I am not a big store girl...I HATE HEB plus, but that being said I LOVE this Walmart location. The greeters/bag exit checkers are super nice and the store is always organized and cleaner then most. Also unlike the one in Kyle this one doesn't smell of Subway...not a great smell at all while shopping. Walmart as a whole needs to put prices back on the clothes...this is irritating as can get and losing some people for they dont want to download an app to scan to find out cost when also sometimes the cost online doesn't match in store cost so that brings me to my next point to yall need to price match...especially if you dont want to have pricing on tags! Love this location but WALMART as a whole can do better for its customers. read more

One place that will always dominate any neighborhood is Walmart. A huge sprawling parking lot with enough space under one roof to get in a mile of walking, if one were so compelled. This brings me to Walmart in Kyle TX. Located in a safe part of town this place will have, most of what you want. As for the food, it has what one has come to expect from Walmart, average products at a low cost however when it comes to fruit and veggies, the supply is somewhat limited and the fruit needs a lot of washing. In fact, I've stopped buying fruit b/c of all the flies that come home with it. Even washing it when I get home doesn't mean the flies are gone as they migrate before I can deal with them. The baked goods are average however please note if you buy the discounted perishable items, they go bad QUICK. I've also found they're limited in toys as I tried to purchase some items for my kids but they only have the absolute most popular items. So, if you want that GI Joe action figure, you won't find it here, or at least anything new. As for electronics, they have most of the newest gaming consoles, games and controllers however 4k media is limited, but that's a standard among all stores now as physical media continues to be replaced by inferior forms of content like streaming. Most items like pet food and accessories are in abundance, hardware and housing goods have most of what someone needs and the kitchen section has a lot of average equipment to great stuff depending on what you need. For example, the knife selection is horrible but mixers are just as good as anywhere else. I do all of my vitamin and specialty medicine (not prescription) from Walmart as it's the cheapest. Overall, Walmart is exactly what you expect anywhere and that's by design. The only real differences are subtle things that regionally might sell better at one place then another state won't offer a product as it won't make sense. Think of a heavy winter coat for sale in Texas - it isn't needed. Finally, Walmart is bringing back the cashier so the wait times may vary. First of all let me say that my wife and I shop at the Buda Wal Mart nearly every week. Yesterday I went to get some spray paint. I pushed the button to notify a store employee and I waited. After almost 10 minutes I called the store operator and asked to send someone to the paint department....and I waited. After about five minutes I called the operator again and asked to speak to a manager, she asked what about and I told her and was put on hold. After about 3 minutes an employee shows up and says that she was way over in cosmetics. This is not the first time this has happened. The automotive department is a joke. I purchased a battery and needed to have it installed. The guy at the counter told me to go out to talk to one of the mechanics and said that they would get me all set up. He said that the guys who work on tires would handle my battery. There was one car having tire service and 4 cars in line for an oil change. So I talked to a guy and he seemed like I was being a nuisance. He told me that it would be a 3 1/2 hour wait. I was shocked. They didn't look busy at all. One of their workers was skateboarding in the parking lot. I told him I would wait. Then I called my daughter and she said would just send her husband to come install my battery. I went inside and the guy who told me it would be a 3 1/2 hour wait was gossiping with the counter guy while eating a candy bar. He was complaining about a homeless guy who hung out near their parking lot. I told them that my son-in-law was going to come do the install. He ignored me and continued to talk about the homeless guy. After he left the counter guy sold me a battery and I went outside to wait. My son in law was coming from Austin. As I waited I noticed that the guy who told me it would be a long wait was just hanging out, talking to another non-working coworker. I went over to him and asked him if he lied to me because he just didn't want to do the battery install. There were literally no cars in the tire area and 2 cars in the oil change area. He told me that he had to go by how many cars were in the oil change isle and that it would be at least an hour an a half wait. I went inside to complain. There was a lady at the counter. She told me that the tire guys were the ones who should do the install and if there were no cars they should do it now. I went back outside. My son-in-law was there. He had to drive in from Austin. I am so frustrated that I was lied to and that I had to inconvenience my son in law because some bearded fat loser didn't want to work. I will never go to Walmart automotive again. This is the first time I have been to this location and the first thing that stood out was the organization. I live in the Southpark area of South Austin, and after today's visit, I'll drive down 35 to come to this location going forward for all of my needs. Not only did the store look great, the employees were easy to talk to and they were assisting others who had questions with no hassle. I live in Buda. So I go to this Walmart pretty much once a week, if not more often depending on what I need and when. I don't always think to write a review for a place I frequent on such a regular basis, but when I saw the low score, I felt I should because honestly, this Walmart has been pretty decent to us over the last couple years. The prices are always good (sometimes better than H-E-B on certain items) and usually almost everything we want is in stock. They have a reasonable variety (produce and gluten-free sections could be more extensive... sometimes I have to hit the H-E-B Plus in Kyle for more specific fruits/veggies). It's always fun to browse the aisles too. Some of the employees are really great and friendly (like the door greeters/receipt checkers) while others aren't awesome... For example, we had a devil of a time getting assistance with the jewelry area the other day; when we paged for help, it seemed like all the employees were playing a game of "nose-goes." Usually if you ask an employee where something is though, they're decent about giving directions to which aisle. The garden section is nice and big and has a good variety of basic stuff needed for doing yard improvements or yard maintenance (tools, mulch, pavers, etc.) along with plenty of outdoor furniture and plants (both edible and pretty). The seasonal area in the middle is sometimes bursting, sometime barren, sometimes a jumble depending on when you come in and what holiday is up next. But if you're lucky you can snag some awesome 50% (or more) discounts there in the scant days after a holiday concludes and they rezone for the next. There's a "quick sale" cart placed toward the back-left of the store (near dairy) with a bunch of pastry items close to their "sell-by" date, and you can pick up something sweet for that evening for much cheaper than original price. The restrooms are always nice and clean (both in the front and back of the store), which is nice. They do a good job of rounding up carts regularly (regardless of weather conditions) so you can grab one easily right before the entrance. Parking lot is well-sized to accommodate even busy weeknights and weekends. The changing rooms are still closed (COVID used to be the reason but now I think they just don't want to bother staffing it), so you can't try anything on before purchasing. We've used their tire center once, which went well because everywhere else in town was all booked up, but Walmart had an opening and got it done same day for an okay price. I've also used the FedEx store inside and it can sometimes be a wait (since there's only ever one poor dude there working), but otherwise fine. And I've utilized the vision center/eye doctor here as well, and it was also decent. Honestly, I like that they have so many services in one place (even if they aren't top-of-the-line, it's convenient and cheaper). Right now it is in a bit of a remodel phase with some of the aisles being relocated, more of the cashier lines being torn out for additional self-checkout stations, and they've removed the big "order online, pick-up in store" tower near the entrance (not sure if it's coming back?). But I'm sure it'll look a lot nicer when they are done with those improvements. read more

