This store is about as close to a Mexican store as you can get. They had an incredible amount of sweet bread! There was a full market with an array of meats to choose from. El Super Grocery is a fantastic find for anyone looking to get high-quality, freshly fried fish. This massive grocery store has an impressive selection across all departments - from meat and dairy to a full-service bakery and food court. I was particularly impressed by the fish section. Unlike typical grocery stores, El Super will fry up any fish you select for you on the spot. This is a game-changer if you don't want to deal with the hassle and smell of frying fish at home. The tilapia I got was perfectly crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, with no fishy flavor. They'll fry up fillets as well as whole fish - just be aware that they don't remove the heads or tails if you go with the whole fish option. The fish section at El Super is truly impressive - they have a huge variety of fresh seafood options, from whole fish to fillets and beyond. As someone used to the traditional Asian grocery experience of picking a live fish and having it prepared, I was initially a bit thrown off by the process at El Super. Rather than selecting a live fish, you choose the pre-packaged fish you want from the refrigerated cases. You then take the fish to the counter and they give you a slip with the price. From there, you have to go back up to the front registers to pay for the fish before returning to the counter to have it fried. At first, this extra step threw me for a loop, as I'm used to a more streamlined process. But once I got the hang of it, I appreciated the efficiency. The staff were very friendly and helpful in guiding me through the system. When I returned to the fish counter after paying, they immediately got to work frying up my tilapia. I watched in amazement as they carefully dropped the whole fish into the hot oil, frying it to crispy perfection without a hint of greasiness. The transformation from raw fish to delectable fried dish was really impressive. The end result was absolutely worth the extra step. The tilapia was cooked to absolute perfection - the outside was a beautiful golden brown and the meat inside was moist and flavorful, with no trace of that unpleasant fishy taste. I also really appreciated that they were willing to fry up other seafood items beyond just the pre-packaged fish, like calamari and shrimp. That expanded the possibilities for my fried seafood feast. Overall, while the process took a bit more navigating than I expected, the quality of the fried fish at El Super more than made up for it. "El Super" former "Ranch" its an amazing grocery store that focuses on bringing latin- american and Mexican ingredients for your latin-american and Mexican cooking. I visited because their carnicería offers the specific meat cuts to make pork pozole. Obviously once there it was easy to get the rest of the items needed for the dish. This place is pretty awesome. They have tornillería, panadería, carnicería, Mexican candy, pescadería, fruits, veggies, wine, an eatery with tables to dine-in among many other things. Fried fish is delicious!! You pick em you pay for them then they fry them and take them home and no mess no smell

We knew they had pretty good Aguas Frescas so we decided to stop by on our short trip. It started as a pretty good experience until we were ordering. One of their security guards, M. Quezada, decided to harass us. I was taking a video of the drinks for a family video I was making. He came to inform us we needed to stop filming, that it wasn't allowed. I thought it was funny we couldn't record in a grocery so I was chuckling to myself. He took offense to my laughing and stated, "Even though you think it's funny, I can kick you out of the store for doing that." I was disappointed that he was unnecessarily aggressive in his approach to customers about to spend money in the store. I definitely felt uncomfortable and even embarrassed after that. After we still got our items and were leaving the store, my brother asked the security guard why we weren't allowed to record. He said, "Well, if you look at the sign at the door, this is a private area and outside is a public area." This market really is Super! My truest and only intention originally upon visiting this place was to buy their freshly made tortillas because ya just cant beat that! And Im not about to go dabble with any tortilla pressers and masa in order to do my own thing neither. Although they also offer exactly the tools you need, including the already made dough/batter for your tortillas to be pressed out or rolled out at home, I'd rather eat appropriately cooked ones already instead for a fraction of the price. No sh!t, there I was. I was minding my own business, trying to make a beeline to the tortilleria when all of a sudden, hunger sensations hit me like a 5 year old tryna score pastillas from a piñata! I was passing their amazing hot foods section where they also had these huge heating bins of nothing but tamales! Holy guacamole Batman! I was floored and i grabbed a flavor each of the chicken, beef, and pork. Only $6 later, i was sitting at their picnic tables by their hot foods section and enjoying the heck out of my tamales and hot sauce. Dang it was good!!! So quick. So cheap. And so delish! I then opted for more ingredients to make Mexican rice and i was able to easily find the chiles that i would need, rice, and tomatoes. After my appointment, I was very close to this super market, so I decided to stop in. To my absolute surprise, it was a great grocery store! I especially needed vegetables, and believe me, you cannot find a larger selection of colorful fruits and vegetables! But that's not all! Their produce prices simply cannot be beat! I like coming to El Super whenever I want to save money on groceries. I also like to get a delicious agua fresca or slice of cake. My favorite agua fresca is always the pepino. It has chunks of lime and cucumber in it. It's OH so good! The limonada (lemonade) is my second favorite agua fresca. I like getting a slice of their tres leches cake. That's one of my favorite cakes. Sometimes I just walk into the store for those two items. This is a good place to come if you want to stock up on fruits and/or vegetables. They have most of them for low prices. The Hatch green chile is usually already roasted. It's typically very spicy so beware! I also like buying strawberries from here. The chips and cases of soda are also a good price most of the time. They make fresh food, like tacos, menudo, tamales, etc. You can eat it there or take it home. I haven't eaten anything from here in awhile. The last time I did it tasted good. I sometimes stop by to get some champurrado during the winter months. It's a thick, warm, cinnamon tasting drink. There's a hint of chocolate in it. They have a lot of other Mexican products here. If you don't like crowds, I'd stay away on weekends. If you want to save a buck or two on groceries, consider shopping at El Super. read more

