This is by far one of the worst Walmart's around here. I have had many bad experiences at this particular location but what happened last night while shopping at this Walmart drew the line for me. To start off I want to point out that this Walmart has very poor costumer service. Almost every single time I come here its packed with butt loads of people and they only have about 3 to 4 cash registers open resulting in SUPER LONG lines. Unbelievable! Apart from that I never really had any other big complaints about this Walmart... At least not until what happened last night. I was out shopping with my family for some groceries and after we finished getting everything we needed we headed over to the register to checkout our items. Me, my mother and my grandmother had been waiting in line for a good 15-20 minutes. After a while my grandmother started complaining about not feeling well and wanted to sit down a bit to rest. I left my mother standing in line at the checkout to go find a bench that my grandmother could sit on. Can you believe this Walmart had no benches anywhere at all? I've been to other Walmart's and most of them have benches at the customer service department or near the bathrooms but this one had none. How inconvenient. My grandmother couldn't bare to stand anymore. We found a register that was closed so she sat down on the edge of those round things where they have all the plastic bags to put your items in. You know the ones that spin around and are at every cash register? Well while we were waiting on my mother (who was still in line) not even 5 minutes had passed by when this big old woman (Walmart employee) walks over and rudely tells me "She can't be sittin' here, she needs to move. I'm 'bout to open this register and she cant be sittin' here, this isn't a place to sit." Out of all the damn closed registers that were next to us in the store, she just had to open up the one my grandmother was sitting at. Coincidence? I don't think so. The woman was obviously in a bad mood from the very beginning so I don't doubt she intentionally opened up that cash register just to get my grandmother to move. I was disgusted by this woman's cold attitude towards an elderly person. Mind you, my grandmother is a very old woman who can't stand for long periods of time due to multiple health problems she has. I understand that a cash register is not a place to sit at, but was the attitude and rudeness necessary? I mean come on, there weren't any benches or chairs anywhere around and being a Walmart employee, she could of at least been more understanding and taken that under consideration. I was really pissed off by this woman's attitude. She's not even the manager of the store yet she was acting like she owned the place. After I helped my grandmother get up, before we left I turned around to give the employee a few words and said: " You guys should really have some benches in here so that way people won't look forced to sit at the registers. There are elderly people who come to shop here too and sometimes they need a place to sit down, you know?" After I said that she went all "ghetto" mode on me and took on a nasty attitude for no reason. I never offended her nor did I speak to her in a rude tone of voice. She walked over to me and got all up in my face saying; "You didn't ask for no chair ma'am so if you wanna sit down you needa ask someone to bring you a chair." I couldn't believe how rude and arrogant this woman was acting and the reply she gave me was absolutely ridiculous.I then again calmly repeated myself and told her "The chair isn't for me and second of all that wasn't my point. My point is you guys really should have benches in here for your customers convenience" and she replied with an attitude; "and I'm telling you if you wanna sit down you needa ask for a chair. Nobody ain't gonna bring you a chair if you dont ask for one. If you want a chair then go ask someone at customer service." I told her to forget it and asked where her manager was. She completely ignored my question and directed her attention towards my grandmother, grabbed a hold on her arm and asked her "ma'am, do you need a chair or no?!" My grandmother had a look of fear on her face at this point.It made me sick to see how cold and heartless this woman was, not giving a crap at how afraid she made an old woman feel. That could of been HER grandmother for God's sake! After we left to go find my mother, I told her what had happened and she insisted on speaking to the manager but my grandmother begged us not to provoke the rude employee to avoid any trouble from her. We decided to just drop it and go about our business. When we finished paying for our items, we walked past the register that the rude employee had ran us off from and guess what? SHE CLOSED THE REGISTER RIGHT AFTER WE LEFT. Wow,Seriously? What the ef was her problem!? I'd rather go to Target or HEB any day than put up with Walmart's crappy service. read more

