I used this as a rest stop and then ended up grabbing a few items. On my way back home I knew I needed to grab a few essentials and since I was a bit further outside the DMV this might be a quick and easy stop. I ran in and did as fast of a once around in here as I could. I wish I would have been able to find a basket to aide in my shopping, but they didn't seem to have any. I made my way up and down the aisles I needed and found myself lost in the aisles at one point. Being in a different store than what you are used to can add a few minutes onto your short shopping trip. I was literally standing in front of the item I wanted and had to keep rescanning the shelves until it jumped out at me. Once I had all my items it was up front for the self checkouts and be on my way. I wanted to make it as quick of an exit as I could. read more

Warning, OUT OF DATE LUNCH MEAT!!! Check the best by date on the Great Value Smoked Ham. We bought ours on Wed. 4/16/25. After tossing a piece in my mouth, (4/19/25) that bad meat taste came through. I checked and found the best used by date of 11/29/24. How Did That Happen? I know it's my bad for not checking the freshness date before buying, but still how was this left on the shelf so long. It's being returned today. As a side note, that same day, the milk shelf was empty. I could see new milk waiting to get loaded behind the refrigerator. This store's new and improved look has turned into 2 steps backward. There is even a choke point of people that stop you from getting to the cash registers. What a lousy design. If I have smaller orders, I go to self checkout. Larger one's is with a cashier. I always put the items that don't need a bag in front and politely tell the cashier and add please pack them heavy. Usually not a problem. Today I was with cashier, Sarah terminal # 55779308 on 12/29/25 at 13:08:11. She looked at me like I was crazy and proceeded checking out she packed a heavy bag and did a double bag. I told her that was not necessary. She said the bag will break and my groceries will be ruined. I said in all my years I've never had it happened. She continued to run her mouth and said she only works there. Really? Made an appointment a day in advance to have my vehicle serviced. Nothing major. Oil change, tire rotation and balance (which has been terrible since they installed the tires) and replace the tire pressure monitoring sensors. After almost two hours the only thing they did was change the oil and told me the rest of the work wasn't on the work order. Totally ridiculous. If you can't find competent employees to run your service department then shut it down. The woman that scheduled the appointment originally needs to be removed from that job and relocated to another department. Never again. read more

The assistant management staff at the store, particularly those at the front end watching registers, were very rude. It was 10:30 PM when I heard, "ma'am, excuse me, ma'am." I turned around to see what was wrong. The staff member said, "I want you to know that we close in 30 minutes, so make sure you finish up your shopping and start checking out." However, I still had half an hour before closing. When I pointed this out, she responded with, "I know, but you'd be surprised how many people are still shopping at 11 o'clock." I then stated, "But it's not 11 o'clock. You haven't made any announcements over the intercom. Why are you pushing me out the door now?" Her tone and delivery were extremely rude. On the other hand, the staff on the floor, stocking shelves, were very kind, respectful, and helpful. The front end staff need to follow the example set by the floor staff. read more

This Walmart is a mess, and it was a mess before Covid, so there's no excuse. Despite Virginia having mask mandates and despite the store having signs that says employees are required to wear masks, most employees either wear them incorrectly or not at all. One employee (I think her name is Rosalind or something similar) walks around with a TRUMP 2020 mask. I can't believe that she's allowed to wear a political mask. She's rude and always acts like she hates everyone. Another cashier is a very thin young man with very long, stringy hair. He looks like he just rolled out of bed and didn't brush his hair. I can't believe management doesn't make him pull his hair back. It's extremely difficult to find anyone if you need help, and you don't know who the manager is without asking because none of them look professional enough to be managers. You often have to wander the store just to find someone to check on an item or unlock it. The pharmacy is usually great, but I called today only to find out the pharmacy is closed for three days. There were no notices or emails to let anyone know ahead of time, and it was hard to get anyone in the rest of the store to answer a phone so we could find out why the pharmacy was closed. We finally got in touch with the eyeglass department, who said that they had lost their license and couldn't get a pharmacist from any other location to work at the Front Royal store. If they aren't following Covid protocols and the pharmacy is having it's license pulled, just how safe are we as customers, to shop there? It's disturbing and appalling. read more

I just went there and the store was so hot. Very hot. So, I purchased a game and immediately noticed it wasn't closed properly, so I went back to exchange it. I missed customer service by minutes and I asked before I went over there if they were open. I was snapped at and told she didn't know. By the time I got there, I was out of breath because of the heat. Two nasty employees over there told me nope they wouldn't help me and they wouldn't exchange it, even though I literally just bought it. I said ok I'm gonna stand here for a minute to catch my breath and they were nasty about that. I told a manager it was hot in there and asked if the doors near customer service were locked and they were. I told the first nasty employee how rude everyone had been and the manager heard it all and just glared at me. Then I said well it's Walmart and left. I won't shop there anymore. Yet again, Walmart always finds a new way to disappoint. Very nice cashier rang up my groceries. Then the register went off line. A supervisor came over and didn't know how to fix. Said I would have to go to another register and have groceries rung up again. I asked for the manager. I felt that was very inconvenient as I had already waited in line once. Manager said same thing. Have to ring it all up again. They couldn't take the total of my purchase to another register and just let me pay. Lesson learned on my part. I'm done with Walmart. On Thursday October 6th I arrived a little after 9 to pick up a online order. A boy came out before I even called, didn't bother to ask who I was to make sure he was giving the order to the correct person. I noticed the two yoohoo packs , coke pack and dr.pepper pack so new it was mine. I said hi how are you with no responce, helped him load it then said thank you have a good evening again with no responce. Walmart needs to do a better job with hiring employees, I know they are desperate for help but hiring employees that do not acknowledge the customer at all and just giving orders out and not verifying that order is thiers is not a good way to do business. read more

