***This review is for the bakery only. I have heard horror stories about Walmart bakery at other location, but the Laurel location has yet to disappoint. I have a used this bakery for six consecutive years for my son's birthday, my husband's birthday, my mom's birthday, and several other events. The Walmart bakery is very affordable you can order cakes online or you can go in person. The only drawback to the bakery is the customer service is not always that great. I recommend going in the day when the bakery is open and also when the store is less crowded during the middle of the week. Every time I sever these cakes or cupcakes people always ask where do I get them from ...they are always surprised to know that I got them from Walmart at such an affordable price. If you have patience and you are frugal like myself , definitely try out the bakery in Laurel. I can't recommend other location, but I know the Walmart in Laurel never seems to disappoint. read more

I don't think I've been to a Walmart that I could write a 4 or 5 star review for. This one isn't any different. We moved to Laurel about 4 months ago so we do have to get the occasional Walmart run. We were in Ellicott City before and that one was significantly better. This being a Supercenter there is more space and options but like some of the previous reviews a lot of the items aren't fully stocked. The one incident that sticks out the most was my trip trying to get some steaks and they didn't have anything at all. It wasn't a 4th of July weekend or anything but they didn't have anything. Surprisingly for how big this Walmart is and how many customers there are, there doesn't seem to be enough registers open. Lines are pretty long at self checkout too. Although I will say that this Walmart doesn't have 3-5 broken ones at one time. I had the pleasure of doing one drive up pick up for my wife and not sure if there was an issue with the app but it wouldn't allow me to put the parking space I was at and I called the number indicated on the space just to make sure. I saw that there were a few other cars waiting longer than me so I don't know if the app needs to be updated but if you're doing the pick up make sure you call the number and let them know otherwise you could be waiting longer than expected. One of the biggest things I dislike about this location is the parking/traffic. Seems like there isn't enough parking spots or the way it is set up that when you are trying to leave the parking area and getting back onto the main road it is always held up. We had one night where the traffic light wasn't working and didn't turn green after like 6 cycles so we had to run the red lights. It doesn't help that there's a Sam's gas station near the only exit so it can get really congested. I try to avoid going to this place during peak times but it is Walmart. Seems like there's a lot of people here most times. read more

I'm not sure if the 2 star rating is actually a legitimate rating for this specific store. I mean it's definitely Walmart so expectations should be set in line with Walmart. I stopped in on a Tuesday afternoon and the parking lot was crazy full. I ended up parking pretty far away but I didn't let that influence my rating. It was beautiful out and a little walk never hurt. Once inside I didn't realize just how big a Super Center was. This store sold any and everything you could possibly want. I will say I took away a star for the extremely pushy cell phone carriers who wouldn't take no as an answer. Now these aren't technically Walmart employees however; Walmart is allowing the aggressive/assertive behavior continue within their store. I honestly could've spent hours here looking at everything. (We don't have a Walmart where we live.) I found plenty of things to buy if if I lived closer I would visit again. Check out was easy and there are plenty of self checks if minimal interaction is your thing. read more

Only come here at off peak hours (check Google Maps busy graph for stats), no weekends!, unless you're the kind of person who enjoys crowds along the intensity of Black Friday shopping. This location is a Supercenter so a surprising selection of unique, gourmet items along with good but bad for you only sold at Walmart limited edition flavored Oreos and bulk sizes of junk food. However, they are always out of out of popular items. Produce is picked over and pricier than Aldi/not that cheap and during busy times you'll be lucky if you navigate the crowds and aisles. In store and grocery pick up is a similarly exercise in patience unless you order in middle of week etc and, again, they're often out. Grocery pick up used to be great but due to popularity and always coming to store and finding they're out of stuff--again, it's no longer convenient. Cashiers and floor associates are mixed in terms of knowledge and friendless. It's Walmart after all, so use their app to locate items as sometimes I have to ask 3 to 4 associates and maybe 1 will actually know where items are located. read more

