I literally live down the street from Walmart I could walk there if I wanted to but I don't. This Walmart it's all right for the small little town. I see that there are a lot of high school kids there too and that's a good thing. I got a cake there one time had them write happy birthday on the cake it was horrible it look like a six-year-old wrote on it I complained about it at the register and they gave me 10% off the cake was still good but if you're looking for professional writing on your cake this place is not the place. As others have said, "It's a Walmart." However, I can't say that anyone has really "begged for change" like r.r. posted (and I've lived in the neighborhood for a few years and come here on a regular basis). Additionally, Christopher F. is right on the money in saying that the parking lot is usually full of carts during the evening/nights. Lastly, do not come here at night! I've made the mistake of coming for an energy drink around midnight only to find lines and lines of people with only two registers going. This has happened a few times before I realized that it was an everyday occurrence (especially on the weekends). All-in-all: This is a Walmart. The staff are in no hurry nor do they care about your needs. Additionally, if you ever buy something online, God have mercy on you while you wait for someone to help you. We went through this twice before we stopped having anything shipped to the store for pick-up. Lastly, the clerks smoke outside near the cart area. The smell is atrocious and hearing the employees complain about their jobs and the management is inappropriate. If I can, I head to the Fry's down the road to shop. read more

It's a Walmart. It's a moderate location, not a high-end location but it's generally neat and organized. The evenings/nights tend to show lots of carts in the parking lot so be careful when parking your car. My biggest complaint is that the registers on the general merchandise side of the store are NEVER open which forces everyone to a few registers on the grocery side of the store. The problem with this is always a long wait time. Grocery carts are generally full of many items that take longer to ring (especially if the customer is ad-matching), whereas general merchandise carts have fewer items that can be rung faster. This is the only Walmart I've shopped that doesn't have registers open on both sides of the store to help separate the type of carts/customers. I need to give credit to the store manager. Several months ago, I sent an email to her regarding my experience with a group asking for money at the doors. This was a community group that likely had approval to be there but this one in particular had many people crowding the entry way and actively blocked my way twice while I had my son on one arm, bags on the other, and my daughter by my side. I've not seen groups blocking the entry ways again after that. read more

I'm only giving this store 1 star because of the amount of times I've been in there that have been somewhat pleasant. I live .4 miles from this location HOWEVER, after todays bottom of the barrel customer service, I will not be returning. I went to the photo center to pick up prints and I waited for about 5 minutes, with not a single employee checking that area, just in case there might be someone back there needing assistance. I got sick of waiting so, I found my order and took it to the electronics counter to be rung up. I was greeted by NOTHING. I told the cashier I had to find my own order because no one was back there. Did he say "I apologize" or any other appropriate empty sentiment? No, he said NOTHING. Now, normally I don't complain but, this time I was fed up. I told the CSM and come out, this little entitled millennial will be a manager soon! Well, all I say about being a manager at a Wal-Mart is that it's only one step above being a cashier at a 99 Cent Only store. The sad thing is, I still said "thank you" to him after the transaction. I've been looking for an item all over town and drove to this Walmart which is about an hour away from where I live. I asked two employees for help with the item I was looking for and one straight walked away and the other just said "if it's not on the floor we don't have it " even tho the app says In stock. Anyways eventually I asked the 3rd employee and he went above and beyond walking with me for about 45 mins looking for my item and eventually found it hidden in the back. Thank you Gary ! When they built this Walmart, they put in the El Mirage mailout it was the biggest Walmart in the State of Arizona! I don't see it. Whenever I shop here, regardless of the time of day or night, the wait time in the checkout lines is ridiculous! I see it as a problem when I spend more time standing in line than I do shopping. The tax in El Mirage is ridiculous. Your better off going to the Surprise Walmart to make big purchases. The one good thing I can say about this Walmart is the greeters are all very friendly. read more

This Walmart I notice was not up to cleaning. I found multiple area's with garbage in baskets and pallets in the publics way. One isle I saw four Walmart employees just standing around. I ate at the McDonald's I was served old burned hamburger buns with cold fries. This store was not safe today. read more

