I was shopping at Walmart this morning. In the $5 pile of movies, was one I liked. I went thru the self-check-out and the bill came to over $100. On the way to my car, I checked my receipt to find out what was so expensive. The register rang the DVD up for $39.99 inste4ad of $5. I didn't even make it to my car, I turned around and went right back into the store. Scan after scan they kept telling me my receipt wasn't showing in the system. They would not give me a refund and they told me to come back a few hours later, maybe then the receipt will be in the system. I am 65 years old, and I live on a very limited income. I live in Oakland and the store is in San Leandro. Now if I want my $40 back, I need to make another trip to San Leandro. They could have AT LEAST taken the DVD back and given me store credit, but they wouldn't even do that read more

I am from out of town wanting to just get some Red Bull's that they locked up. I pushed the button and waited 5-10mins. Then I pushed it again and still no one came. So I asked a worker if she can get it for me. She then asked if i push the button. I said that pushed it twice. She said she will ask someone to come and to go wait again. So then I waited 5-10mins again. I heard they called it on the intercom and still no one came. The little lady that I asked to help me came back to check on me and she said no one came still. I said yup... I waiting another 5mins and no one so I left and went to find a manager. I then went to speak to customer service rep (I think his name was Colten) up front and asked who the manager was. He didn't answer me. I then told him just to relay a message, he answered me rudely and said what, I said that I waited over 20mins for something and never got it. He then says very short, sorry... Used to be way more organized & efficient & I didn't mind coming here. Now that this is the only Walmart closest to Oakland, EVERYONE comes here & it's so crowded every time. No parking, long lines, the store became very messy, workers are clueless as fuck, etc. It's just very frustrating coming here now. If I could give this place no stars, I would. I have never received worse service from Walmart then was received today. I asked my poor mom to pick up a Walmart order today which should have gone off without a hitch. I got the email saying that my order was ready for pickup and my mom arrived and checked in on the app. She waited 30 minutes with no service as other cars around her came and went. She finally had to flag someone down who told her that they had cancelled my order without notifying me and had to go and get all of the items again. 30 minutes go by AGAIN and she had to flag down the same boy who was surprised she had not been helped and went and got my order and brought it to her. By the time she received the order she had been at Walmart for about an hour and 20 minutes. During this experience I also tried to call Walmart twice. The first time someone answered but was silent for a couple minutes and then hung up. The second time I was on the line waiting for about 12 minutes and no one answered. I made an online order and went to pick it up in store, big mistake. Number 1, the online kiosk has been broken for 3 weeks, so you have to stand in the layaway line. Its suppose to open at 8am, but they couldn't find a person with the key, so it didn't open until 825. With 6 customers in front of me, I did not get to the front of the line until 855. I came to Walmart for 3 simple human needs that EVERY AMERICAN HAS A RIGHT TO! 1 PORKCHOP 2 INSULIN AND SSRI PRESCRIPTION 3 DVD & SLINGSHOT & MOTOR OIL FOR MY RAM! 4. MY WIFES WIPES! needless to say i got a bit turned around somwhere between porkchop and insulin, and ended up getting lost,...to make matters worse, once i had finally found a good chop my electronic rascals cart battery died.. so without any other options i was forced to wait 3 1/2 hours for my rascall to fully recharge. The only thing that kept me going through this hell of an ordeal was Walmart Radio! Hearing all my tunes gave me the strength and will to standby as my rascals battery regained its strength. to tell ya the truth I ALMOS FROT I WAS SHOPPING FOR A MOMENT LOL! Shop lifting is so bad even the locks are locked up ! The pepper spray isn't , and you need to be 18 to buy it . Some of the male employees need to be potty trained . I come here first thing in the morning . Can't count how many times someone has peed on the toilet seat or not flushed . There's also signs of theft ...open packages ... Self check out is rarely open . This morning I started to use it because I saw this blonde woman checking things out . She said it was closed and I couldn't use it ! That area was chained off though the machines were active . Who was she ? Too often there's lines and the self check area is chained off . Not happy when the person in front of me has 50 things in their cart . I've been buying Chester's Cheese puffs ..the bag say's $2.29...but when I checked my slip this morning I was charged $2.50 ! Cheap bags of candy were what I needed from this WalMart trip. I also needed some binders for a big work project I was working on. Office supplies and goodies to give away at conventions are pretty cheap at WalMart. I also found some really cool Ice Cube decorations in the Arts & Crafts Wedding Section. It's a typical Walmart, that's pretty much the only thing that comes to my mind. The checkout lines are usually always long and a few times I noticed that they were training cashiers during a rush (there definitely were many mistakes make during the transactions). I really like getting sleeping shirts here since they're pretty soft and decent in price (best is that they have some Disney shirts too!). Another thing I always come here for are tsum tsum items. The last time I was here, I found the area for tsum tsum mystery packs completely filled and a few extra unopened boxes on the shelves above (yay!!). I had to ask for help to get it down, yay shortness and the employees were very helpful. This Walmart always seem to be very packed and shelves are always stocked really well. Not complaints there at all. Final Thoughts: Check-out takes forever with only a few registers opened and lines super crazy long. Parking is alright but because if you drink in front of the store to get back or to load the car, people will walk in front without looking. All in all, it's Walmart. read more

