    Toilet and dirty mop
    Claudia G.

I've made it a point never to go to this Walmart, I'd rather driver further out than to be in this store. Sadly went for the first two me a long time ago. I found my reason to never step foot in it again. Besides the disorganized aisles, madness all around round. The bathroom was disgusting!! Where is safety and sanitation department to report this! It's a large corporate company and they cannot afford labor to keep the bathroom clean? And to make it worse, place a dirty mob to soak up what I'm sure is a leaking toilet? No sign up sheet showing when was the last time it was cleaned. I felt like I was in a gas station bathroom! Walmart, do better than that! You've already locked everything up, now start sanitizing the toilet!!

I only stopped in to grab a few items for my new dog (who wasn't even with us). Instead, I experienced one of the most unprofessional retail experiences I've had. My 3 year-old daughter had an urgent medical need to use the restroom. We asked an employee for help and were told the restroom was "closed." However, another employee indicated it wasn't actually closed but that customers simply weren't being allowed to use it not one but both restrooms. While I was there, I also witnessed another family with a small child being turned away. No business is above California law. Burlington should ensure its employees are familiar with California's Restroom Access Act (Health & Safety Code 118600-118608), which protects customers with qualifying medical conditions who require immediate restroom access under certain circumstances. My daughter has a qualifying medical condition, and I carry documentation with me because emergencies happen. Rather than showing compassion or attempting to understand the situation, your employees were rude, dismissive, and chose to turn away a toddler in obvious distress. If Burlington believes this incident complied with California law and company policy, then corporate should have no problem reviewing what happened. If it did not, then this location clearly needs additional training. Policies should never come before basic human decency. I understand that retailers may restrict restroom access because of concerns about theft, vandalism, or safety. Those are legitimate business concerns. However, what I don't understand is how those concerns justify refusing to help a toddler experiencing an urgent medical need, especially when employees have the ability to unlock the restroom. Policies exist for a reason, but so do exceptions that require common sense, compassion, and an understanding of California law regarding customers with qualifying medical conditions. There is a difference between protecting your store and refusing to show basic human decency. Based on what I experienced and what I witnessed happening to another family it seemed the policy was being applied without any consideration for the circumstances. So we immediately left and abandoned everything we intended to purchase. Another nearby retailer treated us with kindness, allowed my daughter to use the restroom without hesitation, and earned our business instead. Overall, the condition of this store reflected the same lack of care shown by its employees. Hangers were scattered across the floor, merchandise was disorganized, and the store appeared poorly maintained. I will never return to this Burlington or any Burlington. Whether Burlington cares about losing business is up to them. I hope they care about complying with California law, treating families with dignity, and ensuring their employees understand that a little compassion can prevent a child from suffering an unnecessary and humiliating experience. Parents deserve to know what kind of treatment they may receive at this location. I hope Burlington's corporate office investigates this store, reviews its restroom practices, and ensures its employees are properly trained so another family doesn't have to go through what mine did. If Burlington responds with another generic "thank you for your feedback" message while the same complaints continue to appear rude employees, disorganized stores, long lines, and families being turned away from restroom it tells customers exactly how seriously those concerns are being taken. As a therapist, I understand the importance of listening. But listening without taking action isn't accountability it's simply checking a box. Real accountability means investigating what happened, training employees, and making meaningful changes. I really hope Burlington chooses accountability over another empty response. Acknowledgment without accountability or meaningful change is nothing more than performative customer service.

I also appreciated that the baby formula was not locked up, since I've had to wait for employees to unlock it at other locations. The store had a decent selection for what I needed, especially for baby items, and I was able to find what I came in for without too much trouble. As far as value goes? It felt pretty standard for Target. Not the cheapest option, but reasonable enough for the convenience and product availability. Some people swear Walmart is cheaper but i feel the prices aren't too different. That said, this was one of the messiest Target stores I've visited. From the moment I walked in the front of the store looked disorganized and somewhat dirty. Now ...to be fair, the store was packed so I can understand that it may be difficult for employees to keep everything spotless during busy hours. I didn't need direct assistance, so I can't fully judge the customer service. However, I didn't notice many employees greeting customers or saying anything at checkout. On the positive side, the self-checkout area was kept organized and moving. Overall, not a terrible Target, but definitely not the cleanest or most welcoming location. The convenience, decent selection, and easy access from the freeway are the main reasons I'd consider stopping here again.

I enjoy finding good deals, but this recent incident has made me see things differently. A few days ago, I experienced an event that scared me so much that I now doubt I will ever come back probably target pick-up services. However, I want to clarify that this has nothing to do with the employees. Around 6:00 pm, I was shopping with my seven-month-old baby. While browsing through the store, I noticed two male individuals following me persistently. They initially followed me from the baby aisle, then continued to the section with knee braces, and later to where the protein shakes are displayed. I realized they were following me because one of them suddenly approached me and tried to engage in conversation, attempting to flatter me. The second man was walking behind me, which made me feel cornered and unsafe. Feeling uneasy, I decided to call my husband because I also noticed I had a bad gut feeling during this encounter. I waited a few minutes to see if they would leave, and when the cashier offered if security would like to escort me to my vehicle, I chose to decline -- though in hindsight, I will never do that again. Fortunately, my husband was already outside waiting for me. This Target store is always busy, and I've observed that the employees try their best to maintain a safe environment. To clarify, this is the only Target in Fontana; there's another one approximately seven miles away, but this is the closest to my home. Despite the busy atmosphere and diligent staff, I felt extremely unsafe, as if they were trying to take my child away. Mom's, please stay vigilant and don't let your guard down when shopping. Safety should always come first.
