Just went to pick up some ingredients today. Totally forgot today was their grand "remodelling" completion day. There was an army of food trucks in the parking lot with crazy lines (esp. for 9am), but it didn't fully dawn on me why until I entered and encountered a massive balloon arch and table of goodie bags. They've been advertising this date for awhile now, and I and many other shoppers have had to endure several months of cramped parking (because a large part of the lot was full of equipment/materials for the remodel), bizarre aisle layouts, and closed restrooms while they were in the midst of this remodel. I will say that the place was crawling with employees (and managers...) who all seemed to be in an effervescent mood; I think they had all hands on deck for staffing today. The employee handing out goodie bags jovially encouraged me to check out the many booths set up in the back of the store. I did and found things like coloring sheets, face painting, and henna, as well as on the grocery throughway lots of free samples from various third party sellers (like Kellogg's, Monster Energy, etc.). I got so many that my goodie bag was stuffed beyond capacity. There were even two costumed mascots to take photos with (Chester Cheetah and Tony the Tiger)! So actually, I'll admit, this little event was kinda fun, even if it was celebrating the excesses of capitalism. XP Apart from today, I've been shopping at this location for about a year, since we moved to the area. I go because it's cheaper than the Cub that's closer, and cuz I can get non-grocery items there while I'm at it (like household cleaning supplies, body care, auto stuff, etc.). So in that way it's convenient and worth the longer drive. But it's your typical Walmart in pretty much every way. It's not gonna be amazing, just OK (thus my rating). It's clean enough, stocked enough. Sometimes it's annoyingly crowded (I never ever use a shopping cart unless I absolutely have to). I tend to utilize self checkout as a matter of personal preference so I can bag my items exactly the way I want. Of course it's annoying that Walmart's point of sale devices STILL don't allow tap to pay. Get with the times, Walmart, everyone else has. I also use the mobile app to hunt down random items when I'm not certain where in the store to look (case in point, today I regrettably needed mouse traps...). My luck with asking employees face-to-face here hasn't been very good, so I've defaulted to kinda fending for myself in this regard. Sort of a shame, but I also know that they're pushing to have shoppers not even enter the store physically at all-- this is quite evident from the sheer number of brand new "pickup" spots in their parking lot post-remodel (nearly an entire double row... which seems insane to me). They'd prefer to basically have a local "warehouse" and cart your order out to you under the guise of "your convenience." (We all know this is actually a way to stem shortages and recoup profits; under late-stage capitalism, nothing is done by a big business without there being something in it for them too.) Haha, okay, soapbox over. This is a Walmart. Go there to buy stuff cuz you're mostly broke and feels like the only way to affordably feed yourself in a country beset by rapid inflation! The store while it has been in transition of moving everything closed off front bathrooms- no sign there anymore and staff direct you to the rear corner of the store, Walmart! Are you for real having customers with handicap and no toilet seat in handicap stall. No toilet paper, no paper towels. Missing toilet paper dispenser covers and YOUR employees gathered in there chit chatting never picking up trash . It was disgusting, an oversight by management and unacceptable!!!!!!!!! read more

Years ago I didn't mind this Walmart. It's a bit smaller in offerings than others but it was more chill. Now, I can't stand this location. The front end really annoys me. We waited in line for 15 minutes with only 3 people in front of us. When the party before us got closer the cashier told him she was closing, after we had been waiting. So we then had to wait even longer in longer lines to check out. It was a mess. Also when asking not to bag chemicals with clothing the cashier had a bit of an attitude about having to separate items after she automatically assumed that was okay. That's just common sense. This store isn't the worse at disorganization but it's a bit messy. read more

