My son won a $20 gift card and since we are in the city, this was the closest Walmart we found on Google maps, we headed south for to spend his gift card. The store is definitely big and they stocked on toys. I'm not sure if it was because it was busy, but we were unable to find anyone to help us when we were in the electronics department. I came in here today to buy some paint with my mother.I talked to not just one but four workers, one woman just walked away from me while I was talking to them. The other three workers said that they were going to get someone but no one came. I called the manger twice, and they announced over the intercom twice...no one showed up. I had to stop two more empolyies to helped me. The only one who helped us was a very nice man named Sean. He should get a raise because this wasn't his Department and he was very helpful. read more

I went to pickup an item I had ordered and was greeted at the pickup desk by an employee wearing his pants below his buttocks, he asked for a ID so I handed over my drivers license, he looked at it, dropped it on the counter and left to go find my package, didn't have the decency to hand it back to me. I thought I had hit the jackpot: a Wal-Mart right down the street from where I work. I thought, "I can do my grocery shopping after work, rather than making a special trip on the weekends." I thought wrong. I've been to this Wal-Mart three times and each time I always have to make another trip to another store because they don't have everything. Normally it's simple little things you'd think just about every grocery chain would carry: broccoli florets, red lentils, chickpeas, etc. I'll probably keep shopping here, but I know I can't get everything I want or need. *sigh* read more

I dont think I have ever been to a better Walmart in all of the Midwest. The people are some of the easiest people to understand, and the customer service... unmatched! I was looking for some chitterlings, to put in my mash potatoes for Thanksgiving. I was struggling finding them, until this very sweet lady from the baking section noticed me. She came over and said, "Hey! It look like you lost baby?" Oh how right she was. I told her what I was looking for, and little did I know I'd get an entire lecture about pork meat. It was one of the most eye opening things every. I informed her that I also needed pigs feet, and she helped me pick out some that werent all that hairy! I just want to thank this Walmart for all the good they do in our community! read more

Took the bus here. There was people but not like it would be at about 9am. I was able to take my time and didn't have to worry about Seniors and children running me over. Store was stocked and cleaned. Got here at 7am and now I'm done. They even have my new beer Corona Familiar, $2 more. But that's ok. They also had my wine. I love the Walmart Supercenters for everything. I love the concept and the pricing structures. When the winter seasons arrive, Walmart Supercenters are where the bulk of my shopping occurs for items that require a lessor cooking time. The customer service is superior and the return policies are legendary. The household items concept ordered online and delivered to store locations or for home delivery is stellar. The number of items available to the consumer is timely, relevant, and cutting edge quality. My first visit to Walmart and Sam's Club occurred 50 years ago and I yet enjoy the Walmart experience. I shop at several locations. I love the roast beef from the deli department and the boxed, frozen steaks. read more

Went into Walmart customer service yesterday to return a few items and to ask them if they could locate an item for me. My first issue, gave the wrong Walmart receipt to the young woman behind the counter, but instead of her handing me my receipt in my hand, she threw the receipt at me and stated ugh my head hurt . I apologized to her and handed to her the correct receipt, she did not acknowledge or say anything proceeded with the return, mumbled something I could not understand. I stated excuse me but I didn't hear you, she then pointed at the screen. Really in customer service!! I had asked about the item at the beginning of the encounter but restated again at this point if there was anyway she could tell me if a store had the item. Her response was Nope, we don't have no way of looking up nothing. Ughhhhhhhh my head hurt, then she picked up her phone. . I've experienced some bad encounters at Walmart and other stores however this has to be one of the worst. What's concerning is I'm sure she like all of us really need to work for a living, but I'd like to hope there would be some type of rehabilitation program. I sure hope so!! read more

