I hate to be that negative person but this store is too questionable!! I've been to some pretty good walmarts. This one always has half of the Baltimore County Police standing outside (well maybe not half). Too many ppl just hanging around. I just always feel like I have to have my guard up. I only come here when I absolutely must and I'm going straight to where I need to go and straight back out. This Wal-Mart is the the most ghettoest and dirty one in Maryland so far. First of all the whole store is out dated it looks like the one from when I was 3 years old. IF THIS WAL-MART SAW IT'S REFLECTION, IT WOULD BREAK THE MIRROR... There are some really dedicated employees at this store but, unfortunately there does not appear to be too many. It is almost impossible to find an employee working in certain departments when assistance is needed. I often find myself touring the store trying to find assistance. On too many ocassions this particular store did not even have basic items in stock or things were so unorganized that you could not find what you needed anyway. Many employees are clueless regarding items in their own department. If you expect to find a simple computer program, forget it... This store focuses on computer games. Books?... Well you know... just forget it. : ) Most amazing is that the Ellicott City store is completely the opposite. ...two different worlds that are not very far apart in distance. I must admit that when I walked in and saw a county police officer, my eyes dilated... I certainly did not need my glasses at that point... It was suddenly CRYSTAL CLEAR that this was not a Walmart where I could listen to classic music and cruise down each isle... This is a Wal-Mart where you must arrive early, grab what you need and get out like- PDQ. If you do not know exactly where an item is located, just scratch it off of your list. The store is filthy and the isles are close. The front sidewalk is a total disgrace and looks like it has never had a drop of water on it. I will give this store two stars because there are some nice sales in the gardening center and the manager "Ms. Pat" is very customer oriented and knowledgeable about items in the department. There are other employees that are also an exception. Now, if you are going to Wal-Mart and see this store, you may want to just keep going and shop at the other store a few miles down the road. While I understand that theft is a rampant thing, there is no reason to racially profile me as a thief. I have had two stock person follow me in the food section pretending to read the ingredients in a not so subtle way lol. Is there a reason why i would steal from the food section? Then the same stock boy follows me all the way to the electronics section where I was trying to purchase a keyboard. There were a lot of other people around and I was singled out. The workers are always rude, they'll have boxes blocking entire aisles when restocking, then they huff and puff when you politely ask to get to a product that they're blocking. The employees who you can tell are a little more seasoned are always helpful, the younger ones stay on their phones the entire time, even when asking a question or at the register it's like they treat you like you aren't even there. I have been shopping at this Walmart for about a decade now because it's close to my work, I have watched the common courtesy and work ethic of the employees decline over the years. There is a tall, big, wide back b tch with black glasses and a horrible closure in particular who always acts like she's too good to be at work and I've had to talk to the manager several times about. She always has her name tagged flipped to the back so I can never see but anyone who shops there frequently or works there knows who I'm talking about. She's extremely rude! read more

I am not a fan of this Wal-Mart. The parking area is pretty congested and the store layout is so hard to follow! I go to other Wal-Marts and don't have issues finding things, but this one seems smaller and disorganized. The aisles are narrow and its difficult too navigate through the store. Sometimes this location is more convenient for me, but I would definitely drive out of my way to go to the Wal-Marts in Columbia or Ellicott City to avoid this one. read more

What can you really say about a place that just wants your money but not want to give good customer service? Its a routine every two weeks to supply the house with items like toothpaste, paper towels and odds and ins. At time I feel that before they hire they give a test on how rude you can be. I normally wouldn't waste time reviewing Walmart. Ya know, it's Walmart. But when a place just kinda sucks, I'd like to let others know about it. We stopped in here for usual Walmart type things - batteries, shampoo, etc. The floors were noticeably dirty. Like old just black streaks and dirt everywhere. The store was generally disorganized and a lot of items did not have prices. Ghetto would be the word that comes to mind when describing this Walmart. Not classy people and just not a good experience. There was a police officer standing near the front of the store in the women's clothing section keeping watch over things. How often do stores need police presence, and during the day? Made me feel like I didn't want to be there long. We made it all the way home when to our dismay we left a bag at the store. :/ We called and luckily the cashier still had it. Surprising! I was expecting to hear that the next person in line probably got a bag of our stuff, but they are keeping it at customer service for us to pick up tomorrow. Pretty cool. Despite the strike of luck with customer service this store is just not worth going to. Skip it unless you absolutely can't drive to a further one. read more