THEY DON'T EVEN SELL WALLS. FALSE ADVERTISING. This is in Burnsville, and I came here to get tanning lotion, then went tanning. I put the tanning lotion on my skin and I get the hos again. Oh wait that's Wellmart. But when you fake tan, if the cancer doesn't get you, the Burnsville. It's a pretty decent Walmart, wasn't hard to get into, was a little tricky to get out of. Nothing too special, fairly new and shiny, fairly busy but not awful. They had what I needed, but not to the same degree that Barbie has what I need. Barbie's view on these stores in general: More like Allmart. You can find all you need here. Blanket? Check. Yarn? Check. Windshield wipers? Check. Bananas? Check. Shampoo? Check. Walmart is an evil corporation, but they do have the best prices on most of the stuff you need. It's great that they're adding more vegetarian and plant-based products. I ordered a GoPro 12 from the store. It was delivered the next day. What I received was an open box with an old GoPro 8 in it versus the 12. Why the store would have even sent an open boxed item without checking it is beyond me. The store refunded me the GoPro but has yet to refund me the Walmart protection plan I purchased for it. I have gone in the store and talked to a manager immediately after receiving the item. I have made at least eight calls to their 1-800 number. They keep promising to refund it since I did not get the item I ordered which the protection plan was for, but I have yet to see that refund and it's been over a week. I called today and the representative told me it had not even been requested on their end. I'm very frustrated. I did not get the item I requested and I can't get the refund for it! read more

This Walmart thinks it's a Target store and I'm ok with that. It's unusually clean and well organized for the most part. Employees are almost non existent which is ok if you like to live dangerously and climb on the shelves to reach merchandise that is stacked way up to the ceiling. On that note, this store does have a lot of inventory, so there is always a good selection. My biggest complaint is that it's hard to get to and from there using the freeway. read more

I think it might be a bit obvious to write a bad review on Walmart but personally, I have always had good experiences at Walmarts. This one though really didn't represent any of the positive attributes that I have seen in other stores. It wasn't well-stocked, it was untidy, and not only did no one say hello or ask if I needed anything I felt like I was interrupting if I went to go look for something on the shelf and an employee was nearby. Let's teach our employees to get off their phone while they are on the floor. Acknowledge customers when they ask for help instead of looking at them and walking away just to go to the next isle and stand in a group with four other employees sitting on their phones. Not throw stuff around when asked for help because a customer wants to purchase a movie and it needs to be taken out of the security case. Not roll your eyes at customers Actually SPEAK to customers. Give a bad rating for a Wal-Mart ? Does anybody really expect a great review? But I have personally shopped at multiple Wal-Marts many times and never was has disappointed has I am today. Been to this store many times. The lack of good help was not even the worse of this store today. The lack of management must be the problem. I just had the worst Walmart experience that I've ever had. I stopped at the Walmart in Burnsville to get some cat food as it's on my way home from work. I went through the check out and the cashier (Ty) gave me my receipt which landed on the floor. She lost no time getting back to her cellphone. I looked at her and said "you're welcome". She looked very puzzled as to why I said that. I said don't you say thank you to your customers when your finished with the transaction? Right away she got nasty and mouthy and said " Why should I say thank you? It's your cat food. You should say thank you to me because I rang it up for you. I'm sure she hasn't a clue how stupid she sounded. Then her friend/coworker (Kim) started laughing. I thought I'm not going to put up with this shit so I told them I wanted to see the manager. Kim said "He's not here right now" I don't know who she thought she was talking to. So I ask every employee until I found someone to get the manager. He finally came out and I told him what happened and that I would be sending a letter to corporate the next day. Of course the two Rhodes(kill) scholars could keep their mouths shut and laughing and lying about how nice they were to me. Smart ass Kim asked me if I had a hard day and called me a Karen. I said it won't be so funny when they fire you. She said oh they'll never fire me and started laughing. The manager told Ty to go in the back because she couldn't keep her mouth shut. She said you'll just have to send me home. He had to tell her six times to go in the back. She told him "you're not even my boss" These two shouldn't even have a job dealing with the public. I'm a nurse who's been taking care of covid patients for the last three years and I will not be disrespected by two mouthy, not very bright little girls who they can say anything they want to whom ever they want and still have a job. I had to explain to the cashier (Ty) that she represents Walmart and she said " no I don't. I just work here. Walmart... can't you do better? This has been literally the second time I've shopped here and I live in Burnsville. Like a dummy, I thought accessing it from 35 W and Cliff was the only way. On the way back, I took Cliff to Nicollet much easier. This store is not as busy as Apple Valley and even found staff to ask where things are. I needed plumbers putty to repair a resin dog statue and they even have the Southern Specialty Boiled Peanuts in the can. Wandering around and I was helped to canned vegetable aisle where they were next to canned collard greens. I snagged 8 cans. The selection of puzzles was skimpy due to Covid 19. Cage free eggs were cheap at $3 for 18. The cashier was very nice and wasted many bags putting 3 cans in each and eggs in one bag. They will work well for dog waste. Even though the location is 3 miles farther, I will frequent more often as it's less busy and close parking can be found. Also when I run out of boiled peanuts yum. Add on: boiled peanuts ridiculously salted and brined. Need to add 1 quart of water and boil/simmer about 30 minutes to an hour. read more

