This location is not it. The inventory is minimal and it rarely shows up to compare with the others in the area. The best one remains to be the one in Ballwin on Manchester. The baby section is 2 aisles (boy/girl). The dressing room is never open. The women's sizes are always petite or small and limited variety. I try to always find nice deals on pillows or sheets but I don't find much for a queen! The service representatives are always nice but sad when I ask if they have any great deals or if they have a good shipment coming in. I would only recommend a young man or petite person coming to shop here for clothes. The building is extremely accessible and very well lit. The back fitting room were closed. The 2 front temp fitting room had one marked closed. Therefore, the store literally had one dressing room. I asked & that was it. I left my entire cart & walked out. Seems to be a Ross trend. I travel to numerous states & dressing rooms are closed. No one wants to buy clothes they haven't tried on. Honestly, I think this has been the cleanest Ross I have seen in my life. From what I could see, there wasn't a piece of clothes or shoes on the floor. The older man at the register didn't talk to me much, which I appreciated since I was eager to check out. Usually, they talk too much. This Ross had a good amount of designer and athletic clothes. Empty, like most all Ross stores across the country. Recently, people blame the pandemic for the supply chain issues but they have all looked like a going out of business fire sale for almost a decade. Imagine the sales revenue they could generate if they actually filled the stores up. Last night I left two paid for items in my cart. I called a clerk and she set kindly set aside for me to pick up today . I went In This afternoon and was directed to the manager who Insisted an item was. It o the receipt and the inky way o could have it was to buy it . I I told her she was wrong and she walked away from The counter . I stayed there studying the decider until I could show her it was there .. she literally shoved the article at me , angry that I had stood there to insist it was there all along and call her out . She then shoved it out to me . I decided then on the slot to return the items because of that poor behavior and she made a public display of anger for having to do that . I don't shop Marshall's. I don't shop TJ Maxx. In fact, I don't shop much at all. So, I have no comparatives and didn't find anything particularly offensive about this place -- except one thing that was exceptionally irksome. The women's clothing section and children's clothing section were much larger than the men's. Perhaps typical. The clothes were organized nicely: long pants, capris, jeans, tops, swimwear, blouses, dresses, skirts, suits. And there was a sizable plus-size section. There are housewares, towels and sheets; dishes, glasses, vases, serving bowls and platters; frying pans, pots and stove-top griddles; spices, teas and coffees; candies and snacks; games, dolls and other children's toys; shoes; purses; bath and body lotions and stuff; "as seen on TV" gadgets; and a jewelry case in front sporting various watches, earrings and necklaces. I have no idea why they were deemed valuable enough to put in a jewelry case and requiring assistance. What was really annoying (I didn't buy anything, but my college chum did.) at checkout, the clerk continued chatting with the other clerk nearly the whole time she was checking out my college chum -- except, of course, to stop and take her money. Everything my college chum bought was breakable, and she had to ask the clerk to wrap them in tissue paper so they wouldn't break in transit. Where's the common sense? Where's the courtesy? Just weird! I have shopped Ross when I lived in Orange County California and always use to come out with some great finds. I enjoyed the dig. I was surprised to see one open when riding by so of course I had to go check it out. I found this Ross to be laid out extremely weird. It is like a church garage sale. The store has no personality, no visual displays, it is stark white with racks of random housewares. It had a very temporary feeling...hard to put into words. What is up with that loss prevention guard holding fort when you walk in, I mean it is Ross and that means discount prices...made me feel creepy, and I was preoccupied with watching the people that were shopping this place to see why a security guard was necessary to make his presence known in Chesterfield. I kept hearing rave reviews about this new establishment in STL so while in the Valley one day I decided to check it out. My first thought - did I walk into TJ Maxx or Marshalls? If not its a dead ringer for those two stores. The items were laid out very sparingly and there wasn't a lot to choose from. The temperature in store was freezing, which didn't help with the outside temps. If you're going to look for something random, you might find it here if you're lucky but otherwise there really isn't much organization. i purchased a shirt on Saturday night without trying it on. I took it back on Sunday afternoon - the manufacturer tag was still on it and i had my receipt. The manager who is unbelievable rude told me it wasn't their merchandise and acted if though i stole it or was trying to return an item that wasn't theirs. I'm familiar with Ross from living in other areas. This store has been open for a little over a month but it's still clean, relatively well organized and well stocked! If you need a dress, don't mind doing a little digging, and don't want to spend too much money - give this place a try! Think of it as a TJ Maxx or Marshall's with several large racks of dresses on top of all the other stuff they sell. The plus size selection was one of the more robust I've seen around for this type of store, so I was a happy camper. I hope they keep it stocked! I was excited to find a few lightweight shrugs to wear over a sundress for $10.. almost the identical shrug was down the street at a certain other retailer for $49.95. Glad I saved my money. They have what they call her a manager, her name is Suzan, she has a very bad attitude with the customers, not helpful at all, I really have no idea how they call her a manager? Okay so I wrote a review for the Sunset Hills store first. Mainly because I could not find this one but then I realized it was listed differently. I love Ross and started shopping here in Las Vegas so was really excited when I heard they would be moving here. I spent a good hour and a half in line here at the Grand opening. I love the store overall. It is clean and large and the staff was friendly. My complaint is that this particular store does not seem to have as much of a selection as the Sunset Hills store. Things tend to look more picked over. Anytime you shop at Ross you have to be willing to dig just like TJ Maxx and Marshalls but you can find bargains. I know Ross Stores buy for the area they are in but I do not think they have gotten to the point where they know this area well yet. I am hoping that with time the selection will improve. I just hope that it goes uphill rather than downhill because I have been a Ross fan for a long time! read more

My daughter and I were at the one in Chesterfield yesterday (3/9/19) We both shopped for over an hour, and each had several items to check out. She was at the front of the roped line and they had one female black checker... then the line started to get bad and I saw her call for help up front. A man, came to the registers and was obviously mad. My daughter was next in line, and he called her up. Then as she was putting clothes on the counter he YELLS to the line that we should take clothes off hanger and was not nice! We all said we didnt know because the thing to put hangers on was behind us, not up at front of line...we did not see it so I proceeded to take of hangers and have to cut back through line to put them up...when i got to my cart i heard my daughter tell him she didnt see that and maybe they could move to front of line ..then I hear him angry...He said I'm not going to argue with you, she said I'm not arguing just telling you why i didn't remove my items from hangers..then I hear him being rude to her and had a very angry look. Then I hear her saying who is the mgr here and he said he was! She said who is your manager then because you are so rude! she said I'm never coming back to this store! He said GOOD! OMG i could not believe it. The black girl who was checking me out apologized to me when i told her that was my daughter! she was apalled to but appearantly this was her boss.. She looked embarrased.... she said oh my that was your dauther! I said well I'm going to say something to him on way out...I went by him on way out and said he was very rude and I heard the whole thing, he said she was rude...I said I heard it and he was angry from time he yelled at everyone in line! I told him my daughter just donated a kidney and does not deserve to be treated like that! and nobody talks to my daughter like that! He said I'm not arguing with you and wouldnt even look at me...No apology no empathy, nothing... I have never experience d a manager like that EVER...My daughter did retail for years and was shocked! this was my birthday celebration, she nor I was rude. Somebody needs to know about this man and I'm trying to find corporate number to get name for mgr on duty yesterday. It was about 4 pm. I have my receipt (I spent $70 and my daughter spent alot there too....What would be wrong with a person to be that rude? because he was called to check out people?
