Update since review. Bathroom remodeling appears to be finally finished! Big kudos again to the CostCo return policies and staff, always friendly and a great member benefit. I returned unopened Halloween candy (it was snowing and nasty weather, few kids) and also a weird rare Kirkland milk scenario where the containers were somehow not filled all the way from the dairy. New seasonal items are available, which will usually go fast! read more

I needed to add air to my tires, not having done it before and after 4 hand surgeries... I couldn't even get the cap off the tire valve. This is one of the busiest Costco's and I've been to a lot of Costco's! Even so, this location usually has a wide variety of items that my location doesn't carry. I advise you to avoid visiting on the weekends and right before any holiday. Folks that work here are nice enough but patrons will run you over, literally. Please be aware of your surroundings in the parking lot and good luck getting gasoline here too. read more

What's not to love about Costco? Hahaha from their free food tasting to their $1.50 hot dogs and $4.99 chicken. It's absolutely fantastic. But this time, I'm raving about the wine advent calendar that they have! They are half bottles and we don't drink it like how the Advent calendar should be. I just open it on Wednesday and enjoy a bottle with the hubs. We get to try all different kind of wine from all over the world. It was so fun we had to get 2 cases and beer brew so we can have it all year round. It's $99 for the wine calendar and $69.99 for the beer advent calendar. If you like to try all different kinds of wine, I highly recommend these wine advent calendar at $99.99 which is about $4 a half bottle. Cheers and happy drinking! Drink responsibly read more

The store has become ridiculously overly crowded, even during the usual off hours. But to make matters worse, Costco keeps adding stacks of products in the aisles, making it very difficult for customers to move past one another. As a result, people are just abandoning their shopping carts instead of trying to maneuver around to find what they need. Many times I've had to move abandoned shopping carts from the middle of aisles in order to get by. It must be new management because it never used to be this way. It's a Costco. You know what to expect at Costco. They're pretty consistent everywhere. This one seems to be slammed at all hours... does anyone around here work or do they just hang out at Costco all day? It's much more crowded than the one in Pilsen I shopped at for years. Employees here are patient and helpful. The cashiers move quickly and seem to deal with the crowds and stress well. I get my prescriptions here and prices on those are nice, they also let you use your GoodRX discount code if you have one. Like other Costcos, gas is cheaper here than the daily rate at standard gas stations, but you'll wait in line at the pump. The only real complaint I have about Costco is their insistence upon having folks at the exit who check your receipt. The company's PR claims this is to help prevent people from being charged for items they did not purchase, which is nonsense. We did this 22 years ago when I worked at Best Buy, it's an old Loss Prevention technique and what they are looking for are items the cashier missed or that you stashed and didn't pay for. It's especially frustrating at this extremely busy location. When I shop here I want to get my stuff and get the hell out ASAP, the noise and crowds stress me out. The last thing I want is to stand in another line at the exit and wait for someone to draw a green line on my receipt after I already lined up to check out. Plus it's right by the customer service desk, so it's always backed way up to the desk and between the people trying to leave and the folks waiting to be helped at the desk, you don't always know where to stand. The Costco experience would be massively improved by eliminating this LP receipt check. read more

Funny story. Costco has someone in line at the beginning to make sure you don't have too many items and to check your face versus the face on your Costco card. Then right afterward someone different does the receipt to make you swiped the items this is before even walking tot he front door. This review is for the Costco in Orland Park, Illinoi. If they have the merchandise you want, you will never match the quality or price. Never hesitate on the purchase, because any new item may no longer be there the next time you shop. My complaint is the shoppers at Costco. From the minute I pull into the parking lot, customers abandon all civility. They act like they are in an evacuation situation from a disaster. How there are are not more accidents in the lot, amazes me. This behavior continues in the store, and shoppers will not hesitate to hit you with a shopping cart if they perceive you are impeding their progress. I feel I would do best if I dressed as if I was on a SWAT team, and was heavily armed. Sometimes the Costco staff is just as rude, especially if they are returning carts, to the front of the store. Costco shopping carts are used by all as offensive weapons. Even when Orland Park Police cars are in the parking lot, drivers do not show much courtesy. Eva and James are the best employees in the Orland Park store. They should be promoted, and should patrol the store to calm the masses. read more