Absolutely ridiculous. Needed an employee's assistance to get into a locked cabinet but for some reason no one was able to assist us. I asked 3 different employees, went to customer service multiple times and still ended up with no one helping us out. We waited and wasted 30 minutes and still couldn't purchase the product because zero people came to help. This store needs a new set of staff and probable a new manager who cares. read more

As soon as the Covid restrictions lightened up this store went back to its normal nasty disgusting ways. Self check registers are sticky dirty and cloudy, quality of produce is horrible. Employees on the floor ignore you as if you don't even exist and when you ask them for something they act like they're bothered. Is that just a cultural thing because that's just how Somalians are? Just wondering? They are very jovial and friendly to each other but turn stone face as soon as a customer needs a little assistance. Just fine. While visiting some friends in Burnsville we stopped to grab a couple of items for a music festival we were attending later that day. The location seemed very random (industrial park-ish) but the store appears to be newer. Things were in decent shape, and items seemed to be more or less stocked. I wasn't able to find a couple of items I had put off buying from my local store before heading up to Minnesota, so that was a bit of a bummer. The store felt kind of dim, but that could be due to the stormy day. There are some self checkouts in addition to regular lanes, and there are groceries in addition to the regular big box store items. Not bad, not great, just a Walmart. read more

Horrible customers service at this store. Cashier tried ringing up something additional without noticing it. When the bill was higher amount then I questioned it and yes she rang up Toilet from the guest behind me. This cashier had no people experience and not paying attention to what she was scanning. I tried calling the store and the phone just rang what a poor example no one cares about the customer there. Hasting Walmart is much better and you don't feel scared at this location either. This is the best Walmart in the south Metro. The staff is always cheerful, and the customer service is always willing to help or make sure ur satisfied when leaving their help desk. I used to shop here at least 2x/week. I could go at 1-2am and avoid crowds which is very important for me especially during cold/flu season. Now that there is a pandemic and social distancing is a must, the hours have been shorted so much there is no way to avoid crowds! Not only did this walmart disappoint me once, BUT TWICE. As my daughters and I were in an isle picking out some canned vegetables, one of the walmart workers (I will omit his name) decided to carry this pack of 8-10 cans over my toddler's head and then the cans all dropped within inches of her. Since she was fine, I didn't make a complaint or anything because this was my favorite walmart to go to! Not anymore, I went there one night and just bought some hair dye and tried to go on my way... The rude woman sitting there (will also omit her name) said if I didn't show my receipt to her, she would keep the items that I paid for. That is not legal, I work in security and I know for a fact that unless they have proof on cameras that I have stolen something they can't keep the items that I paid for just because I didn't want to show my receipt. If they believe something was stolen they need to call the police, but even then it isn't legal to hold anyone or anything there. Your walmart sucks, your customer service sucks and I hope someone hits you with a lawsuit one day soon. read more

This is before hearing about the falsely accused shoplifter. I was in the store again today and as per usual the Burnsville store was a disappointment. What's the deal with not having more cashiers at the checkout. There was ONE open today with a line six people deep. Not everyone wants to use the self checkout. Also, I went to look for a new wallet and you have maybe six ladies wallets total. As always the employees are too busy chatting with their coworker friends and are are oblivious to their surroundings. It's always messy and lacking basic items. I love all the other WalMarts in our area. It sucks that the one that is closest is such a dumpy let down. read more