If you need an oil change DO NOT take it to Walmart automotive center in Buda, Texas. I took my Audi 4 for there for an a oil change in January 2025. They drained my transmission fluid, and overfilled my engine with oil. Without checking the oil level first, they started it up causing my engine to lock up. It was driven into their shop for oil change and had to be towed on a wrecker to an Audi shop by the time they were done. They want to settle by salvaging my car and not to fix it. They took a firm stand on just totaling my car - no reimbursements for the estimates for repairs, or the three months of car notes or insurance premiums I had to make for a car with a seized engine. Their offer doesn't even cover the balance of what I owe. I'll be stuck owing the bank thousands of dollars for a car that is inoperable (you know this is going to kill my credit score), and not to mention leaving me no funds to invest in purchasing a replacement. I WILL NEVER REFER ANYONE TO TAKE THEIR CAR TO WALMART FOR ANYTHING! The amount of frustration the consumer goes through to challenge this megacorporation is brutal. They lawyer up against consumers to challenge these kinds of cases. The confrontations/yelling matches were epic. Never did I think I would be treated so poorly by a company I have been a faithful consumer of for decades. Who knows, maybe it's their standard marching orders to pay as little as possible to fix the problems they caused to the average consumer. Unless you are in their financial league, you don't stand a chance. I hope this review gets to CEO of this Corporation to see how the small consumer is being treated by their claims department. As big as this world-wide corporation is you would think they would treat their patronage better. read more