This is a pretty sketchy wal-mart. Occasionally, they've got their act together and everything looks put away, but more often than not it's pretty scary in there. Items will be misplaced, crowds overwhelm the isles, and salespeople are either unhelpful or invisible. One time I did have a good experience, as I was unable to find a DVD and someone was willing to help, although this event was completely rare. They also get some points for installing newer registers which speeds up checkout a bit, however at times it can take forever to escape. I now rarely bother with it. read more

I went to Walmart to pick up a couple of items and found other items on sale that I needed. I ended up spending over $300.00. The only thing I don't like is the long lines that seems to go on and on. I must admit they have a variety of items sold at this location, even a fully stocked grocery store. The only thing they don't sell is meats. I compared their grocery items to other grocery stores in the area and discovered I could save up to $30:00 dollars by shopping here for certain grocery items. I'm honestly amazed at how ridiculous my visit just was. So I needed fabric for a craft I was working on and at first I patiently wait for a couple of minutes for someone to help me. 5 minutes pass no was is even in the section. I had to ask 3 separate people over the span of another 15 minutes for help before anyone even came into the section and that's after they paged the person over the intercoms 3 times. Then when she finally comes by instead of helping me she is having a conversation with her worker. She doesn't apologize for making me wait and then it takes her 10 minutes to cut the fabric and if that's not bad enough it took like another 3 minutes for her to print out the receipt. Then she throws the fabric at me like I've inconvenienced her. Sorry but that's your damn job. If it's such a inconvenience get a different job. Do not ever come here if you need assistance or you'll be waiting forever. read more

Worst Walmart on earth. The staff normally have bad attitudes and act like you're bothering them if you ask for help. I went to buy a small filing cabinet and they were all open in their boxes and dented. Asked if there was an intact one in back and the enployee said I don't know and stood there. When I asked them to check they said they had work to do and then continued to stand there. This place is always dirty and items are normally broken or out of there packaging. I think over the years Wal-Mart has gone downhill. At most of them the shelves are hardly ever stocked and the staff act like you not there. I been to this one several times and it's no better than the rest. The only one I go to is the one in Severn if I am desperate or the one in Glen Burnie. This location is for convenience... Besides having a McDonalds and a few mini grocery aisles it's your typical Walmart. Teenage boys and adults leering at you. Slow stockers with boxes blocking the aisles. Women with attitudes about to go on break. Let me say I learn the latest hairstyles standing in line to checkout or hearing the latest employee gossip. On a better note, self service checkouts have been installed however some don't work and every now and than the employee stationed here will use a machine to purchase her chips while eating on the floor..... Shockingly poor customer service. I honestly felt today that the cashier and manager did not want to sell me the airbed that was advertised in the Walmart circular. All they wanted to do was argue. One manager argued that they couldn't honor prices from other Walmarts; however, my circular was from the Sun paper, delivered locally. After a long wait for the different managers to arrive (who never did), I decided to buy an airbed elsewhere. You definitely enter the "twilight zone" when you walk in this store. read more

