Ordered a cake and was extremely disappointed. Was an EXPECTATION vs REALITY for sure. The condensation, the sloppy finish on the frosting. The layers are not even a circle those little blue spiral things on top I had to ask for I was not given them nor was given the cake topper that's pictured and they tried to give me a pink one .... I can go on and on but the picture speaks for itself. Walmart bakery is just terrible. I'm not sure why they have these pictures as the cake you were going to get and when you pick it up, it looks like a first grader made it. read more

I see this Walmart has some low reviews, but compared to the Walmart's in New Jersey...this is a great Walmart! I usually don't like to frequent Walmarts in my area because they are usually just trashed and it's like taking your life in your hands trying to park in the parking lots. Thinking about joining Walmart Plus? Don't do it. It is a waste of money. I have ordered five times in the last two months and four out of the five orders were completely messed up. At least two of the orders had multiple items missing, last week half of the order was missing, today I ordered food and a present for my son's birthday and they randomly canceled the order because they said I used an unknown pay source. I had to usedPayPal. Then on the 25 minute phone call with a rep, they said it was because my order was automatically cancelled since I had used a pay method I had never used before, but they only canceled the food order which was about $40 and yet the birthday gift that was closer to $130 still went through on my credit card. Make that make sense. Most people join Walmart plus for the ease of ordering and receiving groceries and not having to go to the store, of course this comes with a $99 fee for the year but as a busy working parent, it's convenient....however when they don't deliver your items at the expected time or randomly cancel orders and then you have to spend 30 minutes on the phone with someone who really can't fix the order, or solve the problem of your order not arriving with what you need and when you need it, the Walmart plus subscription is worthless. Don't be tempted. It won't work out for you!!!! read more

Stopped in to pick up a few groceries for the weekend. They are always busy here. Prices are better than most retailers in the area. Their deli is great and the store brand (Prima Della) is very good with a better price than other brands. They are good about layering the cheeses when they slice it so it's easier to grab a slice. They rely heavily on self-checkout as there are not many cashiers open. read more

Large Supercenter that is well used, plenty of people shopping, even at the later hour we went. Parking was crowded and cars sure liked to zip around the parking lot kind of fast. First Walmart I have ever been in where there was a gate to the inner entrance and the exit had an associate checking everyone's receipt. Didn't get a welcoming feeling at this store. And they seemed to have too much stick as the clothing sections were jam packed with clothing tracks. Checkout was quick and easy. Just not one of my favorite shopping experiences. read more

I really made the mistake coming to a Walmart.... watched an employee kick chips that were on the floor that someone dropped under their register to prevent them from being walked on. The three cashiers today, slowwwwww!!! I challenged myself to write a review in the time it took me to check out. Have to be standing in line now for ten minutes with two people in front of me. Full carts but this girls checking us out needs a manager to challenge her. Lane six at 13:06 hours for anyone in the company willing to check the cameras. If I could give zero stars I would. It was a mad house of associates last night. I work retail so I completely understand getting freight out and working while open, BUT at least make aisles easy to maneuver, move out of the way if a customer tries to get by and stop talking trash about customers and your employer. It was embarrassing for everyone to hear that the associates don't think mgmt cares about them while people are trying to shop. We asked for a price and the associate nearby said he needed to get a scanner and never came back. When we left he was on a smoke break outside?? Yikes. read more

Good prices, and for a savvy shopper, this can be a good place to go. However, it is not the best Walmart location around. It isn't much to look at on the inside, and items are often out of stock. I understand some items being out some of the time, but I can always expect that several items on my list will be sold out, there's just no predicting which ones. It's always something different, sold out. You can't beat the location, but if you want a better shopping experience (and sometimes slightly better prices), try the East Windsor location. read more

