9/23/20 Walmart, Grants Pass, OR. My friend sent me money through Walmart's money transfer. When I went to pick it up, the woman at the window (Gail) Started by asking me the usual things like transfer #, name and ID, phone # and who is sending it, but then it got personal. Gail wanted to know why he was sending the money. That startled me, and I said, "HE IS MY FRIEND" Then Gail asked me what I was going to do with it, and I lost it and said, you don't have a right to ask me that, she informed me it was for fraud and Walmart will fire her if she does not ask these (PERSONAL) questions. I just blurted out, "HE IS MY FRIEND" so Gail tapped away and eventually canceled the transaction, so the sender had to re-send. Gail said it was a computer malfunction, "I SAY OTHERWISE" During the process, I may have referred to her as a Democrat only because I thought snowflake was a little harsh. Normally I would walk away. I think I have three posts on YELP in all the years, this being the third. But I had to tell the sender what happened. The sender informed me he, was questioned and he said, "HE IS MY FRIEND" The sender ended up using GOOGLE PAY, NO HASSEL. ***************************SARCASAM BELOW****************************** Gail, you're not a cop and neither, is Walmart and for you to ask me personal questions is uncalled for unless you were going to slip me a fiver after you found out the money was to pay bills I could not afford to pay myself. I should have known better. Tempted by the $20 price difference between the local sporting goods store just across the parking lot, I broke my own "no Walmart" rule. I purchased an $80 air rifle, hoping or brush up on my shooting skills in time for hunting season. I purchased the gun, drove straight home and unboxed my new purchase, anxious to get started. Unfortunately, immediately I mop opening the box I could tell something was wrong. The barrel of the gun was visibly bent. I put all the packaging back together and rushed back to Walmart, eager to make an exchange and get shooting. I brought the gun, back in its original packaging with my receipt thinking I had all my bases covered. The clerk at the return counter told me that guns were not returnable. I said that that was ok, I hadn't changed my mind. I just wanted to exchange the gun for an untamable one and get on my way. No she says. Guns are not returnable. I patiently explained that I was looking to return the gun, I just wanted one that wasn't damaged. I had no opportunity to inspect the weapon before leaving the store and apparently no opportunity to return damaged merchandise. I politely asked for the manager thinking that this was just a mixup. I presumed I was just dealing with an employee misinterpreting a rule. Instead, the manager confirmed what the clerk had said. Upon delivering the ridiculous news he then looked at me and smiled and sarcastically said, "have a good day sir." He continued repeating it, speaking over the top of me as I tried to explain that o wasn't looking for a refund, only a replacement of damaged merchandise. After the third time I left the store sure any kind of confrontation was unnecessary, despite the rude manager. I went to my car in the parking lot and called their 800 "customer service" number thinking that they would call the store and explain that ruining a customer relationship over this issue is insane. Nope. Same response. Sorry we called the manager and there's nothing he can do. Bottom line: if you're looking to purchase potentially damaged and unreturnable stuff and get treated like trash along the way I would enthusiastically enforce this store. Otherwise, their direct competitors are very nearby in town and are very happy to have your business. read more

I wanted to return an item I ordered on line. The online seller ignored the cancellation and shipped the item anyway. I went to the Grants Pass store to return item only to find they can't take it because they've not had a printer to print a shipping label for weeks and don't know when it might arrive. This is totally unacceptable and unprofessional. I called the 800 number to get this rectified and they were not helpful either. They can't send a shipping label because its a Marketplace item. So I'm stuck with the item until the local store gets a printer and no one knows when that might be. Are we in the Dark Ages read more

The Wal-Mart in Medford on Center is just ridiculous. Who runs this store? They close the garden section with all the Holiday shopping stuff at 4:00 when people are just starting to come in and get off work!!! During the Christmas shopping time!! Who does that!! It's your average Walmart super center. They have just about everything you need at a decent price and a decent quality. Many options of pre-packaged national brands. I do like this place for a quick pick up of items and knick knacks. We wouldn't buy anything here for its quality but certainly for its convenience. For quality I would give it two stars for price I would give it three stars for efficiency and convenience I would give it five stars. Overall I would give it three and a half stars, but I settle for three stars. The self checkout was pretty efficient. read more

I'm standing in line at the electronics department and how is it that the people behind me then the people at the side of me we're getting helped before me and I'm in line and I am totally being ignored by Caucasian cashier men o1 of the guys in a ponytail and they're completely ignored me sounds like prejudism to me I went and got a manager she did help me and I asked her to look at the camera so she can see how bluntly they just left me standing in line while they helped other customers this is such BS just thought everybody should know about Walmart if you feel like you're being disrespected it can only be the color of your skin only because I did not say one word until I noticed what they were doing and then I said something out loud to them and to the people in line. I hate Walmart with a fiery passion. This location is pretty bad. I've been here on a few instances out of desperation. There's always shady characters hanging around. The parking lot is scary. Especially after dark. There's always people sleeping in their cars and people looking for stuff to steal. You'd have to be crazy to come here after dark without a weapon. I avoid Walmart at all costs. When everything else is closed it's the only option. If it's late at night and you can't find what you need at winco, then it serves a purpose. I was happy with the service from the Walmart Deliveries until yesterday. I didn't get my food stamps until the 6th but we were out of food so I placed a small order, on the 4th about $30 worth, to be delivered yesterday between 1-2, this is now the 6th and still the order hasn't been delivered. After numerous phone calls I found out that every driver they gave my order to refused it, one saying they only want deliveries that they make money on. So forget about people that don't have lots of money to spend. They don't even call to tell you there's a problem. I called 3 times yesterday and 4 times today. I placed a large order for tomorrow and was told I would get both at that time! I understand you work for tips but just because it's a small order doesn't mean it's right to blow us off! read more

