On the plus side I could find a number of grocery items that Kroger was out of recently. I do prefer Kroger's for their produce and also prefer the Kroger brand orange juice. That being said Walmart has more competitive prices on a number of items that I buy. Of course Walmart has more than grocery items such as copy paper, paint, automotive parts, etc. Then again if you are just looking for groceries then Walmart can seem overwhelming. Another pet peeve I have with Walmart is that there aren't enough handicap spots. Worse than that sometimes I see a number of car parked in handicap spots when they don't have a handicap permit. So I've tried online grocery and pick up two times now. I've been a loyal Kroger Clicklist customer. After trying Walmart, I am loyal to Walmart. The east of use of order on app is amazing. I love the prices and selection. The substitution process is so easy. You get a text and you can accept substitutions so quickly. You get a text to let you know when your order is ready, click link head fo store. The app tracks you, so when you pull in and enter your parking spot number they are out in a jiffy! So quick and friendly service. Both times they were out of a few things which were fine and the substitutions are impressive. I like not having to call and wait for 15-20 for them to come to my car. So easy, in and out in less than 3 mins. Wow! Convenience. And no extra fees and low prices. My grocery shopping go to no other way! read more

I headed to Walmart to buy ink for my printer and I needed certificate paper as well. After looking all the places I could think of for the certificate paper I went to the electronics section to get my ink. There was only one young man working the counter in that department and 5 customers. He was polite, efficient and kind. When it was my turn he unlocked the ink displayed and rang up my order. Since i could not find anyone to ask about the certificate paper I ask him. Even with all the other customers he checked on the paper for me. They did not have it. But we were in and out pretty quickly with ink in hand. Nice encounter with this store employee. read more

Walmart is Walmart is Walmart. It is never great, you might indeed feel guilty and dirty and a tool of evil capitalism after making a purchase there. But you know what to expect. And sometimes...you are on a budget and know that what you need, you can get and afford at Walmart. I am very much on a budget, and I very much like treating myself to a new dress every once in a while. I can do that at Walmart without going in to the red for the month. On my most recent visit, and the first one to this location, I had seen online that my favorite plain flats were no longer available in the color I wanted for shipping...but WERE available in store here. Those online inventory things may or may not be accurate, but for exactly what I needed....it was worth a quick visit out of my way. This is the cleanest, most organized Walmart I have entered in the Louisville Metro Area. It is laid out slightly differently than the one closer to my house, but I easily found the shoe department, and quickly found the exact shoes I was on the hunt for. I snagged up the last pair in my size in the apparently discontinued color and was on my way in less than 15 minutes. This Walmart is so far out of my way, if the bug to visit one hits again I highly doubt that this will be the location I go to. But it is just fine for those in the area who know what to expect when going to a Walmart. read more

This Walmart right here is located on New Cut Road and Outer Loop. Sorry, Troy, can't allow this Walmart to get any average more than 3 stars. It's Walmart, it's really 'Meh' at best. And this one is truly Meh. While it may be relatively well-organized and somewhat clean (the sparrows and starlings flying through are not much different than flying rats,) the service is atrocious, lines are terrible and rarely do they make the effort to make the experience any more than simply bearable. The one upside is that if you're a fan of www.peopleofwalmart.com, this is one of those Walmarts. While I have yet to see anything as extreme as you see on that website, I wouldn't put it completely out-of-the-realm of possibility. A camera and a sense of humor can make for an interesting day. This is a way better Walmart than the one that I live near. My only complaint is that employees seem apathetic- can't blame them, sorry people who enjoy working at Walmart! I literally asked someone a question and they told me they were off the clock and to go ask someone else. Not very helpful. My only other complaint is that you can find out of place merchandise all over the store. On this one I blame people who don't give a shit that another human being is going to have to clean that up- be polite people! The good things about this Walmart include: its cleaner than the Walmart near my house. No one there has given me the heebie geebies yet. And I have been able to find everything I happen to be looking for rather quickly thanks to the ample signage. Overall, not a bad Walmart. Also, use the self checkout whenever possible. Customer service is horrible and the people seem to be irritated when you asked questions about the products. I've been anti-Walmart for a while, but I'm cranking my review of this location up a notch. Like most other locations in town, this one has just been remodeled with the same softer colors that are packaged with the new "sunshine" logo and with "supercenter" stripped from the store branding. Aisles are wider, shelves are lower, and it seems to be a more pleasant store to cruise around in (I'm not holding my breath, though... we'll see how it goes.). In regard to groceries, most locals only have two choices: Walmart or Kroger. Of course, there are a few other options, but those places are either have limited selection or limited, inconvenient locations. I switched from Walmart to Kroger years ago for a better selection and a better overall shopping experience. I was impressed with my last visit to Walmart and I may switch back. Note: I would likely leave both stores if one of the Target stores with a full line of groceries moved closer to my neighborhood. read more

I took my very expensive watch to have my watch checked and do what ever it needs. The Lady there said she just finished school for Watch repair. She proceeded to take back off to replace battery. You're NOT supposed to do that. Two Walmart mgrs. Came over checked my problem. Agreed that they had a problem. They asked if I would wait a couple of days to resolve the matter. I returned a few days later. Again 2 mgrs. I think Charles was his name. I was expecting a run around!! It was a very business like. He apologized for Walmart and solved our problem. UGH I am not a fan of Walmart in the first place, but this one is super $h!ty. Went in looking for a few items, one being simple hardware, a bolt lock or an eye hook to place on an old door.....guess what - the entire section of hooks and locks were out of stock. Then cruised on over to auto, picked up a few items, and got to the Electronics Department where I picked out a super expensive ($15) phone charging cable. Went to take it off the display and it was locked, so I had to get a sales associate to get it for me (again there was no selection of Android charging cables). I had to pay for the cable at the at the Electronics Department, but was going to wait to pay for the auto items when I was done shopping. I didn't pick up another thing, so I had 2 items and when I say the length of the line, I completely ditched my 2 items, because they were not worth the wait. read more

