Have not been to this Walmart location in over ten years but decided to stop by since I'm in the area and had some time to kill. It may not be my favorite Walmart location in the area but it definitely has improved a little better since the last time I have been here. The employees seem more helpful this time and it was not too busy when I was there but I already know it definitely more busier during the later hours and weekends like any other store. The inside was clean and the isles were well kept. The lady at the pharmacy was very nice and helpful while I was picking up my subscription. read more

Went for an oil change. The previous visit they misplaced my lug nut key after a rotation. My car sat in the oil change bay for over an hour. I was told to go to dealer to get a new key and bring receipt. read more

Both my wife and I visited the optical center to get new glasses. We received immediate and expert service from the staff. They were very friendly, funny, and caring. Our exams were done in a timely and professional manner. The optician took the time to explain her diagnoses. They also helped in picking out the glasses and recommending transition colors. When we picked up our glasses, they took extra time to make sure the fit was perfect! Well done! The price was right too and they accepted Care Credit! We highly recommend that you get your next pair of glasses from this second to none optical center! read more

I can see why this store has crappy reviews and a bad reputation...which I wish I would've known before spending money here for an entire grill set!! I visited the store on Sunday to purchase a grill set for my husband's birthday. Upon shopping I saw a patio set listed at $117. I asked the employee working in that area (Carolina) if the price was accurate and if it came with all 6 chairs, because I thought it was a good deal! She said "Yes, that's what it says" and verified the price was correct. I said, "okay, I'll have to come back because I don't have room in my car for both items. Yesterday I returned to the store to find the price listed at $398. Apparently it was listed wrong. The same employee was there working, and called a manager. "Mehet" GM Coach was the manager who came to assist. He told me, "the price was wrong, it's listed at $398 so that's the final price." He kept stating that there was nothing he could do. He literally said, "I do have the ability to change the price, but I'm not." He was dismissive, condescending, and lacked overall compassion for the situation. I showed him a PHOTO of the price that I took before leaving the store that day because i wanted to be sure to come back for the right set! He walked away and called manager "Rebecca" and stated that she also said there's nothing that can be done. I have been trying to reach her or manager Christian all morning and have yet to receive a call back. I spoke with one of the managers under Rebecca named "Rachel" who offered 10% off. I am not sure why would Walmart's Code of Conduct discuss ETHICS and INTEGRITY if this isn't going to be followed! Worst place ever. I went to get Nintendo switch controllers. Around 10:30pm an employee said they would grab someone for me to unlock the case. At 10:45 they still hadn't returned so I asked someone else. They responded telling me someone was on their way. At 11 an employee came and told me the store is now closed. I told her the situation and she said all the employees with a key have already clocked out and left. Will NEVER go to a Walmart again. Seriously. Never read more

I've actually been to this Walmart 3 or 4 times since making this review. Overall it's a huge Walmart. If Walmart doesn't have what you need the store 200 feet away may help you out. Overall it's one of the better Walmarts I've visited. Staff is decent. There's a few sketchy employees that I bumped into. Shoppers are pretty friendly. This place features a Subway and a bank here too. It's also 24 hours which is even better! I do feel like some of their merchandise is in the wrong parts of the store. For example, oven mitts aren't in the kitchen aisle of the store. They don't restock their bang energy drinks! read more

Where do I begin... at the end. It was such an experience, I need to explain a 40 minute wait ( with 3 people ahead of us ). Absolutely disgusting! Stay away! The self check out isles are disgusting dirty and smells sooooo bad! I wouldn't even scan items on it and went to another isle and it was even worse. Called a worker and he said"He couldn't call maintenance" because they look at the cameras to see if he cleaned it. If I could give negative stars I would. i brought my car to get a tire replaced, I have a warranty and the service manger said they could only find a warranty for one tire until I showed the receipt. it took over two hours !!! my car was the only one in the shop and every team member was standing around and they tried to scam me every step of the way! it was the worst experience I have ever had and I will be telling everyone I can never to come here! horrible waste of a morning! read more

She has got to be one of the sweetest, personable, nicest person I have EVER had checking me out. Be careful. Walmart is getting more money from you than you realize. I had an incident last week; the item on the shelf said 2.12 It rang up 2.48. I questioned it; they got a floor sup...they checked the app, said 2.48. I said I wanted 2.12...the lady, Lynn, was very rude. I got the price though. Went home called corporate and complained. Told they should have given me the shelf price. Said within 72 hours the store manager should be calling me. It is one week later and not heard from the store manager. Today I noticed the same item still 2.12 on the shelf. I bought a few other items....one is listed as 2.00 rang up as 2.50...same with some cookies. Shelf says 2.50, rang up 2.64. The manager of this store must be lazy to not see that the prices are right on the shelf. I know many people who hate the Joliet Jefferson street store...I am beginning to be one of them. read more

