One issue I've had with this and the "Neighborhood Market" (same parking lot) is that the exact same food items are often different prices in each store- like for a week or two, and then they switch To each opposite price. I personally HATE anything to do with Walmart on general. They make you think you're paying lower prices with their fancy marketing, but it's hit or miss. It doesn't feel very inexpensive when any other sore in town is pretty much cheaper. And a total freak show, in classic walmart fashion. I do have to say that this particular Wal-Mart seems to draw a different crowd, like they tend to look half way put together. Still, there's kids playing like they're in daycare, while their mommas scream, slap and yell at them, but ignore them at the same time. I've had to restrain myself many a time while some chick was watching her kid nearly kill himself (because he's 2) and then smack him. She's embarrassed- not at her negligent parenting, but because he won't "shut the F up". He was embarrassing her, she's on FB, getting a text, whatevs...Gotta get the Walmart selfie! And sometimes there's breathing room only. But, hey, it's walmart. Like any place, half the cashiers are rude as anything you'd expect in Wally World. I love listening to them complain about eachother as I stand in line for 20 minutes at the one of 2 registers open, midday or weekends. Super professional (no, that was sacrasm) especially when you're like 50. I guess it's cool, people gotta gossip! And b****! The greeters/ receipt checkers are friendly and fun, nice people. The lady in the garden center is my fav, she's got a sweet spirit! The 2 Asian ladies who tend to work the last cashier aisle, the cigarette aisle, seem to be the only professional cashiers there. I specifically look for them when I need to check out. I don't need some nosey old lady trying to one-up me on what she suspects is major PMS because I'm buying beer, tampons and midol. I don't want to hear about your history of cramps, for real. Especially because your a stranger, you assume too much, menstruation makes the 15 men behind me nauseas, and you think it makes you hot or whatever? Doom and Gloom bloody horror stories from a 40-something "happily done with the rag" (her words, classy) are not attractive or cool, i promise. It was funny for like 3 seconds, but just let it go- haha, yes, wow, you're female too and use to bleed worse than me, I guess. I'll be sure to nominate you for a medal. Just let me leave please, I want nothing more than to leave this chaotic death trap of insane people. Sorry. That one is ridiculous. And she can't take a hint of "no the place " and "whoa, TMI!"... I only go here out of necessity. It's the closest store for 30 miles. Ehhhh. Sacrifices we make for the serenity of living in the boonies! If you need food and less chaos, go to the Walmart food store next door :) the supplies have been limited lately, but it will definitely save you a headache or 2 looking for food. But, remember, even that other store has a lot of basics, but even if the shelves aren't bare, the choices are limited. However, no crappy overpriced clothing or junk. Sigh. No dogging on the employees over there- they're ALWAYS friendly and attempting to stock the shelves at all times of the day. The managers who are on the floor (stocking) are super professional and friendly. Except the 2 olde lady cashiers, they're grumpy. I would be too, don't blame them, but at least they could fake a little less negativity. Managers all seem positive. Especially the short Mexican guy. Super, super happy to be there- even if he's not. If you only need food, choose the second store. I wish they'd keep the prices consistent, I'd never have to step foot in the "big walmart". read more

I have been here so many times i could not keep count. In my personal opinion it is not the best store to shop at in Santa Maria. This specific store is huge and has many sections, but the workers here are not very friendly and show the unhappiness of being there. The workers seem to be irritated all the time and don't seem to know what they are doing. When I went to go ask a worker if she knew what section/area contained the mens clothes and she didn't seem to know where anything was. Yes the prices are low, but the store is so confusing and scattered that it takes a waste of time to find what you are looking for. When I compare Walmart to others stores Walmart always seems to be lacking the standards that makes you want to go back and be a consistent customer. This Walmart is not clean and unorganized compared to most stores in town. You will find scattered items everywhere you go down almost every aisle. I would not recommend going to this Walmart to anyone unless it was for an emergency and you are around this Walmart. Pretend you are walking into a store that is gigantic and long, but nobody is there to help you out or guide you a certain way. When you enter the Walmart you are completely lost and don't know where the item you need is . So you ask a worker where you can find a specific item and they don't even know where it is. Also from my experience, they have the worst attitude I have ever experienced. It is as if they don't even want to be there but they are forced to. You walk into an aisle and find thousands of random and misplaced items in that aisle. The workers don't seem to be organizing anything or cleaning up. Even though their prices are low, wouldn't you pay a little bit more to get better costumer service and quality items. Unless you want to be lost in a large store full of rude employees. It is highly likely you can find a superior store around your area like Target, Walgreens, or even Ross. Although they might be a tad bit more pricy I am confident it is worth it. If you do not want to go to a low quality store like Walmart, why not just go to Target or K-mart. These stores actually do care about their customers and provide for them. I feel like everybody needs a store that can have high quality employee's that care for about their customers and be well organized. There are many other competitors of Walmart like Target or K-Mart. They try so hard to be joyful, friendly, happy, but they do not get the chance to be recognized because 100,000,000 people go to Walmart in just a week. Also Target has the friendliest staff I have seen from my experience. They greet you with a smile and ask if you need any assistance. They have aisles that are wide and have a lot of open space so you don't have to worry about hitting someone else's cart or crashing into the shelves. There has been research that shows that if you go to Walmart you can be victim of a disease or virus. Researchers from Stanford University show that 90% of customers from Target and K-Mart are less vulnerable to diseases. read more

