This walmart is OK. I come here wren I'm in the area or if the Walmart close to me doesn't have an item in stock. I'm not fond of the layout and they have a lot of things missing but the site says they have plenty in stock. Employees are often in the way and unapologetic. Parking is always a mess too. read more

This Walmart removed all their large self checkout lanes. They only have the small ones open for just a few items. They typically only have one actual checkout lane open at any time. The entire checkout section moves very slowly. All management needs to do is open few more lanes. You think that would be a simple fix, but the management seems incapable of that. read more

My wife and I went to this store today to get a few things, and it was a bad experience from the beginning. We parked by the "outdoor" entrance, but the doors were locked. If there were a sign on the door, we could have parked closer to the other entrance. Secondly, when we were ready to check out, the only lines open to check out were on the west end of the store, and were all loaded with people checking out, including self checkout lines. We left the order near the checkout area, and left. I mentioned the problem to an associate who was standing, watching the checkout section, but she seemed to really not care. This is the only Walmart in the St Louis region that does not stock Diet Mt Lightning, which is a Walmart product. Very disappointing. If they start stocking it, I'll change my review. It's awesome to walk into a store and find exactly what you want. That happened today. So I've gotten two pair of flip flops this summer from Walmart - and my cat decided to chew each of them. Yes, I said cat, lol. So I went back to O'Fallon Walmart and couldn't find them. Not too surprising, as it's the season for showing off your pedicure, and it's been in the 90s and super humid. Yea, STL heat and humidity. Today, I ended up in Chesterfield and though I don't typically visit this location often, I found not one, but TWO pair of the wide width flip flops my cat has apparently developed an affinity for! At just 10 bucks a pair, I grabbed both. They were the last two on the racks, so I was grateful to find them. This store has a ton of self checkout kiosks, with just two lanes for larger orders. That made it even quicker and easier to get in and out efficiently. PS I'm going to keep these at the top of my closet so my sneaky feline doesn't eat them. :) read more

This was my second trip to the auto center for an oil change with an appointment. The first time no employees showed up for work at 8:30 in the morning. You can't get back out to your car because the door locks behind you and you have to go out the front and walk all the way around the store. Today's visit with an appointment we were completely ignored for 20 minutes. Called customer service desk no help. What a joke this place is. read more

This place sucks. This Walmart is big enough to have its own ZIP Code and they have one line checkout line open. I pay taxes to provide government support to a significant portion of their employees, they could hire a few more and open a couple checkout lines. Terrible yet terribly convenient Chesterfield Valley location. Currently being renovated but still totally open for business daily. Typical Wally Mart stock of items from household to automotive, lawn & garden, groceries, pharmacy, apparel and of course electronics. There is a deli and hot food counter for your convenience. Plenty of checkout lanes that rarely have cashiers operating them which create longer than necessary wait times for completing purchases. I went there this evening at 7:15 PM to return an item before leaving town tomorrow morning. Customer service was dark, so I asked an employee walking toward me how I could make the return. With "deer in headlights" look on his face, he said the store closed at 7:00 PM. The advertised closing time is 11:00 PM. 10 years ago this was a nice WalMart. I haven't been in for a couple of years since I don't work in the valley any longer, so last weeks visit was a shock. I entered at the lawn care end of the store and there were zero shopping carts. I had to walk down to the next entrance to get one and it was only about 7 PM on a weekday night. I was trying to find a gel eye mask and was clearly having trouble locating it and walked around the store looking confused, passing several Walmart associates, and not one of them asked if they could help me. In the past the associates were always very attentive and helpful. I finally asked the pharmacist who directed me to the correct aisle. I went back to the lawn care checkout lane and there was no one there, so I walked back to the main checkout area and there was only ONE cashier open in the entire store. One! There were several people in line with large amounts of groceries. There were many self checkout lanes open as well, but I don't work at Walmart and I refuse to use them. I waited in line, checked out and went back down to the lawn care area where my car was parked. The doors were locked. It was now about 7:30 pm, why the heck were the doors to the entrance locked?! I can only guess that they were locked because it was unattended and with the rash of shoplifting and theft in Chesterfield Valley recently, they were forced to take drastic measures. It makes me sad that things have changed so much at that Walmart and I wish the Chesterfield police luck in keeping the bad elements out of the valley. Some recent arrests are encouraging. I also wish Walmart would employ more people and improve customer service, but I also know it's partially not their fault because so many people order online these days that they are ruining the brick and mortar businesses. Both Bath and Bodyworks and Dress Barn in the same strip mall have closed due to that sad fact. The store was clean and well stocked and the prices are still good though. read more