I purchased a Whirlpool fridge from Costco in 2022. Everything was fine the first few months. As time passed the fridge began to experience issues. We called Costco who referred us to their third party repair company (Diamond Factory Service). The repair company came, fixed the issue and all was well. A few months later, the whirlpool fridge isn't working again. Called Costco (again) who sent us the service company a second time. When the fridge broke a third time I contacted Costco to see about returning it since it had given us so many problems in so little time. They told me it was past their 90 day return policy. Buyers beware, Costco's return policy of 100% customer satisfaction does not extend to large appliances. I have owned many fridges and none have broken in less than a year of purchase, let alone break 3 times. Costco has no problem taking your money for the appliances they sell but will then send a third party company to do their fixing should a problem arise. So now, the limited warranty has expired, the service company cannot service the refrigerator and when I contact Costco they tell me I have to contact technical support. Technical support sends me back to Costco and it's been a never ending game of pass the blame. Meanwhile I'm left with a non working refrigerator and no assistance. I wanted to share my experience so that someone else didn't go through the experience we have gone through. read more

The hearing aid department is a great find. Heard from others about hearing aids and went to check out for my Mom. Mom's new hearing aids are great! I cannot say enough nice things about the staff at Orland hearing aid dept! They are GREAT! Mom saw Angela and she is so nice, patient and detailed with helping my Mom. Stopped by again on a weekend for questions Mom had and believed Katie helped us, very nice. Then yet again today stopped in and Angela went above and beyond to help my Mom. Angela is great! They need to open another location nearby. Every time I go here- it is so overly crowded to the point where people are pushing and shoving each other. You don't feel safe here at all. There is way too many people inside and there is no structure. You're better off going to your local store and shopping to avoid the stress of shopping here. The higher prices of everything just aren't worth it. I'm a long time Costco member but this will be my last year being a member here for the simply fact of how stressful it is shopping here. That alone is a stressor, so it was great to have service members outside spraying the carts and managing the social distancing lines to enter the store. I couldn't believe there were no working bathrooms and was informed that the bathroom was under construction for so many people paying money. Plumbers are available construction people are available this is absolutely ludicrous and crazy that I am inconvenienced where I am unable to use a bathroom at a facility like this. I passed up so many places because I knew that I was going to a member's only institution where they took care of, I was inconvenienced and upset. The bathroom should have only been down for hours not days. I was instructed go outside and walk a 1/2 a block to go use a bathroom. That's what the employees had to do. First important piece of advice! They do not accept Master Card unless it's debit. The store itself is great, the staff is pretty good, but the Customers! Just walking in so many people just dead stop and start looking at their phones (mostly seniors) is Facebook really that important? If so pull over and get out of the way! Staff should nicely tell these people to move along! They cause a bottleneck at the entrance. Prices have gone up on some things, I just choose not to get them. Since it's a 45 minute drive for us, we go occasionally to stock up on essential supplies. read more

As with any warehouse club you need to know your prices elsewhere to wisely compare, but so much of what is offered at Costco is is good deal. Buying in bulk is helpful. First time coming here after I got things cleared to get my brand new membership. I have not been to Costco since I was a child when they were a fairly newer company. I came here because it was close to my job and I wanted to see what was different between the one here and Bedford Park. I came with a friend and this place was like walking into a paradise. It has everything I could possibly think of. Free samples too which will ease my picky eating habits, the food court was okay. I loved the oversized carts. It's got cheap gas. The associates are really friendly and this place is ran like a well oiled machine. Managers are on the floor, opening and closing lanes for customers just to have run everything at full efficiency. That's awesome. My only thing I'm not a fan of which isn't Costco's fault but worth deducting a star over is that, THIS PLACE IS PACKED WITH PEOPLE. This place could be so busy that it could be as congested as the traffic on I55 when it merges with I94. My other reason is that besides the people in the store, you have to deal with the horrendous parking and you may have to walk a quarter mile on a real busy day. Sale associates are really cool. I'm glad to finally be at Costco and eventually start shopping more none the less. read more

