Well I certainly felt this was the place to have that important surgery after visiting. It's a very busy office but with a very orderly process in place and everyone seems very competent in their roles. I was given a very comprehensive evaluation and feel confident in my choice. Very frustrating experience with billing transparency. I paid my copay at the visit and later received an unexpected additional bill for testing that was never clearly explained beforehand. Patients should not have to find out about extra charges weeks later in the mail. If I had been properly informed, I would have asked more questions before agreeing to anything. I have to imagine the doctors are competent. However, based on my experiences, the office management and operation need significant improvement. For lack of a better work, I will just call it SLOPPY. (a) On my last visit, the first staff member gave me eye drops for my dry eyes and then immediately attempted to test my vision when I still was blurry from the drops. (b) After being given eyedrops to dilate my pupils, I waited for 50 minutes without anyone letting me know why the wait was so long. I then inquired and was told there were two patients still ahead of me! Nobody should have to carve out 2+ hours for a visit, unless there is an "emergency." I explained I would need to reschedule because of another engagement I had that day. They insisted on squeezing me in - which isn't right - but that was there choice since they had already dilated my eyes. (d) When I was finally taken to the exam room, a staff person insisted on giving me additional drops for a glaucoma test. I explained I had a glaucoma test two months previously. She said they do the test for every appointment. She gave me the drops, but I was never given a glaucoma test! read more

I'll make this quick the doctors have done a phenomenal job on my eyes, keeping me from serious problems and improving my vision to wonderful levels. One thing that has not been mentioned in the reviews is how wonderful the staff here is very kind, professional professional. It's like a well oiled machine. When I have an appointment I know they're going to take care of all my tests, to the best of their ability. Dr Friedman did my eye surgery in 2021 for strabismus. I had surgery as a child but I was having double vision with glasses that had prism (from another doctor). After my surgery I was able to see things pop out at me (depth perception) that I could never see before even after my surgery as a child. Also, I took my son who is on the spectrum to see Dr Friedman. He and his staff were very patient and helpful. He is very experienced and a wonderful doctor. read more

I found the staff professional and courteous. My problem is with Dr Schecter. I found home to be abrupt and, in my opinion, incompetent. I was convinced laser surgery was the way to go and would only cost $3,950. My eye didn't seem right after surgery and Dr Schecter confirmed a piece of my lens was still in my eye and I would need another surgery to correct. After my second surgery my eye still was not right and he told me I have a film over the lens that needs to be removed. I told him I am going to a different ophthalmologist and would need the doctor's notes. When I went to the receptionist I was told it would be a few minutes as the doctor was writing them. After another few minutes I was informed he left without signing them. I have tried to speak with the office manager to discuss and she refuses to answer my calls. To sum up, stay clear of Dr Schecter if you cherish you eyes. read more

My husband is a vet and is vilified for making people wait for even 20 minutes while he has an emergency and has to save an animals life. Go figure. Best experience with eye dr ever had catarac surgery I was very nervous they put my mind at ease and my vision is 20/20 now

Not happy with this clinic. My parents had been going for a few years. Then they're doctor Gorscak was no longer available so we selected Dr. Naids. Staff member had my mom call me and told me the doctor would call me after he completed my parents exam. Never got a call that day. I followed up the next day and was told it was too late for the doctor to call me and would call me the next day as he was in surgery all day Tuesday. Well we are a week and two days later and still never received a callback. Meanwhile my father was told he would need to have cataract surgery as soon as possible. Whatever occurred in that exam room that Monday he was there, caused my father to have increased eye discomfort. Since was not comfortable having my parents return to an office that doesn't keep the family informed we were able to get an emergency appointment that Friday ( same day) at Rand Eye and they took great care of him there. Also my mom doesn't hear but her others senses work well and she didn't feel comfortable with the new doctor at Florida Eye. Will not return to this office. read more

If you have a real serious eye problem this is the place to go. I found out about Dr. Schechter because he did surgery on my wife's eye to remove a small cancer tumor that he found. Later on I was having problems with my eye and found out I had developed what basically amounts to some eye callouses from the sun and dirt getting to my eye and turns out he is very knowledgeable in treating that specific problem as well. On top of his knowledge and skills, Dr. Schechter has a good bedside manner which is rare in Palm Beach County. Very funny and nice guy. read more

