It's a Walmart. I've been going to this store for years even though I find all Walmart stores depressing and I get a fascist vibe whenever I feel like I'm being watched by undercover inventory control staff. The uniformed staff seem overworked and underpaid, bur are friendly and helpful--if you can ever find an associate nearby for assistance. I have always wondered how Walmart arranges and categorizes their items, because it seems as though items are never where they ought to be and a typical grocery list takes you on several laps around the store. At night, the entrance farthest away from the grocery section is closed which is extremely inconvenient if you're trying to pick up some toothpaste or a pack of razor blades. There are self-checkout machines, however they are closed down late at night and the only checkout lane open is the one farthest from the entrance and grocery isles. The in-store McDonald's restaurant is poor and the food is rarely fresh or aesthetically pleasing. I would avoid this store unless the absolute lowest price is your bottom line, otherwise, if you don't mind paying an extra $5 for $200 worth of groceries, I would shop at Publix or Winn-Dixie for a much better experience. read more

Whoever (Dan M.)clicked my review on Yelp as being funny YOU ARE A SICK FUCKING ASSHOLE!! I had PTSD for over a day after leaving this store and it was during that day that I wrote the first review for this store and I was being very serious when I wrote that first review! This WASN'T a joke but a very serious issue with how they treat customers at this store!! I ended up calling CORPORATE Walmart multiple times to report this store and the management there. They told me I had to speak with the Store Manager to get anything resolved because they backed up their store managers . Whatever happened to the customer is always right!! They said I was reporting them too much and the only way they would take action against this group of managers is if other customers started calling in as I seemed to be the only one up until that point who had reported these managers. This was probably a lie as well! So, anyway out of this whole epic ordeal, I never received one apology from anyone at the store and not even one from corporate. So, who is there for the customer's who is buying your products!? No, not one apology! But, I wasn't going to give up..no! I was not letting this go! I finally reached Jim Ahern (the store manager) over the phone and stated I would like to have a gift card sent to me! The reason I asked for this card was because I knew the only way these corporations make any change is if you hit them where it counts and that's in their wallet!!! I didn't give a damn about receiving a gift card but I knew if they had to give out money they would make a change at least that is what I was hoping for. Jim stated he would "speak" to his employees..I said that wasn't good enough and that changes needed to be made. I said if you don't remove these people how do I know that I won't get harassed the next time I come in there! He said "you won't know" I said Jim this is not going to help the situation. Since I live less than a block away, I'm NOT driving over 15 minutes to go to another Walmart. Something has to be done about this at your store Jim! **silence and crickets** Ok thank you for the gift card, Jim! ** click** I didn't ever want another person to ever experience what I experienced shopping there! Well, I only live less than a block away from this store. Me calling Jim several more times plus waiting over 2 weeks, I finally received the gift card in the mail. There was a paper wrapped around the card and I thought "yes!!" I will finally receive my apology which will be written on this paper. Nope, I was devastated! I didn't receive an apology from anyone at that store or the management and not even one that could have been easily written on the paper that was wrapped around the gift card if only a little more effort and compassion resided in Jim Ahern (store manager). This leads me to my next question as to why someone that soulless is in this position? The gift card was for only 20 dollars but I didn't give a damn about the money. I wanted to see just a glimmer of humanity and compassion for people at this store!It doesn't exist! That's why I'm keeping the rating at a one star. A couple of things I did notice out of all this is that since my initial review, they do have more cashiers at the registers and they didn't accuse me of stealing at self check out. This use to be a great store with great workers, what the hell happened? The last few years customer service has declined, hello management. 2 examples, I called the deli department and ask if the had an item they told me try bakery, I asked to be transferred, I was told we dont do that and they hung up. I was in the store and 2 days later I wanted a price and 2 workers were chatting by the dressing rooms, I asked if someone could price check an item for me they told me to ask the jewelry associate, who I mentioned was helping a customer. This location provides horrible customer service on delivery orders late and lost are the norm and the management is incompetent and lazy unable to resolve the most simple problems. Avoid them at all cost the "savings are not worth the aggravation. read more

Whoever gave this store 2 stars was being very kind! We have shopped Walmart's all over the country and this was the worst experience ever!! The attitude of the pharmacists and technicians is horrible. I walk in and ask for my prescription and they tell me there isn't any. What??? My doctor called it in a week ago. How can this happen? They ask my name and birthday 3 times. Then say it's on order. This is the worst pharmacy that I've ever been to. I take meds that shouldn't be abruptly stopped but they don't care. Oh boy. Alright, so in the 20-something years I've come to Walmart, one would think I'd know better but alas, here we are. The only saving grace of getting any stars at all is that people who actually try to help are kind. So, here we go. In multiple visits over the past year, I've had the pleasure of waiting for assistance in various departments often for up to an hour before just giving up and leaving the store. This all after being passed by multiple associates who did not offer to get anyone as well as requesting the manager and customer service personnel call an associate over the speaker. While waiting for my fabric, I offered to cut my own if they just wanted to send an employee to stand there and watch to make sure I wasn't going to steal the improper amount. After waiting for assistance upwards of 30 minutes for a fishing license, calling three times for assistance, we were accompanied by 3 other customers also waiting for help. I'm not saying that the people are bad workers, really. But if Walmart is going to have areas that require special, specific employee assistance, it may be expedient to establish a few workers PER SHIFT who would be able to assist. This Wal-Mart was a very bad experience for me and my family. We are from Dallas TX and we came to visit family here in Florida. We wanted to get our girls ear pierce and the lady be hind the counter was on a personal phone call. It took her 10 min to talk to us and when she did so was upset that we made her put her personal call on hold. Then she tells us there ia no one there until Thursday that can pierce ears. If you work in jewelry then you should know how to pierce ears. Also you should not be on the companies phone on a personal phone call. read more

Ads on TV are lies. They say local or USA produce almost every thing is imported. Bad quality on some of their produce. I delivered a time stamped load of tomatoes and they tried to say a load delivered a month earlier was mine and was moldy. Not much difference in store to warehouse. read more

Landed here last Saturday after losing my way. Totally packed, need a bigger parking lot. Seems everyone from Longboat Key and AnnaMaria Island shops here. Traffic jam along Cortez Road did not help. All aisles and cashiers busy so long line. Assume things are more pleasant on weekdays. Directly on flight path to Sarasota-Bradenton Airport so can stop here on the way. read more

A dirty cat will still act like a dirty cat even if it's washed. That what my neighbor would always say. I don't know if that applies but I don't like this Walmart. The store is the usual Walmart dump but with a redneck twist. I went to the electronic section and half of the displays weren't working so I couldn't test anything out. This is the worst Walmart I have ever been to. I went there in the morning when I thought it would be less busy and there was no iceberg lettuce or celery! The clerk acted like she didn't care. There was no order. Half the people went down the wrong way in the parking lot which is very dangerous. If they do this Walmart should at least make the parking perpendicular so customers look for cars coming the wrong way or enforce the direction. The store had big gaps in the merchandise which didn't make sense because they had all night to stock. It was also the grubbiest Walmart I have ever been to. I will never go again. Awful store. Absolutely no one can help you find items. We asked three people where items were in store and all said they didn't know. We needed help with bike purchase and no one showed. Cashier as we left was rude to top of visit. Walmart should hire people and pay them more to add value. Never going back. read more