Seems like just about everyone else has had similar experiences. My theories: 1. It's built over an ancient graveyard and someone put a hex on the place... 2. The irony of the address is actually like its calling card...so is the problem the employees partaking or the customers? I realize their clientele and demographic must be a huge part of the problem- leaving items everywhere and anywhere, scribbling all over in the craft section, dumping out glitter glue like they were making a pile...lipstick all over in the makeup section. Not just placed all over, but scribbling WITH the lipstick-which makes me then think none of the makeup can be trusted to be sanitary! However why they LEAVE it like this is beyond me! Hasn't anyone read The Tipping Point?!?! It was removing GRAFFITI that stopped larger crime- showing the criminals if we don't stand even for vandalism, you can sure as heck know we don't be standing for any more serious crime! I don't have memories of particularly rude employees. Perhaps apathetic and seemingly unfriendly- but again look at who they have to deal with. I remember making it a point to make a cashier at the self check out smile and she did and was friendly back. It's absolutely filthy though just like others say. It was only after this last trip that I really noticed there is SO much garbage ALL OVER THE PLACE here! And not even Walmart related garbage- these litter criminals seem to go get take out elsewhere, and leave their garbage all over the parking lot here! Aren't there cameras?! Can't they go and make a note of license plates of these people and have it connected so when they get stopped which they inevitably will, it can be noted this isn't some unusual infraction for them?!! And it being left there just invites more of it!!! Pretty sure I spotted poop on the floor- can't figure out anything else it could possibly be! As they do not have a fresh fudge candy maker on staff.... In the spray paint section- paint sprayed everywhere- on shelves, on paint cans, on the information card. Craft section- scribbles all over the place and everything in disarray! So many holes where items should be. Blue fluid on the floor, accident waiting to happen. Oh and outside 7-10 workers smoking, hanging out, NOT picking up garbage or carts!!! Here's an idea, if you can take a smoke break, you can bring in 20 carts and 10 pieces of trash! Garbage and mess in just about every check out line. ONLY self check out operational. One or two times there was a nice lady I believe Filipino who was lovely and discussed with me options for using my Guava I was purchasing. Even their cleaning equipment was filthy- see my photos. A pile of sweeping just left... The sticker on the floor "Happy to Help" - yeah tell another joke- no one looks happy for anything there. That statement is as true as the sticker is new and pristine.... In the nail polish section, nail polish smeared ALLLLL over the place! Take a look at my photos!!! What kind of message does that send?!!? If someone wanted to blast the culprits into space, that's a cause I'd donate to! I guess one good thing about so many workers hanging out in the parking lot doing nothing is at least you feel like someone is there if something happened....although would they do a whole lot more of nothing? How on earth can the WILLIMANTIC location be SUPERIOR?!?! I mean Willimantic is not knowing for its delightful residents by and large but boy that place is a palace comparatively! Oh I also bought houseplants from this place- some are relatively ok- but a few up and died right away! I am surprised I have not yet run out of space and yet my other recent review did- perhaps because it was an update..... Ok even though I wrote some of this in my photos- aisles just BLOCKED from bins- now of course evil customers could have done this but it wasn't just a few loose here or there it was the entire pile which might be too heavy for such couch-potato characters that would likely leave behind their refuse.... and then center sections completely bombarded with items- not even a space to traverse through to get to the other side.... at least leave an opening! I can see why soooooo many others have said such similar things.... I wonder- the healthier juices and things in this store- WHO is actually buying them!??! The types of people who care about their health would be scared away with the state of things here! They do have decent produce....and on some trips home I used to get rotisserie chicken but it's been MIA lately. Another odd thing was there were SO many different smells wherever I went...some of the smells near the food did NOT match what I was passing by... some of the smells seemed just like smelly customers... no surprise there...but other ones were hard to identify..... then again there was a worker whose cologne was not at all surprising to feel like you were blasted in the face read more

Located in the middle of Manchester this super Walmart has all the departments of a regular Walmart along with the grocery section that we utilize regularly for our apartment. Parking can be tricky as this place is always busy regardless of time. Different ways to get in and out of the area I now prefer leaving through the exit where Azteca and Smashburger is than go through the mall roads. You can find pretty much all you need at the store though sometimes between shipments they will run out of items especially after the holidays there was no juice or milk. Not that hard to navigate and I've always been able to ask for help or directions. Checking out can be difficult as there will be more people than associates but since I usually am not rush it isn't a big deal for me. The same can be said about the customer service desk for returns and other things. I've gotten gift cards there with checks and other things and if youre willing to wait a little bit and be nice you won't get too worked up about it all. read more