I'm going to have to agree with the other reviews... but it was in a convenient location. Not a place to browse, more like a in and out kind of place. They have all the basics, so a good variety of things if you need a one stop shop. The cashiers really were on the slower side of typical cashiering, but it was in the middle of the day so my wait wasn't too terrible. I only go to this Walmart because it is close to my house. This store is very filthy! There is always weave or broken nail in the parking lot or inside the store. Every time you come to this location, there are always people hanging outside smoking cigarettes. Employees are always lounging around the entrance smoking cigarettes and cussing in front of customers. Although there are some employees who are very customer oriented, but due to very poor service overall, those good employees do not reflect. The best time to go to this location is early morning where there are NO long lines and people bumping and cussing over you. read more

I got a Walmart credit card on walmart. Com they send you a temporary card via text or email for the cashier to hand key in I went to but my daughters a slip and slide on a 95 degree day and after talking to 4 different cashiers and csm telling me they cant hand enter the card numberI finally talked to a store Manager who still told me they couldn't hand enter the number and then she had me sign in onto the stores iPad and show her that the card number was under my walmart account online and finally after a hour of waiting for one of them to follow the instructions that walmart.com gives you with the temporary card in the message they finally did it with no problem like I know they could and apologized a million times because nobody knows how to do there job or wants to help any customers especially ms Eugena one of there csm shouldn't even be allowed to speak to customer just insane how much I was put through to buy a slip and slide because they don't want to help anyone horrible customer service from everyone worst walmart I've been to in the country read more

This location is one of the worse around. Bad attitudes, sloppy and an overall lack of sound management. I went in there because i was next door and the level of clutter, employee's goofing off and more interested in talking with each other then helping customers of working was shocking. I got an overwhelming feeling of ghetto as I looked and heard what was going on, left quickly without making a purchase and never ever went back. I have been to most of the Wal Marts in the area, this is the worst. Parking is horrible, tiny parking lot with little room to maneuver your vehicle. Went in for a site to store pick up, the normal location said to go to the jewelry counter (odd). When I got there they seemed super annoyed, took them about 15 mins to get my order. Both women at the counter were rude. I then went to the sporting goods section looking for a swim cap that they supposedly had according to the Internet. Found no one to help me. Finally found a manager who was about 16. He took me to a clearance "pile" where he thought it would be. There was literally merchandise just thrown in a pile, half of the packages of the merchandise were open. I gaveup and went to a different store. This store was gross, disorganized and the staff was rude. Will not go back. read more

This place is really... (For the lack of a better word) ghetto. All the other reviews are correct. The store is dirty and run down. The McDonald's in the store is equally bad. The parking lot layout is terrible. There is indeed a Baltimore County officer in the store all the time. I've seen him get involved in heated verbal disputes between staff and customers (a cashier thought a customer was trying to steal facial tissue). The Walmart supercenter in Ellicott City is a better choice. read more

Do the managers read these reviews ? When all the reviews give no more than 2 stars something is obviously wrong. What is wrong is the managment. Staff who do not care about customer service should be retrained or let go. I have gone here several times and loath the experience everytime. It is the most convenient location for me but someone suggested the Walmart on Ridge Rd. It's like night and day, customer service is very good and worth the longer drive. I was a general manager for a chain of retail stores and when I came upon a store in this condition the first thing I did was clean house, starting with the managment. When you have these conditions which seem inbred and ongoing for this amount of time it is the only answer. As far as merchandising goes this store is a mess. My best suggestion is drive 10 minutes further to Ridge Rd. and enjoy the experience a real Walmart provides it's customers. read more

I had to carry my baby because he hates he screeching of the wheels on the carts and I asked the cashier if someone could help me carry some things out and she said no. wtf!! then another time the cashier broke an egg in my egg carton and said either you pay full price and you're out an egg or you go get a different carton. um no. I have a baby with me and just walked all over your store and stood in line forever. you can go get me more eggs. had to wait for the manager to get me my eggs, but with THE NASTIEST attitudes from these women you could imagine!! I am so not used to this mannerism from people and coming here just makes my skin crawl. everyone who works there is miserable and no one cares about their job. avoid if at all possible!! plus the smoking from the employees outside is horrible to walk into read more
