Update *12/6/06* This place is the cess pool of society. I hate going in this store every time! I hate Wal-Mart period.(end) If you want to feel better about how you look, go to this place. On a more serious not, Wal-Mart is the mecca of low prices in this small town. You can practically find anything you want and need in this giant blue box. I give this place a 2/5 just for having everything in stock and for being not to pricey. Other then that, we all know the rap Wal-Mart gets from the media and I sometimes have to agree with them. What can I say, it's a Wal Mart, like all the others I've been too before. This one is on the smaller side. The aisles are crowded and there is a slight off smell to the place. The parking lot is crowded like usual too. I only had two things I was looking to pick up here while in town for a family gathering, so this made it a very quick trip. I found what I needed and was on my way. I guess I forgot what it's like to be in a small agricultural town too. We stop here on our way to Lake Don Pedro every year in July for about a decade now. The family just goes inside Walmart and we split up 3 people in one group (5 groups) and just wonder around. We always come back to our RVs with a lot of stuff. We love this Walmart because the community is just respectful and polite! read more

Incredibly rude employees. It's like they try to hire the most UNFIT people they can find. This place is absolutely ridiculous and probably the worst Walmart to exist. I am coming home from this Walmart right now actually and the employee who is supposed to check your receipt on the way out did not even ask for mine and when I showed it to her she gave me the NASTIEST look and NO RESPONSE. Like many other people I've been to quite a few Wal Marts. This one is one of the worst ever. The most rude, unhelpful, no knowledge having people of any Wal Mart. Even after the recent remodel it is cramped and, small selection. By that I mean they used to have like 10 different toilet paper brands and size selections, now they have like 5 brands with various sizes, the same thing with dish soap, laundry detergent, paper towels, and a lot of other daily use things. My days shopping at Merced Walmart are going to get fewer and fewer. Going to go to Target for better service, cleaner store. Spending the few extra pennies will be worth it read more

It's one thing that walmart is bad for america but this place is just straight up gross. they're supposed to be remodeling but idk if it'll do the town any good. i think i'll stick to the target, even though walmart is only a bike ride away from my apartment. eh, who knows maybe it'll be nicer once the remodel is done.......but again, who knows? Went to Walmart on Loughborough in Merced to get an oil change. Noticed a day after that my car was leaking oil had a mechanic look at it and I can't remember exactly what they said but apparently they said Walmart didn't put the filter or cap back on correctly so my oil was leaking out. Not a Walmart fan .....I would give a ZERO but couldn't....there was a BIG bin/cage filled with Beauty rest pillows and a BIG sign for $2.97 so I got 2 pillows when I got to the cashier they were $15.96 oooops to Walmart when manager came she states policy will only allow 1 item at wrong price.... got my 1 pillow and will continue to shop at Target . Just about the worst Walmart I have been to. Diedra does not manage well and seems to think she has more authority than she does. I've had to wait anywhere from 5 to 25 minutes to get formula. I walked away after getting cash back (stupid I know) and it was taken in seconds by a small child that then ran off with his mom according to the manager who watched the cameras. People hang out near self checkout, staring and Im assuming just waiting for that to happen. I have definitely had more negative experiences than positive here. read more

this is more of a review to let walmart know they should quit using fedex to merced because it ends up sitting in tracy fedex forever. and this is always. i buy a lot of online stuff and every time it goes to fed ex i cringe. i know it wont get here on day scheduled. it goes to tracy ca and sits there. then they have a tracking it will be here today by end of day. bs never happens it sits in a truck til someone has to look for it. i call constantly and it isnt just ground any service hits tracy ca and way late. i just bought a rug from walmart the tracking said it would be here yesterday and it nows says potentially delayed no scheduled delivery date at this time. they should have put it on a truck for delivery today it is their fault it didnt arrive yesterday. sellers please dont use this horrible service. it as been this way long before covid so that excuse is invalid. poor management and rude management read more

