What an excellent employee. He checked the battery and obviously it was no good. I told him I was going to purchase a new one. The store was fairly busy considering it was a Saturday afternoon. He checked for any rebate; there wasn't any but because I had purchased the previous one from Autozone not the same store he was able to deduct a substantial amount. Nice savings! I would have replaced the battery myself but I wasn't dressed for it. So I asked if he would do the favor to replace it, he was a little hesitant because they were quite busy but he brought some tools and in no time my car was back on the road. They ended…read moreup sending it our to a different mechanic to fix with out my permission. 2 weeks later i was having the same problem. i took it back and they said they could not do anything about it. i ended up taking my vehicle to a certified mechanic. he took pics of all the glued and taped work they did. and not to mention it took them 3 months to get it done. i asked if they could pay for a rental and they refused. i asked to get reimbursed for a portion of the repairs so i can get the repairs done correctly. they refused. Until i threatened them with a law suit then they budged a bit. but i recommend no one take their vehicle here. they are ripoffs and scammers.

I made an appointment over the phone to have the tire repaired the following day at 8:30 in the morning. I got there at 7:45 am and entered the customer area. I mentioned to the man behind the counter about my appointment and that I would wait for the car. He informed me that there was a car ahead of mine, there was only one mechanic working, and he was not sure how long it would take to get mine done. I told him I would wait for the car and went to sit down in the waiting area. There was a lady waiting for her car to be finished already sitting in the waiting area. I looked for a seat but the remaining seats were covered with floor mats waiting to be put down on the floor. Not wanting to crowd the lady by sitting next to her, I decided to leave. I had the tire repaired by a shop down the street in 30 minutes. I know that CarX corporate had come to the Whiting business and had started making changes to the systems and files that the previous owners had been using. This had really upset the people working there and there was friction going on. Next thing I knew was the business was under new management and the usual workers were gone along with the usual good service and family like atmosphere that had prevailed. I, for one, will no longer have my vehicles serviced there.

I called at 2pm and was told in 1 hour someone will call me and nothing, I called back at 4:30 and was then told someone will call me in 15mins and still nothing. Let me say this , DO NOT make an online appointment it's a complete crock and a waste of time. Compliment's to the gas dock. Last Saturday, 06/07/25 I brought the boat in for the season. I…read morepulled up to the gas dock to top off the tanks and do a quick pump out. As I approached the dock several young women spilled out of the office ready to help grab lines and help tie off the boat. They handled it effortlessly despite the size and weight of the boat. They offered to pump fuel and handle the pump out which I would never expect anyone to do. Before I had time to get involved they were handling it like a NASCAR Pit Crew! Upon departure my bow line was tied to the rail and I was given shove off the dock to assist in the departure. These young women were very skilled, knowledgeable, and very helpful. Their actions and pleasant demeanor were very professional and appreciated. In addition, the women in the office were very friendly and quick to check me in. I can tell you that after 20 some years in Chicago I've never experienced this type of friendly service. The dock workers in the golf cart even waved to say hello and see if I needed anything. I must start out saying I got out of work at 430 on a Sat afternoon. Discovered I had a flat in the…read moreparking lot at work. Not many shops open at this time on the weekend. Luckily, I had a retired friend who knew of this tire shop and had done business w/ them. I was fighting to get my tire off and luckily after almost 45 min of battle someone showed up w/ a sledge hammer to knock the tire off the hub. I put my spare on and go to this tire place. They were only open till 6 and my retired pal took the tire to their shop ahead of me. When I arrived the owner showed me a piece of sheet metal that was in the tire and he & his son were putting a patch on. They wanted time for glue to dry. I assured them I was in no hurry to leave. They put my spare tire back in the harness underneath and cranked it up to its closed position and locked it up. Eventually the tire was patched and wheel was put on my car & has been fine since. Damages? $15. Good service, price was fine and they put my spare back in place. I told the guy, hey you were worth $20 today so I gave him a 20. Go here. Reasonable & they will take care of you.