Very fun store to shop at. They always have crazy sales!! My husband loves to go there and get their 4 for $1 tortas. I personally prefer organic veggies and US production but if you don't mind, their veggies are super cheap too. 3.5 stars. I've been here a few times to eat their food. Some of it is pretty tasty while some other of it is just ok. I've never purchased anything else here except food. The best things I've had here were the tacos. But the other food like for pozole is disappointing. But the prices are pretty cheap and it's self-serve chips and salsa. read more

If you haven't been here yet you should definitely give it a try. As a kid going to Juarez I loved places like this (I don't think there are any Pro's Ranch Markets in Juarez though). You can grab a bite to eat and wash down the authentic Mexican food with an agua right before...or during...grocery shopping. PRM carries the basics with an emphasis on Mexican products. If you're a soda drinker buy some of the bottled sodas here because they are from Mexico. Translation: Made with real sugar, none of this artificial sweetener crap. As expected they have a "butcher" section, but I steer clear of that area because it doesn't appear to be the best quality (still that's authentic to the meat selection you would find in many stores in Mexico). It is a large section though, I will say that. The deli section is quite large as well. And if you love the cheese from Lincon Dairy but don't want to take the trip, they have it available. It appears to be a well maintained store with regular cleaning and helpful employees. Outside you'll find different "shops" and businesses located in little slots (I don't know how else to explain it) and sometimes an employee making roasted chiles. And you can't miss this store, it has a giant balloon bull in the parking lot. I was caught between giving PRM a 3 or a 4 and decided to bump it up to the 4 because it really is something worth experiencing. Jr. Produce is probably the closest thing to PRM and still it doesn't compare, hence deserving 4 stars. Oh and don't forget they make their own tortillas! read more

Pro's Ranch Market is a little slice of Mexico in the otherwise larger slice of Mexico that is El Paso. In all seriousness, this is a pretty authentic Mexican supermarket (for those of us veterans of being visiting Juarez): they roast their own chiles, have a great bakery, taqueria, and sell all kinds of Mexican goodies. I came here to get my flan and asadero fix and ended up buying some tasty tres leches cake as well. The only advice I will give you about Pro's Ranch Market is this: make sure you have a TON of patience and don't come here hungry. This store houses MAJOR crowds and my first reaction when entering the parking lot is always: "SON OF A B*TCH!" Does not disappoint...again!! Ate here for dinner. We ordered fried tilapia fish fillet from the seafood side and bought rice from the food court side. They fry AND season your fish for free!!!! Awesome catch! The food we ate was so simple, but SO DAMN DELICIOUS and cheap! We got a heaping back of fried fish fillet for a mere $14?!? The fish was seasoned PERFECTLY and the it was crispy in all the right ways. YUMMMMMM. It was even more delicious when eating with fresh cilantro, chopped onions, and lime juice (which is free at the food court area), and that DEF did hit the spot!! I also got a Mamey fresca, which is as sweet as a horchata, yet I have no idea what it is! It looks like a giant almond to me, but it tasted very good. It was too sweet for me after a bunch of sips, so I had water also. Love how we can get tasting samples and many to choose from. Plus, they're a bit cheaper compared to buying them at Vista market. Five stars to El Super for their outstanding customer safety approach during this Covid-19 Pandemic. This store is spot-on with their social-distancing policy. Not only is their policy well thought out, it is executed in a well thought out manner. They keep the number of customers inside the store down to a manageable level, so as to avoid people crowding one another. They have garbage bins all over the parking lot, and all over the store for discarding trash. I have no reservations with recommending customers to this El Super location for a safe food shopping experience. read more