The cashier assisting me to setup a business account told me that a business account required a mandatory renewal charge and they could ONLY accept a VISA card. As he was completing the paperwork, a manager was assisting another person who was opening the same business account. I overheard the manager inform the business owner that the renewal was an option and if she elected the premiere card she would be given a gift card. I turned to the cashier and asked them why they lied. The cashier said "Well, if you want I can change it." REALLY?!? When I asked the manager to confirm that my account was not set to auto renew he rolled his eyes and confirmed that it was deleted. Why the deception? I used to love going to this Costco , now with their self checkout , it is very much frustrating when u want to checkout . Self checkout supposed to make your life easier and faster, but this Costco has several employees standing by the register with hand held scanners but not willing to help out. They just stand there policing customers like criminals. It is already very annoying to lift up everything and leave it on the counter then move it back to cart. This is a whole sale shop with bulk/big items and they expect you to lift and move them back and forth and May I remind you you have to leave everything on the counter until you paid in full . Worse experience of a Costco and this was my first time using my card. Me and my mom never been to Costco so we came to Orland location. One word to describe it was GHETTO. Every time I come here there is an issue. Today I went through self check out to buy a restricted item so we we're waiting for help. The lady told us angglry that we cant scan anything before we get help, which doesn't make sense because when you scan it it then turns on the light for them to come over. They helped angglry put in my DOB and told me that I couldn't use a card that I have used here many times. They were talking so fast though, I couldn't understand so when I asked her what she was saying she got even more mad at me. Customer service is a joke. read more

I loved going with my husband on his Costco run today but I can never go back. I can't afford all the bargains. When I worked, I would tell my husband what I needed from Costco and he would get it. Today, I decided to go with him to get the generic Zyrtec. Score one for Costco. Would you like to try some brownies? Why, yes, I would. And yes, I will take that honk ass package of brownie mix. Quinoa with brown rice? Of course and add a 4 pack to the cart. You get the picture. I did not have a defense shield in place and should have started out with just 2 or 3 aisles and then leaving. This Costco is WAY too busy. You can't even walk inside there's so many people. It doesn't matter what day of the week or what time of day you go. It is just always mobbed with people. There's never any parking spaces available, you have to drive around and stalk someone walking back to their car to find an open space even behind the building. They're out of stock of nearly everything that anybody would want to buy. If you go to any other Costco in the area you're going to be able to walk freely, find a parking space, and they will have the items in stock that you need. Don't go to this Costco! People need to Take their business elsewhere and show the people running this Costco that the situation they have going on is absolutely ridiculous. THIS IS FOR THE TIRE CENTER ONLY While they were nice people, they broke a TPMS off one of my tires, and then charged me an extra 45 to fix it, after I bought 4 tires from them. I did not break it, and the TPMS was fine when I brought it in. They most likely used too much force in doing so.. Tried talking to Costco online to get my money refunded on this, but they kept directing me back to the warehouse, where I already tried to get my money refunded. They could do nothing online to help, (except redirect me to talk to them, again) unlike other major retailers that can take care of this online. If it were Amazon, the issue would have been resolved in a few minutes. Costco needs to up their customer service game online. read more

I ordered tires on Saturday 11/17/18. The salesperson told me that the tires should arrive in ONE DAY! Every day I called, the phone rang from 10-14 times. I had to call back 3 TIMES in a row to get an answer. I heard nothing from Costco on Sunday. Then called them on Monday. My tires did not arrive. On Tuesday evening, I called again. They said that 100 tires arrived so someone would call me on Wednesday. I called on Wednesday at noon. After 3 attempts, I contacted I had to contact Administration to get a message to the Tire Department. Administration told me my tires had arrived! The Tire Department confirmed that my tires had arrived, BUT. . . . . . I needed to make an appointment! I explained what happened and told them that I needed my tires TODAY. They told me that it would be a 5 HOUR WAIT! I arrived and waited. 5 HOURS and 45 MINUTES!!!! I paid for a membership. I paid for the tires and all that received was "I'm sorry for the wait" from the manager and my dusty tires. I can't believe that Costco has 7 people selling hot dogs but only 2 people selling tires, NO ONE answering the phone and very few people for tire installation! My very elderly mother was visiting from out of town and I couldn't spend the day with her. I'm FURIOUS!! NEVER AGAIN! read more