I can't say enough bad things about the experience at this Walmart. Something as simple as picking up 10 4x8 photos took a nightmarish 1 and a half hours to do over two days. I waited 20 minutes in the photo area before asking a gentleman to help me from electronics. He walked over with slumped shoulder and after watching him for 10 minutes, could not find the photos. He said he'd find the manager. Another 10 to 20 minutes went by and another associate came by saying he talked to the manager and the photo area closes at 8pm. I looked at my watch and it was 7:50. He then laughed and said, "Oh, she left early." Then my wife came back the next day. Again, the lady apparently left early again. I guess with a multi billion dollar corporation they can't back fill when someone leaves. Took a long time for a manager to call me back and I have to go back in to pick up the gift card they are leaving for me. I have to go at specific times. Horrible experience all around. I was at the check stand ready to self check-out. I had loaded everything on the conveyor belt when I realized I had left my cash and plastic at home (1st time I have ever done this at WM). I asked for assistance and young woman named Jazlyn walked over. She was great...she offered to hold my items until I returned. I asked if she could place the 4-5 perishable items somewhere to keep them cold. She stated she would put them in a beverage refer unit by the check stand I was at. I returned about 10-15 minutes later. I got everything scanned again and was on my way. Jazlyn was a big help and I appreciate her great attitude and assistance today. Cool name too. read more

I had almost forgotten why I stopped going to WalMart until last night. I went to the post office to get two money orders and they were out (? How that happened I dont know) so I figured I would go to WalMart to pick up the two money orders. Upon entering the place has a warehouse feel to it. Kids are screaming everywhere. The employees look miserable and you just feel like you have stepped into purgatory. I went to the service desk which had 8 people in line in front of me. Two clerks working (looking frazzled) One of the women in line was there with her three small children and she claimed her wallet had been stolen out of her purse while shopping, so she was asking store security to come down to help her. GREAT. The woman behind me was loudly carrying on a phone coversation within 2 feet of me because, why not? Clearly she is the only person in the store so why have any respect for the people around you. WIth the two registers open one of the women in the line at the register was trying to return something that WalMart insisted she did not purchase there. Therefore they declined the return. Her position was to just stand in line and refuse to move!!! She was there for FIFTEEN MINUTES while they were waiting for security to come down (holding up the line for the rest of us trying to get out of there) and they still were not there to address this when I left! The cashier just stood at the register looking blankly down so now there is only one register open! There is a prepaid checkout place where if you placed your order online you can pick it up. I saw people there for the entire duration of my visit (meaning that they checked in, requested that someone come out with their merchandise and no one was coming out) The whole point of that system is to AVOID having to stand in line and wait. Terribly disorganized and chaotic. I cant say that other locations are better, I was just glad to get my money orders and get out of there and make a mental note to NEVER return to WalMart under any circumstances. Yikes. read more

Not going to lie, Walmart has some great products at great prices. You definitely get what you pay for though. My issue with this Walmart is that it's so mismanaged. There are workers everywhere but somehow there are still lines that every register all the way back to the aisle. When I came to return some thing today there's only one person working the return counter and the line was five or six people deep. Not sure why there would only be one person working during the busiest day/time of the week. read more

So yesterday I went to Walmart at 10pm to get some arts and crafts items. When I finally get to doing the arts and crafts today, the spray can would not spray. So because I did not have the receipt and unaware of the return policy when it comes to spray cans, I called Walmart. The first call, an associate picked up the phone call and when I said hello, she hung up. I proceeded to continue to call several times to a various departments (deli, customer service, and electronics) where I got NO RESPONSE! Finally at 10:39pm, an associate (who I later find out is Elizabeth (CSM) ) picks up the call. I asked to speak to a supervisor or manager. She said okay and rather then doing so, she hangs up. So I called again. When I called, an associate (Taneja) picked up the phone call. I ask if she was the same person that picked up and hung up on me a few seconds ago ( she said no that was Elizabeth who just walked away ) I then asked her if I could speak to a manager at the location where she stated that he was unavailable and that she was willing to help so I told her that despite that fact, I will need to speak to a manager and get corporates number. I explained to her my dilemma with the spray paint where she was absolutely able to answer my question. After, I asked her for corporates number. She asked me to hold on a second and so I did. She did not put me on hold or mute her side so when she put the phone down, she informed the associated around and asked where she could get the number. A Female associate states : "well tell her you don't have the fucking number!". A male associated then jumped in and said "omg". After a few seconds of chatter amongst one another about how stupid this was, an associate stated that I needed corporates number because I was "going crazy". She then proceeded to explain that I needed to complain about a situation that occurred earlier, the male and female associate continued to banter about what they thought of me. When Taneja returns to the phone, I asked for her name and asked for the names of the two associates that was in the area who found it necessary to express what the thought about me and how "crazy I was". She stuttered and apologized for them being too close to the phone when they had that conversation. I continued to express that I waited 40 minutes before I was able to reach someone to ask a simple question and when I finally get someone, it's a funny joke to hang up on me. I expressed that just because I wanted to file a complaint, doesn't mean that it makes me "stupid" or "crazy". I expressed that if they don't want to deal with customers then they shouldn't work in retail. She then dropped the phone and expressed to ASM that it wasn't her fault. The ASM then picked up the phone and introduced himself as Greg. I greeted him and asked if he would be able to give me the names of the associates that were in the area making inappropriate comments about my freedom of speech and want to file a complain on the unnecessary wait time or the unreasonable staffing and their inability to pick up a ringing phone. He then proceeded to state that he does not know what I'm talking about and that no one was there. I told him that I just spoke to Taneja and around here was two other associates (a male and female). He persisted that no one was there so I asked him for corporates number and explained that I needed to file a complaint about the inappropriateness and long wait to be spoke to. He expressed that he will bring the matter up to his store manager in the morning and that his employees were trained better then that and normally do not treat their employees that way. I said despite that fact, I would like corporates number. He said, she never gave it to you? I said no. He said it's easy, 1-800-WALMART. Then I proceeded to ask when the store manager would be in. Greg then stated that the store manager was on vacation this week and after asking several questions, stated the exact day and time she would be on. Not only was this extremely rude and unnecessary stress, but is obviously completely filled with untrained disrespectful employees. I am extremely frustrated that I will no longer be able to return to this location due to the customer service I received today because I have always gone to Walmart for all of my shopping needs. read more

