This store isn't *so* bad, this is a four star review for a Walmart, not comparing to high end stores! Prices are getting higher but I don't have a problem going here for boxed/canned items or gifts as they are still more reasonable, and it's typically a one-stop shop for everything but produce. Pros? It's has nearly everything in one go. The outdoor pickup is fast if you're unable to bring your little ones inside or don't have time to walk through the store. I've also ordered same-day delivery through the website on days where I couldn't leave, so that's a decent bonus. You can grab some nice birthday or Christmas gifts for a relatively reasonable price. The bakery has a generous amount of custom cakes for events or parties that you can order online (or in-store) for pickup. The people working the aisles have been friendly. Cons? They recently redid the aisle numbers and some if them don't make much sense in terms of positioning, even the employees seemed confused. They could improve their stock during the holidays for sure, it should be obvious what products to keep more of, especially common things like Legos, electronics etc. I can give some of the employees (except management) some grace, as their staff turnover rate is so high that they aren't properly trained but customer service has been okay. I think one of their biggest issues is the checkout lines; they are incredibly long and this hasn't improved. Walmart now had dozens of self check-out as a way to solve their staffing shortage but it is definitely an inconvenience to the customer. Things to avoid: I would recommend buying baby puree and boxed foods elsewhere for pricing (ie. Aldi). Last, this is not where you want to purchase produce, it's low-tier quality so I plan accordingly. All in all, they save me money on boxed items and gifts and for now, that's good enough for me if I have the time to roam the city that is Walmart. Had a pick up order of 200.00 and 2 packages of BASIL, when I got home the basil was un-useable had slim and mold on it, so I went to return it the next day. They told me at returns that it was a un-returnable item per BARRY one of the LEADS there, what gives this store the right to give you crappy product and then not give you your money back. As a matter of fact the 3 packages on the shelf there were also moldy and slimmy so I couldn't even exchange it. But I'm sure glad that BARRY the LEAD not even the manager, made that decision about this transaction. Its bad enough that grocery prices are so high, now WALMART wont take responsibility for their shitty produce. Its not about the money, its about the fact that they are ripping people off. read more

Pharmacy staff are all friendly, professional and have time to use patience with their senior customers. The Pharmacists take time to explain new medications and check for interactions. The Tire center is pathetic they are not up front with their prices of everything tires +all the other taxs when you buy your tires. I asked the lady behind the desk for the price of the tires and taxs everything else she only gave me the price of the tires pathetic so then after the next day when i got my tires there was all kinds of magical taxs i will never buy tires there again. Last time i got tires i went to Hartje Tire & Auto Service Center in La Valle i should have just went there to start with. They also love to damage your wheels since mine now have chips out of them around the holes where your lug nuts go so yeah if you dont care about your vehicle and love dealing with rip off artists then by all means go to Walmart read more

This store is understaffed more than half the time and shelves are empty too often.Prices ar increasing weekly on far too many items. This is called coeporate greed and it is the beginning of the end of Walmart.This will not happen overnight;it will take several years but eventually Amazon will be their demise. Only if the topdogs at Walmart pull their head out of their ass and make some drastic changes can this company be saved. . A compay cannot survive without good employees and throwing more money at employees is not going to result in positive change. . . What needs to be done is to have management get their asses out of their offices and out on the sales floor and see what is going on.Management needs to get their hands dirty andunderstand what employees are up against.Training, training and more training along with adequate staffing is the answer.Sitting in front of a screen and watching 120 CBL segments is not training, only hands on training works.Keeping in mind that employees have families and need time off to spend time with family is very important.But because of Walmarts lack of sensitivity and greed things are going to get worse.Sam would rollover in his grave if he could see his company now. I wish somebody would start a store with customer service. We stood in line for fifteen minutes while employees did nothing. I don't work at Walmart so I'm not checking my self out. What a terrible experience. Boycotted Walmart forever going to start again. read more

The bathroom is atrocious when I entered the floor was wet 2 of the 3 urinals were out of order the paper towels were moist and the toilet shook every time one in the woman's bathroom shook. read more

The grocery section of this WMT has really taken a bit of a turn for the worse recently. I used to do most of my everyday grocery shopping at this place when I was in Baraboo and I was very satisfied. Product was of reasonable quality and prices couldn't be beat. If I wanted things like high quality meat or more micro-ish beer, I would def go somewhere else, but I think that is not a knock on WMT's business model. Recently, it seems like product is out of stock a lot, the produce quality has taken a significant turn for the worse, and the pricing is no longer as attractive vs. the competition as it used to be. I don't know if they have explicitly changed their business model or just taken their eye off the ball, but if they want to keep people coming back they have to take a look at how they are running their grocery ops at this location. read more

I mean, it's Walmart so what can you expect? Extremely rude manager took my beer away AFTER I paid for it and told me I can't buy this cause I was "selling to a minor". What? I asked to speak to her boss and immediately told me that he's busy. She eventually gave me the beer back because I already paid for it. Thanks Walmart. read more

Typical Wal-Mart. You encounter your rude folks and the nice people. There's always a long line here and the registers next to the garden area always have a long line of people and it doesn't seem like anyone ever restocks anything around there. I like that they have a Subway in there and an underground parking garage. read more

Pretty crappy when you put out a black friday ad, someone goes there, asks the employees where the items are. They either dont know, or send you somewhere that it should be but you are told the item is sold out...BEFORE the sale even starts. Talked to a manager, and am told I should have came earlier like everyone else. Even though we were there well before 5:00pm, the sale starts at 6:00...apparently they can't tell time. Great customer service...even from the higher ups. So glad I spend tons online with you and only went in to the store because the 2 other things i needed were "sold out online", not happening again. ELECTRONICS Dept: Janet waited on us today IF you can call it that. She knew nothing about the product. Janet actually grabbed the box from my hand twice when we were trying to read it and make certain it was the product we wanted. Even after she read it, she didn't understand what she read. She never smiled n acted as if we were a bother. She could have up-sold us in products in that department. She under-delivered and under-estimated our buying potential. We went else where to purchase other electronics. We will avoid Janet in the future. Walmart, you're better than this. However I wish I had gotten the name of the middle aged female in the cosmetics dept today. She was extremely helpful, friendly and customer service oriented. She went out of her way to assist me. Walmart, she IS customer service. Because of the two, drastically different representatives I encountered today it's difficult to rate Baraboo Walmart. Do to that fact that Janet represents this Walmart and maintains employment we can't give more than 1 star. read more