Today I wasted my time going into Santa Maria's Wal-Mart. Never in my life have I encountered such an awful shopping experience like today's. The isle floors where so dirty that I couldn't even find a place to step on without stepping on the stores merchandise. Also I couldn't even find what I was looking for. They had run out of things I wanted and it was a complete mess. I tried asking the employers of the store to try and help me find what I was looking for but I got rudeness in return. The cashier was very rude I'm guessing she was too lazy to do anything like help a customer find what he was looking for. I walked in expecting to find what I was looking for and expecting good servers from the employees but got the opposite in return. Every time I've tried purchasing something from Wal-Mart whether it being online or from the actual store I have encountered problems like the ones I had experienced that day and one experience that I had which happened a couple weeks after. Never again will I shop at Wal-Mart The second bad experience that I encountered at Wal-Mart was when I ordered an iPod online marking the pick up at store option. It was the brand new iPod 5. It had just been available on Wal-Mart. I was so excited to finally get it till something happened. I was expecting my order to come in two weeks just like the email I got from them said. But no a month passed and I still hadn't gotten anything. I called customer service trying to find out what was wrong but I got put on hold for thirty minutes. I then later got disconnected. Angered at what had occurred I decided to email them. No reply. Two weeks later I had gotten notified that my order hadn't gotten through. The only thing I got back from them was a sorry. I didn't want any sorry I wanted the iPod I paid for and waited for a long time. I will start going somewhere else besides Wal-Mart. Bad service and lack of professionalism from employees aren't the only problems. Also the lack of items to purchase. Things run out but no one worries about restocking the shelves so there could be enough merchandise for the buyers to be able to get a lot of the same item. The clothes are not that good. The shoes after a while make your feet smell bad. Who would want to get stinky feet? Well I know I wouldn't. The environment in the store isn't friendly. You don't even feel welcome when you walk in. It's as if the employees don't even want to be there. I would also like to address another problem like the McDonalds inside Wal-Mart. They tried getting something that would catch people's attention but it's catching something negative instead of something positive. The McDonalds is too small for a lot of people to eat at. It is also very noisy due to the people shopping at the store. Something very important is that the menu doesn't include all the items available at a normal McDonald's location. I have been in Wal-Mart many times. I personally think everything smashed in there it's very crowded in the weekends. So I often go during the work/school days. The employees don't make an effort to help. I really recommend going in the mornings because for some reason they treat you better and really assist you. The aisles are very small in size there's only space for 2 carts and when maneuvering you often have to move it and be impatient. Often when I go to this Wal-Mart I hear scream from kids who want their video games. I really don't recommend going to place unless you are in a hurry and need your stuff you desire. So trust me I wouldn't go to this store often like me. I personally feel like this place is going bankrupt and they need to fix it. They don't have many specific stuff like a unique monitor. All they really have is huge TV's but they are garbage. Last time I bought a TV from them was 2 years ago. The TV broke its self and I was mad I saved a lot of money and it broke 2 months later. It was funny when they didn't ask for insurance. I really felt annoyed that day. Also the employees are always so sad like they were in depression. They also never clean the bathrooms. Right when I walk in it sticks and toilet paper in the floor. Never have I seen someone clean the toilets. I know you don't want to go to Wal-Mart so why not just go to Target or K-mart. They for some reason do care about their customers. I feel like everybody needs a fresh new shopping center. The other competitors of Wal-Mart are trying so hard to be friendly, happy, enjoyable, but they get the chance because everybody goes to Wal-Mart. Also Target has the friendliest staff I have seen they greet you with a smile. They have aisle that are big enough so you don't have to worry about hitting someone else's cart. Wal-Mart is the best store that was ever made. I always go for anything I need. I go every weekend sometimes I go during the week also. Wal-mart is my favorite store because I find everything I need. Best of all is that everything from food to cloth to electronics and much more all in one store. My aunt has been working there for the past six years and states that it is the best place to work at. It is cleaned every day even throughout the day. The restrooms are like no other restrooms I have been in. They are always kept sanitary. Also you don't have to go anywhere else if you get hungry because they have a McDonalds inside the store. So you can go shopping and get something to eat without having to go to any other place. At Wal-mart you can find a variety of things. One of the items that you will find are some chocolaty chip cookies with a cup of freezing cold milk. In the winter time they have some very soft, fury, warm jackets. Also in the summer time there are some very colorful swim suits. Some are two piece and others one piece whatever your choice is they have it. There are so many different colors of nail polish. Some are bright and colorful and others dark and pale and others in the middle. All there makeup products are amazing there are so many to choose from. Everything that you possibly need and want is in one store and that store is Wal-mart. The prices are lower than at other stores. All there stuff are high quality, and there food are changed out every day. There are many Walmart's all over the world so no matter where you are at you can go to a Wal-mart. read more

Walmart has been a true friend on saving money! once i bought a Mic for my ps3 and i couldn't find them. Glady i asked a work named Tyrone, and he was the friendlist guy ever! He helped me compare prices and showed me walmart had the cheapest and best! I was so glad i had friendly customer service and on top of the i saved a lot of money. My doctor once recomended me the best vitamins. He told me to go to walmart because thats where they have the best and cheapest price. Others sell it for 20-30 dollars, but at Walmart only $9.99! I was staisfied to the max. My doctor is an expert in vitamins and trusted him. He was right that Walmart had the best. So if you like to save money and get the best go to Walmart. I put a photo order (2678094120632) online at 10:38am (September 25, 2017) and it showed order ready at 11:37am. I got there around that time and it wasn't ready. Beats the purpose of paying extra for one hour right. So I told the associate ill shop first and I came back within 10-15 mins later to tell me that the printer is still not working, the normal photo associate didnt show up and told me to come back 30 mins later, which I cannot do plus the whole reason I wanted it in an hour. So I decided to cancel my order and get my money back. The manager on duty says I cannot get a refund at the store and I have to do it online. That was it. No apologies, nothing. Now although the online chat person was helpful and fast, I now have to wait up to 5 business days to get my money back. Headed to Costco now to get my photos printed.