This Walmart is usually pretty crowded. I recommend getting here as early as possible. They have a fairly good stock of products. I can generally find everything I come for. The service, however, tsk, tsk. Don't expect friendly smiling faces. Most times, I receive the bare minimum. When this store opened, it was clean and easy to navigate. The shelves were neatly stocked and floors were gleaming. Now I find undies in the fruit section, I am forced to give an aisle-wide berth to the gargantuan mammals on their motorized shopping vehicles, and the residue on the floor makes it nearly impossible for me to push my own cart. I did find women's undergarments in the fruit section--in the grapes, to be precise. I would have taken a photo, but the juxtaposition of the grapes with the plus-sized underwear seized my consciousness, as disgusting things will. Now the undies were clean and still on one of those clip-hangars they take away from you at the register, and I actually did pull out my phone to take the photo that surely would have won me the Gran Prix in some avant-guard photography competition, but my mind was too busy trying to resurrect the thought processes of the (exceedingly) large shopper who, upon spotting these sale-priced skivvies, these bargain basement briefs, decided that she (or he if the shopper was adventuresome) must have them, only to realize, while downing a grape or two and screaming at her children, that she was fooling herself, that these damn panties would be too damn tight and hell, I don't work here, they got people to do that for me, so I'm leaving them here, and these grapes need sugar, yo. It may also be the case that, hungry, she reached for the grapes (which if they were not completely in the bag, were obviously free), but learned that she could not hold the leviathan loincloths while also gathering the grapes; or perhaps she reasoned that she could not place the undies in her cart, as they would smother her children to death, and so was moved to place the planetary panties on said fruit, and then promptly forgot about them. Might this have been a statement about how if we Americans do not eat our fruit, we will soon need to wear intimates whose circumference rivals that of Phobos or Dimos? An ironic piece of modern social criticism? Maybe. In any case, all this was going through my mind, which explains why I will never buy fruit from this store again. I also have problems merely walking through the aisles. It seems like I am always angling my cart into a rack of blouses in order to avoid the five-hundred pound mammal on the slow-moving, motor-propelled shopping carts that clog the store's arteries. While I completely support those with disabilities, I have a more difficult time extending my empathy to the merely obese who refuse to walk and shop at the same time. This Walmart is full of them. They drive five yards per mile and always seem to be impassively looking into the distance rather than in front of them (which leads me to have to dive into the blouses to prevent being run over). Don't pretend I am not there--I am a human being, damnit. And I've got guts--I don't run from nobody--but not even Tank Man would stand up to the people cruising the store in their motorized shopping carts. I get quite a workout at this store. When I am not walking fifty feet out of my way to avoid the motorized shopping vehicles, I am usually trying to push my cart through the aisles. But there are always substances on the floor that increase the friction. Occasionally, it is easy to ascertain the nature of the substance; for example, sometimes I will see blue gunk on the floor near the cleaning products, and thus I assume that this is some sort of spilled cleaner or laundry detergent. Other times I am not so sure of what it is that immobilizes my cart. I'm good-looking and learned early that most bodily fluids are slippery, and it would seem that, as getting stuck is the problem, I can hardly consider them suspects. Of course, after a period, bodily fluids do become other than slippery, and sometimes, when mixed with dirt, they become assume the consistency of Kragl-strength glue. And I think that--well, best not to let that image out on the Internet. Suffice it to say that walking through this Walmart is like trying to drive a Gremlin through five feet of mud. Am I a snob? That's possible. But I hate this place. I'll give this store a break, though, and not talk about the odor of the clientele (no matter the race of the guest, the odor is similarly vomitrocious) and give credit where credit is due: The cashiers at this store have never been anything but wonderful. Always friendly and helpful. Always. Kudos to them--they have stressful jobs (yes, being a cashier in a busy store is stressful) and they don't get paid enough, yet they are always really cool people. I wish i could give zero stars. This walmart is the portal to ghetto hell. The parking lot has tumble WEAVE not tumbleweed. Packed all the time, only three checkouts open. The cashiers dont greet you, tell you your total or acknowledge your prescence. I said thank you, cashier said mhmmm. People just stand in the middle of the aisle, I say excuse me they look at me like im the rudest person ever. The store is unorganized and a total mess. I wish I was able to give negative stars for this. I know this is a fairly new location, we had just finished eating close by. I needed to run in to grab a couple things, very simple, toilet paper, laundry det, and bread..easy right? NO The parking lot was enough to make me want to pull my hair out..once again..people fighting over parking spaces because they are too LAZY to walk, kids whos parents seem to have no parental skills at all letting them act the way they did! Ignorant loud, push me out of the way morons! I have never heard the words "excuse you" so many effin times by people..when you put your hand in front of my face to grab something off the shelf, thats when you..as a civilized person say "excuse ME!!!!" WTF is wrong with people? Not to mention..they were sold out of scott toilet paper,,and gain laundry detergent...and the lack of bread made me not want to buy anything. I grabbed a couple things..finally after dodging kids trying to run people over with carts, and stupid teenagers that cant bother to look where they are walking...I get to the "express lane" 10 items or less or whatever..and guess what? I was the only person in line with less than 20 effin items..apparently the clientele at this location can't read. Never again...Must say that the girl who checked us out was very polite and nice. I went to go look for a fathers day gift. We found a car radio and it was definitely reasonably priced. Now getting it out of the secured glass locker was a hassle. We asked a representative in electronics and he called it over the intercom. We waited and waited. 10-15 mins passes by and about 5 representatives already walked by. Not one could help is out. We asked a representative again in electronics an he told us somebody will be here momentarily . I had to ask a representative again who was just staring at me looking lost. Save yourself some time and go to target instead. Better customer service, organization, and better quality items. read more

