Wow, what a joke. This store needs help. The make up area was unattended and you needed a key to get an item. NO one around. We waited 20 minutes. The employees did not speak English. Finally when someone showed up they had no idea where the key was and torn the item off the shelf so we could buy it. If I had known that I would have torn it off myself and been out of there in five minutes. Prices were good, I think you need a better manager. You can tell by the way people work that the youth do not know how to put in a days work for their pay. When we went to check out, the the four lines open were filled. The worst ever!!! Only 3 out of 10 self checkout registers working on a Saturday. The cashiers seem to be slower than the customers who use self checkout. Walmart seriously needs to do something about having 2-3 cashiers present. It's very annoying to see them moving with no urgency as well. Don't even get me started on the money order line. Is it the best walmart? No. Is it the worst? No. Hence and average rating. There is tons of parking in the lot, always a plus. Getting in and out is a bit hokey with 3 entrances and everyone exiting the same way. There are the typical 3 entrances (when garden is open) that are easy to access. The store is set up like all other walmarts. I use the walmart app to determine what aisle(s) I need to go to and am typically able to find what I need. I have also used online ordering here with mixed results. My most recent online order in mid-November was very successful. I showed up on a Sunday afternoon and my order was very quickly delivered to my car. This is super convenient when I know exactly everything that I need. read more

I like this location because it has a larger grocery section complete with produce. Additionally, this location always seems to have what I am looking for. Like most Walmart locations, this one can get pretty crowded after a certain time, so I prefer to shop when it's not so crowded. Each time that I have visited, I have interacted with a staff member. They have all been willing to help, even walking me to the item/area in question. read more

This Walmart is transitioning between seasons so there are a lot of empty aisles and missing fixtures, making me wonder if they're closing or are shorthanded. It is a huge location next to the Sam's Club, and parking is generally findable but inside it is always crowded and busy. Luckily, checkout was easy and efficient. read more

I have to say that this is quite possibly one of the most well hidden Walmart locations I have come across. I had been in the area for a few months and only recently noticed/discovered that this location was here. Recently I was on a mission to find myself a small microwave to put in my office. I wasn't looking for something that was huge or overcomplicated. I wanted something for the sole purpose of popping some food to reheat in it and then be on my way for the rest of my day while at work. I did do a bit of online shopping prior to coming here, but I wasn't looking to wait for it to show up at my door. While out and had just stopped at a Target nearby, I decided I would do a quick search for Walmart and noticed it was technically across the street. Well hidden, but still across the street. I walked in, grabbed a cart, walked right back to the housewares section, picked up the microwave and headed right back up front to purchase said microwave. It was that simple, and when you factor in how well setup and stocked this store was, it was that much quicker. read more

So we drove out of our way to get to this Walmart to pick up some things. We found what we needed, and got in line at cashier #10. There were a lot of people in the store and each of the four manned registers had a long line of people with full carts - we were perhaps the 12th in line to get to the register. After twenty minutes of standing in the line, the cashier turned off her light, came out to the end of the conveyor belt, put up the 'closed' sign, and announced that her lane was closed. By then the other lines were much, much longer. In fact, the people who had been behind us were now in front of us at the next register. So we went to the express lane to check ourselves out. The line for express was 25 people long, but it seemed to be moving, and there were eight registers, so we waited in that line for another fifteen minutes. We got to the register and the attendants, who had been ignoring us for the last fifteen minutes, announced that, because we had more than 15 items, we would now have to go to the back of one of the other three registers. 12 of our items were identical cans of cat food (when I worked retail, a cashier could just scan one and put in the quantity, but I guess Walmart doesn't do that), several of the same toy, and several matching towels. With the 'times this quantity' button, we really had 4 items and would have been out of there quickly. We looked at the other lines and they now stretched back into the clothing sections of the store. We'd already been in this Walmart for over an hour - 35 minutes of it just waiting in two different lines - so we walked away. I said "You can keep it. Nothing you sell isn't available in Target." Granted, I paid a bit more at Target, but my time in the store lasted a total of 30 minutes, including the wait in line. Walmart must just be so rich from not hiring cashiers that they can turn down paying customers. I wouldn't have been as upset if the employees hadn't wasted my time and been so flippant - first, the cashier who let us wait in line for 20 minutes before deciding to tell us her lane was now closed, and then the express employees waiting until we were at the register to stop paying attention to their phones to tell us we couldn't use the check out. Maybe pay attention to the people in line so you can say "I'm sorry - 12 items or fewer at express check out," BEFORE the customer wait in line for fifteen minutes. And if it was enforced evenly (two people in front of us must have had 30 grocery items they had to look up on the computer), I might have actually bought the things in the cart, but I don't need surly staff brushing me off with "You can't use self check out with all these items. You need to go over to that line," pointing at the line wrapping around the womenswear section. read more

