I'm writing this review as someone who lives in Crescent City and has to visit this Walmart on Occasion. While not all the staff are bad people, others are outright rude, snappy and mean to customers. There is a short-haired lady in particular who acts like a police dog to people, and a blonde haired know-it-all guy who manages the Tech department in the back. He actually tried to help Walmart break California law by refusing to sell USB drives for the price that they were listed under, and acted like walmarts "policy" was superior to Californian law. A substantial number of the staff members here will treat you with suspicion and try to make you feel like a criminal, even when you have done absolutely nothing wrong, even if it is the Walmart that is doing something wrong. As far as the staff that aren't out-right mean to customers, they always seem tired and frankly, pretty damn miserable. I try to make their day by asking about their day, talk about anything not having to do with Walmart, showing concern for their well-being and complimenting them for their service. It's the least I could do to try to cheer up these poor people who have to work in this Walmart. I strongly recommend going to the Grocery Outlet, Wild Rivers, Safeway, or the Dollar Tree and see what they have before even stepping a foot into this Walmart. This Walmart I treat as a last-resort to shop at, only for the things that I need that the other stores don't have. Please Note: Of the very few four and five star reviews (of which there were a grand total of [5] as of the publishing of this review) that are present on this page, they are entirely from people who only visit this Walmart on occasion during a trip, not something they have to frequent for their house supplies, etc. In fact, those reviewers almost always point to the "convenience" of a big super-center Walmart in small town Crescent City. However, they do not have to go to this Walmart as frequently as a person who lives in the town or the county. Nor do they understand how devastating it is to a lot of smaller stores, ones that I used to visit but have since gone out of business. These non-resident reviewers either haven't or don't frequently experienced the always horrid customer service, being treated like a criminal despite being a paying customer, spoken to the noticeably worn out and unhappy staff-members that work there, put up with outright mean and rude staff members, dealt with their absolutely horrid "policies" which also happen to be in conflict with California law, and have to scramble among their very lackluster stock in numerous departments compared to other Walmarts (as other reviewers have point out) read more

Almost impossible to park if you are handicapped. Why? Because their employees get to park front and center for 8+ hours depriving those of us who actually SPEND money at the store an opportunity to do so in comfort. Must be some incredibly handicapped people who work here. Hey, I certainly don't put down the Walmart company for hiring the handicapped, but they need to provide them parking that does not interfere with normal business. read more

Shopping here regularly for a few years.. Lately, merchandises are spread out so much so and walk-ways become so tight. Staff should have all the right manner and attitude while at work. They should not talk out loud and discuss private personal stuff. I work at a large company and every six month or so, they hire and fire employees and only keep the top performers which is a good thing indeed. read more

Worst Walmart I've ever been to and that says a lot because I'm from Stockton ca!! Awful customer service. Never have cashiers who want to do their job!!! Nobody will unlock cases for you except electronics!!! Awful security guard who harassed my Iraq veteran dad and me an obviously pregnant women all because of our SERVICE DOG!! The supervisors gets the employee hooked on drugs meth/herion the main security guard sells drugs in the parking lot and they only give promotions to those who sleep with the bosses this is the crescent city wall mart so it's no surprise don't know how they are open the having people walking out with full carts all days sure its some of the employees friends doing this read more

Jesus the Manager isn't qualified for his job. It's the worst treatment I've ever received. He has zero thought process. Perhaps reassign him to the changing room or janitor. If I had the power he would have been fired years ago. read more

Their shoe selection is sparce. And the electronics department has gotten smaller. Maybe they thought they were getting too big for this small town area and thought they better tone it down. Not a good choice. read more

they have gone up a great deal on their prices. I do like the new design and cleanliness of the store. Where I live, the bananas are always green,They never turned yellow. Other than that they're pretty good read more
