Poor experience. The white male manager and white cashier lady was being neglectful towards my father and uncle who are African American They came in to buy beer they are 30+ they refused to cash them out and denied them to purchase any alcohol beverages. They didn't give any reasoning on why they wouldn't service us and we had ID. This is a horrible place to shop! There should be change of employees and management. read more

The auto care center is is ridiculous. Cause I called them they said come 2 o'clock , when I came 2 o'clock the guy wasn't know what he's doing. So we went to Walmart to pick up a few things and it was an experience. Not sure exactly what in the world makes Walmart so special but people flock to it and it becomes a place where you can barely move around without being run into or almost run down by people going through the area. My wife always likes to take a look at the clearance section to see what they got and it was a bunch of school supplies and I always like to use the composition notebooks for work, so I always check to see how much they are, so I was pretty excited to see that they were they were a dollar fifty a book in the clearance section and that to me was amazing. Again as with places there were no employees around to ask for help my wife was looking at nails but they were locked up and because no one was around we weren't able to see what they had so we just kept it moving. We were able to get a couple things that we needed but not everything but that's the story of my life of Walmart. This particular Walmart has a very small food section it's not as large as the other ones it's just like a little strip section in the middle of the store. I do have some pretty good stuff though overall so if you're ever in the area it would be worth stopping in and taking a look. Thank you for listening. read more

Shopping today and saw customers walking around without face masks. There should be an employee at the entrance not allowing anyone in that is not wearing a face mask. If it happens again, I will be calling the Health Dept and the Attorney General's office. read more

Overall not a bad store. Employees are friendly and helpful, and of course the prices are good. However, this store almost never has two cashiers working back in lawn and garden. 99% of the time, it's just one cashier, and the line gets SO long. Also, they completely close down the lawn and garden registers and entrance over the winter, which is a HUGE issue for me because I'm disabled. I take the bus, so I use the lawn and garden entrance / exit exclusively because it is close to the bus stop. In the winter with the snow and ice, it's extremely difficult, if not impossible, for me to carry my shopping bags from the front door all the way to the bus stop. read more

Do not use a debit or credit card here. It isn't safe. I purchased a defective computer which I returned the following day. They refunded the purchase, then charged me for it again. I even verified the transaction with my bank. They refuse to refund their mistake. read more

I won't go in here anymore. I don't care for Walmart in general, but after a 22 minute "express" check out I have war flashbacks whenever anyone mentions stopping by. Nope. You just can't run a store like this (at least not for very long). Packages are open and strewn about, employees are few and completely uninterested in you or the world around them... And the checkouts?!?! Holy moly -- you have that many for a reason, why are only three open on a Saturday?! read more

Customer service is terrible and people are extremely rude. Lines are always so long. They gave 15 or so lines to cash out on with only 2 open. Giving it one star is still to many. read more

I wasn't a Walmart fan but four years ago it changed, I moved to Montana and Walmart had most of the services I needed to adjust to my new environment. Initially there was that odd following my steps as if I were a possible shop lifter, uncomfortable and annoying. I've made myself a frequent shopper to make my presence known to minimize or eliminate their guarded surveillance. It has improved. There are a few things that lack luster but have learned not to expect excellence in those areas. read more

I don't usually go to the Altamont Avenue, Schenectady, NY store because I live closer to another Walmart. Today I ordered a microwave and I had to pick it up at the Altamont Avenue store. I had the best experience at the Pick Up in the back of the store. The employee who waited on me was Celine (not sure of spelling). She saw that I did not have a cart and went and found one for me. She took me to the front of the store where she asked Clifford to help me to my car. Both of these employees went above what I expected today. They changed the layout of the store where I have lived near the store for all my life. So I remember it before they changed. I have mixed feelings about the interior change and updating. I loved the old layout because I knew where everything was it's what I grew up with but now I'm wandering around the store (maybe that's intended) to find items that before were pretty easy. For example could not find biore strips for my nose in the store but they should be in the isle with all the face stuff. So that has made me instead just shop online and get it shipped to store free because I don't feel like wandering the halls. But the one plus is self checkout. I go to it all the time! I don't want to wait in line with other rude people of schenectady yelling at walmart because of ignorant and stupid reasons I love just walking up scanning my stuff and getting out of there with no one to deal with :). read more

went into this wall mart today never been in there i liked it! lots of selection of cloths that i liked and wanted allthough i did not have much money on me at the time. i was very pleased with jerry in electronics he sold me some skull candys and i am pleased with them he was right they are the best and so are you gerry! lol thankyou for that more people should deal with you. i spent the same amount maybe more to the indians and wow did i get ripped off the sound was nowheres near as good and they lasted a week. ill be returing to this store in the future read more

I am so sad that my Walmart Neighborhood market in Mansion Square in Niskayuna is closing. The people at the pharmacy know you by name and are helpful and friendly. The rest of the workers are helpful too. Now my choice is to send my prescriptions back to CVS (right down the road), where I hate to go because they are so slow and half the time they are out of the medication you need. In addition, you call in an order in the morning and tell them you will pick it up at 6 PM and when you get there, half the time it isn't even ready and you have to wait another 20 minutes. But this isn't about CVS. It's about the fact that if I stay with Walmart Pharmacy, I'll be forced to go to the Altamont Avenue "Ghetto" store. I've used their pharmacy before....before the Niskayuna store opened and they are soooooo slow and there is always a huge line of people waiting to pick up their meds. And just like CVS, you go there and put your order in and are told to come back in 20 minutes which often turns in to 45 minutes. I am not looking forward to dealing with the ignorant, rude, uneducated workers at the Rotterdam Walmart. Every time I leave that store, I feel like I need to go home and take a bath. The place is so gross. Equally as disgusting are the types of customers that go into this store. This place is infested with uneducated rude welfare cheats who drag along their 10 children who run around the store destroying everything and of course the parents ignore them and let them do what they want. I get in and out of this place as quick as I can...before I catch some incureable disease. read more

Do NOT use Walmart Savings Catcher for expensive items! Walmart Savings Catcher Do NOT work for expensive items or eletronics. I bought a LG TV model # 43LF5400 on 1/30/2016 for $298+tax=$318.86. The exact brand new TV was on sale for $277.99 at Sears and on Amazon(free shipping) that day. When I told this to the sale representative at Walmart, he told me that I can get the difference back from Savings Catcher. So, I bought the TV at Walmart instead of at Sears or Amazon that day. I came back home and entered the Savings Catcher receipt information. I also saved the website price description on Amazon and google sale price listings for Sears just in case. I did not get the $20.01 difference as promised. Walmart Savings Catcher has no service phone number, so I wrote them. It's been two weeks without reply. I'm never buying another expensive item at Walmart if there's a better price elsewhere. read more
