same waiting game and make me pay for the privilege. The staff is rude and arrogant. I asked them why I had an appointment to begin with. They told me to speak to the tiny little man who takes payments. He was extremely rude. I told the staff that they were all rude. Little man told me to leave. I told them I would never be back. Skip this joker. I highly recommend Florida Vision with offices in Port St. Lucie, Stuart, West Palm Beach, etc. They are professional, friendly, and did a great job on my cataracts years ago and following a retina problem that I had back then. And they treat you well even if you are on Medicare/Medicaid.

My results are fantastic, but my procedure experience was not great at all and I think it's fair to tell my story. TL;DR: -All staff are super nice and professional -Great LASIK results -Should be more discounts available -Unorganized and excessive pre-op steps -Surgery appointment process is not ideal -Possible improper dosage of anti-anxiety medication? -Procedure appointment lasted 5 hours...yes 5 hours for a 10 minute procedure -Felt disrespected and forgotten on procedure day - - - Millennium Laser Eye Center is by far one of the most expensive laser eye centers in the state. The miniscule "discounts" you may be given at any point do not change the fact that you can go to other reputable laser eye centers and pay over $1000 less for LASIK. But I chose Millennium knowing about the high premium because I wanted the absolute best experience and results. Building up to the procedure you will have about 8 phone calls, 10 emails, 2 consultations, and the list goes on. It didn't matter that my eye doctor submitted my pre-op and labeled me as a perfect candidate. I still had to go through a long and monotonous process. And during these events you will be in contact with several different representatives all of whom do not talk to each other. So you may complete or confirm a process with one, and the other will ask you to complete that process a few days later. They were all so nice, but it came off very unorganized. I think one employee per client would be much smoother. Up to this point, I would still give Millennium 5 stars, but my procedure appointment was an absolute nightmare. First off, you can't schedule it yourself like an adult. They email you the day before and you just have to drop everything and accept it. I was given an afternoon appointment and was told to expect it to be 3 to 4 hours. Seems like a long time to set aside for a 10 minute procedure but I assumed they just estimate so long just in case things are running behind. Me and my brother left work early to be on time for the appointment. We got to Millennium 30 minute prior to my appointment and were called into an exam room after about 45 minutes. Things are going very smooth and I'm super excited. I explained to a staff member that I was super anxious because I had never had a medical procedure before and asked for them to give me something for that, and she said she would be right back with it. My whole family is watching the live stream now waiting for me to get my procedure. One hour passes. Two hours pass. Three hours pass. Around the 4th hour of sitting in this super hot exam room and seeing patient after patient get their exams, someone entered the room and I was given one valium. I didn't know this at the time, but when I told my doctor that they gave me (6'2" adult male) one valium he laughed and said that would do nothing to help someone who was so stressed and anxious. Perhaps they have extra strength valium, but I didn't notice any difference in my anxiety which I'm sure adds to my feeling that this appointment was a complete nightmare. One more hour goes by and I finally get called for my procedure. Yes, my brother and I waited FIVE HOURS. We left work early for no reason, lost money, had not eaten in 9 hours, and made our family sit through hours of exams from people who I assume must have shown up and had appointments after us unless they were all hiding in the back. If they had told me that my exam was at 7:30 I would have happily have shown up at 6:30 or even 5:30 to do whatever last checks they wanted. But I felt absolutely forgotten and disrespected to be left in that exam room for 5 hours. We received no apology at all from the doctor, but he did ask me to write a review which was a pretty awkward moment. I know friends who have had amazing experiences here and they were all stunned when I said I had to wait 5 hours, so it may be very possible that I just got them on a bad day. The only explanation I can think of is that they literally forgot about us in that exam room. I got home about 6.5 hours after I entered that office and had a post-op the next day. My post-op was literally 13 hours after my procedure. I'm pretty sure I wasn't even supposed to be driving by the next morning yet, but I'm just glad it's over now. Sorry for the bad review, but whatever caused my poor experience needs to be fixed or I cannot recommend Millennium, regardless of how well I can see now.