I live in the area so this is my neighborhood Wal Mart. Not impressive at all- lacking. Dirty and frequently out of items. However, I recently ordered online for in-store pick up and the 2 young men at the pick up desk were awesome. Beautiful smiles when they greeted me and very polite. Sadly, I couldn't find the survey/comment card they asked me to complete regarding their service so I figured this was the next best thing. These 2 young men were all stars in an otherwise average Wal Mart. read more

Encouraged that there was a Walmart within a relatively close drive, so I could order a time sensitive purchase online for later pick up that day. Around noon, I purchased the item online for pick up early that evening. I just received a "cancel email" as I was getting ready to drive there four hours later, that it was not in stock. Very disappointed that it took so long for them to discover they were out of stock. Then, I tried to call the store (a couple of times) to check on availability at other Walmart stores within a reasonable driving distance. Both times my call was promptly transferred to the never answered, continuous busy signal, extension. Not impressed with the Evergreen Park location. Slow at order fulfillment, and poor at customer phone support/service. This is not the typical Walmart customer service I have enjoyed from other locations. Considering the other consistently low reviews of this location and my experience, I would not recommend the Evergreen Park Walmart. read more

Your chances of finding a spot are slim to none..and if you do find a spot you are liable to be run over in the parking lot by some crazy ass driver. Welcome to the un-organized world of Wal-Mart in the hood! I was suppose to be a pretty basic trip: Get in, grab some quick items for a road trip and get out. Fine. Only no one told the employees of this store. I knew we werein trouble when we walked in and the lines to checkout were ridiculous. There were way too many people in line and only a couple of registers open. Nevertheless me and my buddy Jilly kept on with our mission of goodies. I needed an mp3 player, which i found for cheap...so cheap it only plays about 8 songs, and the rest of the songs downloaded play only the intro to the songs. Sweet. Jill-ster got a comforter for $25 which was amazing, so was the 8 gallons of lemonade i got for 2 bucks. But in the music aisle Jill hit a disturbing note: "where's all the white music?' Sure you put a Wal-mart in a primarily black neighborhood, which in some ways should focus products on who comes in the most, but come on?Thats totally disturbing I can't find a random Ben Folds cd but you'll offer me over me 8 remixes of "Do the Stanky Leg" and every gospel artist ever born. Yeah I know I'm from the hood but maye I wanna rock out to some Kelly Clarkson? Ugh. Jill also ran into a 3 hour wait for a prescription, and this was on a non-busy day? I've looked over the comments and it still seems that this Walmart has not gotten its' act together in terms of customer service. For the life of me I can not understand how in the hell these people got, and continue to have, their jobs! OH, I guess having an attitude/roll eyes/sighing as though WE are making it uncomfortable for them, you are good to go to have a job at Walmart. I guess that is what CORPORATE wants, for us to come and deal with them because it is what it is. Some of those people at this particular store don't need to be there. If I could give 1/2 star I would. THIS PLACE SUCKS DONKEY YOU-KNOW-WHAT!!! I was more than thrilled when Wal-Mart moved into the neighborhood and when it first opened it was ok, if you went in the early morning hours; Now, if you go anytime there is hardly any stock on the shelves. I couldn't even finish my shoppng list, they barely had anything. That makes me so angry. The