Had the worst experience today 3 lanes open the lines are down the isle no one was helpful the cashier in lane 11 was extremely slow I didn't move my lane for at least 20 mins. This is the worst walmart out of the bunch! and that's saying alot. It took me 35 minutes to get assistance trying to print out some photos! The first employee I asked for assistance told me he's off in 4 minutes and he still needed to count his drawer so he couldn't help me...Really! I wanted to scream. I finally got some assistance when I picked up the paging phone and across the intercome told the store I was a customer in photo that needs help. I have been in this store on several occasions and I am always disappointed with the lack of customer service and the overall "get it yourself, I am too busy to help" attitudes of the employees. Pulled out of my parking spot and didn't realize I had started down a one-way isle. Security guy stopped right in front of me. I motioned that I could move to the right to go around as I was pretty blocked in and hadn't realized my mistake. He folded his arms and glared at me. Tried again to show him I could get around. HE FLIPPED ME OFF and started yelling, waving his arms and stayed put. I had to make a dangerous turn around just to get back out. I took a pic of his crazy actions and called walmart right away. He then decided to take pics of me and continued to yell and make obscene gestures. I live a half a block from this walmart and all my prescriptions are at the pharmacy. I am now afraid to go back. Regarding Walmart Pick Up: they only gave me some of the items I ordered. The last items were shown as picked up even though they were not. No attempt by Walmart to rectify. Walmart has my money and the goods I ordered but could not pick up. Do not use Walmart Pick Up. read more

I don't go to this Walmart a lot but it will be the last time I go. Went to get a couple of things one of them was organic whole milk for my daughter. I can't say I hate the turn style bag check out lanes they have. Well we got home and was missing the milk. Check the receipt and sure enough I was charged for one. My wife call say on hold for 10 minutes talked to customer service they said yeah no problem just come back. So after my sons football practice we head back to deal with customer service. This lady looked in a book and said nope no one returned a milk. Who in there right mind would take a Milk that is not theirs and go back to customer service. So then she goes lets go talk to your cashier. Well the lady was gone for the night. Then the rep said I will have to call someone I just told her never mind 30 minutes of fighting over 5$ of milk is not with my time. read more

My grandma went in wanting to buy fabric and waited over 40 minutes while some lazy ass employees from other departments tried to page whoever the hell was supposed to be in fabrics. I went to Dr. Czyz at the El Mirage Walmart Vision Center for contact lenses. After waiting two hours because he was late, he conducted the exam then refused to give me the prescription. He insisted on a specfic brand of contacts (must have a vested interest) but didn't have any at the time. Told to come back after a couple of days, did and still did not have contacts. I tried to just get the prescription so I could get it filled and he still refused. Tried for a solid week and got no results. No contacts and no prescrition. He finally told me to go elsewhere and promised to refund my money. I did (got the prescription and the contacts that day from another optometrist) and then he refused to refund the money. I feel that I have been treated poorly and that they have been dishonest in not refunding my money. I would avoid him. His wife is also an optometrist and his partner. They both participated in this "theft" of my money and time. I would run as fast as you can from them. I was also disappointed in the way the Walmart management handled the situation. They hid behind the fiction that the Vision Center is different than Walmart. You may also want to avoid this Vision Center particularly "Pat". She is a walking nightmare. She thinks that customer service is not spitting on people. If she doesn't do that, you have been properly treated in her eyes. HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE read more

Tried to go cash my payroll check yesterday, only to be questioned about a suffix on my name that the check did not include but which I provided extra proof for. I've never had a problem with this before and another location was able to cash the check. The two women acted like they were some all star detectives and their smug faces encouraged me to write a review. What a petty thing to focus on. This location is full of sub par individuals who lack general common sense and just continues the stereotype that Wal-Mart employs nothing but morons who couldn't manage a bowl of jello. read more

We travel a lot and are wintering here for several months . This is the worst wal mart we have been in from carts all over the parking lot.shelves needing stocking and loooong lines at cashier stand. Ordered groceries online to be delivered with door dash. Only six items were correct. All the other groceries were from someone else's order. I told the delivery person three times this isn't my order. He just shrugged his shoulders and stared at me, told me to call walmart. I call door dash and they say they'll send another driver out to pick up and return to walmart, but no one ever comes. I call walmart, and they will not refund my money or send the correct order out until I return the wrong one. Door dash will not refund the delivery fee. I've had many good delivery and pick up experiences, but this was a huge hassle. read more