A very "meh" Wal-Mart that left me unimpressed. If this were my only experience with the chain, I'd never shop at Wal-Mart again. Crowded and overstocked aisles, a shopping cart with a squiggly wheel and cashiers that really didn't seem to care whether I was there or not. I have been to good Wal-Marts. I used to work for the company at their Bentonville home office. So I've seen good ones! And this is not one of those good ones. I only do grocery pickup exclusively from here. It SUCKS after 3pm. I've been waiting for my stuff for 32 minutes now along with a ton of other people. They go through phases where they're okay, but 90%of the time you're waiting forever. Not cool with an angry toddler in the car. If it wasn't a pandemic, I would've just shopped for all of my stuff by now. Gonna try my hand at delivery from now on. This is painful and makes my already long day a LOT longer. read more

Okay so it's been years since I've been to this Walmart and I can honestly say I didn't miss it. I was in the area and needed a few things. Upon entering I noticed they now have a "security" gate. I assume to slow down thieves. Anyways, my bf needed speakers and I need dog food so we split. I'm the aisle next to the dog food they are doing a reset. There are literally 6-10 associates in ONE aisle doing nothing. They were loud, cursing and all around unprofessional. I'm not one to normally say anything but it was over the top. You couldn't go down that aisle to shop even if you wanted to. And based on them arguing over box cutters and when they gonna take they break, I'm sure no one wanted to shop here. The shelves are low in the departments I went to and I have no reason or desire to ever return. And to think at one point this was my favorite Walmart. read more

This location isn't on my regular path. We were running errands and stopped by. The entrance was roped off for safe distancing. There were arrows telling customers to go in a certain direction. Many were not following instructions. The store wasn't crowded so it was fairly easy to safely shop. The cashier was nice. read more

I was in Laurel, MD doing some errands, and decided to make a stop at this Walmart location. While shopping, I observed there were a number aisles that needed to be restocked with merchandise. I overheard a number of Walmart customers complaining about the lack of items stocked on the shelves. I did find the Freeosk kiosk to be fascinating and operable. I was able to retreive a free sample of: 'Gain Fireworks'. I don't believe that I will shopping at this Walmart location again in the near future. read more

Eh. The only reason I come to this Walmart is because it's closer to my house. Ever since they changed their store hours and are no longer 24 hours, they've gone all the way downhill. It's like they don't have enough people to gather all the carts or stock the shelves. I came here on a Sunday morning to get some toiletries and other miscellaneous things. Of course there are only like 3 items ever on each shelf. I'm convinced that only 5 people work here at a time and they're all on the registers! Lines are always crazy long. The self-check out goes pretty quickly though which is a good thing. I usually always go there when I come here. I'll always go to Walmart for some things because you can't beat their prices (I guess you get what you pay for?). I just wish that they were a tad bit organized and had more people working in the actual store and not just at the 3 registers they have open. Carts are never inside the store to get when you first walk in. That's because they're all in the parking lots up against medians and peoples' cars. Bleh throw the whole Walmart away. read more

People are starting to learn about the whole free grocery pickup thing, dang it. I've had to start waiting for my groceries a lot longer than I used to. Also...WHY do they put one single item into every plastic bag?! OMG, I'm not trying to save the planet in a single Walmart trip or anything, but the amount of bags they use for the grocery pickup orders is absolutely atrocious. I actually haven't been to a Walmart that doesn't have long lines, so I'm wavering in my review here. I like to come to this WM because it is a super center and has pretty much everything, and at cheaper prices (I know, I know - I've heard the bad stories about why they're able to have low prices). However...the line wait is terrible! And there is always an issue that requires assistance from a manager that is nowhere to be found. Even if you try to go during non-peak hours, it's still a long wait because they have less lines open. Lose-lose situation. This is honestly a once every 1-2 month trip because I have very little patience to make it out here more often. BUT, if you're not anti-wally world and have some patience for crowded aisles and long lines, it's a good place to get affordable household items. read more