I don't know what all the bitching about this Walmart is about. I've been to many a Walmart. This Walmart is nice. It's a lot cleaner than some of the others. Also, this Walmart has way fewer people than some of the other locations. I went on a Saturday afternoon, and there was hardly anybody in there. Considering it was a Saturday, that says something. I often shop at the Richfield location, and this Walmart is way nicer to shop at than the one in Richfield. I'll never go back to the Richfield location anymore. Screw that place. read more

To whom this may concern: I am a long time customer of Wal-Mart in Bloomington Minnesota. I would like to inform you about my recent experience at your Wal-Mart Burnsville store. I came to return an item I purchase from the store on 9/7/16 @ 9:50 pm. Unfortunately I had lost the receipt and wanted to return a shirt for my child that was not her size. I mistakenly bought a week ago. I tried to return the item and at that time the employee required additional assistance from a manager to return my item in the customer check out line. On many occasions I have came at this time and I returned in that line. As I waited in line, the manager whispered to the employee and the employee said allowed, oh so next time if it is 10:00 pm I can tell the customer that returns are no longer accepted and only accepted at customer service before 10:00. If this were a new policy, it was not posted in the store. The employee proceeded to tell me this item did not belong from this store. I knew for a fact I had purchased it from their store. Not only that, another employee felt compelled to tell me not to do returns after 10:00, as I told them I tried to come a few minutes earlier, he had began to debate with me. I left the store not returning my item and not purchasing my groceries for the week. I was very upset at the treatment from multiple employees and the manager and I have not returned since. I would like to speak to a district manager about this situation because I am not at all happy with my experience. Not to mention another manager had been playing Pokémon Go on his phone in front of customers. I am sure you can all imagine how bad that looks to customers My treatment was unacceptable. read more

The so called "manager" accused me of stealing and about 15minutes later as I was leaving instructed the door person to check my bag before letting me exit. I spoke to the manager and she denied ever accusing me of something I didn't do, nor did she give any instructions to have anyone check my bag. I left without making any purchase, and without having my bag searched. Seems like the manager should get off her high horse, quit with the power trip and instruct employees to actually do a job as the store looked very run down, items scattered in aisles, unwalkable in some places. read more

This is strictly for the photo department. One time I came and the photos I printed were cut off and not right. Now I ordered some pictures and was supposed to have it picked up the next day and when I showed up there was a sign saying no one was available and to go to the electronic department. The electronic department wasn't there either for 5-10 minutes and they said they couldn't help me and they'd find someone that could...they never did. read more

Worst Wal-Mart I have been to in a upscale suburban community.I had a list of 10 items and only found 2. Isles were a mess,racks were a mess no product on shelfs.I could find no one for help and there was 2 people at a actual checkout.Rude customers, a man ran into me with a cart and when I said excuse me to Him he swore at me. Witnessed customers opening and eating candy and putting the bags back on the shelfs. Their was a pie on the floor and clothes on the floor. Does anyone care at this store. This place are advertising prices and then ring up a different price thats illegal false advertise meant. The management is so rude Justin literally accused me of lying about what a price was marked as on the shelf buy showing me a picture he took of where he thought it should be. He was not apologetic at all about the product possibly being misplaced. I tried to talk to Todd the manger thats on my reciept but he was being rude when ai was trying to explain my situation and kelpt cutting me off. Then he hung up on me in the process of me explaining how it isn't fair that they are cheating customers out if there money. Its real sad!! Stay away from this store at all cost!! It's Walmart so you know you can't go in there expecting too much. That being said, I shopped here late at night and felt so much safer than I did at the Bloomington Walmart. Most people are actually there to shop and won't be messing around doing crazy stuff. The cashier I had was friendly. Prices are per Walmart usual. They were low in stock for some items I was looking for, like eyedrops, but I was able to get what I needed. Being low stock does not surprise me as most Walmarts tend to be like this. 4 stars for feeling safe while I shopped at night. read more