About 10 years ago, I was always shopping at this location, now you are lucky to even hear mention its name let alone shop there. I decided tonight (after about 4 years) that I needed a fan since it is just unreasonably hot tonight. Usually I would have tried anywhere BUT walmart, but when it is 10 o clock at night what other choices do you have?? ANYWAYS Went to Walmart, bought a Lasko tower fan (I picked it because it is the same fan I bought about 5 years ago and I love it to this day). It was the LAST ONE the box was DAMAGED and obviously tampered with. I asked an associate in customer service to open the box with me so that I may check it out but nope. That wasn't an option. I get it, it's late, you want the people to leave so you can go home. Ok cool. Asked if I could get a discount seeing as it has obviously been returned. ONCE AGAIN nope. So what if I buy a broken fan? I ask. Dude with the dreads says... No worries ma'am we check all items before they are taken back. Uh huh right... I think to myself. Then I ask again , "soooo what if the fan is broken?" Well you can just return it if it is broken but i am pretty sure it isn't or we will discount it then. Paid for the fan. Took the fan home. Before you can make it to the door someone is trying to sell you CDs, clean your headlights, want you to sign up for this, sign that...make me want to turn around and leave. I've finally found a decent time to go, early in the morning before work. Why is EVERYTHING locked up? Dove soap, toothpaste, allergy medicine, cold medicine, Tide detergent...you have to wait on someone with a yellow vest to unlock the case just to hand you the product! Everything in the store is locked up which require more personnel to be on the sales floor to help unlock. I haven't shopped at this Walmart or any Walmart for about 15 years. I'm not a fan of Walmart or big box store (and that includes Costco), but after doing some research on their website, I found a certain item that I needed for an upcoming celebratory event in September. A quick telephone call was made to the store to find out if they had the merchandise in stock. I gave them the model number and the Walmart stock number for the Libbey Royal Grape Floral Bud Vase; thus, hastening the inquiry/response. Yes, said the sales associates, "we have four of them at $1.97 each." Me: "Hold them for me and I will stop by between 6:30 PM to 7 PM for pick up. Thanks." They were holding my items in the craft section. Male sales associate was helping three other customers before me. They all wanted yardages of material...fine with me. I can wait. He thanked me for waiting and mentioned other customers would have simply barged in and demanded the vases immediately. Common courtesy is to wait one's turn. I took the vases to the front, paid for them and left out of the store in less than half an hour's time. I don't browse especially when hubby is waiting in car in parking lot. Nope, just go in, get the items, pay for them and head out the door. read more