This location is by far I've of the worst out here by surprise. I have been there on multiple occasions and needed assistance and NO employees were to be found. Once, I called customer service from inside the store explaining I had been waiting for help and no one came. Last time the product I needed was locked up. No one around, so I press the help button. No one comes. Press it again, still no one. I continue pressing it until even the lady on the loud speaker was getting frustrated no one was around. Even a nice lady cleaning was looking for someone to help. Finally 15 mins later I get 2 employees. Then I made them wait for my husband to get back so he could get what he needed. I use reuseable grocery bags to avoid the wasteful plastic ones. This is the only Walmart that checks my receipt. I was told today that its policy to check all receipts for open reuseable bags. I used the self checkout but had to use 2 different registers because the first one broke down while I tried to scan my 6 items. The self checkout is next to the exit doors. You could easily see me exiting this area after paying. Apparently because of my open top reuseable bag and one item not bagged, I was subject to doubt of payment. Other people went through the exit without being checked with unbagged items. Plastic grocery bags are also open at the top, but they apparently want you to use those instead. And, if they didnt like the one unbagged item, then supply a bag big enough for a 15 pound sack of catfood. I can go to this store and return home in 20 minutes. To go to the Surprise store on Bell takes me 40 minutes but I am never stopped and the staff are nicer. I will never use the El Mirage store again. read more

This store is pretty decent. Parking is crap unless you're handicapped. Not to sound insensitive, but half these overweight people NEED the extra feet of walking. Rarely do I see elderly using those spaces. I've been asking them to restock a certain pet item for over 2 months now. Nothing. They have the same empty box just sitting there collecting dust. Customers are typical Wal-Mart customers. Rude, isle blocking big heads that smell. You would think that being in this part of the city, there would be higher standards. No. Check out lanes? OMG! They are typical Wal-Mart 5 lane maximum. Self check outs don't exist here and apparently if you pretend to not understand English, you can get away with 100 items in the 20 or less lane. Bathrooms, again, typical. They smell but aren't particularly dirty. The pharmacy? Nooooooo. They never have what I need in stock so I use CVS on Greenway. All in all, it's a typical Wal-Mart experience. Better than most which is why I gave them 2 stars. ** read more

I just got back from the Walmart on w thunderbird, and frankly I hope it is one of the ones they decide to close. The employee in electronics couldn't even bother to look up from his cell phone to mutter under his breathe that he didn't know. If this was the only such experience I had there, then I certainly wouldn't complain, but it wasn't. Two weeks ago I asked an employee if they carried a movie, and got the same response (although she wasn't on a cell phone) and said I would just have to look. Both times I left and went to the Walmart off of Grand, and received much better service. When I inquired about the movie at the Grand store, they didn't know either, but looked it up for me (which only took them a few seconds). I realize you get what you pay for and Walmart pays them next to nothing, but get off your phone when someone is talking to you, that's just rude. read more