Worse Walmart.......I go out of my way to use the Super Walmart in Atwater. Stocking is inconsistent as basic items are available one week and absent the next. Store is dirty....however this may be more attributable to the clientele. Clerks and Staff are helpful and make the effort. The self check out is a joke. You have to hit the red light to get a bag.....I found this out the hard way by grabbing a few bags off the closed aisle. I was yelled at by some clerk who acted like I was an imbecile for actually taking bags I had already paid for. She told me to use the red light. Then she called for service to bring bags to the others waiting in Self Check Out. When I walked out the door after bagging my items...they were still waiting for their bags. Seems to defeat the purpose of self check out. read more

1 STAR FOR UNFAIR TREATMENT AND FOR NOT PROPERLY TICKETED THE ITEMS ON CLEARANCE SECTION. My mom and I went to this branch to buy a yoga mat but normally every time I shop at Walmart I go check the clearance section first to see if they have good deals .I thought I was lucky to find a King Set of sheets on clearance for 6.80 . I purchased it with a couple more items. Since , there was a long line at the register mom and I decided to do scan and go. At the exit door I stopped and showed my receipt the lady scanned it and went straight for the King Sheet which I was gonna say I'm lucky for that price. Unfortunately, I was wrong she ripped the clearance sticker and scanned another barcode . She scanned my YOGA MAT saying its not on my receipt but in fact it was there I showed her. She then called the guard and hand my item and receipt to the guard. The person at the door who scanned my receipt and my items let the other ladies go through without scanning their items and receipt .Aside from the wrong ticketed item why was I treated so unfair is it because I was wearing a hoodie while the other 2 ladies wears casual. She could've checked them also what if they had items that was scanned at wrong price? Instead she told them that they're good and didn't bother checking them . I followed the guard to the customer service area. Gloria scanned it I told her i found it on clearance section I ask if they can honor it but she scanned and it shows the king set was for 16.00 . Gloria told me that people put sticker and come back for it .I don't get her what is she trying to imply?. I told her they better checked the CCTV's to know who did it .I have no other choice I took my 7.02(tax included) back to much for this .They need to train their employees to treat everyone fairly and check all the items on clearance rack if they were ticketed right! read more

Oh my goodness, I have never seen a Walmart with so many workers walking around doing nothing. They only have two of 10 registers in the front open when they could easily open more and because if this the lines are super long. The money services line in the back is a complete joke, waited a whole hours because there was only one personw working back there when I counted at least 6 different associates walk in and out of the place and none came to help. Shoot, if Walmart needs more workers hire me today, hire me right now. This place really needs the help, don't get me started in the lack of care with electric scooters, three of which were all out of order and there were so many shopping carts all over the store, empty, full of stuff, that beglinged to nobody that blocked the way in almost every other aisle. This is one of the worst Walmarts I have ever been to, and I've seen some bad Walmarts, but this one has a special spot on the list of bad. My opinion, hire more workers, train them how to properly maintain their store and then maybe, just maybe, this will be a much more decent experience for the random shopper just passing through. read more

This has nothing to do with the Merced Walmart but to the online service. I could not find the Walmart online yelp page. When I buy from Walmart I buy from their online site. Walmart shipping is the worst shipper and I have had a lot of reailers ship me things. Walmart does NOT secure items in the shipping box, so heavy items get tossed around and crush the delicate items. If you want your delicates to be safe, order them seperate from the heavy items such as a can of soup. Other wise you may find some damged goods. At least they will refund or exchange your item. read more

So I made an order today for an in store item to be picked up from the Merced store. The item was shown to be in stock. After over three hours I recieved an email saying my item was cancelled because it wasn't in stock. Not the first time I have had problems with the Merced store. Once on an site to store item. My item was in the store for over two days and the Merced store said it wasn't there. Yet I had tracked the item to the Merced store. Don't waste your time in the Merced store and drive to Atwater. read more

