Goodluck getting an employee to assist you at the sporting goods counter. Waited 20 minutes until i started looking for an employee to help me. I encountered the first employee near the toys section. They informed me that they would get someone over to the counter to help me. After waiting at the counter for 10 minutes i went to go find another employee to help me. I found someone in the electronics area. They told me they would send a person over to help me. After waiting another 10 minutes i was done. I left all of my items on the counter and left the store. I would never go to this Walmart again ever!! I ordered photos online to pick up via Walmart .com and I chose to pick up at this store because it's the closest one. They texted me that my photos were ready within 20 minutes which was fast but when I went there it ended up nobody at the counter at all! How could I get my photos?! I was upset and asked a guy that worked there and about to walked pass me he told me he'd bring someone, anyway nobody showed up. I kept waiting another 10 minutes. I was so pissed off I looked around there's still nobody so my husband walked to the electronic section and got somebody. She told me the guy who worked at the photo center taking a break. Well my question was you didn't put a sign or anything on to let customer know? Moreover that time was 8pm and they closed at 9pm why the heck was he taking a break at that time?! In my opinion you shouldn't let the customer wait whatever reason is, if you take a break at least put a sign up or have somebody cover you. I have worked as a customer service before I might not be the best server but I know what I am supposed to do to satisfied customer. However, the lady that came to help me didn't even apologized. I was thinking to take passport photos there too but I changed my mind told my husband to go CVS which was totally different. The girls that worked there were so nice, asked me right after I walked in the door what I am looking for. That made me feel a lot better! My grandma and i had already had a very long day of running errands and dealing with rude people. Our last stop was Walmart. When we got in, the Covid prevention just made things more clustered and i felt very anxious around everyone. Then we go up to one of the scan and go stations to checkout. Mind you, we were super tired and just wanted to go home. So when we pulled up, we didn't see that there wasn't a screen(meaning it wasn't working). There wasn't any sign or anything and since we were in a rush, we just started scanning. A woman who works there comes up and says "what you you doing" in a very aggressive manner. She continued to be extremely rude and then proceeded to take our stuff out of the bags and throw it into our shopping cart. It was very stressful and awkward, and as someone with anxiety, it was just not a good situation. While I recognize that we made a mistake, we didn't need to be treated like that. read more

I WILL NEVER STEP FOOT IN THIS WALMART AGAIN I called ahead to find out if this location sold chrome book chargers. A man in the electronic department told me they have a universal charger for multiple kinds of laptops including the size for chrome book. His name was wazart and his voice was so raspy I could barely here him on the phone. I would recommend he no longer answers the phones. I got there and the universal pack did not have the size I need. I approached the man and simply said next time if you don't know the question just take the time to ask someone who knows. He pointed at the box and said it says universal, like I was an idiot. He never apologized, he needs to be retrained or let go. The other electronic team members said nothing. I went to the front and customer service said I could leave feedback on the website. I did not find that at all helpful. The woman at customer service was at least somewhat sympathetic. read more

I have never been to a Walmart this deplorable...well the one outside of Andrews AFB is a close second. I'm not sure if it's the workers there, whom I had minimal contact with...or just the environment. For now I'll go with the environment. Make no mistake that this walmart is tiny...very tiny. All the food items are located in the center aisles, which tells me instantly that everything is in limited quantities. I was looking for a specific iced tea mix fully aware that they probably didn't carry it. I was correct but also surprised that they had a green tea in the same brand. Maybe that's popular there, who knows. Also I needed some baby formula...and for the first time in my life I saw that they were out of the most popular brands, like Similac. Who runs out of Similac??? Luckily they had the brand that I needed, but I noticed that their store price was higher than I usually paid. No problem (so I thought), Walmart price matches...especially with their own stores. Well...I was wrong. I got up to the cash register, told the woman my dilemma, and her manager indicated that they only price match local areas. I showed her using the Walmart app the price I usually paid. But because I was in a hurry, I just let it go. She did mention that their prices are based on the income in the area. Well excuse me, I've bought his formula all across northern va...and you mean to tell me that Columbia MD has higher income? If that were the case, the Walmart would be in better shape. read more