The outside is very nice, inside is very clean, and I always find what I'm looking for. Self-checkout lines are also usually very quick. Just a PSA if you go get your oil change, mark your filter to ensure the technician actually changes it. Had an experience today at Walmart in Buda, the technician Issac V changed the oil, but I guess it was too much for him to change the filter too. Wondering what benefit he gets for skipping this.. it truly baffles me, as it was on an Impala, and the filter is incredibly easy to get to. Hopefully Walmart corporate will actually care and get involved and give a refund because now this will require a second trip back to get a job done that should have been done right the first time. Went in to this buda tx walmart and looking for a laptop I talk to sales person in that area helped me very well by looking for laptop in another store so I was told slaughter ln had what I needed , there they didn't have it in stock but read it was so I asked I needed one for windows and desktop work , lady said this one will work I took it and bought it the tag was a mistake they had cause was more than it said , so she said I'll refund your money put your card back in and instantly got my money back ; I take it home and I had no clue a chrome book did not do what I needed it basically just like a big android phone , so by then it's 4:00 traffic I called buda said yes you can bring it here and refund your money if we don't have what you need , I get there and the guy rep guy was allready stand-off ish Im the first 5 min like he really hated that job , he tells me go trade it I said y'all don't have what I'm looking for I'll go to Best Buy he said well your not getting cash if that's what I think , why not and why you say it like that I don't want a gift card I have receipt not gonna make me shop here can I talk to some one else a manger he rolled his eyes said that's not gonna change anything but ok , so instead of calling her on his radio he went and got her , she walks up with no already on her face she said I used a card have to refund your debit card I said ok that's all I ask but they said 5 days before I get money back , I said it should do it instantly she said no machine will do that I said I just did it at slaughter and was instantly she said no you didn't so I showed her m my personal bank account the transaction well we not doing that and instantly refunded my return and handed me piece of paper now I have no choice but to wait so I asked for manger she said nobody is here and I ask another lady and there was a guy who was in charge now he was very nice as he was turned around and the first manger was every one at that store looks like they hate to work there read more

I came in to grab a Pokémon binder for my daughter for Christmas. Got that, cool, great. I also needed to get a few non parishables like dog food, paper towels, canned goods ect... I never buy meat or frozen foods from any Walmart. From the entire time I put the Pokémon binder in my basket, I had security follow me around. If it wasn't security, then it was a perverted old man. This used to be the only Walmart I shopped at. It was always very nice and the staff was always sweet. The last 4-5 times I've shopped there, I've been treated like I'm stealing. Today, I spent $300 that I had to ring up myself. Then, on the way out, the door greeter let the two people in front of me go without stopping. Of course the greeter stopped me and looked over my receipt. I knew this was going to happen, so I scanned the items that wouldn't fit in the bag first. I showed her that most of what she would be looking for was probably at the top. It's so frustrating. I'm a somewhat young looking mom. I feel like because of that, they expect me to steal something. If they can worry so much about what I'm purchasing, then maybe they can help me load the 40 lb bag of dog food that I can barely carry. I finally got a sitter just so I could get out of the house by myself for two hours. I just wanted to grocery/ Christmas shop in peace. It's really nice to park outside of an entrance and then not be able to get back to your car outside of that entrance. Is there some meaning behind "these doors shall not be locked while store is occupied" that I'm not aware of? Also big ups to the 5 foot tall guy checking receipts that I mentioned it to who was really rude. If y'all don't trust people to check out, then hire some cashiers. But don't close and lock doors where people are parked so people can walk the length of the store twice because you didn't want to hire people. Brenda who was the "greeter" at the door on Friday, April 7th, around 6:30pm accused me and my wife of lying about the primo water exchange. We have four 5 gallon bottles, and the way we have done this exchange for months is by dropping off the bottles when we have them, and then getting the water when we need them. The time of the exchange doesn't always match up--meaning we are sometimes leaving empty bottles and not picking up new bottles, but upon a future visit when we need the bottles, we will then pick them up. I explained this to Brenda and she refused to listen and let us leave with our exchanges because she didn't see us drop any off. I explained to her that the ticket system has not worked ever since we started this program a few months ago, and she laughed and said they have never worked since she's worked at this store. Incredibly rude and unprofessional. Will not waste my time at this store again. Additionally, I asked Brenda for her managers name and she said she didn't have one. I then asked for the store manager's name and she said that they just got a new one and she can't remember their name. Now, I'm not going to do what she did to me and accuse her of lying, but it does seem a bit suspicious. read more

