The store uses those electronic price tags. The price tags will indicate one price, but the item scans at a higher price at check-out. Again, this has happened to me twice in the past two months. For example, a pack of 8 tortillas was listed as $3.99 on the electronic price tag, but scanned at the register as $6.99. As I sat and thought about it, if this is a store scam against customers, then it is the perfect store for doing so, since many of its customers are elderly. Two more things I need to point out: 1) Another customer had the same pricing issue, and 2) The 'customer watcher' at the self check-out comes right over and makes the price change with no questions asked. It's flaky as hell, and I advise everyone to do an experiment by taking pictures of the price tags before going to the check-out.

TERRIBLE price on shelf to price on receipt correlation…read more I am NOT inept on the app. But those who say the prices are great if you shop the sales don't look at their receipts. If you watch your receipts in a detailed fashion you will find something wrong nearly every trip. To help you - WATCH details on sale prices closely. Nearly always there is a catch. 1) A limit on how many you may buy at that price. Sometimes per transaction. Sometimes per week. Sometimes per month. 2) Only certain flavors or styles get the sale price. If you never click the "eligible items" you may actually pay full price. (ie: MANY times I have purchased an item advertised on "for U deals" and paid FULL PRICE because only a few flavors were included in "eligible items." Certain varieties of soda are notorious for this in my experience. 3) READ the FINE PRINT (if you can). I will admit to being older. Thus my eyes are not great. If tiny print on the app or the shelf says "on two" you must buy two to get the price. I just bought coffee, that on the shelf was "7.99". On my receipt it was "14.99" because the fine print said you must buy two. 4) If the app is acting funny EXAMINE YOUR RECEIPT CAREFULLY! I recently went through my entire shopping trip, and had "clipped" all the sales on the app. But at the end my price sounded very high. Looking at the receipt, I had received nearly zero discounts. The reason I was given at customer service, was that my phone must not have connected with their system at check out. The difference was more than $20. The only indication I had in advance was that I had to sign back into my account with my phone number just before I entered the store. 5) It is IMPOSSIBLE to see if you got the correct price at the register because the discounts often come off at the end! This is my biggest complaint with the way their system works! Often I would catch the problems without having to deal with customer service, but I don't see them until I have paid! (To be honest, I wonder how often people do not want to deal with the line at customer service, and the hassle.) CONCLUSION: If you have never been in line at customer service at Albertsons, you are NOT getting good prices. You are not getting the prices advertised on the shelf. You are paying more than you think. Period. Still a nice clean place and usually friendly people. Just expensive.

When she wasn't looking, I made off with the bag and figured out how to open it and still keep the chicken inside- it needed to stay nice incase I wanted a snack later. It is always clean, and the staff is very attentive and helpful. Today, the produce section was fully stocked, and I took advantage picking up fruit, spinach, kale, celery, onions, all for my stew and salads! What I absolutely love about Target is that they have cashiers! If I choose to self-checkout, I can do so, but it's nice to be able to have a cashier ring up my items as well. This was a quick visit. In my middle school days I frequented a Family Dollar and a privately owned dollar store, always leaving satisfied with useless junk. Junk, that would one day would be discarded without a second thought like a pillow radio and a geometric Rubik's Cube (that I was only able to solve once in the span of six years). But Dollar General...ohhohhoh! They actually have stuff I need. I can't tell you how many times this Dollar General has came through for me. Notecards, dry erase boards, butter, cheese, milk, socks, slippers, iPhone cases, trash bags, aluminum foil, and dog toys. All things that have been found at this Dollar General for a decent price. The cleanliness and upkeep of the stores have fallen by the wayside, neglect and lack of attention to the presentation of produce department, meat department, and deli department. The produce department has rotting vegetables, and fruits with fruit flies flying around them. Employees move around what is obvious in plain sight, rotting vegetables and fruits without making sure that they are being removed and replaced with fresh vegetables and fruits. The meat department has meat that has lost its freshness! Meaning, a lot of the meat has a brown look around the edges hence the meat has lost its freshness and on the brink of spoiling. This is a Great Concern for me! I used to shop at Vista Market as a preference to other grocery stores, but now I seldom shop there due to the decline of its stores. Lord knows I have shopped at Socorro, Montana, Horizon, Zaragoza, and George Dieter and the common theme that is lacking integrity, pride and managerial leadership.
