I had went and got a few items at this store and I was waiting on the bench were the city bus comes and employee named BEATRICE came out and stopped and looked at me dead in her tracks I was smoking a cigarette so I thot she was going to ask me to stop smoking so I said hi what's up to her and she started screaming at me and it was nothing about smoking she said "why are you whating me I'm doing my fing job I'm checking the trash leave me alone" and she screamed this so I said lady what did I do I didn't do anything all I asked was what's up she continued to scream saying she's doing what ever she's doing and I asked her her name and she snatched her name tag off and said F you .. you don't need my name but I had already saw the name .. Clean and organized. Prices are high when compared to market basket. Advantage is that they are closer to Walmart and also have water dispenser to fill your gallons. read more

Hannaford management is circumventing the directive to provide a shopping hour for seniors and at-risk populations bu including ANYONE else who is shopping for an at-risk person. This negates the safety provision of secluded shopping by permitting not-at-risk persons in the store at the same time! "New hours for seniors and the immunocompromised: New dedicated shopping hours for senior citizens 60 and older and individuals with compromised immune systems, including pregnant women and caregivers shopping for the immunocompromised. Currently, most stores reserve 7 a.m. - 8 a.m. on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings. In Massachusetts, those special hours are 7 a.m. - 8 a.m. daily." read more

I was in this store at 8:00 at night, and the produce and bakery sections were better stocked than I've seen in many stores at 8:00 in the morning, when items are usually set out for the day's sales. The store is clean and very well laid out. I wish I could get dairy as cheap in eastern NY Hannaford's as I could here. read more

With the sheer grossness of the Stop and Shop in Chelmsford Center, this is the next closest supermarket to my home. I'll go to Hannaford in a heartbeat; anything to get my away from the decrepit Stop and Shop! Although they do not carry quite the same range of 'exotic' and unusual groceries as the Hannaford in Lowell, this location does just fine. Although Market Basket offers the best prices, Hannaford has the best selection, in my opinion. I like to cook and I can almost always find what I need. The mega stores, combined with the smaller independent ethnic groceries stores scattered through Lowell (and Trader Joe's), offer an international cornucopia of goodness! Now, if we can somehow convince the good people of Wegman's to open a store here, I'd be in 7th heaven! read more

So I came here because I won a scratch ticket and banked some cash. I would NEVER COME HERE otherwise. This place is E.X.P.E.N.S.I.V.E! I walked around and saw dudes with monocles, canes and a top hat walking around asking people if they had any grey poupon to splash on their crumpets. Nah just kidding but you catch my drift. I'm usually found in either Stop & Shops or Market Baskets but I figured I may check this place out since I was in the area. I saw that most items I'd usually buy were more expensive than what I would find in the before mentioned stores (Claussens Mini Dill Pickles, boxed cereal and fruits). The place was beautiful though don't get me wrong. It's well kept and clean, probably because they have ushers who shoo away the lighter pocketed townsfolk. I ended up buying nothing and walking out with my head lowered in shame and only returning to impress a hot date. read more

I have been shopping at the Hannaford in Chelmsford, MA for over 20 years (even when it was owned by Hannaford and called Shop'n'Save). My family and I have tried other grocery stores on occasion, but always come back (quickly) to Hannaford. Their meat and produce are fresh, great quality and there's a great variety. I need to buy Gluten Free food as I have Celiac disease. There's a great variety of foods to choose from and they are well marked with purple tags throughout the store. The staff is pleasant and helpful and attentive. The bakery is great! We have gotten several custom cakes from here over the years. Hannaford has their own brand of premium deli meats called Inspirations. These are delicious and healthy. No gluten either! I could go on... I love this store, and many others in this chain, and recommend it to all my friends and family. read more

Hannaford's is my backup supermarket *only* because I live in a town with multiple Market Basket locations and MB can't be beat. I go to this location about once a month when I get my hair cut at Cost Cutters and after I grab lunch at Moe's -- yes, it's become a nice, neat little routine. This supermarket is extremely modern and well laid-out. It has items I can't find at Market Basket, from frozen entrees to large bottles of Vitamin Water. Its produce and deli sections are huge; I'm not a fan of their buffalo turkey, though; it's too dry for my tastes. There's lots of selection here and a variety of services; this supermarket is also a drug store and it's got an integrated TD Bank. You can also buy stamps at the checkout counter! Supermarkets from the future rule. If this location was a little closer, I'd be there more often. read more

Just ordered/purchased our sons grad cake in Concord's Hannaford bakery. I get all our cakes there. Have for years. They are AMAZING. Super delicious, moist and recently the frosting seems even better. It has an even better marshmallow taste that I can't get enough of. Out of all the stores in the area I will always come here. The cake decorators are very accommodating. Being a cake decorator myself, I know great work and am always very pleased. read more