So I go shopping one day at my local walmart in el mirage, do all my shopping with my kiddos and come outside, I get to my suv and realize that there is a HUGE dent in the back and I mean HUGE! so I was like what the F man and run back inside to tell them,waiting,waiting,waiting, finally I get to talk to someone and they tell me there is nothing the store can do so he says go talk to the security officer that drives around the parking lot so I do that meanwhile im still running around with my kids and a cart full of groceries,so i find this guy and he pretty much looks at my car and said there is nothing we can do about this......really dude? you cant call the cops?,you cant look at the video to see if you can Id the car that hit mine? you cant do anything? what are the cameras for? just in case someone hits something of yours? who gives a poo about the customers! This store has the worst service of any store I have ever visited. They do not train their cashiers, they have no manners, and have a hard time understanding anything except break time or time to leave. I went to the store this morning, found a lane with one person in front of me and proceeded to unload the buggy. When we ran out of room, the cashier looked at us and said, I'm closed. I replied her light was on and she turned it off and said, I'm closed. I will never go back to this poorly run store again. Walmart is Walmart...their prices might be lower but their customer service and ethics certainly are not high on their list of priorities. On a recent visit to my neighborhood Walmart, my husband and I went inside for an ad match from their own website. We wanted to buy a pocket hose as seen on TV . They had one on their shelf and as usual, the package had been cut open. Inspecting the hose, it seemed fine and since we were thinking of getting it for the price ad on their website for $12.88 we decided take a chance. Got to the checkout lane and the cashier said it cost $19.88. My husband told her about the ad on the website and even showed her the price for the exact product, same length and etc. , on his smartphone and the cashier said she would need to get the manager . The manager came and my husband showed him the ad . The manager has a scanner and it says $19.88 ,then he gets his own smartphone and brings up the Walmart.com site and see the ad for $12.88. When he touches the screen, the ad goes to another window which shows $19.88. So which is the correct ad price? Well obviously according to Walmart it is the higher price. Added to this the comments made by the manager while trying to bring up the website on his phone....how some people manipulate the ads in a fraudulent manner to get a lower price! Well, I suppose that is possible but two people in their fifties like us certainly don't know how to to do that and for four dollars, it wouldn't be worth it! Now if we were talking hundreds of dollars off an item....I could see the suspicion. Let's not even go anywhere near what I've seen at this Walmart....people taking roll on deodorant from the shelf, open it, USE it under the armpits and then return it to the shelf! Or the opened boxes of cookies, crackers...etc where one or two is taken and the opened box left. I don't buy anything there unless it is in shrink wrap. My issue is the manager could not explain why the ad was showing two different prices for the same exact item. And if their website is that unsecured , just how safe is it to purchase anything from it online? I wonder also if they just stuck that opened hose package right back on the shelf for the next fool to buy. And is this some kind of bait and switch ploy to bring people in for one price and then get them to buy it for a higher price? The only good thing I could possibly say about this store is they do, so far, have a decent return policy. If you are willing to wait in line for thirty minutes while people return their used play pools and get a few cents difference on a price match on their toilet paper. ive had to return two toaster ovens which died ....the knobs fells off......within the past six months. Walmart may get a fraction of my business but certainly not the majority of it. They can't even be bothered to respond to feedback they elicit from their own website. read more

I visited the Walmart on Thunderbird in El Mirage after 10 pm I picked out the items that I wanted to purchase and then went to the front and began to get in line when I realize there were about 70 people standing in line and only one checkstand open I glanced around and saw three or four what looked to be supervisor standing around having a great conversation but none of them are willing to jump in an open another line up so I chose to abandon my cart and go to another store I won't be visiting this Walmart again read more

I am giving this store 2 stars only because there are a few very nice cashiers and the store is one of the cleaner Walmarts I have been to. There are always long lines to check out. The management just can't seem to figure out scheduling. At 5 PM on a Saturday why would you have 6 express lines open and only one regular line open? The managers here are so rude, im taking my complaint up with district managers.. my mother had someone send her money via money gram, she has an out of state licence and they told her they required mail. Called money gram they asked for the sales people to speak to cause thats not their policy.. the managers refused to cash it for her and or speak to someone feom money gram. Needless to say its the principal of the matter not the $ in this situation & you can bet your butt I will spend more money to shop elsewhere wit my 300 every other week and will be canceling my walmart card. I don't understand the negative reviews for this Walmart. Come on, it's Walmart, lower your expectations a little. Anyways, this Walmart is my favorite out of all the ones in the area. It (to me) isn't overly crowded, and things are usually stocked and clean. In my opinion, this one has the best selection of products overall. We used to shop there on a regular basis, as well as use the pharmacy. Not anymore. Tired of the long lines and 2 cashiers working and employees who are there just to make their paycheck and go home. Managers are completely clueless and do not know how to respond to a complaint. The pharmacy never has what I need, never calls to let you know when something is ready, even when they said, "we will call you when it is in" Never, not even once. That is extremely poor customer service and that makes people like me to stop using this store. They need to hire a customer service guru or just someone who has some common sense to retrain every employee. If you work someplace, own it, respect your customers or you lose business, it's that simple. To the managers constantly standing around, maybe you should be checking on your departments and customers to see if everything is going ok. That's what makes a good store and you get repeat business. It's to bad, this was close to home but we've decided that our last visit was the final straw, we will not be returning. read more
