I went in there to buy a couple of things as usual. I asked a guy who works there on how to find certain stuff. He said " I don't speak English." in English. I guess he doesn't want to help. So I asked two other persons, and they don't seem to know. So I finally made trip to service desk and she knew. Mismanaged. Understaffed. Central. While the demographics of Chelmsford suggests it's local big box store would be too notice, this store is widely recognized as the worse Walmart in the region. That's less to do with stock/merchandise than chronic understaffing. Ex: 20m in line for return this AM waiting for a customer who appeared to be (can't make this up) repeatedly counting dollar bills and calling someone. Other times it's been engaging retail Survivor mode hunting for a sales associate for some locked item electronics purchase which, once she/he are found, is more than helpful but clearly overwhelmed. Like the Target in Lowell, avoid this store where/when possible. Geographic convenience to/from this location is often inversely proportionate to time wasted once inside. read more

I literally had the worst experience today at the Walmart in drum Hill I am so aggravated with them I don't even want to shop in their store no more they literally made me feel embarrassed to the point where I had a severe panic attack outside the store I had to walk over to the Panera bread outside and I started crying my eyes out and I was shaking they disrespect their customers and then they have customers behind people in line waiting laughing at the person in front of them and then as the person is going out of the store the store employees are chuckling and giggling under their breath as the customer is leaving So highly dissatisfied with the store they barely ever have any registers open and then they have employees that don't have consideration for people making purchases read more

Customer Service closed and refusing any returns even though store was not busy at all. No lines at registers and parking lot was empty. Parked in first row. Manager refused to process return with receipt and within 10 days of purchase, easy return ...scan receipt and return items. Very unprofessional managers response. She would have to do all returns. Isn't that the job of a manager to fill in and help customers? There was no line and only one return request? I now believe reviews about this store is recognized as the worst Walmart in the region. Six staff members standing around unopened service desk? This is counting those at the open registers. Crazy that the store and employees shut down and not help customers. Honestly hate this Walmart. They aren't very customer friendly at the service desk. They a very unprofessional too. They almost never answer their phones. Went there to do a return and the lady at the desk didn't ask me how I wanted my money back. She pressed for it to go back on a Mastercard gift card that I didn't have anymore, mind you I payed most of the transaction that the return was from in cash. I called Mastercard and they can't give me a new card, so thanks to the girl at the service desk, I lost out on $45 that was gifted to my daughter for her 1st birthday. This might not only be the worst Walmart I have ever been to, it might be the worst store I have ever been to in general. All of the associates (oh I mean all 2 associates) are rude, unhelpful and no where to be found. There is usually a single register open even on a busy Friday. The shelves are bare and what is on there is usually unorganized and quite often actually damaged. I do try to shop at Walmart for the cheaper prices, but I will pay more at Target any day of that week instead of coming to this terrible, terrible place. read more

Hmmmm.... Where do I start? Oh, yeah! People who work at customer service regularly make arguments with customers. I know they are not exactly the sharpest tool in the shad, but need at least basic level of training about dealing with customers. Few actually harass customers by citing rules they don't even know. Managers are not any better. They are actually dumber than regular employees. If you want to buy a pencil or buy a bottle of soda, this is the place. If you want some services such as sending money or financial service, these people have no idea how to service customers. I have never seen any Walmart this bad. read more

I live an hour with traffic from a store and so I had the Walmart app and recently purchased Hanes cotton briefs for women. I had picked the colors of the briefs - pinks and blues and floral print what I received was black and white zebra and leopard print and beige. When I called to complain about this I was told that the color is not guaranteed. This has also had happened with another REN product in which the type of cleanser was ignored and the just gave me a replacement and When I tried to take back with the receipt at your store without the packaging I was denied. I have deleted the app and will not be purchasing anything else...... read more

I must say the staff has been super supportive and accommodating with this Covid situation. Have to time it right to get any of the disinfectant supplies. Those are tough to get on the regular. They have kept the prices pretty close to pre quarantine. read more

Personally, I have always had disliked this chain store and avoided it, when we had to temporarily moved to Chelmsford, MA, I had no choice. This store was one of few big stores. The store is well stocked with a good variety of things and while it may not be the highest quality and it can a bit messy, it does the job. The staff is friendly, polite and helpful. They have a pharmacy that offers discounted meds with the use of GoodRx cards for free. There is a descent amount food, clothing, electronics, toys etc. There is a Subs restaurant inside. The issue that I have, has to do with the long lines and sale clerk who does not know what to about the customer who is bickering over a 2 penny discount that has been applied. Horrible customer service within all managers, today is Easter so I wanted to buy my baby boy a scooter! I went to the ale with scooters and found some for 14.97 when I go to the register it's 30$ and the guy told me he moved all the scooters from the 14.97 price ??? Mind you there was multiple!!! Unlike other Walmarts, this Walmart doesn't keep on top of their shopping baskets, which in turn, makes it difficult to park at the shopping plaza. Overall it's an overcrowded parking lot. Always a greeter at the door, thank you very much. It's smaller, so it's no Super Walmart. The lay out has been changed lately, so it's not unusual to be walking around trying to figure out where the toothpaste is, or the arts-and-craft supplies. Prices remain reasonable. read more