Yesterday I went in to look at PC monitors it was around 6 in the evening and it wasn't to busy. I asked a employee about a specific model and if the had them in stock. He showed me one that obviously wasn't the right one, but insisted it was. He was wrong, at check out the price was 50 bucks more and the wrong size. The lady who checked me out said she would walk over with me to see if it was in stock. She got distracted by another employee and I waited 10 min and occasionally making eye contact with one of the 4 employees wondering around the check out stand aimlessly. Finally I was getting frustrated so I asked a employee who was walking by and he said "I do don't electronics, go find someone who does and laughed". So I asked a guy if he could help me and he seemed stand-offish and seemed like he didn't want to be working with me. Likewise for me he seemed like a real peach "sarcasm intended". I asked the original lady about 20 min later after I got a "I don't know" from the other guy. She's said she would take a look in the back for a PC monitor. I watched as she walked around and then 2 min later she came back and told the others she was going home for the day. That was the last anyone helped or attempted to help me. Next time I'll save myself the time and spend a little more going to fredmyers where they are professional and want to be helpful. read more

DO NOT SEE THE OPTOMETRIST HERE!! Highly recommend you do not go to Dr. Fiske for your eyes. I saw him once before, and he remembered that I have a habit of leaving my contacts in. The first thing he did was ask me if was going to follow his plan and take my contacts out after 10 hours or not. I told him not likely because I have very long and busy days. He then told me he could do a glasses exam, so I said, no I won't wear my glasses because I hate them, I want to wear contacts like I have since I was a teenager. I was not rude, I was just firm because he was pushing it and being rude. He proceeded to tell me that if I couldn't promise him I would follow his contact schedule that I could get out of his office and find a new doctor. He then proceeded to literally (and EXTREMELY rudely) eject me from his office & refused to treat me...IN FRONT OF MY FOUR YEAR OLD. Really? Because I refused to lie and say I would promise to take my contacts out every 10 hours!? What a power trip!!! How is that even any of his business what I do in my personal life? Auto Center changed the oil, and 25 miles later the oil leaked out, and a cloud of black smoke leaked out from under the hood. I called Walmart, and they refused to tow the car to the store, nor to a mechanic. I ended up having Caveman Towing tow the car to Bridgestreet Automotive. I think they had a homeless person change my oil, who obviously isn't sufficiently trained. i recommend avoiding Walmart for any oil changes. For whatever it is worth, none of the independent oil change places are decent in Grants Pass. All are super expensive, and almost universally try to sell you conventional oil, even if your car isn't rated for it. I bought a I-Phone 6 at WalMart back in June 2019 then I bought a Straight Talk card...I was looking for a quick hook-up (I needed time to think about other plans) as I was leaving to Seattle immediately for a month or more. On my StraightTalk card it says "No-contract 3 months 90-day Plan, talk, text,data". So when I went to port or change my plan after the 3 months were over...they (straight Talk) would not do it (my phone is locked by them) and said I have to use the phone for a year....this is not a 3 month contract!!!! This is a year contract!!!! This is a huge rip off and false advertising. & WalMart will not help me so buyer beware...Do not buy straight talk cards or better yet do not buy from WalMart!!! we always stop at the Grants Pass store to get our oil changed when we drive over from the coast. Yesterday we stopped in on our way home and kind of in a hurry cause we didn't want to drive home in the dark. we ask the guy how long. first, he said we would have to pay extra cause they didn't have our oil filter and he said 30 minutes, so we went in the store and looked around and then came back to the waiting room. I ask my husband if he heard my name called yet. I went outside to see if it was parked in the back. They hadn't even started it and when I looked where he had me park, there were mega tires piled in there. Won't go back. We went down the street. It cost a lot more but good Mexican speaking service. Good prices. Parking lot was not clean and there were shopping carts all around ana the cart corrals were all full. The inside of the store was fairly clean except for the rest rooms, which were dirty (toilets and floor). The shelves were not full and some items were stocked wrong or missing the right price tags. And to make it worse the girl that waited on me told me it would only take 5 days to get them and it is now 11 days later and still have not received them, wouldn't be that bad if I hadn't already paid for them. Went to the deli section 9/9 and waited while the clerk helped a couple. The clerk looked over and saw that I was waiting. The young man cleaning the machine never turned around and asked if I needed help. Then to my dismay, when the clerk was finished with the couple she went to help two women who had arrived after I did. I asked the young man if she was the only person working the deli. He went over to her and told her I needed help. She came over to me and said "They were here first, but I can help you". I said no, the women were not here first and reminded her that she had looked my way more than once. This is not the first time I've been treated with disrespect because of my non-white look even though I'm more than half white! I told her never mind, don't bother. I did report the incident to the customer service manager. I can't believe that in this day and age this is still happening. Walmart needs to train their people to treat everyone no matter their color or race with respect.
