Shop at many Walmarts, but the employees here seem to hate their jobs more than anywhere else. Two different times I've had very rude cashiers for absolutely no reason. Of all Walmarts I have shopped at, this is one of the worst. Too bad it is in such a good location! Almost anyone could run a Walmart better than this! Hell, Hellen Keller could run this place better than the current management! If you feel that Walmart just has too many choices, then you are in luck! Just arrive anytime after five, and those shelves will be nice and picked clean for you- only ONE, maybe two choices to choose from!! I, like many of you, also love standing in lines! So, this Walmart is perfect! I have never made it through the checkout line faster than 15 minutes. Currently (12/22/10), I am standing in line: there are 8 people in front of me, the cashier must be an all-time award winner in the "how slow can I bag" competition, and the ONE other line open has about 12 people in it. Seriously, there are 30 counters, two of which are being utilized, and I've seen 4 employees walk aimlessly by about six times! Good use of resources. If this were an isolated incident, I would give this place another chance before writing this review, but it is a very similar experience every time I've been there. read more

I hate this WalMart. Parking lot sucks, never enough cashiers open. Store can be dirty. It is crazy busy here on the weekends. Customer Service always sucks, the line is always too long. I really avoid it unless I am going to get office supplies because it is closest to my work. read more

Oh. My. Gosh. I no longer go to this location. For several years I would go here once every 6 to 9 months trying to give this location another chance. I do not do this anymore. Many of the staff should not even work there. How they collect a paycheck is beyond me. I have encountered staff who refuse to acknowledge you as a patron, point blank ignore you by not looking you in the eye, tell you "they do not know" when you ask them a question and then refuse to find out the answer, tell me they are going on break and then just leave, and basically talk like a sailor on leave about other Walmart staff and bosses. This is a place to take your kid and say, "Johnny, do not act like that at your future job." Then there are the other patrons. Wow. Screaming fights in the store and in the parking lot. Domestics, assaults, attempted stabbings (allegedly). Aggressive and verbally abusive homeless people stalking you in the parking lot. I now go to romeoville or shorewood and I have never had an issue like I have had at this location. I strongly suggest you go elsewhere. read more

I went to Wal-Mart on Jefferson I have had such a bad experience. The people who worked there were so unprofessional - I bought two cases of water and the cashier scanned everything but it didn't go through. To make things worse she overcharged us for something else and the person seeing our way out accused us of trying to steal something! Even after we got everything fixed, we have gotten no apologies! Customer services is not that great. Went to buy a TV. Stood around looking for an employee to help but nobody around! And it was around 4 or 5pm it's not like we went at an insane hour. After about 10 mins we found someone who didn't work in the department but said she could find someone else to help us. Waited 15 mins and nobody came! During that time one other employee passed and didn't ask if we needed help, she went straight to her employee friend and started chatting like it was social hour and not work. So we left. I'm sitting here waiting for the tire and lube express to open up. The sign is clearly posted for hours of operations. It is currently ten past the hour and it still has not opened up. Placed a call room see what's going on and was told it would be an additional 10 to 15 minutes. I happen to work throughout the week and the weekends are all that is available. My biggest complaint with this store is that they repackage bad electronics. I will not buy anything electronic again from this store. First time I bought a bad portable hard drive for my laptop. It came out of the package easy, and crashed my computer. On closer inspection I saw where it was damaged and put back in the container. I took it back for a replacement and the counter person accused me of doing the damage and that they "never repackage". After 20 minutes of arguing, they allowed me to go back and get another. I found the remaining 3 were damaged and repackaged even worse. I also bought a low priced flat screen tv. It was the only one left. Tv messes up in "wide" mode. Found it rewrapped too. Also make sure you check every nook and cranny of furniture you buy there. We bought a foot stool. Fortunately, we checked inside. Someone had stolen a DVD from electronics, cut it open, and taken the DVD out, and threw the case into the foot stool. I only go to this store before 7am. If I have to go to a Walmart after that time, I go to Shorewood's. Too many bad experiences at the one on Jefferson street. read more

Lines were too long on black friday for checkout and a couple of things were never even opened. looked for 3 hours for the belkin portfolio and it was boxed up, and I found it, not the umpteen employees that we asked about and they kept saying the must have sold out. read more

This is hands down the worst Walmart that i have ever shopped at. There are never enough registers open and management thinks that its ok that lines are extended into other sections when workers are huddled talking to each other. This store operates under the impression that since they are in a low economic area the people that shop here deserve sub-par service. Please do like we did. This walmart is very unorganized and shelves are never stocked with products I'm looking for. I also noticed that some displayed prices on certain items are not the price that the register rings up. Also sometimes prices on some items might be 1 price in aisle and the a different price on one of the end cap promos displaying a different price. Needs to be more organized and maybe management needs to put little more attention to details. read more