If Yelp offered an option lower than 1-Star, the Manchester Walmart would be the poster-child for that rating. I have never understood why so many people complain about shopping at Walmart, but after visiting this location for work, I realized that I was just blessed with always having visited one of their nicer locations (Bristol, CT). First of all, the selection at the Manchester Walmart is PITIFUL. Shelves are always bare and there are only two or three varieties of the item you are looking for. Getting an item shipped from one store to another is a NIGHTMARE and even management is rude having to help you get your item ordered. Second of all, the people here (both staff and customers) are some of the rudest people I have ever met. Out of the 5 times I've been to this location (for work), staff has made me feel as though I'm bothering them when asking for assistance and I've even had three separate staff members, including a manager, tell me the wrong locations of items around the store. When I am on the clock shopping for work and on a time-line (and running around in heels), the lack of knowledge this staff has is unacceptable. And the customers here...zoo animals. I have no other way to describe these people other than a heard of degenerates and drug addicts who have found a common watering hole - Manchester Walmart. 90% of the people here have no manners, common sense (or really any outward aspect of respectability) and the other 10% of people share your same mortified look as you watch the circus unfold within the isles of this hell-hole. I am at the point where I will either travel to the Windsor location or stop at the Bristol location before getting to work in order to do my Walmart shopping. Popped in late night to pick up a handful of items. The self check out was closed, and the store decided to have one lane open. The line was a solid 12 customers deep. Some had carts full of stuff, while others had a basket of 12 items or less. After waiting on line for now almost 20 minutes, I was obviously getting closer to the register. There was still a good 6 people ahead of me at this moment in time, but without making any annoucement, the store decides to open a random lane. You would think the next customer on line would called over, but noooo. I seriously cannot believe I have to sit here and right a review like this. All of the people in line behind me, which was at least 10 [maybe more] sprinted to the new line that opened. These customers were closer than I was and were rang up ahead of me. It took a total of 30 minutes to get rung up...how INSANE!! The issue I have here is, how do you open a register A. without asking for the new customer on line and B. without making any announcement whatsoever. All of the people who JUST got on line were rung up in under 5 minutes and left before me, while everyone else infront sat there patiently for 30 minutes!! Such an absolute waste of time. If the items purchased were needed at that moment in time I would have dropped my stuff and walked out. Absolutely unbelievable. I feel bad for the one cashier who got slammed late night. read more

I'm convinced this particular Walmart is Satan's gate to hell. The place was complete mayhem and even if an apocalypse hit and I was in desperate need of essentials to survive, I would choose to shrivel up like a raisin in my basement. There were no shopping carts at the entrance, so you had to navigate the nightmare of the store to find a stray cart before you could even begin shopping. The store was an absolute mess, narrow aisles, and not your typical wide selection for a "super-center." Most things on my grocery list I'll need to go to another store to buy, and I've always been able to find at other Walmart stores. The AC was either broken or just not on, so expect to sweat your rear end off. The self checkout computers were slow and malfunctioning. I thought I was on a hidden camera prank show.