produce is not fresh, the frozen section is in complete shambles. The price tags never match what's above it. The bakery is so small you could walk right past it and not know it. This store should just be shut down. They have 2 employees that are nice, one name Prince and the other girl (unsure of name) works in the customer service area she is always nice and has never had an attitude. I never go in here unless it is an emergency and not even then. One time I was checking out and the cahsier was pregnant, first of all she kept looking around like she was looking for someone. So my guess is she was going home or on break, when it was my turn I said hi, how are you, she gave me the stankiest look ever. THAT was the last time I ever walked in that Wal-Mart. From now on I drive ALL the way to the Wal-Mart in Orland Park. That store is 24hours and huge. They always have what I need on the shelf and theyhave a huge clearance area. Its often crowded. There usually aren't enough check out lanes open. But, I can go there and find pretty much whatever I'm looking for at a good price. I tried to call the store this morning at 7:00 a.m. The phone number on the web-site is for their photo center. The web-site did not have their correct main number. I had to get my lay-a-way receipt to find the correct number. This was an inconvenience, I called the store again and I let the phone ring for 5 solid minutes and finally got an answer. I wanted to know when the lay-a-way department would be open and it wasn't until 9:00 a.m. Why didn't they have that information on the web-site. They went out of their way to advertise it. Also, I found their correct number on the Yelp page. Can this be corrected or am I just blowing off steam. read more

This is the worst walmart ever....I ordered a canvas photo for a Christmas present (same day processing/ pick up in store) I choose this store for pick up because the one closest to my house said it wasn't available for canvas printing at this time. It was supposed to be ready at 10:30 am on 12/24. At 3pm i never received a confirmation saying it was ready so i called the store, 45 min on hold and then got disconnected. Finally went to store and they tell me they took the photo machine out of the store to make room for pick up inventory. I was fuming, the store said it was available for photo processing and to get there and find out my photo wasn't ready. They never even called, emailed me etc.. to let me know my order was not going to be done. On 12/29 i checked my account and it was cancelled on that day. I tried to reorder the photo on 12/30 and it again said store was available for photo processing/ pick up. This time i called the store and they told me no we can't do it. I asked to talk to a manager and the phone rang for 15 min without ever being answered. I will be calling corporate. read more

As soon as you walk into this place the air feels dense you can tell no one has mopped that floor in weeks probably in months! I ordered something very simple online and the only reason I ordered it online from this place is because the other closest Walmart did not have it in stock and all the other Walmart's were too far and it was a bit of an emergency for me to get it. So I decided to order it from here. I went to pick up the same day and I get there and it is not at the pick up station! The girl working there told me no one had picked it up from the floor yet! So I was forced to cancel the pick up and find the item myself. The item was literally a few feet away from the entrance! And they couldn't walk to get it really quick? Instead ,I the customer who ordered it online had to go there in the cold, find the item, pick it up myself and wait 15mins in line when all of that could've been avoided had someone who wasn't lazy enough picked up the item for a customer! #Rude.