This is the worst Walmart I have ever been to! While checking out, there are 3 cashiers talking and using swear words all while 2 of them are ringing customer's out and another standing and talking, I really enjoyed their conversation and so did my children, I also was not even greeted the cashier was so busy talking and cussing. The store always is out of at least one of the items I need. It is so dirty in there and never have enough registers open! I will drive to Shorewood it's so much nicer and never have a long wait! Wow, this place is crap. Most of the staff talk to other workers. I just had a cashier talk to a cleaner the entire time she processed my order. When she was done, she did not tell me my total. The screen was turned around. She stopped talking to her co-worker and glared at me. She then asked me "if I was going to pay or what!?!?" This was loudly spoken to me. I asked for the manager. I got a head cashier. I was told the manager was busy when I again asked for one. The cashier was very rude snapping her gum and wanted me to pay. I refused to be treated this way. I schooled her in proper guest service. Let the head cashier know that my $202 can be canceled out. The cashier said "what ever." The head cashier did not even say a word to me. I have been on hold three different times trying to let management know what happened. After 15 to 20 minutes each time with a person checking in and putting me on hold I gave up. I have sent a letter to corporate and to the site itself expressing my displeasure. I hate this. I like the price match they have. One store instead of 3 or 4 stores. What sucks is this Walmart is a 5 minute drive for me. The next closest Walmart is 20 minutes away. read more

I'm going to preface this by saying that as a general rule I hate Walmart, and everything that it stands for, so if you're a fan of the ginormous chain then you can take my comments with a grain of salt. I usually avoid Walmart like the plague for a variety of reasons such as how they treat their employees, and how they kill small business, (I digress) but for some reason I've ended up at this particular store twice even though it is nowhere near my home. There is nothing particularly special or awful that makes this Walmart stand out, it's the same Walmart experience you get at everyone of there stores: long lines, cheap crap, and crazy people. Maybe it's because Walmart's "low Price" dogma is directed at those who are less fortunate, but Walmart sure seems to bring in the crazies. Also, for such a big store they seem to have almost no staff. It's no wonder they have huge lines! That is of course how Walmart works. They don't care about their staff, they don't care about lines. They know people will keep coming back for the prices because they have to because they've driven any other competition out of business. Forgive my moral rants, but if you want better treatment then shop someplace else because as long as you keep spending money there nothing will ever change! read more

Customer service clearly does not exist at this location. I don't expect much from Walmart, but there should be lines open for checkout. I just stood in line for over 30 minutes and left most of my now defrosted frozen veggies, milk, and all that should be cold that is now warm behind. Way to lose money and customers!!! Open registers, get people through the lines. Here's a thought...let people but your stuff. I will NEVER shop at this location again. TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE! The lines are always too long and not enough checkers. You spend more time in the line than actually shopping in the darn store! The ones that are working are either slow or unfriendly! Two weeks ago, I left with only half my items after being in line for 10 minutes, then having a slower than molasses checker who didn't bother to turn the stupid bag holder so that I could "put my own bags in my cart." When I got home, I had to come back and re-shop for my items becuase someone put half of those away. I was only gone for about an hour tops. When I got home, my yogurt was expired anyways! I wasn't going to go back a third time, so I just let my $1 go to waste. Shameful! Last week, I had to get a presciption for Amoxocilin filled for my sick kid-they told me one hour, fine. I was there almost two hours waiting for them to add water and shake a fricking prescription! I had to go back to the pharmacy about three times with a SICK kid! Unexcusable! I hate this place and am NEVER going back. I will try the walgreens or a farther location to avoid wasting time and money at this location. Worst place in JOLIET. read more

It's the day before the entire town of Joliet goes back to school and 5 registers are open. People have loaded shopping carts,children are having meltdowns,and I just wanted a few items. I didn't use the self checkout line because that was ridic as well. No one was stopping people that had over 15 items. Had to wait 25 minutes in line. Walmart managers,use your brains!! Seriously the worst walmart in the area! I went in the other day to make a return the lady had to ask her manager if i could return without a receipt she wouldn't even look at me she yelled at her no. She basically stated i could only exchange for another size which she was wrong because i had went to a different Walmart before there they told me i could but only for store credit and it had to be returned at the joliet location because it was an item from there. So they couldn't do the return which was new to me. I tired speaking to the head Debra who would not even look at me its costumer service um talk to the costumer nope she ignored me and turned around and screamed at me. What a joke definitely is in the wrong department! I did call and complain to corporate which they also stated she was wrong and i should of been issued store credit! Worst store EVER. 3-4 of us all between the ages of 30-40 years old went shopping. After checking out we decided to go to the liquor department to get 1 bottle of wine for dinner. One of us didn't have an ID even though he was waiting outside the liquor area and the woman refused to let my friend buy his bottle of wine because "we were all walking together". She said "it was store policy". There is no possible way that is a store policy. 1 BOTTLE OF WINE. My friend had his ID in the car but we refused to give this company any more business at this point. I went to Walmart in Jefferson St in Joliet this morning. Wanted to buy razors for my Venus. To my surprise these where under locking key, and I spent at least 3 times going up and down the aisles with no one to help me. Needless to say, I walked out without a purchase.