Pros Ranch Market is pretty much what I'd assume a grocery in Mexico would be like. I say assume because I've never been to Mexico.... Ok I take that back, I have been to Mexico, but it definitely wasn't for grocery shopping. This location is located on the east side and it isn't hard to find, it's right off I-10. You can see it from the interstate. I-10E it's on your left, I-10W its on your right. When you walk in, you're greeted with tons of fresh products and festive/upbeat Mexican music jamming over the PA. It's kinda cool. You just feel happier than you would when walking in a normal grocery store. They have every product and every brand a normal grocery store would have. But what's cool about this place, is that in addition to the normal grocery store products, they have tons and tons of local and normal Mexican type products that you wouldn't find (if you're not from here) in a normal store. Especially the fresh and store made stuff. Meats at the butcher section, breads and baked goods at the bakery, awesome selections of cheeses at the deli, and so many fresh produce items. And cheap too.. We get flyers in the mail and often go here for fresh produce. When I walked in last time for some tomatoes, I was greeted by a huge display of something... Said fresh bolilleos? Spelled right? Who cares, it was delicious, large, and 4 / $1. I absolutely copped them. They also have cool stuff for someone like me (not Mexican and not a cook) that i love but can only find in restaurants... Mainly fresh made salsas and chips etc. Looooove it. And they have like a small food court kinda thing. Alllllllll kinds of delicious staples of Mexican food found here and you can grab a bite for CHEAP and eat it right there in the store. I really like Pros Ranch Market. A great store to shop in and get a little taste of local flavor. I'm not sure how "local" people think about it, but despite living here, I'm the furthest thing from local there is... Loved this place. Its a very clean and organized market. It has anything and everything a Mexican would want to shop for. Fresh tortillas, fresh salsa and delicious Mexican sweet bread (conchas). Aside from the shopping, you can also eat there, they have a food court type area with options like tacos and tamales. The tacos were yummy, will be trying the tamales on my next trip. They have beautiful fruit decorated cakes that i will try later this month for my bday. This deserves 5 stars because its a great atmosphere, even the music makes me Happy. Love this place!! The produce here is always cheap, they have fresh tortillas and totopos (tortilla chips) masa for tamales already made. Spices, chiles, grains, queso fresco, crema, requeson, ect. The meat is always fresh too and at decent prices. They have a seafood are as well, and they even fry whole fish for you there. They have a bakery as well. The food there is ok and the aguas frescas are hit or miss. The lady's at the hot food section are a bit rude not all of them. Tamales at El Super. Today I bought the most expensive and the worst tamales I ever tasted. Please save your money and get them somewhere else. This place is always clean. They sell a lot of Mexican food products that you won't find in your local grocery store. For example, they have a bar with at least a dozen different types of sour cream. They have an in house tortilleria and bakery. If you get a chance, try the apple fritters from them. They also have a large selection of seafood. The only part I don't like is the smell of the carniceria, the meat market. I don't know if it smells bad, or if I just don't like the smell of dead animal any more. The food court has a variety of fresh food prepared to your satisfaction for low prices. I was limping around on my crunches with a tray of delicious tacos and the friendly staff assist me by taking it to the nice tables to have lunch and even brought over a high chair for my son without me having to ask. I get that it is no longer Ranch Market, however I was shocked when we walked in and it felt like I walked into a hospital. The lighting was so incredibly bright, all semblance of culture is gone, which is what I loved the most about it before. The Fresca stand is gone, workers seems like robots. Makes me sad. All the products there I can get at any other store, the atmosphere and culture was wiped out when it turned into El Super. No reason to shop there anymore. Well, if I want a shit ton of meat and peppers I now know where to go. My friend was going a Mexican brunch so she wanted to hit up Los Altos ranch market. A little out of the way for us west side denizens, los altos was worth the drive. This place is massive! Like seriously, its a Mexican foodie's mecca. I didn't try the burrito/taco station but only by exercising immense self control. Instead, while she did most of the shopping I was mercilessly catching pokemon left and right between the two, that's right two!, pokestops in the store. We travel for work. Upon arriving in El Paso we needed to do a little shopping for some hotel crockpot cooking. I love shopping for groceries at Mexican style grocery stores. This store was an absolute treat to shop. The meat dept. was very well stocked with quality meats. The butcher glass had a beautiful supply with very helpful personal EVERYWHERE we visited. Each dept. had prideful and quality people. They seemed to have a personal quality you just don't find in chain stores. Produce section was very well stocked. Though we did not partake in the resturants food available. ....it looked and smelled great. I will stop here when ever we get through town. It is well worth your time to visit this store. It is not just "Mexican groceries " anyone looking for quality at reasonable prices....for any kind of groceries needs to visit.
