I was craving blueberries so we stopped by this Super Walmart. Unfortunately, every package I picked up had moldy ones inside. Blah. Then we checked out the "Birkenstock" type sandals for our child but they had every size BUT the one we needed. We left without getting anything. I just left the store, having only purchased two items. The first reason: social distance shopping was not occurring, both customers and associates were going against the arrow direction for the aisles. The second reason: a security guard walking the store with a facial covering only his chin. After I checked out, the same security guard was inside the store, by the exit that I walked out of, and he was no longing wearing a facial covering. Went to Walmart in Friendswood, Tx, we purchased this Philips TV for $543. 43 CASH. We brought the TV home and started to take the TV out of the box when my wife noticed that the Screen was cracked, there was no remote, and no TV Stand in the box. We took the TV back to the store and when they opened the box it turned out that this is a swapped returned item that was never checked and was put back on the floor for sale. How do I know it was a swapped returned item you ask, well, because the serial number on the TV does not match the one on the box. Walmart management simply told me they were not giving me my money back or even exchanging it for me and that I had to leave. Now I have a broken TV and I'm Criminally Trespassed from that store. I find it difficult to review a Walmart. Over time I've found the customers rude and the prices not as notoriously low as legend says. Some things have good prices others not so much. Today I'm rating the vision center. I was told when I bought my two pair of glasses they would be ready in a week. I think my optometrist takes two weeks. The price was less than my optometrist but not as much less as I expected. I found the same frames on the web for half Walmart's price. I was never able to get a price for the lenses online because I couldn't get either outfit I contacted on the phone. If the lenses were like the frames I would have saved about $200 overall online. The service was OK but they didn't make it an enjoyable experience. One pair of the glasses were ready in a week as stated. When I drove 7 miles to pick them up I was told the second pair won't be available for another week. Good thing I have an old pair that still works. I come here because they have some things cheap enough it's worth spending $7 to drive here and suffer the crowds of rude people to get them. Overall I would rate this Walmart no more that 2.5. As for the vision center, if both pair had been available when promised and the service had made it a little more pleasant experience I would have given them four stars, because I can't rate 3.5. UPDATE: There was a lot of trouble with the glasses because of the frames (not the store's fault). They were verrry accommodating about making me entirely new glasses (both kinds). I have to give them 5 stars for effort, but there's still the rest of the store which is no better than three. read more

Customer in front of me had carried in a dead car battery for replacement. Patrick, after confirming it was under warrenty just said "we are out". Patrick went on to say we have a bunch on a palate, not sure if one is there. Customer asked if another store had one available...Patrick looked confused then asked which store... I got up to the counter saying i wanted help with buying/ordering tires. My mom went to this Walmart at 4:30pm 6/2/22 and was robbed in the parking lot of this Walmart and the manager was not able to assist in any way. They need to have police outside this facility for everyone's protection. A Walmart associate informed me that another single women with a baby was robbed the same way just a few days ago. So we are really trying to save money in 2014, and since we received some Walmart gift cards for Christmas, we decided to do our grocery shopping here for a couple weeks. Plus, we could compare prices and see how much cheaper it would be to shop here, than it is at Kroger. It does seem like the place is a LITTLE cleaner, but the people are just as rude. The workers and the customers. What is it about Walmart that invites this rudeness? But what surprised me, I mean as in REALLY truly surprised me is that except for a few things, the prices here are in line with Kroger. With all the low price advertising that Walmart does, this really was not expected. Yes, there are a few things that are cheaper, and the majority of those items are the junk food items (chips, cookies, snack cakes, candy, soda, etc). But the health and beauty items were for the most part the same price (except for the makeup itself), the cat food we buy is the same price, and pretty much everything else we buy is the same price, or sometimes even cheaper with a Kroger card. Of course there are some things you need at Walmart that Kroger doesn't carry, but comparing groceries to groceries, I will choose Kroger, or HEB. Walmart's prices just aren't good enough to put up with the empty shelves and the rude people. read more