Store is very poorly ran. Came in for 2 very specific items that I purchase from Walmart regularly, both were out of stock on the shelf. I asked the associate at the door for help, and she was very nice. She said that she will look online to see if it should be in stock and it was. She said that she cannot leave her post, which I totally understand because she was watching the exit, but I should ask customer service or a manager to help out. George- the customer service manager- told me that all inventory is out on the floor and had not interest in looking. I asked him, so there is nothing in that back at all, and he said yes. I told him that I find that very hard to believe. I proceeded to check out with the other $100+ worth of merchandise that was unplanned and wrote this review while in line. This location has become terrible. It's almost impossible to find an employee in the store, except for the two women who were standing, gabbing to each other at the entrance to the new, non-improved cash register area, which has no employees working at cash registers. The Walmart Corporate website says that the newly designed checkout places are to be what the customer wants them to be. If the customer wants to do it himself, the customer can scan the items him/herself, but if the customer wants help from an employee to check and bag all of the groceries that they've bought, the employee will help them. However, at the Chesterfield location this is not the case, as the two women standing there gabbing to each other told me that I had to scan and bag all of the items myself. I left the cart full of groceries there not far from them and won't be returning to that location - or any Walmart soon. Decent customer service is important to me and I can pay for it!! read more

I absolutely despise Walmart. The layout doesn't make sense, the employees are unhappy and the merchandise is all made in china cheap stuff. I rarely go so today I needed groceries and used the app for pickup. My rating is based on that. Very convenient and everything was accounted for. My complaint is the amount of plastic waste I've accumulated now. 11 bags total of which 5 had one item in it. You cannot bag a red onion and a white onion together? One bag for a 4 oz can of green chilies? Jesus!!! I usually shop with reusable bags and feel ashamed to have these plastic bags in my possession. If I do this again I will request paper or perhaps Wally World can come up with a solution to care for our planet. But they are full of corporate greed and probably will never be socially responsible. 3 stars for the pick up. 0 stars because Walmart sucks. read more

This is one of my favorite Walmart locations because the store is usually put together and neat. The food or household items I am looking for are usually in stock. This particular location I notice they stock Driscol Strawberries whereas the other loactions do not carry them and their quality is better than other locations for strawberries. The associates are helpful and you can't beat the prices on the Lactaid Milk $3.78 and my large boxes of cereal I only pay $3 for (Waffle Crisp & Special K). Also I've noticed that only Walmart carries Eckrich Polish Sausage in the bacon-cheddar flavor and at $2.50 a pop, you gotta love it!!!! read more