I don't really know about the bakery or deli Dept. But I do no about the rest of the store though as I've been going there for years becuz it's right around the corner from where I live and sometimes the prices are allot lower than Kroger's. But if I could give this store zero stars I probably would. The workers there are complete a**holes they always have attitudes like they don't want to be there and they never know anything that's even if they can speak any English. They have gotten better about that part though but there's still allot that works they're that don't even understand English. I'm not a racist by far but if your going to be working in the public you need to at least be able to communicate with the customers just saying. Are the prices low yeah I guess there so low that's why one of the night mgrs told me that they wouldn't honor one of my coupons that actually came on the merchandise I was buying becuz it was expired. An I was like it came with the product that your selling and she said that it don't matter if it's on there product or not it was still expired. And I completely understand that they can't take an expired coupon I really do but what I don't understand is why are you all still allowing that product to be sold like that. And that's just a more recent encounter that I had with one of the managers there it goes beyond that. I bought a sheet set from there about a year ago and when I got home I was getting it out of the package to put in the washer becuz Everytime I buy clothes or sheets or anything like that I always wash them first before using or wearing them so I don't have an allergic reaction to the items because I have very sensitive skin and I don't no where all that stuff has been before I bought it but anyways I was unpacking the sheets to put them in the washer and there was a dead bed bug wrapped up inside that sheet an I didn't have bed bugs so I know that it didn't come from me but I completely lost it becuz I've bought allot of items from there as far as clothes and sheets and pillow cases so I had to pay black diamond to bring a dog out to my house to inspect it to make sure that I haven't brought anything into my home from that place. Thank God I was cleared and they didn't find anything. But anyways I can't ever find anything nothing is ever where it's suppose to be and nobody ever knows anything if they can even speak English and the bathrooms ugh don't even get me started on the bathrooms they are so nasty that a person would rather piss thereselves before they go into that bathroom it's so bad. I feel like corporate really needs to be doing some investigating on these Walmarts because it's not just the one on NewCut and outerloop it's all of them. I think corporate needs to put these managers through some type of training that will teach them how to interact with the public without acting like they hate you becuz your bothering them with a question. I mean if they get some decent management in these Walmarts they might be able to clean there stores up an get some decent cashier's in there that actually might want to stay and work. Came to Walmart on the 2nd of January 2019 to exchange a $50 Phillips light bulb. Only to stand in line at customer service for half hour. There were at least 4 workers standing right behind the line hanging out and talking, and one person doing exchanges and returns. One being a manager standing among the four. Hearing everyone in line complain about this not one person budged to go help. Every time I go to this Walmart it's something and I'm over it. They need to invest more money in training. Or pay more to get better workers that will stick around idk. read more

I've lived all over Louisville and I can honestly say that this is possibly the worst Walmart in Louisville. They consistently run out of items (food, non-food, & drugs at the pharmacy). For example, I like to keep the cherry Ricola cough drops on hand because I sometimes have a cough due to seasonal allergies. The last time I ran out of cough drops I checked back 3 weeks in a row and finally went to Kroger to buy them. It was not cold/flu season. I like Smart Water and they are almost always out of it. When they do have it in, they stock like 10-12 bottles and once they're gone they are out of it for a couple weeks. The pharmacy is horrible. Often there are as many as 6-8 people working in the pharmacy and only 1 working the register for picking up scripts because they only have 1 working cash register at the pharmacy desk. One person handling the line and the drive-thru??! There's always a long line! Also the pharmacy closes for an hour in the middle if the day for lunch. WTF?! I understand on new scripts people may have questions or concerns and need to speak to the pharmacist, but unless this is a law or something why can they not stay open and have 1 person still do refill pickups and drop-offs only? They could hang up a sign that reads: Pharmacist away 2:00-3:00PM Refill pickups and dropoffs only. People getting a refill or dropping off a script don't need to talk to the pharmacist. Also the pharmay often runs out of drugs. My Mom went to pick up Warfarin (an incredibly common drug that a lot of people are on) and she got there and they said they only had enough to partially fill her order then proceeded to ask if she wanted the partial and when she said yes, they told her she'd have to come back because they hadn't bagged it up. I take Sta-hist AD which is an over-the-counter allergy med. They always seem to be out of it and I have to come back another time. Does nobody do inventory? Do they not know how much they sell per week so they can stock appropriately? There are a lot of nice friendly employees that work at this location, but this Walmart is so badly run. They really need to bring corporate in or efficiency experts or secret shoppers or something so someone who can fix it will see just how badly it's run. read more

My Mother is 91 years old and has difficulty walking. To help stabilize her, and give her some support, she was pushing a basket from the parking lot into the store. She moves very slowly, so I hurried in to get a scooter for her. I sat down on the scooter, but I couldn't get it to go. Another person got on the scooter next to me. I saw he was a Walmart employee and asked him for assistance. He said he would be right back. I could tell he was in a hurry. I was watching my Mother as she made her way toward the door. This young gentleman took the scooter straight to my Mother. He was coming to work and noticed her, so he grabbed a scooter and took it to her. He then turned his attention back to me. I told him that he just assisted the person that I was trying to assist. He was very courteous and respectful, We really appreciated his act of kindness. read more
