This Walmart need to get there shit together. Went there today around 2 to buy school supplies and a printer. As I went to leave one of the lady's jumped infront of my cart to check my receipt. I stopped and just decided to deal with it. I went home to set up my printer and I was having problems so I decided to call the printer company. They told me to bring it back to the store to exchange it. I drove back to the store with the traffic of 80 with the sink hole. It took me for 40 minutes. I didn't have my receipt anymore and they said that they would give me a gift card. They asked me for my licenses but I forgot it in the car so I went back. They scanned my ID then said the item was non refundable. I asked the women to call the manager even though I hate that. The women's name was Lisa and she told me to go to a different store or talk to the company, btw the women looked high out of her mind. I called the printer company and they said they should have returned it for a new one but said I can talk to someone tomorrow about sending me a knew printer. Then I called Walmart cooperate and they said that they should have returned / exchanged the item and it was bs that they told me they don't do exchanges anymore. The guy from cooperate seemed pissed about what the store did to me. More so upset about the exchanged once I told him that they said they don't do that anymore. We live equidistant between two Walmarts. The boonton outlet and rockaway outlet - literally tenths of a mile difference so travel time isn't a reason to pick one over another. We tried to buy on-sale mulch in Boonton but couldn't get anyone to check us out. Rockaway had 4 helpful folks who loaded the truck with me and we were in and out in 20 minutes. I'm not sure what is going on at this Walmart, but it is not only the worst Walmart I have ever been to, but quite possibly the worst store I've ever been to. It is extremely dirty, there was garbage in the aisles and I nearly tripped over the boxes and loose items scattered all over the place. After navigating this obstacle course I was then nearly knocked over by the foul cheese odor coming from the milk section. Disgusting. If this wasn't bad enough I then found rotten hamburger meat just laying in one of the doors. Is this place for real? I'm absolutely floored as to the level of neglect. Does management even care what a severe health violation this is? I'm surprised I didn't see any rats running around. After that I said screw this and left my cart with the few items I had picked up and got the hell out of there. Please watch out for parking lot Karen! Store employee Anna who was working store pick up on 10/08 decided to walk up to my car and interrupt the phone conversation I was having. Despite other cars parked in pickup, parking lot Karen proceeds to ask me if I'm picking up, I politely told her no. She then proceeded to tell me to move my car because they're getting busy. I ask parking lot Karen why doesn't she ask any of the other cars to move. She says because they're not in their car (but parked in pickup) At this point I point to the car opposite me parked in pickup with a family inside (Free to chat and enjoy their conversation.) My Walmart drama began at the Cedar Knolls location, where I attempted to return a Jetson electric scooter we purchased for our daughter. She was injured riding it on Sunday, October 13th when the bottom plate/bracket came off suddenly and hit into a crack in the sidewalk. Upset with the quality of the item, I attempted to return it at the first chance I could, today October 19th. Cedar Knolls Walmart refused to return the item citing "out of policy". The customer service representative tried to move me along with no explanation. I asked for a manager and a yellow vested employee advised that they didn't carry the item and I had to go to where I purchased it in the Rockaway, NJ location. I was confused, as Walmart is a large corporation. One would think you could buy and return at any of the thousands of locations across the country. I returned to my car and called their customer service number. They confirmed that in some instances you may have to go back to the original location. They added that a salaried manager can override that policy and that I should have spoken to a salaried manager, not the yellow vest employee. They assured me Rockaway could assist. I traveled to the Rockaway location and attempted the return. They also got the out of policy message. After much discussion among 4 different employees, including a store manager, it was determined that the item was purchased over 30 days ago (34) and could not be returned. I was told to deal directly with the manufacturer. I explained that it is a defective item and that under the circumstances, Walmart should take responsibility and honor an exchange or refund. I was willing to purchase a different scooter for equal or greater value. Again they said no. They offered to Google the manufacturer and write down their contact information. Big help. I left the store and called Customer Service again. The representative stated that in this situation it is up to the store manager to decide if they will allow the exchange or refund, depending on the situation. So this manager decided to not let me return an item that injured my child, because I couldn't get to Walmart in Rockaway 4 days earlier. Great decision. Additionally, according to the Customer Service representative on the phone, Walmart corporate policy does not allow for the Corporate side to weigh in or effect the