I'd like to say this place is normal but it's not. Inventory can be pretty close to low, service is not the best, dirty, and the layout is pretty weird. Why put a clothing section right in the middle of the store that has an area of five McDonald's buildings. Usually crumbs everywhere for some reason and random stuff on the floor. Yeah. Gotta say I agree here. Nothing but horrible weird experiences here. Wal-mart may be cursed people. I stopped in to find a snowsuit for my daughter deep deep into winter season. They were the only place that had it. So one star. The rest of the stars were lost when I went to do some grocery shopping and the frozen section smelled like... well I'll be civil and say rotten gut stench. That's being civil. From there I tried to check out at the self checkout. But that was closed. Several areas were cordoned off with what looked like police tape they would line the area of a murder scene with. Not inviting. None of the customers were amused by this. Seeing there were only a few lanes open only seemed to infuriate them more. There was a new guy working. Waited in line for about 18 minutes behind only 2 people. This is not why i'm leaving a review. I totally understand the pains of training new people. My issue is I needed cash back from a debit card, and specifically a 10, a 5, and five 1's. I asked him if he could do that and he said yes. Then he realized his drawer didnt have correct change and he'd have to go get it. I said OK. He then pointed across to the customer service desk and said they could do it too. I said ok, not wanting the people to wait behind me even longer. I went to the customer service desk and the guy said pretty sternly he COULD NOT change my $20, it was against policy. I told him the new guy said i could, and I would have waited for him to get change if I knew this would happen. I'm a paying customer man, not a random person off the street. YOUR GUY made a mistake, I get it, and you cant rectify CHANGE for a 20? I mean cmon bro, i'm not returning used underwear, i'm not making a scene, i'm not asking for something for free. I spent $300 and was supposed to get change of a 20, and you cant bend the rule to somehow get me change of a 20 for what the employee messed up? BTW NONE of this is on the new guy - this is all on the customer service rep. Kinda mind blowing that this is not something the customer service guy would do. I hate Walmart. I hate that I have to go here sometimes to get something I need that is not available elsewhere in the Valley. I especially hate their pharmacy and actually filed a complaint to the board of pharmacy about one of the pharmacists that lied to me and as a result caused my daughter to go unmedicated for almost a month! I can't tell the pharmacy story because I have too much to do today to let myself get that angry, so I will share the story of what happened this morning: I stopped in this morning to pick up some donuts for the guys who are remodeling our house. (WHY OH WHY is there not a donut shop in the Valley?!?!) PIcked up 13 donuts -12 in the box, 1 in my stomach. Also two packages of Fudge sticks and three frozen meals since I am working at home during the remodeling. $5 for 13 donuts, $5 for two packs of cookies, $3 or $4 bucks apiece for my Amy's frozen meals. Around $20 bucks worth of stuff. Well, I got into the fast line (misnomer) and waited my turn. I made the same joke above about the donuts and the checker showed no expression at all. She just scanned my stuff and didn't really look up. Here's the rest of the converstaion: Her: "Your total is $75.81." (said with a completely straight face and no expression) Me: "Umm...no." Her: (Quizzical expression, like she doesn't even know what to say to a crazy person who refuses to pay) "What's wrong?" Me: " That is way too much for a dozen donuts and a few other things. My total should be somewhere around 15 or 20 bucks." Her: (Fumbled around with the register while the people in the growing line behind me shuffled their feet impatiently) " That will be $21.52." Me: "That sounds much more reasonable." Her: "Sorry" (Shoves all of my stuff into one bag and puts my donuts in the child seat area of the cart so they are tilted sideways) I get it that part of how they can afford to offer low prices is that they hire a bunch of low wage part time employees who don't give a shit, but damn! read more

I've been here so very many times. I don't usually buy a lot at a time . . . but every time I've been here, the associates are helpful. The prices are good . . . and I'm just buying food, not clothing or ammo. One nice item I've noticed is that they carry Greek yogurt. I usually mix half Greek yogurt and half plain yogurt with frozen fruit (cherries or blueberries) for a wonderful evening sweet snack. read more

I wouldn't recommend using the online order for in store pickup. It's faster to pick it up in the store and checkout.

I gave three stars because they are the cheapest on groceries. However, finding certain items may be tricky. Sometimes I find what I want, sometimes I don't. The selections are laughable , like two bottles of mustard? Some shelves look so bare in this huge store! I've shopped smaller Walmart stores with much more merchandise available. And the check out is laughable. There are never enough open , I try to check myself out so I won't get chicken and cookies in the same bag or all my canned goods in one bag making it necessary to re bag as I put my groceries in my car ! I could go on and on. But why bother. Walmart stinks ! read more

This store is very poorly managed. Products not restocked, employees don't seem to care about the customers, lots is excuses with no results. The Customer Services area is closed with no promise of when it will be reopened. One employee says they are closed for lunch breaks and another says they have people off sick with no one else trained to do that job. What an awful way to run a business. read more

Stopped in to this Walmart this afternoon. It is not my regular Walmart; just stopped in as I was in the area. I was in search of Christmas candy, and while Christmas is only five days away, I expected more in the way of a selection. I would have asked an associate, but Walmart associates, as a whole (unfortunately) aren't exactly all that knowledgeable. I've been in this store a few times in the past, and I don't remember it being as dimly-lit as it was today...not an environment I would expect in Chesterfield.