These reviews are hilarious. I'm assuming most who visit this one haven't ventured out to the Wal-Mart located gently in the pits of hell, aka Westheimer and Dunvale. Satan himself manages and hires the people at that location. This location isn't as bad the one on Dunvale. Sure, the lines are long and people like to take 75 items into the speedy checkout and then proceed to try to argue with the cashier about what the prices supposedly really are, but it's not the one on Dunvale. Good Afternoon everyone, I would to bring the attention to a walmart associate in the fitting room on 2/13/18 around 12:35 pm Martha. so i was trying to get some bras or panties i lost in my apartment fire on saturday night around 10:30 pm. so i needed some so i went to walmart looking for the cleapest i can until i can recover or clean my clothes that smell like smoke badly. so i found 2 bras to tried them on the fitting room and i was fine for the first 2 on and making sure they fit. Until more people had the same ideal i had to try on something, but when i started to put my clothes on another customer attempted to open the door and i said i was almost but the customer told martha the walmart associate someone was inside the room she still decided to go and open the room up.what if i was trying on the another bra or nothing on because i was in process of puting my orginal clothes on. i just feel violation because why would you just open the door not to mention martha didn't knock on the door either before entering. so after i left the room i was so mad and threw one of the bras in a basket that was close to. then i went to check to see maybe if i can see if theres another one there and martha was there and watching me like i was going to steal something. i was waiting to see if she was going to say something or atleast sorry but instead she said i didn't see you in the room so i open it and i don't have to say sorry. so i'm so mad that i said you dont understand you fucking dumbass in spanish to her because i couldn't control my emotions no more i was a breaking point. so i talk to a manager on duty i explain to her what happen and i told her i use bad language with her i shouldn't of use but what i have said is out there and i said sorry that i use the language but i also want her to say sorry to me for what she did. manager did it for her. thats not acceptable in my book because thats not. i know no one is perfect and especially i know i'm not. no one should go through that ever. i was so mad i was ready to punch her thats what i told my roommate. read more

Funnily enough, I used to work at the bank inside this Wal-Mart years ago while I was in college and I don't remember the store being as bad as it was today. Granted, even back in the day it was dangerous to walk in the parking lot by yourself at night- several women had their purses snatched- but I came here on my lunch break to grab some fancy resume paper and chapstick (because what's the point of coming to Wally World if you're not buying two random items?) and was pretty disappointed with the experience. Starting off, the parking is terrible. I remember it being bad when I was working here (always busy and always full!), but today it seemed worse than ever. The parking lot was full, people were driving up and down the rows (going the wrong way of course) while the cart-pushers stood in the middle of the lane trying to collect carts. I understand that your job is to gather the carts, but can you at least do that somewhere other than the middle of a lane that 14 cars are trying to drive down? There is also lots of trash in the parking lot, and it seems that even if you're inside for only 5 minutes someone is going to put a flyer on your windshield- which, now that I think about it, is probably why there's so much trash in the parking lot. As I walked inside, their entry-product offering was some plants, which happend to be leaking brown water all over the floor. There was an employee standing in front of the gross looking water directing people around it, but I didn't see any paper towles or attempt to clean it up. Maybe they were waiting on a mop- not sure, but again, not the most plesant sight to see when first entering a store. After gathering my products, I make my way to the front of the store. None of the lanes on one half of the store are open, which of course was the side I was on, so I start making my way towards the beaconing lights of open lanes. The first few lanes I come across are 3-5 people deep, with BASKETS FULL OF JUNK. Since I'm only grabbing two items, I opt to keep walking to the Express lanes to see if there's a line that doesn't look like it'll take 30 minutes to get through. I get to the Express lanes, and they have about 5 of them open, and there are at least 5 people in each of these lines! So I just choose the first lane I come to, and wait. And wait.... and wait. The cashier must have been the slowest person in the world, beacuse I stand there for 5 minutes and he hasn't even completed the first person's check-out process. As I'm fuming in silence, thinking about how badly I want to get these items now, another cashier opens up next to my lane and beckons me over. She was fast and friendly, and put me in a little better mood. However, spending 20 minutes to pick up paper and chapstick is a bit absurd. read more