I came in to return an item that I paid with a gift card. The Walmart employee returned my item back to the old gift card that I do not have anymore. I was not aware that you are suppose to hold on to the gift card. The employee didnt' know herself. She went to get a manager and two arrived to supposedly assist. Both of them told me since I threw my gift card away that there is nothing they can do it is WALMART policy and they took my product with them and I lost $150?. OMG!!!!!!!!!!! I could not believe she had no solutions at all. I told her I was not leaving until we figure this out. THEY BOTH WALKED AWAY! The previous young lady who reimburse me was very apologetic. We stayed at the store and the managers came back again and my husband said this doesnt make sense there has to be a solution. You took $150 dollars from us and you took our product. What are we suppose to do now? Toya and Nora both managers said, sorry nothing else we can do and walked away again and said, you have a problem with it call customer service (40min already passed). My husband and I called customer service while we were still in the store and explained our situation. Let me tell you want the representative said. She asked me, "do you have an account on line"? I said yes. She now says, "hold and let me see how you purchased the item and let me see what you purchased it with please give me 2 min". She came back on the line and says, "I cancelled your old gift card and I am issuing you a new gift card coming to your email right now. I will stay on hold until you receive it, she said" I did receive it within 2 min. I told her I cannot believe you resolved this in 2 minutes and the ordeal I had here at Walmart. They need better training. The representative over the phone was kind and resolved our issue. The next day I filed a complaint on both Toya and Nora to Walmart Headquarters. What's even more crazy that Nora was telling the new employee who was helping us about how to handle gift cards so if the employee didn't know, how were we suppose to know. So with that said, I am telling all who shop at WALMART. If you have issues forget about talking to the unprofessional manager, non-caring, attidudes that they have, just call customer service . You will save an hour of grief and headache. This whole experience was so unnecessary. That whole store needs to take a course on how to treat people especially when were supporting the store by shopping there which gives jobs. Right?! read more

It's Walmart, how great or ungreat can it get? Anyways, they finished up remodeling and how have an extensive collection of food! Just never ending isles, (I wish) of food. They also installed refrigerators, so there's ice cream, frozens, meat, etcetc in addition to having fruits and other perishable items for sale. They changed up the interior of the store, but offer maps for those who are new to the changes. The return lines are running more smoothly and shorter, from my experience. Overall, they have more selection and the store looks less cluttered. Plus, the McDonalds now has free wifi for your shopping convenience! I'm glad they opened two more walmart smack back to back to the Davis street one, so whenever I come there aren't that many people. Plus, they now open until midnight. read more

Definitely don't recommend, employees can't provide a simple bandaid for customers, had a cut out of nowhere and was bleeding, then they had me tryna buy the pack, ma'am I only need one. I have a whole case full at home, Then someone directed me to the pharmacy, only for the B* Female at the consult booth to tell me she "Looked everywhere and didn't Find any" I waited, Then a guy came over seemed like a Higher Level Employee asked what I need help with told him my simple need, Had to Pull the Im HIV positive, just to get my simple need. Mind you I pulled it twice, firstly when I got to the front of the store, The customer service Dept, Damn lady said she don't got No First Aid Kit. 1st off that's a lie because you need to keep first aid kits handy in case someone gets hurt on the job etc or Anyone in need, I think it's osha requirement or something like that, (all businesses) for example CINTAS provides first aid kits for employees(Fact),..etc.. Then after I got taken care of i went over to the baby department to get what I needed, found what I needed is locked up, and went in a speedy search around the aisle to find an employee (waited 2 minutes after I pushed the button for assistance, nobody came) couldn't Find anyone then headed over to the toys department only to find a lady that was super unhelpful Deada** she's being paid to work to help out customers in need and if she can't do the job, help the person find someone who can do it, she's getting paid to work. Not to say that she's being demanded to stay in that department and not help anyone out, because that's exactly what she said to me only that's she's Mexican, can't even understand English so you need to talk to her in Spanish. smh.