They have the worst order pickup process. I waited for 40 minutes for my pickup order. Three different employees asked me my name three different times all to say they don't see my order. When I asked where is the manager? I was told the manager is gone. I tried calling the store from the car and the call was convenient was disconnected twice. Something new!!!! I just purchased the kelloggs Cinnabon jumbo snax & surprisingly they're not overly sweet at all. They have fifty calories & four grams of sugar now that's what I like. They are crunchy & sweet how can you go wrong with that. It's just enough to have with you when you want something sweet your on the go & don't have time to stop. These snack are small enough to keep in you bag, your desk, in a bookbag or even in the car. Twelve little packs come in the box & they was under five dollars 10/10 I highly recommend. I find what I need almost always at this Walmart Supercenter. It is strategically located with a lot of parking spaces, you almost always find a space to park your car. Fresh food produce are available and easily accessible too. It was recently re-arranged and I acknowledge the effort of the management at improving their organization of items at this location and make them more appealing. I find the check out a great tool as it ensures everyone checks out quickly with no unnecessary long wait time. Also the associates are quick to respond and assist should one need an assistance. It is a busy center and in my opinion, they manage to do just fine. The only suggestion I have at this time, is to ensure the stench emanating from some of the aisles, particularly in the spices and condiment sections and those around it, is well-taken care of, as it sometimes smell like rotten eggs. This center may not be the best but it is efficient and certainly meets my need and that of my family and they have never disappointed in that regards. Thank you. read more