Horrible! This store is awful. What's sad is that it's not necessarily the store itself, as I am typically able to find what I want in stock. However, there are never any employees around for help. That'd be fine, if they were working registers. However, EVERY TIME I come there is at least a 15 minute wait. I was there Tuesday, and waited in line for 30 min. There were maybe 2 non-express lanes open (not that those appeared to be speedy either). The worst part of that trip wasn't even the horrific wait. When I was being checked out, the cashier forgot to scan coupons. I saw them still sitting there after and got a stare and "you have to go to customer service for a coupon refund" - which meant ANOTHER wait. Seriously? People wonder how Amazon got so popular. I will happily pay $80/year for the luxury of not having to deal with lines, horrible customer service... and not wasting time. For the few odds and ends I need that I can't get or wait for on Amazon, I am officially a 100% TARGET or CVS shopper now. That was officially my last ever trip to Walmart, unless there is something amazing that I need which can be ordered online. Oh and here's a tip: stop calling yourself the Alief location (I heard one of the employees say this). Alief is not known for a positive reputation - it's known for being a rougher area. You are in a GREAT location that is changing rapidly with new corporate HQ and office buildings going up - step it up and embrace being part of the Westchase community. And for the love of life, hire some extra employees and train them in customer service. What baffles me is that next door is Lowes, which has awesome customer service. To have two stores in the same area you would see overlapping demographic, but a world of difference in shopping experience. read more

I used the curbside pickup today for the first time and was blown away by all of the employees outside during a busy time really working as a team together to make sure the shift went smoothly and the customers were satisfied. I was also blown away by the assistant manager, Stanley's genuine,kind, and hard working attitude. I will definitely be back! read more

The only reason I visit this place is because its 2 minutes from my house. They never have enough lanes open. Be prepared to be in line for at least 10 to 15 minutes. You are better off ordering things online because they have a very limited stock on a lit of items. read more

This is the closet location to where I will be moving soon so chances are ill be here more often than not over time. The parking lot is insanely crowded. However, at least they had plenty of lanes open inside. Things were laid out oddly as compared to many I've been to. But at least aisles and sections were labeled clearly. Overall, this could easily turn into a people of Walmart at certain times, but at least that makes for interesting people watching? read more

I really enjoy going into a grocery store or super market to get some shopping done. Walking down isles and seeing all the different items brings out the creativeness in me. This Walmart in particular does a great job of absolutely sapping all that wonder I get from shopping centers. It's a very big Walmart with pretty much everything you could ever need, but a lot of items are out of stock. The store just feels dirty and unorganized. Even a good bit of the merchandise seems dirty with damages to the boxes. No one offers assistance. Instead, I see workers casually just walking and chatting with each other. Even the ones that stock up the shelves are pretty rude. They are more concerned with getting their job done than allowing you to courteously walk by or grab an item. No, not all of the employees are like that; a good number of the cashiers are pretty friendly, but unfortunately the good apples don't do enough to cover the distaste from the bad ones. The worst part about this walmart, and what causes me to absolutely dread coming here are the lines. During the day, so many people come, and almost all registers are back up by like 10 customers. Even late at night past 12am, the lines are always long. I used to work at the Lowe's right next door, and whenever I close, I often made the mistake of coming to this Walmart for a quick drink or snack. That supposed quick midnight run turned into an hour-long wait. So yeah..this Walmart is one I really try to avoid. Despite it having almost everything you'd want or need, the overall experience really does disappoint. Oh and there's a McDonald's here. I guess that's another positive(?). read more

i paid for full package oil change where they check your tires, fluids and vacuum. guess what? they didn't do any of that and didn't even change my filter out that i paid for. i caught them by looking thru window on a busy day. mechanic admit nothing was done and told me he will run my car back thru the line to check what they were suppose to. it was another hour wait for me but i needed it done because i was driving out of town. btw, i can't stand that rude fat short bilingual guy that checks car in, don't ever ask him anything because he doesn't know. read more

