This Walmart is conveniently located in Lafayette and closer to the hotels. We did some grocery shopping and water and basic essentials during our stay. This is a huge walmart with lot of parking spots and well light during very late at night. The store has good variety of produce, groceries and other travel need items. We could see lot of college/school items on sale. As you enter the store you can also see a small fast-food store open throughout night. read more

Typical supersize Walmart, tons of brands and products, typical decent prices and great options for Great Value, however parking is always frustrating here of all the large stores in the area, very crowded and Kroger/Payless, Target, Aldi, and Meijer are much better options; also treating their employees fairly. Walmart has grown itself into a socialist empire presenting the fake appearance of a generous opportunity for employment and easy budget balanced products. This is at quite the large cost to everyday Americans. Last news I came across was Walmart offering zero holiday pay but a 15% store discount to its staff meanwhile saving an estimated 2billion USD this year on the Trump corporate tax cuts. I'm needing to see Walmart offering fair benefits and compensation competitive with other large store chains like Safeway, Target, and Costco before recommending anyone shop here. read more

I arrived early enough to do a little bit of shopping, picking up a few nibbles and some water for the Sprinter van. And then, because this Walmart Supercenter tolerates overnight parking, I took a spot on the side opposite the garden center near the trees as it would hopefully be the quietest. Easy and mostly quiet. The store is in good condition. I thought it was well stocked, my checkout was quick and the restrooms were okay. Definitely a better than average Walmart. Stop automating the "how was your visit" also check your carts , my husband got his arm scratched on the cart from the sharp edges on the inside of the cart when lifting a boxed item out. Had this been an elderly on blood thinner , medical would need to be called and possible law suit. read more

Deli is lazy and "closes" their fryers at 1700 leaving no food for hours before they actually close the deli. Also, they don't wear gloves when handling the food, and are randomly eating the wings with their bare hands in the "back" room you can see before serving customers. read more

I really appreciated my last visit to Walmart. They have put a lot of effort into their remodel, and items were easy to find. The person checking my receipt was nice, and the people at the self-check station helped me when it wouldn't work right. There was a really nice employee there named Ben who helped me find something too. He deserves an award. read more

Placed a vague order for a Hawaiian themed birthday cake. I asked for white whipped icing, light blue border, Hawaiian flowers, and text. It was BEAUTIFUL! They spent time on making it look absolutely perfect. Couldn't have been more impressed with the cake and decoration. Don't underestimate the bakery department at this Walmart!! Highly recommend! It was only $28 too! The woman I placed the order with was so helpful and the woman I picked it up from was so kind. Lovely experience all around! read more

I am giving this review solely for Nate, in the telephone electronics area. He really needs to be recognized, and I'm sure he is. I needed a new phone, and had been to another, top Cell Phone Store in the area, where they basically had three kids standing around not willing to help anybody. I got disgusted with the immaturity of these kids and decided to just to to Walmart and get a phone. What a surprise to get somebody who is not only technically savvy, (so many people THINK they are these days, but don't know much more than I do) but patient, and truly helpful. I noticed the elderly people coming in and asking for him, so he really is helpful and kind and people rely on him for help. He never makes anybody feel unimportant or stupid. Thank you Walmart, for this employee. read more

Poor service. I was in the self check out had a question about a product i asked the self check out assistant & she pretended like she didn't know anything. Rolled her eyes and came towards my family and i gave me an attitude & said i don't know you should read the sign. I was at the self check out closest to the beauty salon. I picked up my grocery's then I went to check out and no one to checkout-not a one associate to help me check out on a normal month our family spends around $500.00 at Wal Mart-I was there around 7:45 AM and $70.00 I was disappointed that no one was willing to stop and check me me out. You know, I have been going to this location for a good decade, and watched it slowly sliding down the tubes. Part of it is the clientele that Wal-mart attracts. We all want to save a buck, but I've found that between often surly and sometimes flat out rude help, and the higher than average percentage of trashy people who are rude, and often kids who are out of control, I find myself spending my money at the competition stores more and more often. Value only goes so far. Maybe Walmart needs to realize this. When you speak to a cashier pleasantly 3 times with general chit chat as your cart is rang up, and she just glares at you and doesn't even acknowledge that you spoke to her..... bad news. read more