If I have to go to Walmart this is my chosen location. Even with inflation I save some money here. First it's Walmart and you need to understand your prices. I like some of their store brands so a big savings there. Their brand of strawberry mini wheats is a great example. The price of brand name cereal is a crime. The staff is friendly and helpful. I come here frequently. It's in a great location near other shopping and many places to eat. The real reason I decided to leave a review this time is I want to commend the clean bathrooms. Every time I have been to this location the lines have been so long. Whether you are doing self-checkout or having a cashier scan your items you are going to have to wait at least 10 minutes. Recently they are doing some sort of renovation so only 25% of the store is accessible. It is only the grocery area. I came in another time to pick up 4 picture prints and it took 30 minutes to pick them up. They somehow lost my pictures and had to print them out again after looking for a while. Haven't been to Walmart in so long. I did notice the prices went up, I'm guessing COVID is what caused the hike here too‍. The frozen veggies aisle looked like apocalypse occurred and no one told me. Where is the zero rating star? Check out is a nightmare. Both self and human person check outs can leave you waiting to check out 30 min or more even on a slow day. Slow as molasses because they do not have enough staff. Even before the pandemic their stock is low or items NEVER IN STOCK. And I am talking about non sale items too! The workers are pathetic and are more interested in gossiping and looking at themselves than helping the customer. No one knows anything if you ask them a basic question about their particular area. Decided to purchase a can of paint for my shed but the can did not have a color designated. After hunting down the Paint Dept. Mgr. this was our exchange... ME: Can I tint this can of paint here? MGR: I do not know. 2ND MGR. Maybe you should go to a hardware store to find out. WTF? INSANE. If these exchanges weren't so frustrating and stupid I would have LMAO. Pathetic. The items that were once a decent price are the same price at any other store in the region. I went to Target across the way and got PB, cereal and LOL butter spread much cheaper than this Walmart. Everything is priced lower than any other retailer unless they are sold out. We try to get most of the household goods and food items when we come to this location. Our encounter with this individual was a joke. She was blocking the  room scent aisle taking her time looking at all the available scents.   We grab few sprays we needed suddenly she told us " can you step aside". When she turned around to face us she was wearing a Walmart ID hanging from her neck. A Vendor ?  Maybe ? Let's hope so. She was stocking the shelf and confused with all the various scents ! Well let's see, On May 20, 2025 at 10:57 pm I did 2 transactions, 1: 1/2 gallon chocolate milk and a pillow, which I must had missed 'Print' or something which checking out it did not print, 2: order was a throw 'blanket' which receipt did print out, as I was leaving a lady asked for the receipt I told her the first order a receipt did not print out but I had the second receipt she said let me take you over here to these gentlemen which they were standing at the self checkout area, at that point a guy approximately 6'1 and a guy about 5"10 or so, the taller guy asked me for the receipt I told him it did not print out the shorter guy said what register were you at I told him which was registered I think he said okay register 45, he printed out the last receipt, I said no I have that receipt I don't have the receipt for the first order the taller guy said well you're not leaving here until I get a receipt I said I told you I don't have one it did not print out, he responded again but you're not leaving here until I get a receipt I said are you accusing me of stealing if that's the case then call the cops and then we can start from scratch, the taller guy said you need to get me a receipt and I said again I told you one did not print out I cannot give you one, I put my phone number in the register so look it up that way then he said no you need to get me a receipt again I told him I don't have one and you're not keeping me hostage in the store over a damn receipt you really think I want to steal chocolate milk and a pillow I'm leaving, I started walking towards the door he "taller guy" walked up on my cart trying to lead my kart in another direction I said what the hell are you doing he said you're not leaving, at that point I said mofo you're not keeping me hostage I'm leaving this damn store and again if you think I stole then call the cops other than that I'm leaving, as I get closer to the door a Walmart security guy I'm sure he's on the county police officer anyhow he saw the commotion and he said what is going on the taller guy said she doesn't have a receipt and she needs to wait for us to look at the cameras, are you kidding me I'm not waiting for s*** I'm leaving and again if you think I stole then call the cops if you're so worried about it then put cashiers back on the registers other than that I'm leaving, the officer calmly asked him to be quiet so he could find out what happened, he said ma'am what happened, I told him then the taller guy jumped in the conversation saying she can't leave without a receipt or until we finished looking at cameras he asked again for him to be quiet while he gets my side of the story again as I proceeded to tell him again the taller guy jumped in the conversation again at that point I put my hand up and said shut the f up and stop talking to me you don't have nothing to say to me and you're not keeping me hostage in this place so again if you think I stole call the cops, again the guy at the front ask him again to please be quiet so he could hear me, he then said to the taller guy is it possible a receipt did not print out at that point the taller guy said man let her go, the next morning I called corporate to make a complaint that he is very lucky as he was leading my cart away from the front door with his body that I did not fall, if Walmart is so pressed about harassing or keeping people hostage over a total of a $20 bill they need to put cashiers back at the register, then I went back to the store and returned the pillow and the throw yes kept the chocolate milk. There are some really nice people who work here. Too bad the corporate culture of Wal-Mart doesn't really support them. I picked up a few things. OK, 15 things. Got in line at the "express lane" limited (so the sign says) to "less than 20 items." This has never been enforced in the history of this store, but I got to chatting with the nice cashier after waiting in line a half-hour behind THREE people, all with overflowing shopping carts. Now, maybe the problem the sign wasn't in their native language so they couldn't understand. Or maybe all three of them are jerks. Whatever. I fault Wal-Mart for not having someone with authority to go up to them and say "you have too many items. Get into another line." I don't think it should be on the lone cashier to have to enforce this. Conversations with the cashiers uniformly reveal they are backed up with they try to be fair to ALL people following the rules. I generally only shop here once every few months, usually I'm looking for something only they carry, and since I have to subject my aching bones to a long wait to pay for it, I try to pick up multiple items they have in stock that might be annoying to have to pick up at a variety of stores. This reminded me why I pay for an Amazon Prime membership. The next time I need a random assortment of items, I think I'll continue to shop online for them. This is by far the biggest walmart i have ever been to. I have been to this location a couple of times and spent about an hour and half shopping and both time i failed to go through every section. No doubts this is a supermega store and everything is available here which arent available in other Walmart's location. I loved the garden section i wish if they only had exotic plants but we are talking about Walmart.. My wife and I went to the Walmart Supercenter located at 3549 Russett Green, Laurel, MD 20724 on Sunday August 13th and bought three packages of the Old Wisconsin brand of turkey bites jerky. At home we discovered they were as soft as cat food! That was because one had expired in February and the other two had expired in April! And they were still on the shelf for sale! This leads me to believe there are many other expired food items sitting around the store for several months, that none of the employees are checking Where is an food inspector! Every time I ordered groceries on the Walmart app for curbside pickup, some of the items look like someone opened them, items are always out of stock, they sell the items that are past the expiration date and I even gotten expired rotisserie chicken at one point!!! This is one of the worst Wal-mart's in the area besides "Washington Blvd". All the kids sitting on other kids laps are riding the handicapped carts for fun taking Instagram selfies. There were actually handicapped people waiting for a free cart. Also Depending on the time of the day most of the time the shelves are barely stocked. Yet they have employees walking around doing nothing but texting on their phones. The entire electronics section is like FORT KNOX everything is behind glass almost and you have to get help to buy pretty much anything in electronics even blurays and getting a employee to help will take some time. I've never seen a store this fortified before. Laurel must really be going down hill. The employees here are nowhere near friendly nor helpful really. Especially the CSM's. I said excuse me for help to a couple of workers and they act like they can't hear you. Lastly. I thought things couldn't get worst but it turns out you have to show ID to buy a money order at this store. YES buy a money order even though your exchanging cash for a check like paper. I refused to show ID since I never have to at other wal-marts just to buy a money order and the asst mgr came over and basically said in her exact words with tattoos covering almost 100% of both of her arms. "This store is just that ghetto you gotta have ID to do anything" I have never in my life seen someone in a management position talk like that to customers. Unless there is a hurricane or something coming and i can't get to other wal-marts. You will never see me shopping here. I don't know what is happening to laurel but it's not good. read more