He was waiting long before me and the assistant manager was becoming agitated with him because SHE was messing up. My order wasn't even there after I got an email saying it was. One should never have high expectations shopping at Walmart, but you will have to lower your expectations to rock-bottom not to become frustrated shopping at THIS Walmart. Most of the staff seem to think that they will be paid whether or not they help customers, so it's easier for them not to be helpful. Not helpful, not knowledgeable, few are fluent in English, most are surly. The new self-checkouts would be an improvement if they were constantly manned. Went to this Walmart earlier today and had a run-in with a not so friendly female cashier. She was the only cashier on the front end of the home and furniture side of the store as the other walmart employees were registering closer to the supermarket side and kept a busy line. I noticed her station light was on yet seemed preoccupied, she was restocking shopping bags and had a broom stick with her, so I didn't know if she was setting up or was just cleaning. There were no one she was ringing up and definitely no one nearby in the area so to make sure I asked if she was open. She mumbled something with her back facing toward me, didn't even bother to turn around. Not hearing what she said I asked her again, finally, she mumbles a little louder, "My light is on..." Still, her back faced toward me. So I wait in line for her.. still, waiting for her to restock her shopping bags on the rack. By this time there were 3 people already forming a line waiting for her to finish. Not one ounce of acknowledgment to her customers. I didn't even bother with this woman and just went to another cashier. Now with a store like walmart, I don't expect excellency.. I don't even expect anything out of them, just that I not be treated rudely. Even if I am asking a "stupid" question to an employee who is available yet seemingly unavailable to assist their customers and can't bother to simply answer a yes or no question. But I will say, I have experienced better walmart employees. read more

Fair prices. In general it is OK It could be better.. (2,5 out of 5) Cheap Medicines, Cheap car oil, tire, battery services. Close to my house but poor warranty services. Price checker machines are missing. We asked some "managers" more than five times.. still "no" Price checker machine. They claimed "thieves keep steal power supplies "... I suggested : installing the plug outlet about 8-10 ft high and run conduit down to Price checker... This suggestion is two years old ! . Warranty.. In general it is fair but after 90 days !! I bought a Toasters oven made for Walmart by Farberware but this Walmart will not honor the warranty after 90 days even the sticker says warranty 2 years by Walmart, I called Walmart warranty center and was instructed to bring it back this center, The rude customer service clerks refused to call 1-800 Walmart warranty center to verify the warranty and very impolite. They claimed after 90 days that is my problems even I shows the sticker " 2 year Walmart warranty !" Two extra phone calls with 1-800 Walmart warranty center and two trips to this Super Walmart plus almost 2 hours waiting for managers and talking with very rude staffs to get a less than 50 dollar toaster oven exchanged? Worst customer service. Worst form of communication. I called ahead of time, I was coming from the Cypress area and the Walmarts in that area had no 14k earrings, to MAKE SURE someone would be there at the time I arrived. The lady confirmed she'd be there until 9pm so I told her perfect, I'll be there in 45mins.. I got off the phone with her at 610pm, I arrived at 7pm. Upon arrival I went to the piercing department looking for the lady I JUST SPOKE TO. They told me she's at lunch and won't be back until 8pm. WHY WOULD SOMEONE THINK THAT NOT SHARING THAT PIECE OF INFORMATION IS VITAL? ESPECIALLY IF IM COMING FROM CYPRESS?! Waste of my time and waste of my gas. To top it off the manager I spoke to didn't seem to care much about my complaint. All she said is "well she won't be longer than 8pm" never again. I'd give them ZERO stars if I could. read more

The few times I go to this WalMart, I recall why I just don't like this place. Arrived around 2:30 pm, before school let out and before the larger crowds. Couldn't believe that I had to wait nearly 20 minutes in line--my Blue Bell Ice Cream was already starting to thaw :-((( ... and just as I was about to get to the head of the line, another cashier opened up and took the person behind me. No other store has such a dearth of cashiers, no matter what time of the day. I did get what I was looking for, but I've learned my lesson.