Between the nightmare parking lot, getting hounded by whatever fundraiser is camped near the front door & then into the store which always has a funky odor floating around, a 'Caution Wet Floor' sign usually within 15 feet of walking in & half empty shelves, I'm not even sure why I came here. The staff while I'm sure are hardworking at times, seem to relish in the chaos. Half seemed to be staring absentmindedly into space willing themselves to be anywhere else. The kicker for me was when I put all my items on the belt and turned away to grab a last minute item and a woman chose that opportunity to place all of her items ahead of mine on the belt! I gave this a rating of "Meh. I've experienced better." as that was my thought as I visited this particular Walmart today. In particular, "better" being the nearby Walmart of Tewksbury. The parking area wasn't very large especially since it had to share it with a whole bunch of other stores such as the Hannaford Supermarket next door. Even with all the sharing, we were able to find a parking spot easily. I was hoping to find a particular item in this store today but unfortunately it was out of stock. Finding an associate to confirm that it was out of stock took awhile longer but fortunately, he was able to give the answer quickly. We didn't leave empty handed though as their prices for items are generally cheaper so we brought a bag of pretzels for $3.00 (regular price of $3.49). read more

Employees at the Chelmsford Walmart store are very helpful. On one occasion a cell phone that I had purchased at the store malfunctioned and an employee working in the tech department fixed it in two minutes! While searching for a product that protects the skin the employee who regularly stocks the shelves went into the back of the store and found the product! At the end of my store visit I find the cashiers are both efficient and pleasant. As box stores go I give it Five Stars. read more

I went to walmart to return 2 items but while waiting in line I seen the lady (straight hair with bangs) yell at another coworker ( asian lady). The lady that was yelling at the time already was helping a customer and the other lady simply walked by and asked another worker something. The lady walked to the back to put something away and went back to the return section behind the desk. Again the women yelled at her and said she had to fill whatever out because the can had no label. I understand managing but the way she did it was unprofessional and embarrassing. I recently brought my son who is amazing here as we do once sometimes more in a week. My son is special he is on the spectrum so I know him, his triggers and all that well. My son loves legos if you know this store you understand they are down back aisle not the greatest lighting and by the bathrooms/ site to store. My teenager as always went down to find his next set and take a picture. Assistant manager Nicole and another large woman demanded my son bring them to his parents. They then followed him two grown ups one easily 4x the size of my child the other Nicole addressed my husband I stating our son was looking at a $45 Lego set and over by the bathrooms with it. My child 13 was upset they kept saying he was trying to steal this set. They did not say it point blank but did imply it. Before finishing our transactions in the store, our child showed us what he was looking at a $34 set on the bottom shelf in a poorly lit aisle. The set they said he was touching 3 shelves above and several items over. Be careful if you allow your teenager to look at this location. They sent my child into a breakdown then Nicole followed me out of the store after I paid with her walkie talkie. Not the greatest customer service. read more

I called and was connected to the electronics department three times. Two times they didnt answer. The third time they hung up on me. I asked to speak to a manager. The manager wouldn't come on the phone. They kept me holding for 10 minutes and then I decided to put a complaint in with the Tewksbury Wal-Mart. I had about 5 things to return yesterday. I had receipt of my purchase. The return was within time frame of their policy. The customer service guy took 30 minutes on this simple return. I stood at register for at least 30 minutes. There was a big line behind me. But he didn't care. Associate didn't know what to do. He took most of the time finding my items on receipt. He couldn't find one of my item on receipt which was there. I wish I would have bought my items from Target. At target it would have taken less than a minute. My worst experience ever. Apart from that this store is one of the dirtiest Walmart i have ever seen. This Walmart is complete waste of time. I will give Zero star or minus 5 stars for this store. read more

I am a very, very infrequent shopper at Walmart. I had something I purchased online and tried to return in store. I get there first thing when they open and there was a pretty big line at the customer service counter. For some reason they didn't have any regular registers open, and so the customer service line was for all customers. There were tons of employees who just seemed to be walking around doing nothing and yet they only had 1 guy working the return desk. So I finally get up and the guy can't seem to pull up the order, even though I printed out the email that had a bar code and the instructions in the email clearly say to scan the barcode and it should be done. So I had 2 items from 2 different orders. After about 10 minutes of doing god knows what he finally manages to make one of the 2 items show up as a return. However, in a fun little twist, apparently online ordered returned in store require manager approval? Why the hell would that matter? So I can see my whopping $9 return on the screen and I had inserted my credit card to receive it back but then we were just in limbo until a manager came over. He pages one, and calls a bunch of people. Some other employee comes over and pages legitimately 6 different people who know how to do this. Any of course none of them are there that day! So there is apparently only 1 manager in the entire store and she is MIA. So this is 15-20 minutes in at this point, there is a huge line of people behind me, and we're just stuck. Since this only 1 of 2 items I was returning I gave up and asked him to cancel the return. I can dropped it off as USPS and not have to deal with this nonsense. I'm not sure why this store is so horribly run? If only managers can override, maybe mangers should be working, or available, at the customer service desk. UPDATE: Now after trying to return it back online, it's showing in my account as "returned in store" and yet I didn't actually receive the money back. It won't let me select it to be returned online either...So this will be a fund headache to deal with. I also had 2 small things I was trying to purchase at the same time. Instead of making people wait at customer service I walked over to the regular register to pay for these items since they had finally opened 1 (yes, just one). Of course, one of my items had no price tag on it and i foresaw needing a manager to come over. NOPE, not dealing with that again. I left it behind. I will stick to online shopping/returns from now on. read more