It's like any other Walmart in America. Big, full of stuff imported from China, and cheap. But here are some of the details of this particular location as I typically shop here about once a week: Pets: They have litter, food, bed, bowls, collars, etc. a lot cheaper than you would pay at Petco and Petsmart, however your toss up is reduced quality. Bowls, collars, toys, beds, definitely a good purchase. Food...depends on what you feed. There are no organic foods but Purina One is fairly decent and always cheaper than grocery stores or pet stores. Lots of wet food for picky eaters. Personal/Cosmetic: Everything is here. I do find their makeup lacking at this particular location and horribly disorganized. I've been making trips to Target for this stuff. Household: Cheap sheets, comforters, chairs, etc. Most of the furniture is flimsy and terrible so purchase with caution. We did get a card table that I use to put puzzles together so it does have purposes but would't look at their furniture for long term uses. Lamps and shelving is not too bad, although the bookshelves do not seem to hold up for long as they are particle board. Cleaners are cheap and plenty of them, including a lot of Hispanic cleaners (Foca Laundry detergent is awesome at getting anything out of clothes). Electronics: We purchased a PS3 from this location. Quick and easy transaction. The game prices are lower for new games anywhere else but we typically just buy used from GameStop. I've also purchased TVs and DVD players all name brands for less than other providers. Food: Hit or miss with the produce. Whatever is in season will be cheaper but sometimes this shows in the appearance. Meat is typically cheaper although I am not a fan of the beef products they sell here, they don't taste right. The aisles have nothing in terms of low-fat, reduced sodium, etc. where as your grocery stores will carry more. There are a few but definitely not the healthiest options on the shelves. Milk and dairy all great buys. The deli is actually fairly decent, a lot cheaper than Kroger and HEB but you do not have as many selections and the quality is a little lower. I prefer Boar's Head which they do not use. Cashiers: I typically use the self-checkouts if they are working. About half work at any given time at this location. If you do have wait in line, the cashiers get you checked out fairly quickly they just never seem to put enough people on register. read more

I had purchased a PlayStation code and immediately went home to redeem it, I was immediately met with an error message saying the code was no longer available and went to check if it had redeemed and it hadn't so I tried three more times to no avail. After that I went to return it with video proof and all they did was point at the number on the card and told me to call it as if I hadn't tried that before. If I could rate it zero stars I would hands down. My friend and I ran in here because while on vacation she forgot to pack her bathing suit and one of her kids sandal straps broke 1st day of our vacation. Upon walking in we were greeted. This particular store is Huge. It was clean and easy to find everything we needed and stuff we didn't need! We took advantage of stopping here and bought our snacks for the hotel room and beach trip. Just before last Christmas ('17), WalMart offered free 48 hour in-store delivery of select online sales items. Inasmuch as their El Dorado store is only 3/4 of a mile from me, I ordered something and thought why not? Deliveries come through the nearest Walmart distribution centre which has the item. Mine just happened to be in Florida. Delivery is made to the store via Fed Ex. My item was sent from Florida but it arrived at the El Dorado store two days late. Once it was in the store WalMart lost it, claiming it was ostensibly somewhere in the store "on a paddock which had not yet been scanned." This went on for two more days. Each time I called to determine status I was either put on hold or the call wasn't answered. A call to corporate HQ customer service in Bentonville for intervention produced the same inexcusably bad, inept level of service. Disgusted, I canceled the order. Today in late March 2018, I took my older model MB to WalMart for an oil charge. Several weeks before I had stopped by their auto department and discovered, as expected, they did not carry the right oil filter for my car. So I bought one from a nearby auto parts store for around $14. My car has an eight cylinder engine which takes 8.5 quarts of oil. At a Benz repair shop this has cost me $80 but I no longer live nearby such places in SW Houston. Standard oil change packages include both a filter and up to 5 qts of oil as a part of the deal. Anything over the allowed 4-5 quarts results in a markup of 200-300%. It's a nice way to pad profits. I reasoned why pay $30 for 3 more quarts when I can buy 3 quarts off the shelf for around $15 and add them myself. Accordingly I told my service rep to add only the 5 qts included in my package deal. Nothing more. After easily a 30-40 minute wait I went to pay for the bill. Then I found I WalMart only gave me a $2.08 credit for bringing my own filter (I had expected a credit of perhaps $5-8 instead) AND their service reps had filled the engine to capacity with 8 quarts of oil, not the 5 qts I specifically requested. Yes, of course, WalMart was trying to charge me a premium price for the extra 3 qts! After a pointed discussion with the service manager over these issues, he relented and offered a gratis oil change. Twice I offered to pay a reasonable cost but he declined to accept. My experience with WalMart is such that if you can walk in, pick something off the shelf and pay for it, you're fine. Involve a human in any way which requires thought or customer service, then you're royally screwed. Also, it's a given I won't be having my oil changed there again. A solid D- or one star rating for this store. PS, If you need to call, you'll be very sorry. read more

This place has worsened over the years. I've lived in the area 20 years plus and shopped here since I was in high school. Just today I was there in the self checkout (because there is never any cashiers at the registers of course ) , when I scanned the plums . A lady comes to me and asked if I scanned my avocados as plums , insinuating that I'm stealing of course. Not only are you forced to scan your own groceries, you are then accused of stealing. This is why HEB and target will always be better than Walmart , because at least they focus on customer service. read more