decision of the store manager. I let the representative know that in the future I will take my business elsewhere and that really is a dumb policy, as I am sure not every store manager makes sound decisions 100 percent of the time and those bad decisions can effect the Walmart brand. Pretty clean and neat! The majority of the staff are polite and helpful. There's also a Subways, a nail place, a glasses store and a red box video rental right inside as well. Dear Manager Gabriel, I hope you read this. Long story short, I bought a Keurig for my Mother's Christmas gift at a different Walmart location and it was completely damaged and soaked in water. The other location never labeled it as used or returned and sold it to me as if it were new. It was an online order. Now that you know the backstory, here comes a terrible experience. It was Sunday the day after Christmas and I had to drive 40 minutes away to this location in Rockaway because Teterboro has the Blue Law and cannot accept returns or exchanges on Sundays. I get to Rockaway with my Mother's ruined Christmas gift, which might I add was the most embarrassing gift I ever gave anyone. It was completely damaged before we even got a chance to use it! I go to the customer service where returns or exchanges can be made. They had a huge screen saying "We do returns or exchanges with or without receipts!" Here I was feeling confident and happy thinking this experience is gonna be great. I had my confirmation barcode on my phone ready to go even though they advertise that I do not need it. I get to the lady at the register and explain my situation. "Good morning Miss, I need to do a return on this gift and--" Before I could explain she shouts at me, "WE CANNOT ACCEPT RETURNS OR EXCHANGES." With the worst attitude I have ever received. Mind you I was literally in line watching her do returns for other customers. I tell her in a calm voice, "Ma'am, please I need help here. This was a Christmas gift for my mom and they sold it to me used. My whole online order was a mess and I had to call the helpline and I just drove 40 minutes to get here. I just want an exchange for my mom." Her response, "I NEED a RECEIPT." Yes, she emphasized those words. Even though there is a huge screen saying that as a customer I do not need to have one for exchanges...I show her my confirmation barcode. She scans it and says, "I cannot do the exchange because you purchased this at Teterboro." I stood there mouth open...I was told by the helpline that I could exchange it at any Walmart location. I try to fight my case and begged her to help me out. She said, "No I cannot help you." I asked her, "Is there a supervisor or manager who can help me? I drove almost an hour away because the helpline told me I could come here. Please." She refuses the first 3 times then proceeds to call her "manager." When the manager comes she tells me that she cannot do the exchange because I purchased this at Teterboro. I am confused at this point. As the conversation continues, I notice she hides her name tag. She looks at me and tells me, "I am the manager and it is telling me that I cannot do an exchange, you will have to go back to Teterboro because it was an online order. Or you can call the helpline to figure something else out. There is nothing I can do for you." My brother who was there gets furious and asks, "So you mean to tell us that she bought this product at Walmart and cannot return it at any Walmart except that specific one? What if our mom lived in a different state and received this damaged item? How would she be able to return it? She even bought protection on the item through Walmart and you cannot do an exchange?" She tells him that there is nothing she can do. I ask her for the help number and I call them again. THE HELP LINE TELLS ME CLEARLY THAT I HAVE EVERY RIGHT TO RETURN IT AT ANY WALMART WITH OR WITHOUT A RECEIPT AND FOR ANY REASON WITHOUT QUESTION...He was very kind and refunded me the money. I told him that they would not accept my exchange and he said that they were not giving good customer service and apologized for them. I went back into that Walmart as I was not leaving without my mother's Christmas gift. Went to the Home section, found the same Keurig and went to the checkout. I saw that same "manager" there and she rolled her eyes at me. My brother asked one of the cashier's if that was the manager. Their response was, "She is a supervisor. Ashley." I look at the receipt and the real manager for Sunday Dec 26th 2021 was Gabriel. So Gabriel if you see this, Ashley not only made me feel helpless, but also hopeless. This was the first Christmas I could actually afford expensive gifts for my family members and she only added to my already emotional state. Went to pickup some mulch that i saw advertised online for $2.50. Went to the store after work and filled my cart (alone mind you even though 2 associates saw me lifting these heavy bags myself and didn't even ask if i needed assistance). When i questioned it i was told that Walmart does NOT price match online...which is a little funny to me since it was WALMART.COM that i saw it listed at $2.50 and it was a WALMART store that i went to . I've shopped here a variety of times, but this past Friday I felt like I was being overly monitored. I checked out in the self service area and could not find any peace with the staff that was highly watching me. I wish this type of help was provided to me at other stores. I understand the need to watch for people making attempts to walk away with items unpaid for, but my goodness. I placed limes on the countertop to ring up last, being I would have to look them up, but magically a staff appeared at my side to handle them, really I helped her navigate the search and scanning. Then someone else appeared to ensure all was going great and then as I finished my trans action a staff appeared to see if the tape needed replacing. I will use the regular check out points in the future, if I shop here again. I must mention that I am black. read more

