I only had 1hr before closing, went to the electronics section and found 3 customers ahead and three on the register and only ONE person. Just waited over 30 minutes in line to find out that what I'm looking for the guy at the register Yamaldoes not know what it is (The Quest 2) although it is a popular item. The guy has a 10 items or less sign on the counter, but he took the 4 customers in front of me, who had items from all over the store, each of the first three had between 15 to 20 items. The 4th one had over 50 items, several LPs, about 20 Christmas cards, two pairs of rain boots, several clothes, some electric items, a lamp with a clock on it, you name it. When I brought to his attention and asked if the sign meant something, he got mad at me, stated that he was just trying to make everybody happy and for me to have a good day. I was in the neighborhood of this Walmart picking up a treadmill that I found on Craigslist for a good price. Having hard wood flooring, I wanted to get some exercise floor mats to put it on and thought the Walmarts might have it in stock. Upon walking in, it was cavernous inside this place. Huge and echo-y. Not necessarily in a good way, and it was packed with people. I must remember to avoid establisments such as this on weekend afternoons (if not weekends all together). I bobbed and weaved to the back corner where the exercise equipment was and found my floormats easily (no price label). I then maneuvered to a price checker on a post where I waited for one couple to check everything in their cart (about 10 items), then an employee (that looked exactly like a 5'5", redheaded version of Hugo from Lost... AWESOME!) checked a price on a stereo (probably also unlabled), before finding the reasonable price for my floor mats. I trekked back to the front of the store behind meandering shoppers, wandering children, and stationary people who I can only assume were no longer able to walk and had been placed in the middle of the aisles only to make things interesting. Arriving at the checkout area I saw lines longer than winter in Siberia. They stretched back into the clothing racks and beyond. I'm not kidding. When I got to the register, I was surprised I didn't get beet rations handed to me. The bright spot about the visit (besides the redheaded, midget Hugo), were the friendly people in line. Despite the crowd, the cold temperature in the store, and the insanity of the parking lot, they were very friendly and comical. While I wouldn't go in again unless absolutely necessary, I thank them for their humor. read more

What a waste of space I am appalled at the service I got from the Clinton location. I called the auto department and asked if I could come in for an oil change either today and tomorrow. The guy said they could fit me in today. I come from a pretty distance and get there all of a sudden they not only are short staffed but don't have the oil for ny vehicle. Wtf!! 4 lanes out of 14 open on a Sunday afternoon for checkout. 1 of those 4 lines is a 20 items or less lane. Checkout lines are reaching into their clothing department. Inventory is diverse but disorganized and in need of restocking in some departments. Kim assisted me at checkout, and even though she was clearly overworked and understaffed, she displayed phenomenal customer service. Kim was the saving grace of this grocery run. read more

Joshua in the mechanic (automotive) section is a great young man. Whoever raised him is the best. I came there for paper towels. Car didn't start. He came out and gave me a jump. Mind you, they were booked until 10 but he did it. He carried a battery for me, everything. I have had the worst week and this young man did something he truly did NOT have to do. But he did it. I need the best things to happen to this young man. I did a good deed not too long ago, got fired a few months later, and ended up with my dream job. I hope everything he aspires to is received. I visited this Walmart location with some friends on Black Friday. The purpose of the visit was to submit a layaway payment. We made our to the Lawn and Garden section of Walmart, designated as the "layaway section". There was a long line of customers that snaked around the aisles to the one register that was manned by a lone Walmart employee. The lone Walmart employee was standing next to multiple boxes of layaway merchandise. I observed there was one Walmart employee bringing out the paid merchandise of the Walmart customers. Walmart customers were visibly upset, due to the length of time for the retrieval of their paid merchandise. One of of the Walmart customers commented to the Walmart employee, "Can you walk a little faster? We're waiting on you!" Walmart customers complained they were waiting for over a hour for their paid merchandise. My friends stood in the "layaway line" for close to a hour to submit a payment for his layaway. My experience with my friends was one of the most uncomfortable experiences within a store. I'm surprised there wasn't any members of the Walmart management team there to assist, the overwhelmed Walmart employees. I vowed to my friends, that I would not accompany to this Walmart location ever again. Walmart should consider allowing their customers to submit layaway payments via: in-person and/or walmart.com. read more

Worst Walmart ever.... I've been waiting over an hour for a pickup order. Then people park in the pickup order spaces to shop in the store.

