Placed an order thru online grocery pickup. It was schedule to be ready for pickup between 2:00 and 3:00. We received a message it was ready. We checked in at 3:07 and waited. And waited. After 30 minutes we started calling to find out when we could expect them to bring the order. After 57 minutes of waiting in the parking lot our groceries arrived. This time at Walmart was pretty good. And if you know me, you know I can't stand going into Walmart. Even if it IS cheaper lol. But tonight, I wanted a personal blender and just KNEW it'd be way cheaper here than Target. So I braved Walmart solo at 6pm. It turned out alright. I was able to use the Walmart app to locate the blender aisle and then the aisle with protein powder as well!!!! The app was truly the star of the show lol. I was able to walk right up to a self checkout as someone else finished up. It was easy and convenient to check out this way. Usually I hate self check out but with only three items and no line... honey it was a life saver. I'm pleased with my product as I'm drinking a delicious smoothie right now from my Hamilton Beach personal blender and used Equate Vanilla protein powder made from quinoa and pea powder. Walmart has great prices, and an enormous amount of items. However, I'm older, have health issues, and a young grandson, so I rarely go there. Instead, I use Walmart Plus. They shop for you, and deliver your groceries! We just order online, and choose a delivery time, and location. They contact you if they are out of a particular item, to see if you'd like a substitute. If there's anything missing or damaged, they credit your account. I thought it would be helpful shopping online with them, during Covid. But I had no idea how much money I would save. All those impulse buys, were a thing of the past, and ordering from home it was easier to see what ingredients I already had. So I could make sure I'd have meals, not just separate items. read more

I stop by here around 9 AM on a Friday morning to get some training pads for my dog. He went to the vet yesterday and he was prescribed some medication to help with some inflammation. A side effect of that medication, unbeknownst knows to me, is increased thirst and urination. Yesterday and today he's urinated in the house by the door, which is something that he does not typically do. To avoid this, I figured I would just get some training pass because the only alternative is to leave him outside as I don't want to clean up pee 2x a day. Inside, it was not very busy. I had looked up the training pads via the Walmart app prior to my arrival, so I do exactly where they were. There were several choices and I just chose the one with a low count and high absorption. I utilized self check out and there was a short wait. I was in and out in a decent amount of time. Surprisingly, I didn't browse like I normally do. I can spend way more time and money than I need to when I got Walmart, lol. read more

I've been generally very happy with Walmart's grocery pickup service during this pandemic. This location has offered the best experience of several Walmarts in the Greensboro area, but last weekend was a huge let-down. We had an ice storm leading to a prolonged outage of power on the Saturday before my scheduled pick up the next day. I waited until my usual pickup time and was never notified to pick up my groceries. I called the phone number listed online for the Battleground Ave Walmart and kept getting immediately disconnected. I called the pharmacy and was told the store had lost all of its cold food and beverages. I continued to try to connect with the store throughout the day, long after my morning pickup time. I received no text or email notifications, I received no phone calls or information in the app about rescheduling my pickup and eventually canceled my order through the texting option on the app. It seemed like the company didn't feel like fielding my concerns and answering my questions. I work in customer service and understand how to comport myself when plans change. I don't scream and yell and didn't intend to get angry at the person who might answer the phone. I realize that outages aren't anyone's fault. However, the fact that I had to do all the leg work just to get some information about this situation and later had to change my plans and pickup from Harris Teeter instead (I like them, but they are very pricey!) was very disappointing. If Walmart can't figure out how to tactfully notify its customers of inconveniences like this, then I will probably have to go elsewhere for my groceries. read more