A billion dollar company and they can't employ anyone to clean the bathrooms hourly?! I rarely use public restrooms but needed to wash my hands and this place is HORRIFYING as many other Yelpers have stated. While I won't go into the particulars of what I saw, let's just say you would not ever want to step foot into this Walmart again. I wanted to go to the customers service line to tell a manager but the line was out the door (and I ran out as fast as I could), so I really hope their PR\social media relations team sees this. This is the closest Wal-Mart to me but I also don't shop here or any Wal-mart that often. I'm not a hater or anything, it's just never been my thing. Yes, there are some bargains, but not pressed and the lack of good customer service has always been a turn off. Why go out of my way for that? I can order what I need from Amazon. Needed some last minute items for a trip - toiletries, vacuum bags to compress my many outfits and since I was not too far away, I decided to stop in here. It was early in the morning and the store seemed crowded. It was a weekday too. Since I don't come here often, I didn't know where everything was. Not like the store was organized. I asked an employee where I would find vacuum bags for traveling and she mumbled "travel," pointed and walked off. Guess I'll just walk around and find it myself. I found the items I needed and proceed to the self checkout since there were only two sales associates open and their lines were long. The self checkout lines were long too, but still shorter than the ones with an actual person working. One of the items I picked up didn't have a price and I asked the employee standing in the self checkout area for assistance. He just shrugged and said he didn't know. Um...ok! Didn't need it that bad to ask for a manager but at least his attitude could have been better. Maybe he could have offered to find someone who could help me. Maybe that was just too much to ask for. Believe the reviews. This Walmart location is THE WORST. But of course, it's currently the best priced grocery store in the area so it's packed at all hours. Even in the middle of the week, you can expect items to be totally out of stock. Generally things are strewn about the store because of how high traffic this location is. Employees are either extremely nice or extremely nasty. Worst of all, the self check out. I purposely don't storm someone checking out so they can calmly gather their things and the women working there always rush customers out. So much so, that I watched a woman with two children forget a bag. I was so mad. Who knows what her financial situation is? Let people take their time gathering their things, make sure they gathered all their items, then usher new customers to the empty register. Ridiculous. read more

***This review is for the bakery only. I have heard horror stories about Walmart bakery at other location, but the Laurel location has yet to disappoint. I have a used this bakery for six consecutive years for my son's birthday, my husband's birthday, my mom's birthday, and several other events. The Walmart bakery is very affordable you can order cakes online or you can go in person. The only drawback to the bakery is the customer service is not always that great. I recommend going in the day when the bakery is open and also when the store is less crowded during the middle of the week. Every time I sever these cakes or cupcakes people always ask where do I get them from ...they are always surprised to know that I got them from Walmart at such an affordable price. If you have patience and you are frugal like myself , definitely try out the bakery in Laurel. I can't recommend other location, but I know the Walmart in Laurel never seems to disappoint. read more

I don't think I've been to a Walmart that I could write a 4 or 5 star review for. This one isn't any different. We moved to Laurel about 4 months ago so we do have to get the occasional Walmart run. We were in Ellicott City before and that one was significantly better. This being a Supercenter there is more space and options but like some of the previous reviews a lot of the items aren't fully stocked. The one incident that sticks out the most was my trip trying to get some steaks and they didn't have anything at all. It wasn't a 4th of July weekend or anything but they didn't have anything. Surprisingly for how big this Walmart is and how many customers there are, there doesn't seem to be enough registers open. Lines are pretty long at self checkout too. Although I will say that this Walmart doesn't have 3-5 broken ones at one time. I had the pleasure of doing one drive up pick up for my wife and not sure if there was an issue with the app but it wouldn't allow me to put the parking space I was at and I called the number indicated on the space just to make sure. I saw that there were a few other cars waiting longer than me so I don't know if the app needs to be updated but if you're doing the pick up make sure you call the number and let them know otherwise you could be waiting longer than expected. One of the biggest things I dislike about this location is the parking/traffic. Seems like there isn't enough parking spots or the way it is set up that when you are trying to leave the parking area and getting back onto the main road it is always held up. We had one night where the traffic light wasn't working and didn't turn green after like 6 cycles so we had to run the red lights. It doesn't help that there's a Sam's gas station near the only exit so it can get really congested. I try to avoid going to this place during peak times but it is Walmart.