I was shopping for a bike for my baby. It was 8pm the sales floor was covered with pallets. I went to get a floor manager and asked can she move some of the pallets so I can get a helmet and some training wheels after I already had climbed over pallets to get the bike she wanted. She said no because they had two trucks come in and they needed to get everything out the back room. Smh. So I had to leave the bike because what's the purpose of a bike with no training wheels for a kid that don't know how to ride? Store closes at 12am it's no reason for them pallets to be out on the sales floor 3 hours before closing losing money. I'm going to explain the customer service at this location in one word. TERRIBLE. They need to send they employees to Chick-fil-A for training. My baby was crying and I was very disappointed. Never go to Walmart in Clinton. read more

I'm really regretting buying tires from Wal-Mart after moving to the D.C. area. Few Tire & Lube locations here, and the number of locations is one of the main reasons I purchase tires and batteries from Wal-Mart. This location takes being slow to a whole different level. South no other cars waiting for the tire bay, my cat sat in front of the bay for over an hour before being moved in and another hour to do the rotation and balance...2 hours and 30 minutes total. And that's with having to wait in long lines for people to buy non-automotive items because they didn't want to walk to the front of the store with their groceries. I don't understand how you stay in business taking 2.5 hours to do a rotation and balance when you have 8 employees working in the Tire and Lube Center. I can do the math...don't think you're making money when you have that little productivity. I'll be buying my toes through Costco next time. Enough is enough. read more

This Walmart is the closest/ convenient place to my house. I like this walmart for pick up purposes. Whenever I do a pick up the staff is very friendly and helpful. They always have a great attitude. Buuutttt I am disappointed with this store because most of the stuff that I go looking for is never there and I never leave walmart without 20 different things I never had any intentions on buying. I have to agree with the main sentiment about this particular Walmart - it has got to be one of the most miserable shopping experiences I have ever endured. Where do I begin? Whether it is the consistently under-stocked items, the depressingly long queues @ the few open cashier lanes, the careless and insipid attitudes of the employees, and the even more appalling, crass, and major-league obnoxious behavior of the average customer here - I honestly try to avoid having to come to this store if I can help it. I take on board the point made by a previous reviewer about the locality being the source of the very pool that is representative of both the employee and customer base. But let's be real here - basic good manners and behavior are not exclusive to, or synonymous with any specific socio-economic classes. Such a suggestion would be utter tripe. The consistently terrible customer service I have observed in this store is not helped by what appears to be an apathetic management structure, and it seems the whole store is a case study in how to run-down a business. I genuinely feel bad for those employees who try their best to do their job, but I suspect that these are a minority based on the visits I have made here. The employees I have come across usually do the classic eye-roll whenever I have asked them for help finding a particular item, as if I am placing an unwarranted burden on their shoulders. Or exhale so exaggerated and act so unfriendly, because out of all the employees you could have asked for help, you dared to ask them. I have rarely noticed a sense of urgency, but usually always see employees yapping away to peers or customers, perfectly oblivious to their work. I genuinely don't understand why there is such a pervasive sense of "attitude" about the place. And asking somebody to move their shopping cart out of the way often times results in people giving you a look as if you've thrown down the gaunlet and insulted their honor. The parking lot has got to be one of the most depressing sights on this planet: there is normally always all sorts of rubbish strewn in front of and alongside the exterior of the building. Its as if neither employees or customers have any sense of pride in the place they work or shop. And why some people feel the need to idle in their cars in the middle of lanes or in the common alleyway that borders the Lowe's next door is beyond me - it is so infuriating. It is not always obvious if a car is coming or going, waiting for a parking space or for a solar eclipse - making eye contact with that driver (or passenger) results in anything including a mean mug, a disinterested or dismissive glance, or body language to make the point that they don't give a blue shite about their obnoxious behavior. I usually head to the Walmart off Richmond Hwy in Alexandria, when I have to make a visit to this retailer. It's a shame though given this one is relatively close to me - but nothing about this specific Clinton location appeals to me from a customer service perspective. read more

They don't really have a good food selection at this location. They do have frozen foods, beer and some wines. Their clothing section is a little slim, but some of the clothes are nice. I love Walmart and have pretty much visited them all. But this is my LEAST fave Walmart.....its the PITS!!! In fact, mostly I drive the extra miles to go to the Waldorf one (or any other one) when I need a lot of items. But when I just need a few I go to this Walmart cause I trust Walmart prices. However, the customer service here is way below par. No happy greeters and Happy faces here and good luck finding someone to help you. Aisles are cluttered and messy. Smh Today I asked the cashier for quarters (thats a hit or miss i know) and was told that customer service had quarters. Customer service was like I don't give quarters (even tho my daughter got quarters there the other week) and they told me to go to aisle 14 where I was told they don't give quarters either --go to customer service. I let her know that customer service said they didnt give quarters and she said that customer service should know that aisle 14 doesn't give quarters and that customer service DOES give quarters. Sighs @ 9 am in the morning. AVOID THIS LOCATION! my first time placing an order online and picking it up to this store and this happened. i couldnt collect it.. why because i got there around 830pm.. they have a sign in the pick up corner about the timings thats how i know. I am a true fan of this Walmart Vision Center and the HiDef Eyecare practice that conducts eye exams. Yesterday was my third visit to Hi Def in four years. The receptionist/technician, Selena, was very courteous, efficient and knowledgeable. She assured me that I would not have to wait long for service and she was correct. Dr. Hashemi called me in within five minutes and conducted a very thorough exam. She too was very knowledgeable, pleasant, and patient. I didn't feel rushed at all. This office, as well as the eyeglass sales section, is one of the best I've visited over the past 40 years. I like that Walmart offers reasonably priced glasses and does not appear to be part of the cartel that keeps frame prices exorbitant. I did note, however, that the selection of lower priced frames needed some stylish additions. There were many empty spaces so I was left with no suitable choice. My current titanium frames were $9.00 dollars and I've worn them for over three years with no problem! read more