I honestly would not give this particular store any stars!!! I needed a white shirt for my boys for 4-H. I went in, store is dirty and had a weird smell. Got what unneeded togetherness and checked out. No one was nice or friendly they were just doing their job. On the way out a white male was opening a Gatorade bottle and walked out of the store. I had a few bags and a bucket with me and I was asked for my receipt and my merchandise was checked. The lady behind me was white and she just went through the door. I was and still am offended!!! If I could give this walmart a worse rating I would! The customer service is the worst I've ever seen. I've had multiple negative experiences from waiting an hour for staples to checking lost and found 4 days straight just to be told on the 5th day "I should have came sooner because that item was here but was thrown away yesterday" but today takes the cake. The women working the self checkout at 2pm today should be fired. I waited 20 minutes in a horribly long self checkout line, half of the checkouts were only accepting card, which is all I had anyway. My chase card was declined 3 times which has PLENTY of money in the account. I waited for the lady for about 10 minutes because it said "card declined- server offline" wo I told her there was something wrong with the machine because it says offline she literally raised her voice at me saying "your card was declined because you have no money, theres nothing wrong with the machine" umm excuse me???? Then a lady walks up at that exact moment from a different checkout and says "was your card declined too? The machine isn't working" this place is horrible. read more

5 star not for the store but for RAYMOND who works there, usually in the pick up department, dealing with online orders. (I see him there every time I go pick an order up) He is the ONLY employee that knows his stuff but he is also the ONLY employee who laughs and smiles. He enjoys his job and it shows! The store has been cleaned up recently, and the staff has gotten more helpful and friendly. My major complaint is that if I park in the handicap by the garden center there are never any shopping carts available. There are always lots of them around the parking area (even in the cart corral) but the wheels are all locked on them. I have complained before but they seem to prefer losing a customer to losing a shopping cart. read more

This place is your average small town Walmart. It's pretty dirty, it honestly makes me feel gross when I shop there. The produce is never fresh, the workers are subpar, and they don't seem to restock items fast enough. Every time I've asked a worker for assistance, I'm met with a unenthusiastic look, and they usually can't seem to help because they don't know what's going on. I've been to better, cleaner Walmarts. Go to Target, but if you're looking for a store with better, quality produce, go to FoodMaxx or head over to the Walmart in Atwater. read more

While shopping at this Wal Mart, I parked my cart just outside of the electronics section so I could maneuver into the crowded music area to get a set of blank cd's only to return to see my cart missing and my items laid out on the floor. The older lady that I believe did it had a mustache and looked a little dangerous so I learned to let things go. read more

I really enjoy getting a good savings. The service does needs more coaching and training. Not the employees fault. I think management needs to step in when they are very busy, and show a little more concern. The lube center did not even take down the competitors sticker with next service date, and did not vacuum my car. The Money center? On a minimum I wait 25 minutes. read more

I though I'd seen and heard it all at this Walmart but I was mistaken. While walking by the fitting room I overheard the female employees discussing their herpes. I had to do a double take because I knew that's NOT what I heard. Nope. Herpes. Not even TRYING to be discreet. I shouldn't walk away knowing you didn't inquire the disease from 'suckin d' (her words) but it was passed down at birth. Walmart is dirty, messy, the employees are NOT helpful! The return lines are always busy and the employees are super slow. I hate when their self check lanes are ALL close, they only have 2 cashiers, you have to wait forever!!!! to check out. This is one of the worst Walmarts I've seen. The area around the Walmart is not the greatest so that explains the not so classy customers who go there. The shopping center across from this Walmart is a bit nicer for Merced. The inside of the store seems dirty and unorganized with a lingering smell of stale and old McDonald's food. This Walmart was remodeled last year, but I didn't see much improvement. I'd definitely go to Target or the Super Walmart in Atwater if you don't mind the drive. read more

Probably the worst Walmart in the valley. I only go early early morning so I can avoid the long checkout because there's only ever two cashiers. And if you go any time after ten expect screaming running children with no parents in sight.