You have to litterally get into a fight with customer service when you start buying things and everything comes out the wrong price. Bought 5 different items and they all came up the price. They were charging us more than doubled the price from what the shelf said. They got into fight after fight on every single item refusing to take the blame on why they just throw products on any free space they see on the shelf. Customer service are real asses. They try to blame the customer first by saying that the customer should know all the UPC numbers of everything they are buying, should know the price and scan ever product they put into their cart. Never once openly admitting what they do, making every single excuse after excuse. Bought a set of glasses that clearly stated $8.96, and they charged me $17. Bought other things in electronics and stationary. They expected us to take pictures of everything that we didnt know they were ripping us off on. They expected us to carry our cell phone, take pictures of everything and making every single excuse possible. You look out over the store and they have no registered open, just the automated ones you use yourself, there's a line of no joke 60 or 70 people lined up going 1/2 through the store and only one person in the automated checkout. They didnt really care whatsoever. They expected us to go back to the opposite side of the store again, back to electronics, back to stationary and every single place we got things. The "itch was making up every excuse saying that 3 different customers put the same exact items on the lower shelf all all at different times and just so neetly stacked them! The *itch expected us to kneel to the very bottom shelf on the ground and look at nice level at the floor, seeing all the crap that was under the shelves and perhaps where the rats lived! Then expected us to see the UPC codes of everything. Total clueless customer service, they called the manager, they didnt come and immediately the manager just gave the item at the price we said. The Walmart in Rockaway NJ is the closest to my home, and the store I frequently shop in, and I am confused and disappointed at what occurred during my visit there last night. Walmart and PayPal advertise a service where cash withdrawals can be made from your PayPal account at the Customer Service counter. I've used this service at this same Walmart for several months. When I went to the counter last night the woman working there very abruptly said " we don't do that". She repeated the same statement over again several times when I said that I've always used the service at this location. She said we stopped in March 9th. I asked her to let me know which location WOULD provide it. She said "I'll get a CSM", and paged for one over the store intercom. A man came over and suggested I go to the store in Flanders NJ. I asked about the Ledgewood location and he called there. Apparently the person at that location inquired why he wouldn't do it. He stated " I'll call back and tell you later, but I can't tell you now." I drove 5 miles from home to the Rockaway store, and 11 miles from that location to Ledgewood to get this done.If I hadn't mentioned Ledgewood, he tried to send me 16 miles away to Flanders. Mind you, these payments are on a 59 minute timer once the payment code is generated. I need to know if this is permanent, why it occurred, and why no posted information is available concerning the change of service. At least post a sign before I get to the line and generate a timed code to show, just to be rejected. Why did I have to drive 30 miles?!! What is the big secret?? Very disappointed!! read more

I am just reviewing about the scam going on at the Walmart in Rockaway Nj. I went there this morning. The Easter candy had a sign saying 50% off. I picked up a bunch. The price when ringing up was higher than the price on the boxes holding the items. One person agreed when I explained the mishap. Next, they put a marker over the prices on the display and covered them up with tape. I ended not getting 50% off of the candy, which was not fair. I left because the manager there (a lady with short blonde hair- very short hair) threatened to call the cops on me because I said what they were doing was not fair. I bought the candy because my kids were present. The level of disappointment in the fraud that occurred today at your store was unreal. I paid $68.48 in candy that should have been 50% off the listed the price not the original highest price. This store is terrible. After the transaction was complete, I had items that needed to be checked out. So, I checked out in the standard check out area only for my cashier to not speak English well. Although, she did manage to interrogate me the best she could about the item I retrieved from the online to store area. Repetitively asking me to see my receipt. She was completely unprofessional. I'd rather patronize target and Bed Bath and Beyond for all future purchases. I gave it 3 stars ONLY because of the one pleasant experience where management was helpful in a previous visit.