Don't go here for anything. I came here for an oil change after the dealership was closed for the evening. I waiting three hours. Eventually I had to ask where my car was. The cashier didn't know. The mechanics eventually came back into the cashier area and stated that they had been done for about thirty minutes. I was sitting right in front of them the whole time. Oh and also, they did not know how to reset my oil engine light, The mechanic tried, failed, called someone to help him, tried again, got it off temporarily. It turned back on as soon as I re-started the car the next morning. I wound up doing myself. In other news, you will never be able to procure for yourself or your family a pack of socks, underwear or undershirts from this establishment. It appears that magic undergarment stealing elves manage to rip open the packs and remove at least one pair from EVERY pack. The store is always dark and there is always a giant pallet of goods in the center of the aisles. The parking lot is borderline dangerous, especially in Summer when random "entrepreneurs" hock their various food and wares. The customer service line has to be the most desolate depressing sight I've ever seen and is always a mile long. Also, I really enjoy seeing giant females hoisted into the air upon entering getting their hooves shaved and polished. Last, do not think of EVER attempting to check out of the self service aisle with over ten items (I had 12), even if the aisles are empty or you will get cursed out by the evil queen in the bad weave who presides over the area. I recently moved to the area-Oxon Hill and frequent this Walmart on occasion. On this night in particular 4/15/2019 around 11:15pm I came in looking to purchase and Apple branded adapter for my phone. I recently moved and don't have cable so I was looking for a means to entertain myself during this transition. I literally went to the electronics department in this store looking for the cable, but I didn't see it and assumed like all the rest of the Apple products they have it locked up. No big deal, so I walk around looking for an associate so I can inquire about this cord. I make my way through the entire electronics section without seeing an associate until I finally saw and older lady doing stocking in the aisles. I call out to her and say "excuse me ma'am", she looks at me, doesn't acknowledge me at all and continues doing her work. No biggie again, I'm irritated that I have to literally stalk an associate down, but I gave her benefit of doubt thinking maybe she didn't hear me...So I keep walking towards her with a smile on my face saying, "excuse me, hi ma'am". This rude woman was STILL ignoring me like a child as her not acknowledging me would make me go away. Once she finally acknowledged my presence with consistent eye contact (she didn't speak at all) I asked her could she please point to an associate working in electronics. She tells me "there's someone there", as if I haven't been searching for someone this entire time. I respond to her and tell her no there's no one there and continue looking for someone to assist me. Again, finally I see another associate walk by and I ask her could he please help me with a product in electronics. This guy tells me the person who works electronics left at 11.....?!?! I'm not sure why I would give a damn about that seeing as thought the store is still open. You would THINK customers would be the main focus. Screw stocking, screw whatever else you're doing...your customer is the main focus. Even though he wasn't able to assist me he did tel me he would get a manager over and came back 5 minutes later telling me she would SEND someone....so I wait AGAIN. 10 minutes and NO ONE was SENT for me. Mind you, I'm not the only customer distressed because of the lack of customer service at this store. It was myself and another young lady who were on the receiving end of this foolishness. YET again another associate passes by and at this point I'm loaded and ready to say screw everything in. I recite to her the same info I've been giving everyone..except this time she was able to actually give me an answer. She informed me that he cord I'm looking for is actually SOLD OUT. ARE. YOU. KIDDING. ME. So this incompetent store just wasted 15-20 minutes of my time not doing the one mains thing they're there to do which is service customers...only to wait all that time and find out the cord I'm looking for is sold out. I NEVER saw a manager and trust me I was looking everywhere to give someone this bit of feedback from this experience. Unfortunately since I wasn't able to find anyone...not a soul here I am telling my story to good ole yelp. I will NEVER step foot in this Walmart again for ANYTHING. Even though it's 8 minutes from my new home. I will go out of my way to go to the Walmart store when I need something. And honestly that's IF I decide to patronize Walmart again. This is first time I've received this level of negligence, incompetence, and total disregard for me as a customer. However I guarantee it's the LAST. I found a product online, and it says I can pick it up in this store, while when I arrived there, I could not find it. I asked a staff there, but she responded rudely "If you couldn't find it, then we don't have it". I asked: "You don't update your stock at all?" She answered: "I don't update it. I don't know". She didn't smile or say hello at all. Really disappointed. I drove all the way from Virginia to Clinton, MD to pick up the product, while they treated me this way. Speechless.