There are never enough registers open to meet demand. They clearly have the staff; there are always 5-10 staff standing around talking to each other about their night at "da club." Management, and the team working there clearly don't give a crap about the customers who are paying their salary. I guess they don't care that the lines back up 20 deep, and they have one cashier who is slow, or just doesn't care about doing her job quickly. The Wal-Mart in Shorewood is 150% better than this one. They will actually have cashiers come out to the lines and say "this register is now open! You can come over here!" read more

I will admit, this Walmart is local so I'm frequently visiting. I'm not sure why I do, it's a terrible place. Case and point, I was there today around 1pm and there were 4 registers open. Four. There were three people ahead of me, two with FULL carts, and there were several people behind me. It took a good 25+ minutes to check out. Unacceptable. I literally spent more time checking out than I did grabbing the few items I needed. I would give it negative stars if I could: Warning to anyone purchasing gift cards at Walmart. We had purchased many gift cards for employees at this store and a few of them were hacked before our employees could use them. If you call the number on the back of the card they will tell you to bring them back to where they were purchased with the receipt. We did. Walmart will do absolutely nothing about it. The manager actually said that wasn't their problem - people get hacked all of the time. What?? We are out $210 through no fault of our own. There is no warning on the gift card carousel that says "buy gift cards at your own risk because if they are hacked that is your problem not ours and we will do absolutely NOTHING about it". The customer service associate working the service desk today (2/6) is an abborrante human being. Apparently, interrupting her personal conversation was offensive to her. She was rude & obnoxious. I RARELY shop at Walmart - especially the one on Jefferson St. in Joliet, IL. Reason being is related to the attitude of the employees AND the way the company treats its' employees. Every now & then I stop in to buy one or two items just to see if there has been any improvement. Today (March 2, 2018) was one such day, and in the past 7 years I have seen no improvement at all. For starters, I went there because Walmart.com was advertising a 2-pack of HP Printer ink (Black # 61) for $30.99....which is the same price at Amazon. Since it was a nice day I figured I would venture out & wander over to the Walmart on Jefferson St. They had the ink but I had to almost get into an argument with the lady in the Electronics Dept because she did not understand what I was looking for. She finally gave me one. Picked up a loaf of bread & gallon of milk then headed to the checkout. The customer in front of me at the checkout was deaf. He told the cashier this - I heard him tell her "I cannot hear (pointing to his ears)" but she kept her face turned away as she spoke. When he did not respond she finally faced him & repeated what she said. He thanked her for looking at him so he could read her lips. She didn't like that & scowled at him with a look of disdain. When she finished ringing up his items, he held up his LINK card & asked her if he had to swipe it first. It was like he was speaking another language because she looked confused. Finally she understood & nodded yes. He thanked her for at least nodding after asking 3 times. Then he completed his transaction, took his things & left. Now it's my turn. The cashier rang in the printer cartridges - they came up at $34.99. I objected & said that they are supposed to be $30.99, as shown on the website. She wanted me to show her on my phone to prove it. I told her to stuff it, I'll order it from Amazon. I paid for the milk & bread & headed over to Customer Service to complain.....not that it mattered. They want proof too. On the one hand, I understand why because that Walmart is so full of trashy looking people. On the other hand, if they want proof - I don't see why those cashiers don't have a monitor with the website already loaded so they could simply look it up! So, this was the last straw. I will never - ever - shop at Walmart anywhere in the country again. They can give stuff away for free and I would not go there to get it. Additionally, shopping & ordering from Walmart.com is fine if you don't mind waiting up to 2 weeks for your one item order to arrive. (Yes, I tried that too and that was the result - 2 weeks for my order to arrive.) Never again. I will have a huge party WHEN Walmart closes its' doors for good! read more

I keep giving this store chance after chance. I hate the store. There's never enough registers open. My feet hurt because I had to stand in line so long to get checked out. The late behind me actually called the store from her cell to tell them about it. I dont like self check out. If I wanted to be a cashier, id find a job doing so. If it wasn't for their massive buying power and dictatorship style relationships with their venders/designers, this store would have gone the way of Kmart (the store that time forgot). The store is always packed with loud babies and bad behaved children, They run out of things too often and I guess not having enough cashiers is a budget saver. I dread going here but do when Walgreens is going to be too expensive. The Pharmacy dept is pretty good though so props to them.