What the hell is up with this Walmart? I arrived at the jewelry counter around 10: 10 pm there's a employee behind the counter talking to a friend. I waited about 8 mins or until I figure their conversation was gonna go on forever so I asked her if I can see a pair of earrings and she flat out said "NO" we close this section at 10pm. I asked her why didn't you say that 5 mins ago and why in the world would they close the jewelry counter this time of year. I recently visited the Walmart Supercenter, located in N.E., D.C., Riggs Road location. I was greeted right away, shown where everything I wanted was. I was really impressed with how helpful the lady was. Idk what her position was there, but it was like she was waiting on my arrival or my personal shopping assistant. She knew where the three main things I wanted were located. That's really rare these days.It was so refreshing to find someone articulate, polite, courteous, so helpful with a positive and cheerful disposition. However with that being said, I went there because it's a relatively new store, less than six yrs old, thought they would have a great selection of everything. The first item Velcro, they didn't have. The second item, a new spring dress for Easter. I went a month ago, not last minute, nothing. I saw one nice dress, white with pink, purple, coral and blue flowers, not my size. (Ex lg. my size, not an uncommon one). Last looking for a six to eight ft. Circular rug and a 5' to 7' x 8' to 12' rectangular rug in neutral colors. All to no avail. So loaded the cart w groceries instead. Upon leaving the cart would not let you take it to ur car to unload. I'm handicapped and couldn't carry about twenty very heavy bags the two blocks to my car. Then was told they had parking. Undersized, extremely small and Very hard to see parking sign. I totally missed it. I only wished I remembered the ladies name that helped me. She truly deserves accolades big time. ! read more

I was convinced to go here 1030 pm and was fooled by the info that was received from their website. The website stated they had an item for a $25 dollar difference online then in the store which was not the case. The associate was very helpful but when she brought the issue to a manager he continued to walk away from the associate as she was explaining our concerns... Basically the manager didn't want to hear anything and turned the situation away. He statef that sometimes the website is wrong and left it like that. The funds were okay (and stuffed animals EXTREMELY reasonably priced) and that is the only thing that is giving this review any sparkle. The staff are bitter as SH*T. Horrible Store! Long lines at checkout, large numbers of items put on shelves without being priced... and when you try to find a price scanner, many have been taken off their poles, even though the signs are still up! Inventory is often sketchy - many shelves have huge areas where products are out of stock, or are completely trashed with items strewn all over. Check out the photos I posted if you don't believe me! Waited today for over 30 minutes for an assistant manager to speak to me. While I waited in the aisle, I called their "1-800 Wal-Mart" number. I stopped shopping here because of the poor customer service - long lines,. no one answers the phone, difficult to find an associate for assistance. One time I ordered online and the next day my order was canceled with no explanation; no one answered the phone when I called to inquire. However, I had a difficult time finding a product and Walmart had it. I ordered online for pickup to avoid the long checkout lines. I received an email that said the product will be ready for pick up June 23. I went to the store to pick up the item. I found out I misread the email - it said "estimated to be ready June 23." Today is June 27 and it is not ready for pickup. The guy that answered the phone for curbside pickup was very nice. He apologized several times and said the email is often misread. He said he would alert the manager. To avoid another trip I went inside to purchase. I asked customer service where the product would be located. She said I should check stationary and vision. I asked if she could look up the product on the computer so she could tell me the exact location. She said the computer was taken away and customer service can no longer do that. I checked both places and it wasn't there. I found another Walmart employee. He check is mobile phone and said there are 7 in stock but it did not provide the location. Check in electronics. I went to electronics, the person there said check in jewelry. Not there either. I left. I wasted two hours. Fortunately, I won't have to return to Walmart. Howdy folks! The last two times I visited this Walmart were very positive experiences. First, I was able to get an electric wheelchair as I have a damaged knee (important). Secondly, even though I had dealt with two negative employees, the three I later spoke to were very good and made up for the incompetence. I found most everything I needed including masks from the pharmacy. The lines at checkout were very fast in spite of being long. I like the pharmacy, auto department, and the food department. The bathrooms could command more attention. Overall though, it worked for me these times. read more