Hannaford of Chelmsford (at drum hill) is a very clean, modern supermarket. It has a great selection of fruits and vegatables, probably among the best of any supermarket around. Their prices are good, although a bit higher than Market Basket, but that's the only reason I don't give them 5 stars. I did ultimately start shopping at market basket... I'm saving about $20 a week I think, most weeks. But, the ambiance of Hannaford is a lot more relaxed, and less crowded, and again, their fruit and produce section is a lot nicer. While Market Basket was closed over the summer, I did my shopping here. I didn't even think about Shaws or Stop and Shop, because they are ridiculously expensive! Again, it's a great place to shop. read more

Sorry for the low review but here's the issue: paper bags no plastic local orders. So sorry for Hannaford's Chelmsford because it will mean my business is cut down at least the large weekly shopping. Can't carry them into the house easily. Two at a time lots of trips back and forth and tearing. Today it's pouring rain--won't carry them out into parking lot only to get wet and weaker and rear when I try to bring them into the house. We spend $260-280 a week on this day, plus a few smaller trips. You need to work to reverse this. I'm not the only one I'm sure read more

Market Basket might have better prices but Hannafords has a better selection and is more my kind of store. I frequently stop here on my commute north up Route 3 and like the place. Easy parking, good produce, easy to navigate. read more

A wonderful grocery experience - great sales - many lasting up to 30 days. The produce - fish, poultry/meats and bakery are unsurpassed in quality and pricing. Shop mid week, you can get lots of un advertised discounts on poultry and meats. Employees are great - very helpful and the store is clean. Now that we finally finished our last can of macaroons from Passover (I overbought this year), we no longer have something sweet to grab on a pass-by so I figured I'd head to Hannaford Supermarket to get me a box of small chocolate chip cookies; I was also very curious to see the new and improved Hannaford, as it has recently undergone some renovations, as in, it's STILL undergoing renovations. I knew I was in trouble when I saw a lady holding up a bright orange sheet of paper that said, "Are you confused?" Yes. I was confused. The new and unimproved location for the bread is not where I would have put it, the canned vegetables are far away from the canned fruit section, the produce section is half the size of what it used to be, etc. The frozen food aisles are pretty much where they had been before, but I am not sure why greeting cards are now adjacent to that section. Eh. I don't rule the world but probably should. As you can see from my profile, I have an opinion about everything, and I am not sure I would have set things up as they are now. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt, however, and only hope that the final resting place for some of the sections is better than it is now, once the store is completely finished. In the meantime, I never bought the cookies because I never found them. I instead opted for a small cherry vanilla cup-to-go from Sullys (see my previous review: http://www.yelp.com/biz/sullys-ice-cream-stand-chelmsford#hrid:gCaH0ERF4hTbXWT_IE7NKQ/src:self). I thought this store was amazing. It's big and new and very clean. We picked up a cake here for a birthday and I was really impressed. Usually you don't expect too much from a grocery-store cake, but this was really well done. Very colorful and fun - it was for a 4 year old's party. The store itself is huge - but most of what I saw was the bakery section. They had a huge array of stuff - single-serving banana cream pie, single serving whoppee pie cake things, all kinds of stuff. I was really impressed - it all looked so good. The cake was a big hit, and this store is a big hit with me. read more

Its big it's clean and it's a nice grocery store but I'd rather them have not unecessarily redone the whole thing(it was nice to begin with) and instead lowered their prices. It's way more expensive than Market Basket for the exact same thing. I really do like the pharmacy there though and it's the only one I'll use. They've never messed up and they have an amazing saver plan for $7.00 a year which is totally worth it! It's an amazing program. Best thing about the store. read more

I visited this particular supermarket for the first time today because it happened to be next to a store we were visiting. It has a nice layout and the overall selection seems decent. I was disappointed by their lack of variety of a certain brand of pretzels though. read more

This Hanneford is a disappointment compared to others I have been in. The Hudson one is superior in quality and prices. Only one clerk to help the customers on a Saturday, terrible bakery items unless you like cardboard and did not have the item I stopped by for. Get thee to DeMoulas down the road instead. read more

Love the little sushi bar! Excellent sushi & the lady that works there is wonderful. So friendly & you can tell she likes her job. Nice too see these days. The deli is just as wonderful. The lunch meats are fresh & they slice it exactly the way you want it. I never get my lunch meat at Market Basket anymore (MB stinks) Hannafords is clean, has a great selection of many items we like. Wing bar, salad bar, sushi ingredients that I usually have to go to an asian store to buy- they have it all here. Oh, did I mention the fantastic sushi bar ;) read more

The Drum Hill Hannaford has become terrible you can't get brand name products used to buy because they no longer stop stop them if you have a coupon that item usually is taken off the shelf so you can't even redeem your coupon they don't have any tellers to serve people that buy more than 14 items you have to go to the self-checkout which is incredibly slow and takes forever to ring up an order the girl that was standing at the 14 items or less doing absolutely nothing and no one was waiting for her even though they were two more 14 or less item Rose refuse to wait on anybody that had more than 14 items the girl that was supposed to be in the long checkout line had her lame sign closed when we asked the 14 girl for the manager she refused to get her they refused to help Stop & Shop is taking over this store and it is now terrible I have shopped there since the day they became Hannaford to Drum Hill I will never go back read more