The poor upkeep and dirty appearance of the store reminds me of how much the other Walmart stores in the greater Baltimore area - in particular the impressively clean and well-kept one on Ridge Road in Ellicott City - have improved over the last few years. Staff doesn't want to be there, lines can be ridiculous and my biggest issue? They were sold out of flip flops. In June! When I asked the employee if they had anymore in another section of the store or in the back all she said was "no we've been sold out for weeks" in this manner like I was supposed to know this. This is the worst place on earth. When you walk in, you are immediately angry. The whole place has horrible lighting that drives me nuts. The employees are all terrible and unhelpful (though this is true of all Walmarts I've been to). The place is typically mobbed and incredibly messy and unorganized. The service desk looks like something out of the TV show "Hoarders." A generally unpleasant place to go. Too much to write... As you approach a staff member to ask a question they literally ignore you or they might utter a "what u need?" as if you are inconveniencing them to actually do their job. There seems to be a lack of organization in most aisles, opened items on the shelves or opened/used and on the floor!... not very friendly staff, and people that are unfamiliar with where things are located in the store. I really really really......really tried to give this place a chance. But I've simply run out of cants with this one! We recently moved to the area from Glen Burnie. Coming from the Walmart off of Quarterfield road, I had semi- high expectations. After all....its Walmart. I figured it would be nice since its in Howard County and all but this place just needs so much improvement. Never enough registers open....unclean aisles........and the customer service is sub- par. None of the associates seem concerned with helping if you have the need. And I could have sworn an associate made up a general location of a product I was looking for simply because she didn't want to be bothered. A friend warned me not to go here and to stick with the location in Ellicott City! I will try that location next. I know it won't be the last time I go there though....the location is too convenient for last minute items. Every time I've haaaaad to go, I really dread it. The only positive experience I've had is the 'loss prevention' lady who had to check my receipt on the way out - hence the TWO stars instead of one. Go figure! I'm not too used to that at Walmart so I guess they have a theft problem. She was super nice though and put a smile on my face. If they hire more folks like her they may see things turn around??? This is the worst walmart I have ever been to. Never enough cashiers. I only go in there because they sell a cheap version of a special product my cat needs that the EC branch doesn't have. Last time I was in about a week ago I waited in a line for 30 min to have a kid tell me he was closed just as I reached the front. Luckily even though he was into OT the manager made him finish out the line. a lot of good that did he overcharged me scanning one of my items too many times so I got the joy of waiting in CS for 30 MORE minutes. I explained how I had been trying to leave the store for 1 hour and I was calm and polite while doing so. NO APOLOGY from the Customer Service man just a resentful glare. I definately did not have a nice day. This location needs a GM who can whip it in to shape, everyone here is 15 or looks like an ex-con and the store runs accordingly. This Walmart is just as bad as all the other reviews say. Long lines, shady people (in general) and non-existent customer service. The store is long overdue for a renovation/expansion into a supercenter.The store sometimes appears understaffed. The Target on the other side of Dobbin/175 is a much better place to go to shop for groceries and everyday items. There are fast food restaurants like Chik-Fil-A and other stores like Advance Auto nearby, so sometimes it is convenient to stop by this Walmart if you're shopping nearby for other things. read more

While trying to return a product we purchased the day before, we were upset to learn that store policy states that opened inflatable beds cannot be returned. Even though the bed was never used because it was far bigger than the box stated and the Point of Sale does not have the policy posted. We tried to let the customer service manager know that the product was not suitable to our needs, and that we would be amenable to trading it for a smaller version. Unfortunately the smaller version was half price and she was unwilling to do anything but trade it for the same model, which didn't fit. After the customer service got snippy with my wife, she just ignored us. and refused to help us any further; kind of made us feel like common criminals trying to pull a fast one. For the record, I have a high six figure income, my home is paid for and I have no bills. We shop at walmart because the service is usually very good, but because of this incident and the way your staff/management made us feel, we will be taking our business elsewhere. We had heard bad things about the Columbia/Dorsey rd. store through friends and colleagues and via google review; this just verifies what everyone is talking about. We will be letting our friend and colleagues know how badly this store treats its customers. and to your customer service manager Betsy, you should try a new career, other than customer service; maybe flipping burgers or something else in that caliber of jobs. read more