Needed some shower caps to keep in my gym bag and while gassing up at the neighboring Sam's club decided to pop into the wild, wild Walmart and take a looksee. Found a deep conditioning treatment I really like that I had been ordering online and had to do a hunt for the shower caps. The employees here make it a point to avoid eye contact and when I stood in front of one employee and asked (politely of course) she told me "over there". I'm like "what?" Over there could be many places but why can't you just help me? Thought it best that I just venture "over there" and spent like 10 minutes searching for the dang shower caps. Finally found them and was able to get checked out quickly in the jewelry section. Not sure why the lines are always so backed up here but be prepared to wait. The saddest thing I've witnessed here is people get freshly fried chicken from the deli counter and eat some of it and leave the container on the shelves or wherever it lands (without paying for it). Not sure what that's all about but its pathetic. The overall cleanliness of this store could improve and please be careful in the parking lot. One can only hope for that pristine Walmart experience. I've never had a problem finding anything at this wal-mart. They have everything I need from my grocery needs to random clothing items. My favorite of course would be the halo protein ice cream and chobani flips which they have numerous flavors of both in abundance. Another plus for me is that I have ordered online several times and they have a special lounge area that you check in on the kiosk and they bring it right to you. I was at this wal mart around Christmas time and they only had one ugly sweater left in the entire store. The customer service women( I'm sorry I forgot your name) was very accommodating she gave me a discount for the lights not operating and I actually kept the sweater! They have a clearance section like most wal marts and the only issue I have are these Verizon Fios people that follow you and try to get you to use their service. I cut the cord a while ago and I wish I didn't have to use Verizon for the internet! Kick those people out or make them stand outside and we have an almost perfect wal mart!!! read more

They didn't know we were together so they were speaking around me as if I was a random customer. After my family left, they reacted as if my family stole something. Then a guy answered how to direct my call and I asked my question and without a response he transferred me. I was put on hold for another 10 minutes... so I hung up and called back.... I called a different department and the answering system said to dial again... so I hung up and called customer service again..... rang for 10 minutes.... customer service answered.... sounded like two woman laughing in the background and you'll never guess what happened next....... they freakin hung up....... so I called ONE..... In-store pickup is awful. Grocery delivery is even worse. With some concern following my awful experience previously, I tried grocery delivery from this Walmart, after many years of using a competing grocery delivery service. For the first few weeks, it went well. Their prices were cheaper, and the order was always accurately filled, arriving almost perfectly in the middle of the one hour delivery window. Then, one week, things started to go downhill. The order showed up briefly as canceled by the store, but it still arrived during the window, albeit at the very end. The next week, the order still arrived, at the end of the window, but with around a dozen items missing, despite my saying to allow substitutions. Maybe that was true, but what kind of grocery store runs completely out of bacon, for instance. My suspicion is that they just wanted to get the order out the door, and decided not to bother with several items. I gave them another chance. The next order never arrived. Let me say that again: The next order NEVER ARRIVED. It was scheduled for between 1:00 - 2:00 Saturday afternoon. At about 2:30, I called the 800 number for grocery support when it was late. They couldn't reach the store. I tried calling the store for several hours and couldn't even get someone to pick up the phone. At about 8:00, I finally had the idea to call specific departments at the store and see if they could find someone. Miraculously, someone in the deli department answered, and got someone to call me back. At first, she told me that I had to contact the third party delivery service to make arrangements. I told her emphatically that had never been the case and she passed the phone to someone else. The new person told me the groceries were "right in front of him" and would get out to me that evening. Of course they never arrived. I finally gave up and went to bed about 11:00. The next morning, I called again, at the number they had called me from, rather than the public numbers. The woman promised to investigate and call me back. She said that the delivery driver hadn't shown up, and the order was "automatically canceled" then. I asked why I did not receive notification of that, and she couldn't answer. I took that as the end of it, and ordered groceries from another service that does same day delivery. I'm pretty sure I was told lies during the process, at least the automatically canceled part. Note that the order was still pending, as per the Walmart grocery all. Monday, the next business day, the corporate number called me, said they had never been able to contact the store, and that they had the IT department cancel the order. They did send me a $20 credit, which I used for one small order. But they have undoubtedly lost a customer for good. Never again, never ever again. I'm back to using Peapod by Giant. It costs more, but at least my groceries arrive. read more
