Replaced alternator that DID NOT NEED REPLACING and charged me close to $1800. I took old…read morealternator that they took off to two different places and had it checked and there was nothing wrong with it. It had the same problem within a couple of days and I had to take ot to another place to get it fixed at the cost of $850. It had nothing to do with the alternator. I called to speak with the owner, David, to be told he wouldn't be back until the next week and they would have him call me back. Of course I've never heard back. This Spartanburg location is a joke. I will not drop this until something is done about these dishonest practices.

Volkswagen of Spartanburg almost single handedly restored my confidence in the company. I got a basic oil change and tire rotation at their service center. From the moment I walked in the door, all employees were incredibly professional. They advised that the oil change is going to take longer than usual and apologized for that. The oil change didn't take that long. You know the really amazing thing? This shop didn't stop to waste my time trying to upsell me on further repairs. They asked "Is the oil change and tire rotation all we're doing today?" and actually respected my answer of "yes, please." They simply did their job, got me out of there, and printed their recommended service items that weren't tackled on my receipt. Holy crap, I don't remember the last service center that identified issues but didn't try to upsell me on them. This Volkswagen dealership is amazing. Is it enough for me to buy my next Volkswagen from them? Honestly, probably not. I have no desire to drive another Volkswagen. That said, as long as I'm stuck with my VW, they will be my go-to for any repairs/maintenance that I need.
