I find Wegmans to be one of the cheaper grocery stores in the area. They offer a lot of their own brand items which are very reasonably priced. Their vegetables and fruits, frozen items and fresh bread are all things I find to be competitive (if not better priced) with other grocery stores. Vegetarian selection. While other grocers have gone away from their own line of vegetarian/vegan items, Wegmans hasn't. They've got super reasonable vegan nuggets, chicken patties and spicy chicken patties. The nuggets come in both regular size and family size. Baked goods. We get my kids' birthday cakes at Wegmans. The ordering process is easy, they will do half chocolate and half vanilla for us and the icing is not as overly sweet as other places we've tried. They have done a decent job and, the one time they gave us the wrong flavor, they fixed the situation. There is a lot of other things I like about Wegmans. But the cakes, vegan/vegetarian options and prices stand out.

Since this Instacart shopping involved three orders, I organized the three orders among five reusable bags. As I was getting ready to check out the items, the manager approached me. I greeted the manager, and the manager did not greet me back. Then, the manager asked me if the items I shopped for were "pre-purchased". I answered no, and the manager quickly scolded me for putting the items in reusable bags. As the manager was checking out all the items, the manager was having a personal coversation over the phone. After the manager help me check out all the items, I said thanks. The manager ignored me and walked away.

This Lidl has a large free parking lot and offers both small and large carts. And you don't need to scramble for a quarter to release the cart-- these are free floaters. Another reason we like to come to the Lidl on Bel Air Road in Nottingham is to look at and sometimes buy flowers and plants-- they really have a nicer selection of flowers and plants for a grocery store. And perhaps the best part of Lidl is their fresh bakery. We have to buy pretzel rolls and jelly-filled doughnuts aka Berliners. The baked goods are always so fresh at this Lidl. They straight used their bare hands to reach in and grab pastries. I find this disgusting and unsanitary. No one wants to eat your germs. I made a suggestion to an employee, but he said people are going to do what they going to do. So as a warning I would avoid get pastries unless you like your baked goods covered in germs. Other than that I was happy to see my pizza restocked and a variety of frozen fruit.

I asked a member of the Deli department if any were available. The gentleman looked for the item in the freezer. He did not find the pepperoni. However, another member found the item and quickly prepared the item. As I checked out all my items and left the store, a third employee wished me a nice day. The store itself is clean and organized and well maintained. A employee on 9/21 at 2:30pm working hard pushing a cart full of inventory had a smile and greeted customers passing by. Wish I knew her name but 30's dark hair. Miss Josie the cashier was so pleasant and polite. She even went out of her way to double check a price on her own to be sure for me and make sure I knew about my points and explain some of those perks . The price check by way was a quick response not long waiting. The manager came over polite also with a smile. I'd like to hope Weis is taking care of their employees and these are happy employees because it was a pleasant environment. Otherwise they lucked out and hired a group of great people. When I got home, I then looked at the sell by dates. My bad! They had all expired. So it seems Food Lion puts expired sell by date items on sale. Now I need to go back to return these items.