1 star because it's Walmart and they carry almost everything so I know everytime I step inside that I will never leave empty handed. 1 star because their restrooms are always clean which is greatly appreciated especially during this time and the fact that I'm pregnant so I have to be extra cautious around public facilities. 1 star for their warm welcoming greeters out front. But thats it, there's definitely a lack of service inside walmart. They also recently changed their refund policy which is extremely frustrating. I received 2 of the same bassinets from family members so we set 1 up and then planned on returning the other to Walmart so we could get other needed baby items. Both bassinets were bought in other cities in Texas but bought from Walmart. The one we were returning no longer had the receipt. At the business center, I asked a woman there if they could pull up the order for a refund with the credit card it was paid with. She told me yes so I go back to car and bring back the bassinet. Then she asks for the card. I told her I don't have the physical card but I have the card number because my family member who lives hours away is the one that bought it but doesn't have the receipt anymore. She says, Oh no we can't manually enter the card information. I said, really you didn't mention that a few minutes ago when I had initially gave her the run down on the purchase. Anyways they can only offer a max of $50 in store credit now when making a return without a receipt. I decided to keep the bassinet and hopefully will return it in a few months when we go visit our family member and go to their local walmart. Most of their fruit is completely covered in either mold or bruises. I picked up several bags of oranges only to put them back because they were full of mold. The peaches had so many bruises and cuts on them and many had mold. I had to throw out there peaches because they were completely bruised inside. The pre packaged pizza dough (the already made kind stored on a regular aisle) was full of mold as well. There were at least 10 packages covered in mold. There's also only ever two lanes open and all of the self check out lanes. It gets busy in there and you're stuck waiting to check out. I watched a cashier waiting to switch with another one rub her nose then play with whatever ended up on her finger and not do anything to clean her hands. read more

lost prevention accused me of stealing. Not my fault there is different barcodes in the item I had scan! She then proceeded to take me into a private room with police officers and pressed charges. How can you accuse someone if I have to do your own job and scan my own items ? I don't get paid for it they literally just stand there in the front gossiping not helping customers. Although I really love shopping here, twice now I have purchased expired foods. First was a box of the thin crisp Triscuits original. When I opened the box, I noticed the taste of the crackers were off. I checked the expiration date and it had expired the previous year. Considering how long a shelf life most boxed products have, this box must have been 2 years old. I threw them away. Today, I bought a box of candy, Toffifay. I was anxious to try them because I'd been seeing their commercial. I popped one in my mouth and instantly noticed it too tasted off. I checked the expiration date and it expired in 2016. It is 2017! Tried the Walmart Grocery pickup today and love it - got the same products as HEB save a couple things we will pick up on our produce run Saturday, but with the wife and I both having medical issues and little time, this was ideal to try. Ordered online, confirmed online, downloaded the app, checked in when we got there, Chaz was out with the cart full of stuff in 2-3 minutes, we were loaded and drove away- so instead of the usual ordeal of driving there, shopping, checking out, loading, unloading - and then putting away $250 in groceries, we took a 15 minute longer drive, and the time there was about 5 minutes and not 1-1/2 hours as usual. I hoPe HEB starts this up as the Dripping HEB is 10 minutes from home and not 25 but we are mostly pleased so far. Keep it up Chaz and Buda WM. read more

I drove to the store to order a birthday cake. The woman was not very friendly in the bakery. She ordered the cake on a iPad so I never got to see what she wrote down. They give you nothing in writing. When I picked up the cake it was the wrong size. The writing on the cake was not even and not well written. She said she has only worked there a month. I think she needs more training. Terrible experience. The inside of the cake was pieced together all wrong. Won't be back. read more

Not that it is a surprise, but Walmart has the worst customer service in the world. I ordered a bike from them three months ago and three of those bikes were broken after assembly. I worked directly with the head of the.com site and he assured me that the next bike would be worth the wait. He also advised he was going to call me after the bike arrived and was assembled. However, this hasn't happened. I have called all week and get the inevitable transfer loop with no one willing to help. I live in Manchaca and this is my Walmart of choice. I find this Walmart on Old San Antonio Rd in Buda, always friendly and organized. The store is always clean and stocked. The Associates are always helpful and friendly. Nobody bothers you while you shop, but assistance is readily available when you need it. This store is very clean. The floors are clean, the shelves and racks are straight and organized, the bathrooms are clean, and the PA music is not annoying. I shop at this Walmart location once a week. During this Pandemic it's the only place I go out to in public, and I feel safe shopping here. Even though Abbot lifted the mask mandate and opened everything 100% capacity, everyone working and shopping here still uses distance and wears their mask. I recommend this Walmart to anyone who needs to shop. LMJ read more

Went into Walmart today totally forgetting about the after Christmas sale but since I was there I thought I would look at some of the gift sets. I picked out some and picked them off the shelves with the 50% clearance signs on them and went to cash out. Well now that Christmas is over hard to find an employee in sight and only 2 lanes open and yes I was there super early. Out of 7 gift sets I bought only 3 rang up on sale when I asked the manager his only response was well they aren't in the Christmas box and I said but they were on the shelf with the sign he said "yea but they aren't on clearance" seriously. Well when I was cashing out I really didn't want to argue with the cashier and tie up the line so I went ahead a paid for it and then could not get a refund because customer service wasn't open till 7.