While this may be one of the cleaner Walmart stores in our area, I will never be able to give it more than one star. Gary, Charlie Elks and Ben deserve a star and that's literally it! Simply put, why should I have to work harder than the people who are literally PAID to be there? The lady "monitoring" self check out leaning casually against the water bottles while I rang up my own cart full, as the only 2 check out lanes were 10 customers deep. It's not easy to review Walmart because there are so many facets to it. The pharmacy is top notch with helpful and kind people. The lines are never too long either. The supermarket is a different story. Whenever I pick up food I always check the date because sometimes the food is months old. But then again, sometimes it isn't and on some items the prices are great Also, I never buy dog food there because of a bad experience. My dog got sick one day after I picked up a bag there. She kept getting sick and finally I checked the bag. The food's date was a year old. Keep in mind that dog food's dates last for years. I returned it and while I was there I checked other bags. They had fresh ones and old ones. Walmart has a great return policy. They will take back anything, even video games, which almost never happens. So as you can see, it's a very mixed review. I only go to this Walmart because of the high cost of food and home supplies these days. I can't beleive that they have at least 5 employees standing around talking or on their phones while all the customers have to ring up and bag their own groceries. Don't bother complaining to a manager they are as useless as their employees. If I had a choice I would ban shopping from this store but unfortuantely like many who shop here I have a limited income. There always seems to be a thousand cars in the parking lot, but I've never spent more than 10 minutes waiting at the checkout line. Let me start this review off by saying I generally didn't like Walmart ever and this Walmart used to give me a reason to give them a chance, however in the past 2-3 years this Walmart has gone downhill even after receiving a couple of cosmetic upgrades. All of the familiar faces of this store have mostly left and those were the people that genuinely cared about the store and their job. You still have reliable Gary and Ben, but the rest of the store is just a bunch of lousy employees. You'll often find them flocked together somewhere in the store instead of being on the ALWAYS empty registers, which in turn forces people to crowd the self checkout area. We are in the middle of a pandemic and they think that not having registers open to distance people is a good idea???? Worst management and service ever! I will not shop there ever again. Dirty store with trash laying all over the floor. Manager has an attitude problem. Waited 30 minutes to get fabric cut while 10 employees walked passed me without offering any help. A customer in the store offered his help but shouldn't have to since it isn't his job. When I told the manager about the problem she tried to tell me I was in the wrong. Big mistake considering I have been in customer service since I was 16 years old. Today the entire store had 2 lanes w clerks to check you out. The self check out had 3 attendants to help, so it steered us all to self check out. The line to self checkout was long curving around and down by the jewelry. At the self check out, I bought quite a bIt of groceries and some plants. One of my plants, a rose would not scan. I stood there with my rose for a good 10 mins. I asked the 3 attendants for help but they just looked at one another as if to say, it's her job. I told the 3 I need some help, and they continued to stand there looking at each other. I said to them, ok I will leave the rose. Then one of them got up and helped another customer, but no one would help me. I looked at the two of them and said I will leave the rose again, making eye contact and directing the comment to them. It was apparent I was talking to no one. So I checked our and left the rose. Another lady left a notebook, another frozen food. Another one left their entire cart. In addition to the lines and less than excited clerks, the shelves were very nearly empty with many of the items I had on my list And mostly empty shelves. Something happened at my Walmart visit for glucose strips. My insurance company said I could not get them until five days later but I was out now due to prescription complications. The pharmacist told me to wait and she would try to talk to the company. She spend her busy time talking to them for me. Wow, are you kidding! Workers are rude and uninviting. My friend and I tried to go by there to get 2 cases of water at around 11:30. We proceeded inside and the doors to the entrance were locked. Us along with other automata where confused because online and on the door it states that they close at 11. We then walk into the exit side where two workers stood and looked at us. One lady then told everyone that they closed at 11 while we were grabbing a cart. There was no way for us to get past the registers with the shopping carts, as all the lanes were blocked off. We looked at the now three ladies standing by the door to see if they would assist us but they continued to stare and talked amount themselves. The customer service at this store is unacceptable and the worst I've experienced !! The employees are unhelpful. They do not answer their phone. Ever !! They have handicapped people sitting outside waiting for motorized scooters only to find out that it's been months that they have several not working!!!! When you see there is a need, why do you have a laid back approach to repairing your scooters for the disabled ??? There is one man in the front of the store that is so rude and arrogant. After going to the VA Optical shop in Kernersville to get glasses repaired, the VA said they couldn't repair them and gave me a card to an outside repair facility. For Greensboro Walmarts, this is my number two favorite, the first being the Carolina Circle location. Since the remodel last summer, product selection has greatly improved, and the cleanliness has gone up tenfold. But, it was my least favorite Walmart, and still is for a few reasons. Like others have said, getting out of this Walmart parking lot is a chore, especially if you need to go south on Battleground. You have to be Frogger from the old arcade game, as cars come zooming from both sides on Cotswald Terrace, making it hard to get out because of the hill. Also, the employees don't have a clue. I ordered several items from their website, and returned them to the store. The clerk, with her belly hanging out in 40 degree weather, could not fathom why the order total and return total were different. I explained she only returned four of the five items, and so she voided the whole transaction (which required waiting on a manager to key in their approval- when it took fifteen minutes for said manager to get to the service desk), then she started over, scanning one item twice cause her nail broke, so we had to await another manager for another void. Then she realized I had paid by both credit card, and a gift card, and did not know how to return the split payment, so we had to wait for the manager yet again. I was in line there for a good hour to return five items. By the time I left, the return line was wrapped through all the designated space and out towards the door. But, because of its great location to other businesses and medical offices, I seem to frequent it the most, as their clearance areas are always filled with great goodies. For instance, I got a Playtex bra for $0.12 yesterday, plus tax! It had been marked $18.99. Like any Walmart, the help acts dumb and stoned, and never know how to behave, think, dress, or bathe. Lots of shelves are empty of common items, which is frustrating. Yesterday, there wasn't a single frozen potato item in the store, and nobody knew when the frozen sweet potato hash browns would be back in stock. No fries, tater tots, hash browns, etc, anywhere! I wish that companies would hire a better class of workers that cared about their jobs, and could at least dress the part, and answer questions. But, with their low prices, great bargains, and usually large inventory, I'm a sucker and keep going back! But, the parking lot has been the scene of muggings, rapes, at least one shooting, etc, over the last thirty years of it being open. So, as a woman, I try to take notice of everything, and avoid going at night. The parking lot is always filled with cars, and while that should be comforting, it is more to take in and worry about. Just be careful, patient, and not in a hurry if you are going to visit this Walmart, or any other Walmart for that matter. Keeping a positive attitude and a smile on your face can get you through the worst of them. read more

