This Walmart was opened 30 years after I moved away and in all my visits over time I'd not checked it out. On my recent visit I needed a few essential items and it was close to my motel so I made it there to shop Wally World Gastonia.  This Walmart Supercenter is located at 3000 E Franklin Blvd is a local shopping hot spot. Since its opening in 2004, the store has been providing a wide range of products and services at Wally World pricing.  Like most Supercenters in they have the exlected vast selection of goods, including groceries, electronics, home appliances, clothing, baby products, and more. In addition to its extensive product offerings, the store provides other services including: *Pharmacy: The Walmart Pharmacy offers prescription drugs, vaccinations, and other health services. I was just in this Walmart they have really cleaned up the look of this Walmart. Although it is nice to look at there needs to be some improvement on staff or just get rid of the bad apples. I was in the customer service line and this employee Elisa is very rude and nasty. I even went up a second time after walking through the store to get clarification to my question because she was so short with me. I will not be at this Walmart again. Updating my first to review on this Walmart from nearly ten years and 12000 reviews ago and I have to say, this store still sucks. We're in the COVID age now (August 2020) and people are supposed to be wearing masks. The store has very clear signage but at least a third of the folks I saw walked right past the greeter who said not a thing. I don't expect them to confront or stop people, but a "Sir, you really should be wearing a mask. It's the law." would go some distance. The grocery section was fairly well stocked. Some items out, some items full. All of the aisles have arrows marked for one-way shopping but no one seemed to be following the signage. Two of the items on my list, they had either one or none of them. Oh, and my cart still had a noisy wheel. So between the store condition and the horrible shoppers, I'm dropping this one to a "Methinks not." Spend a few extra bucks and go to Publix or Harris Teeter. This is a poor shopping experience. Popped in with my mom to pick up an order she had placed for work. For two days before thanksgiving, it wasn't really that crowded. The pick up area is also the layaway area. One customer was fussing about her layaway while we were there but the management seemed polite and competent. Our pickup was quick. But we should have checked the boxes before leaving. Several items were missing. A quick phone call cleared that up but another trip will be necessary. Pleasantly surprised by how well staffed and uncrowded it was. read more

WALMART STOLE FROM ME. Horrifying, upsetting, frustrating experience. On 12/21/24 I submitted a pick up order store #1385 only for groceries because I was unable to shop for myself do to a collision the day before. My pick time was 6pm to 7pm. In the app it told me to notify them when I arrive for my pick up. I arrived at 6:17 pm. I follow steps in the app and waited. About 10 mins later app notified me that my order was pickup. I tried calling in the store no one answer. The called the 1800 number. Spoke to a supervisor she called no one answer. She advised me to walk in the store I was unable to do that. She escalated my situation to review team. She then told me to try to make contact with the store. For 3 days I tried no one answer finally I made contact someone pick up and I explained the situation again and they stated its no their problem call 1800 num. I responded i fid and they repeatedly kept saying call the 1800 number then hung up. I had to call several times after because they kept denying it. Meanwhile, my kids and I had no food for the holidays and the didn't refund any funds until I was advise to call the cops on 12/28/24. Didn't offer any accommodations or a reorder. It is fairly big and well stocked Half is grocery and house items and the other side is clothing and the usual stuff The food is fresh and they have all the usual things. Don't look for gourmet but you already know that The electronic section in the back is also the usual stuff. Stock varies. Hit or miss I do like the pharmacy. They are very professional. This place deserves zero stars, absolutely the worst Walmart I've ever been to by far. The employees are rude and ignorant ghetto very unprofessional. Certain products are locked, which is understandable. Still, when I asked if someone could unlock the enclosure so I could obtain a specific item, none of the employees seemed to have a key. This older employee called for someone to help me, but I had to ask him three or four times; a lady at checkout couldn't ring up one of the items I was trying to purchase. Instead of getting a price check, she wanted me to walk back and check the price myself. This Walmart should go through a complete reset and hire better employees because if you have negative people representing the Walmart brand like this, then you lose business. This particular Walmart is a bit old/outdated with older fixtures and lighting. It could really use a remodel. The parking lot is a weirdly designed jigsaw puzzle . There were half dead Christmas trees with half their needles out front marked on clearance. I'm hitting all the Wal--Marts, and truly folks they are all the same. I wanted to get a cap, (I left mine back at home on the table in IL and I was in NC). The layout of this far away Wally-world is basic - just like all the others. Things appeared to be picked over - of course, especially if you looking for end of season items - then the pickings are slim as well... But I found a cap after some hunting. Paid a fair price for the quality and was quickly on my way. The check-out wasn't anything to write home about. Service with a smile, which is nice. I don't know where to even start. Yes, I like going to Walmart to get better prices then local grocery stores. Ok, let's start off with electronics. There is this one older woman with white/gray hair that is absolutely obnoxious. We asked her some questions on an electronic item because we didn't know about the product. She basically told us that we should do our research and come back when we were ready to purchase. REALLY??? Needless to say, we bought that specific item elsewhere AND the item was explained to us without an attitude. Photo center: Your lucky if you can find anyone at that counter. A sign is always there telling you to walk to electronics to get someone, in which "someone" is always busy with other customers. Three times they have lost my photos or cannot find them. One time they called me a week later saying it was behind the draw and they didn't know how it got there. Cashiers: Eh, some are friendly, some not friendly at all. I've noticed and several of my friends have noticed "favoritism" (more friendly, smiling, more helpful etc.) to certain customers. I really don't have an issue with check outs and wait times, but when the management team see's 6-10 people in each line, they, the managers need to step in and do some check outs. Clientele: OMG is this a teen hang out? I know Walmart has no control of their patrons, but GESH, can not anyone control these kids from running around the store, loud, playing with toys, throwing balls etc.? No their parents are not with them. Drives me NUTS how disrespectful these teens are. I'm not sure exactly what part of Walmart repulses me; the horrible crowd of shoppers it attracts (leisurely browsing isles, talking loudly on cell phones while blocking everyone in a rush to get by) the employes who would clearly rather be anywhere else or the ONE (!!!!) open register to serve 1,500 people standing in line, but seriously, I will go in ANY direction, but the local Walmart. This is the worst WalMart I have ever been to! I went shopping there with my daughter but I went to check out I realized that I had forgotten my wallet. I asked if I could go it and the cashier assured me that she would just suspend my purchase and it would be there when I got back to the store. IT WASN'T! What's to say? A WalMart is a WalMart is a WalMart. They are all large, multi-department, superstores. This particular store remodeled about a year ago so don't expect to automatically "know" where things are. It's really strange with the shoes in the center of the store with little or no appreciable understandable flow from one department to another. Don't expect it to be comfortable or quick to try on shoes, especially if trying to buy any for children. Even as awkward as the "new" layout is, it isn't nearly as bizarre as the layout at the new Lake Wylie WalMart. There isn't a link to comment on that one on this site. The prices in Lake Wylie are MUCH better overall than those in NC but plan to be confused and allow extra time to fiind your way around. Better to visit the LW store when you simply have time to browse and not in a hurry or in need of something specific. I suppose it's a trend in WalMarts.....change everything around and confuse the customers into buying things not on their lists. But, as I've said....WalMart is WalMart. read more