Every time I go to this Walmart, there is always someone with a dirty dog walking around the grocery section. Today (8/17/2023) I saw a man with a dirty shepherd on a filthy leash that definitely was not a service dog. I approached an employee and told her. She spoke to someone above her and that person said "people are allowed to bring pets in that aren't service dogs. The dog I saw today looked like it hadn't had a bath in months. And hair was flying around everywhere. I saw him by the meat section of Walmart. I immediately left all my food item's I had. Ive spoke to health department and they said this is NOT ALLOWED! But, Walmart didn't want to do anything about this. Ive had so many problems at this Walmart. A while back, an employee almost ran my 6yo daughter over with one of those carts they use to pick grocery order's because he had earphones in and was jogging down the aisle and wasn't able to stop the loaded cart. I also brought this to management attention, and they didn't even talk to the guy because I saw him a week later doing the same thing. We stopped here to load up on camping supplies. There's so much stuff at this Walmart! The most amazing find was that they sell tropical fish here. We didn't buy any for our camping trip, but if we needed tropical fish, this would be an option. The shopping areas of the store were lean and well stocked. Nice selection of fresh food, packaged food, and alcohol. All things we needed for our trip. The store would have gotten 4 stars, but on my way out I stopped in the bathroom. Way different experience there. The stall I was in had a bunch of used pregnancy kits on the floor. Gross. And why were there pregnancy kits in a guys bathroom?! read more

I'm very disappointed in how they are very few checkouts open and all of the self checkouts get so backed up at times and most of the time they have numerous employees just standing around waiting, I asked for help at one , one time and the young lady refused to check me out , said that she would teach me , I said I don't work here ! That these registers were for a quick in and out self serve . So I left my cart and walked out of the store! I like Target better but they don't have as good of a selection but I make do. Martins is all the way across town for me and packed . Every once in awhile I prefer to shop at Giant when I'm in Warrenton, I just carry a small cooler and freezer bags . This place has always been below average every time I've visited but during covid it's just awful. Not only do customers choose not to wear masks but a large majority of employees don't care to correctly wear their masks. Literally every single time I've been forced to shop here I've had to ask an employee to pull up their mask and at every visit an employment gets an attitude with me for doing so either by verbally telling me something, an eye roll or just walking off. Yesterday I was shopping and after asking no less than 5 Walmart employees to pull up their masks I made it to check out where the lady had her mask all the way down. It was a Trump 2020 mask which I have no idea why the employees are allowed to wear (I would never be able to walk into my place of business flaunting my political beliefs), I asked her to pull up her mask and she responded with "oh do you like it?" My response was "no, but can you please pull it up?" She responded with "I don't have to listen to this". I talked to someone from management and they seemed like they could care less. There is a current Virginia requirement to wear masks in public venues. Walmart in Front Royal has a sign when you walk in that reminds shoppers of the requirement, and indeed the sign says Patrons and Associates are required to wear masks and socially distance. I walk in and immediately see people everywhere without masks. I asked an employee why these people are walking around, she said "...because Walmart is scared to death they'll lose a customer, but they don't care about us or the other customers who do follow the rules." So, if you're feeling lucky...go for it. But if you believe we're in the middle of a deadly pandemic and masks and distance save lives...stay the hell away from this store. read more

Walmart has the worst grocery pu of many local grocery stores. You will undoubtedly get robbed. You will receive subpar to horrible fresh produce and likely not receive orders. Store is always understaffed. Machines and tech break constantly. 9 times out of 10 there are no carts available in the vestibules. Customers get into fistfights or shouting matches with other customers. Employees are not properly trained. Managers don't give 2 cents about their employees or customers. SO MUCH STEALING and scamming takes place at this particular store and nobody does a thing to stop it. Most customers look like they regularly use meth or crack. read more

my family spends probably $1000 a month their. Bought a ONN computer key board and mouse there.$18 & change. lasted 3 weeks and died. Took it back. Let's put politics aside and appreciate Walmart for what it has to offer. This location is a super-Walmart, so It's a one-stop shop for food and all that other stuff you need to buy. Yes, I am happy because I didn't have the supers back in the city, just basic old-school Walmart, and had to make a separate trip to the grocery store. I like this location better than Winchester. It's much less crowded, it's clean, and usually well-stocked. There are some very nice cashiers, too. And as with all Walmarts, it's good for people-watching! read more

It's a super, so there is a whole area for groceries, a place to get t-shrits when you are staying with you family and their septic goes and you can't do laundry, a new star for your christmas tree, and ear plugs! They have it all! I didn't need any help from any staff, and i didn't see any. They do have the tobacco aisle weirdly in the center of all the check outs - and being that far out, there were many in that line, we just thought it looked short... sadly no... Do not order delivery. I have had my groceries delivered a few times, the last two have ended horribly. First a third of my $200 order was delivered, how the person delivering it could not tell most of the order was missing is beyond me, an order that would have had at least 10 bags came with one? This last time, I am waiting an hour after the order is supposed to be delivered check the tracker and it says it is on its way, wait longer, call in and I'm told that the order was canceled because everything that was on it was out of stock. Funny, when we decide to run up there to get something quick for dinner because our groceries never showed, everything on our order can be found on the shelves. These people just don't want to do their job. Most of the employees there are lazy and snotty. If you want to be double charged, or charged for orders that don't come or come missing huge amounts then by all means waste your money, you are better off paying more at Martin's, at least they have their sh** together. read more

This is one of the worst walmarts in the area. Shelves are constantly bare and this evening (Saturday) they have 2 cashiers to service the entire store. When I asked a CSM if they could open more registers, I was told that they only had 2 cashiers. How do you open a super center with 2 cashiers? Aldi is far better! read more