Some employees are unfriendly and unhelpful. I asked them to guide me to a particular item - they told me to look around at the Home section and if it's there, it's there. Other employees are more willing to help. Their grocery items are good but you have to be careful of their hardware products - they could be scratched and scuffed even when you buy them 'new in box'. Wonder how many of these are customer returns from unscrupulous people who use them and then return them. Walmart does have a long term return policy which is not good for honest people. Suggestions: Walmart should train their employees better. And reduce the return policy window to a week or 2 maximum and make sure returns are not stocked as 'new' in order to ensure the quality of the products they are selling. read more

For the past five years I go to Walmart only WHEN DESPERATE. The service is terrible, the shelves are bare in the grocery with boxes sitting in aisles while employees congregate and talk. Most of the youngsters that check you out are unfriendly and in a hurry. Only those senior ones are even concerned about helping. I don't know where to start with this Walmart. I live nearby and have been here plenty of times and I gotta say I try not to go here unless I have to. I feel like a veteran for shopping here so many times and seeing so many things. I've seen it all from someone shot gunning a beer in the appliance isle to a people shoving candy in there britches. And well the staff there is unbelievably undereducated about any type of effective work ethic. If you ask for help you will most likely be met with a stupid and lethargic employee with no sense of helpful customer service. Most of the items I have purchased there have been dented or broken in some type of way wether it be crushed chips or a pre-opened bottle of shampoo.