This was a horrible experience. THEY ARE NOT KID FRIENDLY. At first they didn't want to see my child because of his age, then put me on hold for 10 minutes came back and tried to reschedule 2 months out a few days before we were supposed to see them. The lady also kept insisting we go to another physician. This is heart breaking I've been struggling to get him seen for months and even with a referral they didn't want to see my child. Referred to Dr Schechter from my Optiction ( Dr. Butler of Eye Care Professionals ) after serious eye pain. Within an hour I was seen by Dr Schechter. What a great experience, I was treated within minutes of arrival. All the staff was great, The Doctor spent time with me to explain my condition, which was serious and the course of treatment was to be seen each day. He was even going out of town for the weekend and made sure that I was seen by another great Doctor at the Wellington office, also a great experience. The staff was exceptional particularly Danielle, who went above and beyond. Would highly recommend Dr Schechter, he is the most caring Doctor that I have ever come in contact with. read more

One star for conveniently off I95....... This place is a FACTORY.15 people in waiting room with 12 chairs! Went with my 39 year old son. Had to make 2 visits in April....Over 3 hours each time Wait,seen by tech,wait,seen by another and so on.5 mins with Dr Katz after all tests.done.Bill $800.Oh,insurance didnt cover....no real solid diagnosis...you MAY have a cataract developing... Last week,after the rt eye got worse,made another appointment.Yet another couple of hours,ending with a 20 min wait "on deck" for Dr Schecter to give us HIS 5 minutes. Yes, a cataract, I recommend a $2700 dual lens.See my co-ordinator......(to pay her) OK, waited again....You can have cheap,free lens,or our $500 HD lens or the $2700 lens.Decided on the HD lens. Phone call a couple of days ago from an unknown doctor....you have astigmatism...need a $700 toric lens(first I heard of this problem). OK, returned today at 9.15 am for surgery....pay $700 now and do you have a living will? Am I going to die here? (maybe of old-age....),so far at $2550 out of pocket. 30 mins later over hear Dr Schecter has emergency,running 90 mins late and my early,first first appt ....I am now # 5 ......is now 2 hrs late ie a total of over 4 hours for this appt. These are the best ophthalmologists in Palm beach county. The woman who watches my son was having problems with Her eyes. She was seen by three of these amazing doctors and the results are phenomenal. I wouldn't trust my eyes to anyone else. It is a busy practice because of the outstanding doctors that are in it, but it is a very professional office where patients come first. I highly recommend Florida Eye. read more

it took 2 1/2 to 3 hours which i guess is possibly common for all the tests. The biggest complaint i have was the temperature of the doctors exam room. It was maybe 60 degrees. My grandmother is 100 years old and very thin. She was freezing and when i commented on the temperature of the room i was told it was for the equipment? I've checked online and don't believe thats true.....so, bring a jacket or sweater.... and a bag lunch.....and a book. read more

I spent over $5k to look exactly the same. He didn't do anything to improve my lazy eyes/ strabismus. Nothing. He gave me eye drops that I was allergic to after telling everyone no nsaids. No bedside manner. Filthy carpet in the boyton office. He's a salesman and liar. He wants people to spend more money on multiple surgeries. He told me I would have immediate results, lie. He said my eyes would be straightened 90-100%, that was a LIE. I pretty much burned money. I've been crying every day since that surgery. My twin went to Bascom Palmer in Miami and had a great result. Run away from this doctor. He needs to update his method for surgery and use ADJUSTABLE STITURES. Run away to Miami. They take Medicaid. I'm doing this to save at least one person from making the mistake I did. read more

The only eye practice I would go to! My father in law is a well known ophlamologist in ATL and he checked them out when I had a torn retina and said he trained with the best. I went in on a regular eye exam and floaters and Dr. Schechter took care of the tear right then and there, My parents had an emergency eye problem and they stayed late to see him.
