They have cut the hours for cashiers at the Stadium Blvd store, so you are forced to check yourself out after 9 pm. I don't support self-checkout because I am strongly in favor of humans having jobs. If I had not needed the items I had, I would have just left. I can do the tech but I'm sure the owners of Walmart are not going broke and are quite capable of hiring and scheduling cashiers. I am also confident that any savings they make on wages go right into corporate profits and pockets. They are not doing this to make things cheaper for customers, although I'm positive that is the story they tell to justify the self-checkout lanes. The more the self-checkout trend grows, if it does, the fewer people there will be who will have that paycheck to spend. I have also heard they lose more money at some of the stores than they paid out in wages because the "attendants" can't watch everyone, and a lot of unpaid merchandise walks out the doors. I only shop at Walmart if I'm desperate already, and now I know not to go there at night if I don't want to compromise my principles. read more

My husband went in to buy minutes for his phone. Judy in electronics looked at his phone picked a Family Plan card my husband not knowing the difference paid $40 Judy scratched off the back to load it in the phone then realized it was the WRONG CARD. My husband has Straight Talk so then Judy go over gets a Straight Talk card and tells my husband that'll be $30 dollars. We can't refund the 1st card it's No Refunds. So if you go to Wal-Mart on Stadium DON'T DEAL WITH JUDY SHE'S DUMB AND WILL RIP YOU OFF THEN SMILE WHEN YOU WALK AWAY. read more

I visited the money center and was assisted by Eric. He told me that his system would not recognize my cashier's check. I asked if there was any way he could call the bank to verify the check or even ask for assistance from his supervisor. He told me no and that he "used" to be a supervisor, so he knows the system. I do not think that is the proper way an associate should speak with a customer or even try to exhaust all options. Not satisfied with my trip. read more

This review is for the tire area only. Had to get new tires and came in from the Wal Mart in OB. The lady at the OB store was kind enough to call and make sure they were in stock. They were but my God, the people that work here!!! There is an African-American lady working at the register, chewing a wad of gum like a Jersey cow and ghetto as hell. The good thing is, they're fairly fast and the tires were a good price. Some people hate Wal Mart because of their business practices, but if you need a good tire and aren't rich, this is the best place to come. read more

This is not just for the local Walmart, but for Walmart.com as well. This store always seems dirty and understocked. Especially when it comes to household items that everyone uses on a daily basis and while I haven't spoken to or asked every employee there for assistance, the ones I've asked about where I could find a product often give me that "deer in the headlights look". It's a big store and I know it's impossible to memorize every product but at least be willing to ask another team member or look it up. As far as their online ship to your home orders go, I tried to order some dishes--I needed 2 sets. They often use 3 party vendors to supply things. Now, if there weren't enough of these dishes in stock, the website should have told me when I tried to order that they couldn't fulfill it. And they also don't tell you that before they even go to pull that order from the warehouse, before they even know they can fulfill that order, they generate a shipping label. Once that shipping label is printed, you can't cancel the order. I was notified by Riley Online Ent. after the fact that that they didn't have enough in stock to fulfill my order and that the dishes they were sending had all been broken. I'm not sure at what point they'd been broken but I contacted a customer service number--She was a lovely woman named Wanda, who did her very best to help me. She read the email that was sent regarding the shipment of broken dishes and managed to get me a refund. If I could suggest something to corporate it would be to modify their system so if they can't fulfill your entire order, it should say so at the point of order instead of putting the cart before the horse and generating a shipping label as the order comes through. Walmarts policy is that once there's a shipping label, you can't cancel. Sending half my order and then waiting six months for the other half is unacceptable. I've ordered from Walmart.com five times in the last year because of the pandemic--I don't go to big, crowded stores much. Four of those times were for Christmas gifts and I had to return/exchange every single order because they sent the wrong product, an order for shoes--they sent two left shoes. I will NEVER order anything from them again. And then they wonder why they're losing business to Amazon. read more

They have a good selection of things commonly needed. It's nice being able to get my tires rotated, buy my fishing license, grab a new phone charger, and get groveries all in one trip. This store has been very clean and well organized, each time I've visited. Employees are knowledgeable and helpful but maybe a bit scarce. read more

Growing up in this town, on of my childhood memories is driving to Wal-mart Christmas eve and watching the parking lot clear out for that one day of the year. And then seeing the car the police put in the parking lot to remind us not to drink and drive. Wal-Mart isn't popular in CA. Not in LA at all. I drive to one in Napa, about 30 miles from Berkeley. Is it worth the drive? Yes. Aren't you spending money on gas? Yes Wouldn't it be easier to go to Safeway? NO HELL NO I would rather walk to wal-mart in mapa than go to safeway on shattuck. I understand why the unions hate Wallyworld, I really do. I know Wallyworld closes mom and pop stores, but doesn't every chain? You're telling my Starbucks and Coffee Bean doesn't hurt the small cafe? What about the way Wal-Mart treats it's employees??? Ask a union worker at Safeway about their benefits. Would wal-mart lock it's employees out only to hire people using fake social security numbers? My Ralphs (Kroger) did. And then the union takes 90% of our back-pay. what's a union.. it's a business, out to make money. This Wal-mart is a good example of what a supercenter should be. This Walmart was the worst Walmart I've ever been to. I waited 27 minutes to even be waited on at the bakery counter and I was the only one there and then they didn't even have my order ready, which had been placed about a week ago. They had plenty of time to for fill my order and they asked a lot of questions so that they had all the information they needed. And I quote the person taking my order literally said, "be here at 11 AM sharp so we can have you order will call you if anything goes wrong." So I show up at 11 and it takes forever to even get waited on and they don't even have it. They tell me I can stick around for a few more minutes so they can do my order. No I was already late to where I was supposed to be going and they wanted to make me even later. The unemployment rate is so damn high they could fire and hire as they please. They need to fire the dumb people who can't work/ don't want to and hire people who actually want a job!!! read more

Of the 5 employees we asked for help, only one knew how to help us. Then it took 20+ mins to get someone competent enough to help us bring a TV from the back of the store to the front of the store. Thank goodness they weren't busy or it might have taken all day! Also, two boys didn't know how to put the TV into the car, it took us two females to do it. read more
