Today, October 8, 2018 I shopped at my local Boonton, N.J. Walmart as I often do. There was only one cashier instead of the usual four or five. I learned from the manager that the missing cashiers are no longer employed. They have been let go in favor of self check out machines. Shame on Walmart! Let me tell you about this shitty ass Walmart. They locked up all perfumes and now you can't buy it unless it's unlocked .I I get locking it But this is the third time that I have been here where I couldn't find anyone to unlock the perfume. The management can't even answer the phone called this place multiple times no one answers like I just don't understand what is going on here. read more

Never order anything online from this company!! I ordered a tv the screen came to me broken. I called they want to refund I said is it possible for me to just take it to the Boonton Walmart to get another tv. You'd think Walmart is Walmart. The guy on the phone said yes they'll be able to do that for you. I called the location to make sure they can of course they can't. So I said fine transfer me to your electronic to see if they have the same tv I purchased so I can go purchase that tv while I wait for my refund on the broken tv. I waited 10 mins to finally speak with a person on the phone, she was very short with me and then said she only had the larger size I asked if she could give me the number to the cedar knolls location she said look it up Online and hung up the phone. I've been in customer service for a very long time and if I ever spoke to someone this way it would never go over well. I always have to search for someone to help me when I go to this location too, My bf the other day was looking for a body spray and they had them all locked up. We tried to find someone to help us we did and he said he's not the guy and kept on going. People in this store are rude! read more

I hate Wal marts I general but somehow this one seems to get worse and worse as years and days go on. Everything and anything about it sucks. Don't ask for help your better off finding a customer because not one employee knows anything it takes 5of them to figure out one problem and then you find out that they're some how still wrong. read more

Walmart in Boonton has the worst customer service I have ever experienced. Not only do the employees gang up on you when you try to return a BROKEN item which they originally incorrectly overcharged me for but they then proceed to talk amongst themselves in a foreign language- not okay when they are obviously talking about you! I will never be back to this Walmart and am appalled that such a huge organization doesn't have better customer service practices in place. To date, I have always had a pleasant and positive experience at this Walmart. The staff has always been helpful -- even offering to assist me to my car when overloaded with purchases. I have also met the manager -- who is approachable and friendly. My only qualm, is that they do not have a meat department in this particular store. read more

Probably the worst customer service I've ever had to deal with. I was put on hold at least 5 times. FIVE TIMES. Because not even the manager knows what the fee for a money order is. Then, when I tried to call back, they transferred my call to the electronics department. Avoid calling them at all cost. read more

Pretty horrible store and experience. It's very unorganized and seems dirty, maybe because it's a bit older. They don't have a good food selection and anything else really. This place takes freakin' FOREVER to restock the shelves. Most of the items I come for are almost never available, week after week. Asking for help is of no use. Complaining to HQ is pointless, as all they ever respond with is "Call the store manager" (without providing a name or phone number). read more

I made a large order last week at WALMART.COM. I don't know how they decide to pack the items but they need to CHANGE. I ordered 6 large containers of quaker oats. ONE survived. The other 5 were opened and in the box. There is NO WAY I am eating that. They also don't have a customer service number on their website anymore. I WONDER WHY? Perhaps too many complaints??? Even one of the four toilet paper arrived torn opened. Do they have Edward Scissorhands packing these boxes??? It's real genius to pack a bunch of soft cardboard oatmeal rounds with a half dozen large V8 juices in a box that is too big. Now I have a mess to clean up and each V8 has to be washed off. I don't buy online to end up cleaning up the part of the merchandise that arrives in one piece. I will see if target has the merchandise. Last time I ordered the arm and hammer cat litter deoderizer was half out in the box... this time oatmeal.... that is the 2nd and the last time i order from them. To hell with it. read more

I always liked Walmart until I had a problem with a return, and dealt with Kelly. She was the RUDEST,NASTIEST person I've ever dealt with, despite the fact that she was 100% wrong!! That was unacceptable. I of course argued, and won. I wanted to see the manager and ask if he could view a security tape of this incident, but I never had the time or energy to persue it. If I worked that way at my job, I'd be fired on the spot. read more

Won't ever go to this Walmart again. I don't shop at Walmart but my 81yo aunt wanted to so I drove her. Only 2 checkouts open with people with full carts lined up; just as we got near the register the woman from SelfCheckout said she would check us out for our 4 items. We went to selfcheckout but she walked away. When she came back she rang up 3 items and the 4th was a gift card. She said "sah-ree, sah-ree" that she couldn't ring the card up but she did anyway. I said $50, she entered $5,000. "Sah-ree, sah-ree" and we had to get back in the register line, behind new people. When we get to the register, the cashier says that this card has already been used; I explained that the selfcheck cashier screwed it up; do you have another here? She did, and she swiped, swiped, swiped, trying to figure out how to put $50 on it. "Sah-ree sah-ree it's taking so looong." My poor 81yo aunt was draped/leaning onto the shopping cart as there were no benches to sit on. read more

I'm writing this because of the bad reviews I saw here. I live close by and like the convenience and fair prices that Walmart generally provides. They recently revamped the store so that the displays are freshened and a bit more appealing (they nevertheless are still an order of magnitude below Target in that regard). Because things we look for now are in many cases in another part of the store than we are used to, we need more interaction with the store employees. The last half dozen times we've called upon store employees for help have all been pleasant and include (in more than one occasion) the employee walking us to where the product can be found. I don't know if this is a directive to get shoppers acquainted with the new layout or a more permanent shift in customer service attitude. In any case, I hope it is the latter since the shopping experience at Walmart is a big notch higher than it was 6-12 months ago. read more

This is by far the worst walmart ever! Then again it is walmart, we don't shop there because of the customer service. We shop there for prices. Walmart would not exist otherwise. Its a place that cooperate never answers the phone when you want to call and complain. The walmart in boonton has a manager that will bend over backwards to not help you! Her name is April. For a person that has such an "important roll in the store," She apparently doesn't know how to do squat. She is rude and inconsiderate of others time. Online has the store closing at 11:59 pm. meanwhile they are real quick to kick you out of the store at 11:00. Even if you need them to just price something. I waited from 11 to 1130 to get help in a department and Barry a store employee hid until 11:30 and told us the store was closed. I watched him do it. April told me she couldn't help me because the store is closing and that she couldn't help me because she didn't know how to use a gun to price fabric. She was so nasty. From now on if I do go to the Boonton walmart I avoid the she devil April and also the useless Barry! I hope this will help people in choosing what employees to ask for help.
